Don't forget to build in that once in a month the difficulty swings unexpectedly from high to low and back to high and we don't understand how the hell this is possible. Look for a dev team to make ChaosCoin - where each and all parameters would be affected by random values fetched from www.random.org That would be brilliant! Nobody would mine or use it though because of that reason though.

New difficulty jump in 15 hours.. 86 difficulty expected, that would be fun!
I'm not sure. Does this mean it'll go up or down? I'm hoping up certainly, but I'm afraid it'll go down. It will go up, did you see price jump last difficulty update? from 20 to 40-45 ltc/1k.. We're now witnessing someone who did good gains and he is cashing out, that normal.. Alright, well I'll hold 200 then, sold 300. Sorry, people like me probably bring it down but it seemed a bit too dangerous and I wanted to take a part of profit.

bter.com is brand new and unknown, hard to read, with large withdrawal requirements. cryptonit should not be used due to measures which are a standard for recordkeeping that they simply ignore.. I.E. If they crash they may not know how many coins belong to whom. Just putting a fair warning out there, search the form for my reasons why I tested bter with 100FTC, went fairly smooth, processing took long, and you can only withdraw whole BTC's 0.1,0.2,0.3. Apparently the whole withdrawal number is a limit in the javascript on the page. If you disable javascript in your browser you should be able to use decimal places. I haven't tried to withdraw yet. Yeah I read that, I'll try it on my next withdraw. my current deposit isn't getting a single confirmation though.

The FDA values a life at 7.9 million USD. [src]A soul weighs 21 grams, according to this guy. I weigh about 50 kilograms, approx. 50000 grams. (7900000/50000)*21 = 3318$ or BTC21 at current rates. Therefor, you can buy my soul for BTC21. First come, first serve. I can probably split my soul in 2, in case of high demand. i wouldnt pay 21 btc for it because it probably doesn't exist. But i would pay 0.1 btc on the off chance that it does. I'd sell my soul for 0.1BTC.

Interesting and original concept, finally something different from all other gambling sites. i just have one question, what guarantees you're not passing the solution to someone you know, or yourself knowing the solution, put the correct answer and grab the current amount in the pot?
I got a big pot of 1.45 BTC correct, and I am in no way related to OP. I doubt this would happen.

WTS 400 FTC for about 0.5BTC, price is negoiatable.

That depends upon how you deposited it, future difficulty and when he deploys ASICs.
There are ways to reduce your waiting time, however.
Current predictions on Pyramining site (without deployment of ASIC) is 72 months to break even. Once he deploys ASICs this will dramatically reduce.
Ah, that's great to hear. 72 months seems a bit much =P.

I just deposited 0.2 BTC, about how long will it take to pay this back?

I will do that now nocube, thanks for the tip. (EDIT: it's done)
BTW I am thinking about starting posting pictures according to a 6 day rotation schedule:
Day 1: Hintless! Day 2: Movie or game (I'll be asking for the title) Day 3: Object, place, animal or plant (I'm asking for how we call it) Day 4: Person (I'll be asking for a real or a character name) * Day 5: Random, with hint. Day 6: Text (I'll type some random word on the picture with some random font, and the first to find what it says wins) **
* I need some opionions on this one. Three cases: I put Freeman playing God in the picture and: 1. I am asking for a character name OR I am asking for a real name. 2. I am asking for a name and I accept both real and character names as correct answers 3. I am asking for a name but I only accept one of the two as a correct answer.
I think 1 is the best. 3 is more luck based and 2 doesn't allow for clever pictures. I mean it would be fun to have to guess the character every now and then instead of the name so that if someone recognizes actors easily he won't have an advantage when asked to guess the character's name. What do you say? 1 or 3? 3 is more luck based. 1 is probably the best IMO.
** This has never been done until now so I might consider today day 6 and start the rotation but I need to hear some opinions first.
I like the rotation idea, Day 6 sounds like a lot of fun! And yes, case one would be bets, otherwise there could be quite annoying situations.

1. Everyone wants to be an early adopter Feathercoin Billionaire. 2. FC price is overvalued right now so mining it is like 300% more profitable than Bitcoin mining, so all the miners are here trying to spark interest and demand amongst buyers. 3. Another scrypt coin I guess 4. Most FC supporters are new to the forums, and I think they see this as their get rich quick scheme.
*hides under his desk awaiting the barrage of Tomatos from FCers*
Don't be afraid of the tomatos! *pulls CoinHoarder from the desk* I bought some FTC on 0.028, it's not 0.05 (LTC), so my investment went from about 0.5BTC to 0.8BTC. I'm not really new and have some BTC, but yes, I did want to be an early adopter to get some quick extra BTC. You're completely correct, and I can deny that I have different intentions, but I do not. I beleive it is a buble going to burst sooner or later, and I'll sell by then.

What exactly is BBQ coin?

Are you sure? I thought BTC started with Algae and magic? Of course they all 'started as an experiment'. My point is that 'where' something comes from matters to it's future. The fact that feathercoin started with the obvious PLAN to mine a ton, sell it fast and make money matters to it's future.
I don't think so - that is the magic of innovation - the internet was designed by DARPA as a computer network to survive a nuclear attack - not for Facebook or disruptive cryptocurrencies or any of the other many phenomena it has spawned. It's all a part of this ongoing experiment there's no point getting upset about it. The only thing that 'upsets' me is that the new 'fly by night' coins that keep popping up are just redressed 'flim flam' coins that does nothing to innovate, solve a new problem or even pretend to have any 'meaning'. They are just 'launched' at a whim and the 'developers' just hope they will become popular. Just a 'dirty' process I think, and it cheapens the early innovative coins by existing. True, someone needs to work on a coin that solves the out of control block chain growth problem which is starting to bite hard now. What exactly is the control block chain growth problem?
