2221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XMR Monero price poll - what is XMR/BTC rate by Dec-31-2016 ?? on: October 05, 2016, 10:24:20 AM
Sure, laugh at me if we're out in the Ort belt with $25 + per Monero in December by all means.

Is that... past the Kuiper belt, and on its way to the Oort cloud ?

I just checked in to this thread to see how it was playing out - and I stand corrected... A belated 'thank you' is due to you.   Oort cloud, I hope - but most of my early pessimism is thus far playing out.  So far we have dipped way lower than 90% of people voted for initially.

Having predicted 0.0075, I of course hoped it would not happen and was also terrified of going to far below my target stash in XMR.  So I sold too little near the top.  If I had been bolder and followed my own advice, I would be a richer and happier man.

Such is life...

I now think much below 0.01 will see huge support, and if we go below it will not be for long.   Possibly below 0.009 briefly - but the fundamentals are too good to not snap back up sharply.  There has been no final capitulation yet.  The slide is a smooth down slope.  My instinct says one last hard spike down will sort it and the bottom will have been found.

BTC moves are the variable that means I will simply wait and see. That which I have not sold so far I am keeping and hodling.  My low ball buys are in awaiting any moves that may surprise us.  GUI will hopefully help, but any significant (to 0.02 or more) rise may have to wait until at least February now.

That is my best guess. Based on bananas.

How about this for "Soon" (an excerpt from The Gates Of Delirium)?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__E2MCi35ZA

Are you new to monero too? Soon is nothing new here. I still need to buy more, so not soon is better. Tongue

No, I'm not new to Monero, I've been around since pretty much the beginning in early 2014 and at one time was all in for about 16K Monero.  Unfortunately, when things came to a crawl last year I "diversified" my portfolio which was a huge mistake.  I've been watching, reading and learning a lot, I just rarely post.  Right now, I just really need for this to hit a new ATH again and help me move a little closer to retirement.

"Sometimes it's better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!"

Hahaha... No worries my friend. If you trawl my post history, you will see me admit to dumping 15K+ xmrs a month before the halvening due to feeling overexposed.

Regrets are a constant in life. Nobody can predict the future, but I'm definitely a lot more wary of selling off the remainder of what I had left. I too have been into XMR (MRO LOL) since 2014 as my history shows.
You are definitely right, if only we can predict the future then we are already rich now. Anyway, I think we have to sell our Monero now, I am losing my trust already, the recent trends tells me one thing. "FAILURE", after the big pump, I think it will die soon... I hate to say this but that's how I feel.

So "die" = "price goes down"

Let's ignore the fact that the price is up several 100% this year still.

Shhhh!  That's supposed to be a secret... Let them sell us their coins in despair because 'Monero is dead'  Wink

I dont talk there. Buy anyway he said no one is using XMR at AlphaBay so I guess he doesnt care anyway

And he was wrong about XMR, so it's a little hard to take his comment seriously.

Good luck with your next short, be interesting to see how it works out for you.

So what I was worried about AB seems not to be so spectulative....

And some verndors are also complaining:

Waiting for my coin since 5 days. Support not answering.

Also have about 400 BTC what apeared send but i havent received anything !!!
Please AlphaBay dont follow Oasis...fck 400 BTC Sad

Not sure what these have to do with XMR....

Cause the rise of XMR began with the announcemen of Alphabay acceptance.
After Oasis did exit scam the price drops.
When now AlphaBay is doing the same, im afraid XMR will also drop like hell. That fucks me up so much with these darknet markets.

Did a quick search and I couldn't find anything about AlphaBay issues...

But maybe I am not looking as hard as you - idk

Browse the DeepDotWeb siite and they show real time up/down status for markets.

Doesn't say it's down....

The official GUI may never come so dump your coins to my bids, please.

Only buying here, you can't have my coins  Wink

Preview of the MoneyBit GUI - an alternative GUI implementation by one of the community members

http://webm.land/media/X5dj.webm

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/554p08/moneybit_gui_preview/

Wow - pretty quick - after all this time the official GUI gets beaten to it, inside weeks...?

Doh!

Volume up and a fight at the top of the 13s - is this the fightback, or a dead cat bounce...?
2231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 30, 2016, 10:13:55 AM
Price short term is likely to go down i think but if you plan to hold a long period of time you are still likely to make a profit(less than if you had bought lower). I did the mistake of buying to early i guess, the real bottom is probably much lower than this.

This weekend could well see a rise up.  If you have funds spare, set some buys in below current price to catch dips, but it will turn up quickly when it does, so if you are looking to buy anyway, don't wait too long!

Sentiment is low.  And as they say 'when there is blood on the streets - it's time to buy'

EDIT: I am far from qualified to offer investment advice and since I didn't sell as many as I should have on the way up, I am very obviously not that smart.
2232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 30, 2016, 09:35:11 AM
veeery quiet here....which is always an indication that things aren't that rosy.
Despite the usual suspects and their proclamations, the market doesn't seem to share similar bullish sentiments.
Testing .0150 on low volume and without the usual spring back, I think we could be heading towards the next fib support level of .0124 by late weekend.

Beginning to agree that the lack of a GUI wallet is being perceived as indicative of scam by the reddit hordes; it doesn't matter what the reality is, perceptions count (cf the clod Trump running for president).

Just to give you some credit, nano... Good call and still well under 3K BTC on buy side looks weak.

Looks like 13 will struggle to hold.  Volume is up a lot, so it will turn - but at what point is as yet not clear.

I second the GUI situation too - not a popular view on here, but I am in agreement on that too.  Soon™ isn't funny anymore...
2233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 30, 2016, 09:28:46 AM
Dam i always buy before it crashes  Angry I think i will wait before i buy more, not willing to risk(and possible lose) more money.

I found a video where a guy predicted that xmr will have one additional raise, this makes sense but it will probably be only 3 to 5 times the current price, but the price can also go down a lot from the current level.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzlPqLumipg

So it could go up, but might go down?

Hmm...

As to buying here IMO - we cannot go much below here - a shade under 0.01 is absolute worst case.  If we do go that low, it will only be temporary and will snap back up pretty sharpish as long as BTC does not take off significantly (German bank news etc).

So any buy in the 13s or lower is probably not buying you will regret. This really is cheap coins
2234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 30, 2016, 09:09:06 AM
0.0135 seems to have much support >:-)

I wish you were right.
2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 27, 2016, 09:32:13 AM
how do you think about price monero
next monero can up to 0,02bitcoin every one monero again or not
maybe month november, if next year very long time wait to take profit

No idea what you just said  Cheesy

Moon soon again? It is all the same :p

More MoonArrow please!
With the recent big price drop of monero, I have lost my confidence on buying this coins again, maybe I have to accept that it was just overprice during the last few months and now maybe I will just hold a little and focus in Ethereum.

At fives times the price it was two months ago?

Srsly?

Is there someone who can explain the 12% loss?

As I wrote, look to the lending market. A lot of short positions have been opened. These are going to be closed soon + money which flew regulary into XMR will bring it in 5 to 10 days above 0200 i guess. Its just a matter of time. Keep calm Smiley
Would you (or any of the others) consider BTC's performance in the next couple weeks a wildcard toward this happening?

Of course it is potentially, as are new kids on the block like Zcash etc.   Maybe...

However, fundamentally XMR has an upside with way more room than BTC with all its issues and it's solved a lot of issues BTC suffers from. BTC isn't going away so by all means have some of both and sleep soundly, but I think dumping XMR now is foolhardy.

Blood on the streets...?  Buy.

I call it a discount.

Others call it a falling knife - but the brave will catch it with sure hands.  Personally I am buying, this is the chance to scoop back up the coins I sold on the way up... much cheaper.

If you believe, buy - if you don't, sell.  I believe we are oversold now, you need to decide for yourself.  For me, 0.015 or lower is just too cheap to miss.

2238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 24, 2016, 08:25:30 AM
Resistance at 0.019. Support 0.0165.

With 1300 BTC to get to .019, I'd suggest resistance is closer to .018.

Perhaps it's Amonirex's Cheap Coins Point

.0188

Are we to get our French Weekend™ after all...

It's Friday evening where I am and looking promising - nice sexy green winks already  Wink
I really love my Green Eyed Lady! I've been with her since October of 1974!

Edit: I also see that BTC is starting a slight uptrend... I think going forward we may see them moving in tandem more often than not.

If BTC does pop over 600 and stay looking like it's on an up, then the green shoots might pull back. Previously BTC rises initially had an adverse affect on XMR price... but that was then.  It would be good if they did go up in tandem, but I doubt it...
