2201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Self custody will always win on: June 05, 2023, 11:59:46 PM
I don't get what it is with idolizing crypto figures and patronizing their business. You can look up to these people but certainly don't let it affect the way you perceive their business. Binance as a CEX seem to be okay on the surface, and it's natural that it will be receiving a lot of notices from different countries and jurisdictions because there are still some regulations that need to be ironed out with the service and the country it is on.

But yeah, the general rule still stands in the crypto industry: not your keys, not your coins. So it's always best to just leave what you need to go around in the exchanges and take what you don't really want to sell or trade. Better be safe than sorry, after all.
2202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years of a Legendary post on: June 05, 2023, 11:49:47 PM
I remember reading it for the first time in 2014. It was one of the threads that can be found on the top thread of Bitcoin Discussion. Lot of commenters on that thread were thankful for being at the right place at the right time, whereas there are some other people that also knew they made the right decision because they understood what bitcoin is for and believed that it will be worth something in the future. Fast forward 12 years, that 100 bitcoins would be worth at least $2.6 million by now, and I do hope that guy kept all of his coins.
2203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: June 05, 2023, 11:35:10 PM
~~~
Although all politicians are the same to me, I like Trump more 'for the simple fact that he is not a born politician.
I would agree with you. US politics seems to be about selecting the least dangerous option. At this point, Trump sounds like a better option when compared to Kamala or Biden. Kennedy is better option as well, but there is no chance that he will manage to win the Democrat primaries. Trump is not a perfect choice, but given the lack of other suitable options I guess a lot of people will be voting for him in 2024. One of his advantages is that he knows how to handle the economy. And Biden lacks that quality. Economy went on a downward spiral once he took over in 2020.
I for one, thought that Trump was the most dangerous option back then just because Biden looked like he's the reserved, calculating, and more sensible option since he knew politics that well. Turns out that I was wrong for the most part, and Trump's sly and dry remarks are way better than Biden not really knowing what to say at the right place and at the right time. A lot of questionable decisions made by the Democrats during Biden's administration made me switch sides for the 'lesser evil,' which is Trump. Although the MAGA poster boy seemed to be erratic and a lot more unpredictable, his policies made a lot of countries - even Russia and China - respect the US somewhat as he's form on what he says and does not back down against threats compared to Biden.
A huge possibility for Trump to win the next elections. Even if they put Harris on the slate, I don't think her popularity and what he did on the current administration is enough to win votes.
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: June 05, 2023, 11:13:18 PM
The match fixing part is not entirely true. Even in Europe there can be match fixing in the lower division league. Was it not in Europe that Juventus was sent to relegation as a penalty for match fixing? It's the same thing in most of the league outside of Europe. Match fixing occurs in the lower league. I do not even have any proof to this, but I've seen instances and iv heard stories, same wah I heard about them in Europe.
There's a lot of match fixing that happen on lower leagues, but even in the big leagues it's still happening thought just not as obvious and evident. I haven't heard that much match fixing in Europe especially in football though, as I believe it's one of the strictest sport in there in terms of these things but I'm not too sure. I only heard about that incident you're referring to lately but that happened almost two decades ago so I know that it's not much of a problem there.
2205  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter ad sales down 59%, company valuation down 66% on: June 05, 2023, 08:58:41 PM
Twitter's business model was fucked since Elon bought it. It became his personal playpen - a testbed for some of his ridiculous ideas, if you may. He's trying to use the platform to gauge the public's pulse and perception to his viewpoints. It's an expensive platform for his ideas, but it certainly is important when he's looking for the public's reaction and opinion on some of the things that he's saying on important matters or any business-related tweets that he's looking to get out there.
I'm following a local tipster that posts only Korean baseball on his picks. So far his winrate is 90%, and when I looked at the teams he usually picks, it's not always the favorites who's winning but sometimes the underdogs depending on who they are up against. There are league favorites that does consistently well against a lot of teams but does badly when it comes to one or two particular teams that aren't as good as the average teams. I personally don't understand how he does it, but to him it's just another day in the office and another $$$ to collect.
I'm yet to get a consistent win on my Korean baseball picks, though I'm already winning quite a lot just by tailing him.
2207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $90,000 all in bet on: June 05, 2023, 06:34:39 PM
It's very sad and honestly, you are very brave after such a big loss you have handled the situation many people get frustrated and can't control themselves. From here it will be convenient to move forward with your experience. The damage done to the gambling platform is very difficult to recover. I would never bet that much. If you invest in this, the loss will be less. Gambling is an addiction in which you will always be in a daze, building your life beautifully. Those who know life is one, and life only once, live life not only looking back but also looking forward. Look forward, don't look back.
This does seem to serve as a cautionary tale. I know I would never consider gambling that $90K in this scenario. Turning $4K into $90K would be the win for me… You could invest that and get $3K a year for the rest of your life. That’s what I would consider the win. Must have been a hell of a rush watching 90K disappear though.
Me winning $90k from $4k seems like I have run out of luck to use and I wouldn't dare push it even further. I'll get $10k from it and try to bet it on some other things and keep the rest to maybe create a business that will generate an income passively. That's the smartest move as you pointed out, although in the heat of the moment (and when people are feeling really lucky), they can't think straight and their eyes are on the prize mainly, disregarding all reason and common sense.
2208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 05, 2023, 04:29:21 PM
If you are so sure of your VPN connection security then you can proceed but remember that some online gambling casinos, especially those that have warned users not to use VPN on their websites have their own ways of figuring out that you are using a VPN connection.
Imagine winning some money and the online gambling casino now tell you to pass their verification before they can release your money for you, things could get out of hand if you have already use VPN on the platform before so therefore, I won't advise anyone to use VPN connection on any online gambling platform most especially if they have already warned users not to use VPN connection in their ToS.
This is called breaking the rules and you have automatically given them a reason, in fact a good reason to hold your money and never release it.
I've never used a VPN unless I want to access a job site that sometimes requires a VPN to access it, besides that it's also using a free VPN so I don't think it's safe to use on a casino account, let alone one with money in it, even though there are paid VPNs as premium users but still there are casinos that prohibit the use of VPNs, so be careful with that.
This one too. People are overlooking the fact that there are VPNs that are prone to a lot of security attacks that can easily steal their information without them knowing. Paid VPN services that are trusted by the industry might be safer, but you'll never know when will the attacks come. Not saying that VPNs are insecure, it's just that it's another layer of you putting your trust to another service that they will not screw things up.
Then again, the decision should rest upon the ToS of the gambling platform that you will be playing on. If they allow VPN, go for it; if not, better be safe than sorry.
2209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: June 05, 2023, 09:53:32 AM
It is embarrassing how strong RBR is.
Mercedes got the version 2 of the car, looks like a Redbull.
Just copying their geometry has increased their performance with an easy second and third spot.
When Ferrari will copy RBR too?
If you can't beat them, join them.
Pretty sure they got that idea through ‘engineering breakthroughs’ Grin
I’m hoping that Ferrari get off the high horse and at least ‘get an inspiration’ to the leaders of the current season and get better placements. It’s really boring to know that no one comes close to RBR albeit the Mercedes team doing some improvements on the car’s body. It’s not Verstappen’s driving that’s causing them to get wons after wins. It’s more of the car and him placing comfortably during the start of the race.
Nobody would of seen these two teams making it to the finals of Intel Extreme Masters winning against both of their opponents Faze and Heroic.
Ence vs Mouz for IEM Dallas 2023 to see who lifts the trophy in two hours from now.
Mouz is @2.15x and Ence @1.65x who are the favorites. But Mouz has improved alot since they are a squad full of young players and it is their very first finals. So expect nerves to show in the tournaments last day.
Maps for over 2.5 and under are almost the same @1.85x and @1.88x which can be chosen at the Esports hub:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/esports-betting
Never expected these two to defeat G2 and FaZe honestly, even though we know how good the new bloods are. Sunpayus and nertz really took ENCE to the next level, while JDC and frozen tried their best to salvage a lot of rounds for MOUZ in the two maps. I kinda thought that MOUZ would have gotten Mirage given how smooth their first half is, but unfortunately Sunpayus' movements around the map and maden's pick-offs were just too much when they switched sides.
Anyway, GGs for both of the teams. MOUZ only needs to be together for some more tournaments and some more time, but they already went into IEM and managed to beat the huge teams and play at the finals.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 04, 2023, 08:25:55 PM
Another easy win for RBR without even pushing at 100%.
Good recovery from Mercedes but they are still probably almost 1 second slower then RBR in a single lap in the race.
Disaster Ferrari as usual.
You can see and feel that Leclerc is really trying to make things work, though unfortunately his machine isn't really up to par with the rest of the big names and he's always getting dnf or just a bad beat in general. I think the frustration is creeping up to him because Sainz managed to finish at a respectable placing behind Perez. The Mercedes are also slowly creeping back up with a close rivalry with the Aston Martins, and I think that's the only interesting match up right now since we now know Red Bull will take the trophy anyway.
2212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 04, 2023, 08:10:50 PM
^
People no longer know what to make a fuss about and come up with all kinds of nonsense. I can assume that such championships at first will gather a large number of viewers, but only because such championships in most people simply do not go to the head and they will be interested to see what it is at all. I absolutely agree with you that it won't catch on and most likely no reputable bookmaker's office will accept bets on these championships.
I would rather bet on a hotdog eating championship on bizarre events rather than this sex championship that they are trying to put forth. There's really no incentive for us onlookers anyway apart from getting aroused and rubbing one out. If we decided to bet on it, there isn't a guarantee that the event will be rigged at all, so better be safe than sorry and avoid this.
If this event exist before in nitrogensports which lists some obscure competitions, I'm pretty sure people will talk about it but not dare put even a single penny on it.
2213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 04, 2023, 06:52:36 PM
I knew it. ENCE is gonna do something ridiculous to go to the grand finals. They have good form very recently and sunpayus is doing some great plays left, right, and center with his crazy entries and some clutches here and there. Currently watching them play against MOUZ and their entries, trades, and map movement is just on another level. They comfortably take mid and B every single time and MOUZ can't do anything even with the heroics of JDC.
It looks like ENCE got the first map in the map. Even the likes of G2 and FaZe succumbed to these guys that are considered tier 2 teams not long ago.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 04, 2023, 06:43:14 PM
There are several reasons people use a VPN when playing at online casinos, the most common reason is because in their country most online gambling sites are blocked and they need a VPN to be able to access these gambling sites. I personally use a VPN to access gambling sites through my browser and fortunately the ToS on my gambling platform they say not prohibit their users to use VPN, only that they require KYC to do WD. It's pretty annoying, but I'm okay with that because I can get around it LOL.
Since the usage of VPN is allowed in the gambling site you are using then there is no issue there, but assuming yours falls under those that don't allow the use of VPN would you still use it?
It's commone sense to always seek out what best suites you and as soon as you start forcing things that are not meant for you to start working for you then you're bound to have some repercussions, same with the casino if you start to force a casino that don't allow it's usage in your country to start working with the use of VPN then it means you're ready for the consequences that follows and one thing I have noticed is that once the casino finds out your behaviour the will wait for you to make some deposit before they block your account.
I've never heard of what you said at the end, that a casino that suspects you are going against their terms of services will wait until you make a deposit and then they will block your account, that is totally wrong if casinos really do that. If they already know that I've done a mistake and I won't be allowed to use their platform anymore, they should simply let me know and don't allow me to make any deposits.
I think some of the big and reputable casino platforms allow using VPN, and when you have an issue like you're out of the country or something similar, you should simply ask their support through email about it and if they say that you can use a VPN to access the platform, then you should face no issues.
Believe it or not, that may be happening even until now. It's a douche move but it's something that a casino can do if they are trying to be extra stingy about the situation. Not every casino does this, but those who do are sure to have the name of their platform plastered across the forum for doing such shitty service against the users of their platform.
If you know that there are things that you are doing that are basically against the casinos rule, better stay away from it for a while before you deposit again because you'll never know.
2215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 04, 2023, 06:01:02 PM
Who the hell would bet on an event that is entirely subjective? Who are the judges, Johnny Sins and Lana Rhoades? IMO this shouldn't even be thought as something that can be bet on since this isn't a sport to begin with. This is just an orgy with extra steps so nothing really worth making it as a sport. If I want to waste my money on porn anyway I might just go to the real thing and hire some sex workers to work for me. Nothing in here is worth gambling at all, and since it's entirely subjective, I doubt the idea of it being on a gambling platform will not catch on.
2216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: June 04, 2023, 08:21:30 AM
The 4th one I do not agree with. I know some people who lie about their gambling activities because they don't want to get in trouble either due to their nature of work or to their family. Some are literally just trying to hide their gambling activities even though they play for fun on a handful of occasions or just to kill time and that doesn't mean that they are addicted. The rest of the list, well, it's highly possible that these guys who possess these behavior will turn out as addicts as it point towards one common theme: lack of self-control.
2217  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your personal debt reduction method aside the debt snowball method? on: June 04, 2023, 07:35:33 AM
I finish off debts that ask for high interest per month, and move on to the next that has lower ones and eventually pay them off. Or better yet, before I even take out a loan, I'll check what the interest could look like every month before I sign the deal. That's why it also pays to have a good credit relationship with your bank since they are handing out loans that are quite favorable to their users that have a good credit standing with them. Right now I'm debt-free, though I had a year-long stint of having debts left and right after being hospitalized, and paying the ones with high interest are the ones I prioritized. After that, it's just smooth sailing from there.
Snowball method works if you have all the time in the world and is okay with paying some interests over time on some of the debts that has a fixed due date, but it's not very economical and might bite you in the ass in time.
2218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 03, 2023, 11:37:34 PM
All the weather report seems to have changed for tomorrow as well. There isn't any expectation of rain at race time according to my source either. This would just secure a win for Verstappen even more as long as he doesn't any issue with the car. Sainz and Norris captured the second and third positions in the qualifying maybe but I wonder what they will do in the race.
At this point they should start an event in bookies entitled “Will Verstappen’s car have issues?” especially when their qualifying went smooth and there isn’t much of a weather disturbance on race day. There’s just very few things that can take down Verstappen in a race. Heck, even if there’s some miscommunication in his team, they can just order Perez to pave the way and Max to claim the win.
2219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: June 03, 2023, 07:02:29 PM
It’s what they wanted initially, and it’s what they pursued so it’s entirely their fault. While it may be sad that it has to go to this way ultimately, they wanted it. I’m sure they know that everything will pile up especially if they don’t have any self-control in them. Gambling in itself isn’t destructive, but one’s absence of self-control leads to a lot of damage in gambling. Rest in peace for this bro, though I know that he knew better and just opted to choose overindulging.
2220  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: June 02, 2023, 11:59:44 PM
When one have enjoyed the goodness of money, the next thing a person agonise is power. The person who had been discussed in the OP seems to be the same kind. With the wealth out of the oil well and related businesses he had made good money. Now he could've got fond of the power, maybe thats the thing happened. If not he could've misunderstood that beyond certain limit it is the power that can help in establishing more business.
Or if you are a true human being, you would crave for genuine connection. With money comes power, albeit secondhand, since you can pay people with power to do what you need and want to do. Heck, you can even buy power if you have the money - just look at politicians on poverty-stricken land. They continue to prosper in wealth and in power just because they have the money and the machinery to do what they want. Then again, not everyone with money knows what to do with it, hence some are doing dumb decisions just because.
