I win my own auction every single time until I get the price I want. Why have the auction in the first place? The entire auction process becomes a giant circle-jerk where the auctioneer sets the price, not the bidders. That's not how an auction works. Thanks for investing in AMC. Yes, you are right about being to optimistic with what we have now. Now lets look down the line a bit. We have a total of 5.651 TH/s coming on in the next 2 months, plus 10% royalties from VMC for machine sales and chips sales. So, just use the 5.651 TH/s in 2 months and estimate what the dividends will be with an increase in difficulty. Use 40,000,000 shares as that is all that gets dividends for the next 11 months.
I have very high hopes for AMC (currently holding a large number of shares). Being completely pragmatic however forces me to temper my optimism. Below are the reasons why I've been holding at .0008 and not buying too many more. 1) The remaining 15 million shares need to be sold before the price will appreciably rise. Investors appear to be unwilling (rightly so) to pay more than .0008/share when Ken could post the remaining shares at .0008 at any time. I don't know what the solution to this problem is, possibly offer 5 mill shares on each btct.co and havelockinvestments.com? Ken's goal was to let the market decide the price before issuing the remaining shares, but the looming flood of shares is artificially keeping the share price down. This sounds like a excellent idea. 2) We appear to be behind the ball attempting to design and sell 110nm mining rigs when 65nm are starting to ship and 28nm look to be shipping in September. I'm not sure how much interest there will be today in pre-ordering a fast-hash 80 device at current price/power points. I don't see hardware sales positively effecting share price until we can get in front of the ball. I could see interest in pre-orders for 28nm chips if a reference PCB design was published and more was known about production agreements.
That being said, I have high hopes, but don't really see the share price moving in the short term.
Yes, the Bitcoin market is moving very fast, however by building the Avalon clones we have gained valuable experience and have hired an excellent Electronic Engineering and Manufacturing Services firm to help us with the design. We might be a little behind the ball for selling these machines, however AMC will have there own supply of machines by the end of August to start mining with. These machines will have an ROI at retail (which AMC is not paying) of ~30-45 days. So, AMC unlike any other mining cooperative does not have to depend on some manufacture i.e Avalon, BFL, KnC or anyone else to get its machines to mine with. This a very big advantage for AMC and was the plan from the beginning. Now, since AMC is working on developing its own chip, news to come soon on that front, it is very possible that we could move from being behind the ball to being in front of the ball. This is going to rumble on until some sort of tag is associated with garr255. If im reading it right, the majority of the people reading and considering this Shillgate shitstorm, either want a tag, or cant understand why some sort of meaningful sanction has not been metered out.
While we wait for the mod/s, should it be a time limited negative tag posted by theymos/mod with "The community has found garr255 to be untrustworthy. Pending re-occurrence, this tag will be removed in 6 months"?
It draws a line in the sand, it allows garr255 something to 'work to/achieve', and it allows theymos not to infringe his own ideas/agenda.
OR, we carry on trying to fill this void, and see who else gets dragged into this.

Well.. i am sorry to hear that.. this was my first investment in life and that too in BTC.. i think it was wrong on my part to hope that an issuer would try to keep his asset valuable and keep the trust.. you are right on your part too thats why i sent a PM..
In the context of issuing and managing shares, TAT appears to be fully complying with what was offered. Don't know if its a good example, but Mark Z had/has no powers to support the price of the FB IPO, and nor should he be able to. Look how many, and how much smart money got it initially wrong. So people should not be beating themselves up too much. And at the same time, don't let what an issuer and/or forum post says, be the sole reason you decide to participate. These type of shares/bonds are essentially based on math. If the math don't work FOR YOU, the math don't work. |

The forum admins here don't seem to care about the auction system here having any sort of validity. But why is everyone missing the fact that not only was the Werner account shilling bids, he was also trolling others with it. Maybe scamming and trolling are acceptable here???

Pirate promised to pay back people's money plus interest. Matthew promised to pay people who bet him if he lost. Garr255 promised nothing. I do not recognize any sort of implicit contract. Something isn't a binding auction just because it's in the Auctions section. (I realize that some libertarian philosophers do recognize many types of implicit contract, but I strongly disagree with this notion.) If you mistrust Garr255, use the trust system. I'm not going to remove anyone from the default trust network for rating Garr255 negatively. But scammer tags require a more severe crime than just going against the expectations of bidders. I still dont see anything negative in Garr255's rating. Maybe some people expect a lead theymos. ?? |

If he wanted to win the auction then obviously he was willing to pay BTC63, no? He's still not forcing anybody to pay money they would not be willing to pay. This is equivalent to refusing a price in a bargain, something perfectly reasonable.
I don't see any problem in what Garr did, however I am disappointed he didn't warn people he was doing this. However, that's still not something worthy of a scammer tag.
Right, except they weren't bargaining. They were in a binding auction, and last time I checked, an auction doesn't automatically get advanced to the maximum amount that a bidder is "willing to pay". If Gar255 hadn't of called it an auction, rather, a multi-person bargain that functions rather like an auction would you agree that what he did isn't morally incorrect? This has even happened in the west. For 10 weeks in the 70s, Britain had a Three-Day_Week. Yes it did. And i can still smell the uncollected rubbish on my school journey, and remember the frustrating electrical power cuts. It helped put Thacher into No.10 . IMHO I think it is undervalued by 15X to 25X. But we cant see what you see Ken If you could demonstrate the previously cited plans and actions are being built on, and moving in the right direction, you could be correct. The order book suggests, this is what people are waiting for. |
