2221  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com scam - lost funds on: May 18, 2021, 11:15:35 PM
However the other address has way more BTC connected to it.
Presumably, that's their hot wallet.

I'd used this wallet maybe 2 years ago and I have never been encounter such a problem until I switched to a non-custodial wallet instead of a web wallet because I feel unsafe using a web wallet.  It might once you have a problem is not just easy to fix for them, in short, they had poor customer support and you're very lucky once you get answered from them.

I suggest you guys stop using a very buggy web wallet, there are too many open-source wallets out there to use, it's safe and you have full control over your private key.

Additionally, be aware of the web portal blockchaintradingfx.com. These guys are SCAM. Get away of them.
This isn't the official web portal of the blockchain wallet, it's obviously a scam site if you will use them.
2222  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Accidentally send erc20 to kraken eth address on: May 18, 2021, 10:58:15 PM
why all major exchanges can manage to give a client 1 eth address and catch all erc20

only kraken not !

giving no eta of solving this is just very weak
It seems I heard different issues the same as yours and there's no clear answer from them if the problem has been resolved.  The same happening on this Reddit thread that I have found and it was posted two months ago, someone Kraken staff answered there but there's no clear response at the end if the problem has been fixed.

This is might very risky for them to recover your fund and might lead them to be compromised their hot wallet, if I'm not mistaken, they ask for payment for this and if you are willing to pay, probably there could be a chance.
2223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's never too late to start on: May 18, 2021, 10:38:26 PM
First thing first, you should learn how to store your crypto assets correctly because that is very important and never forget the private key that under your control.  Crypto investment in the long term is a good idea and I rather say, focus on Bitcoin investment which is safe and we know that it will always have ATH every 5 years I think based on the history.

I want to start trading again. Could you please give me some advice so that I don't go through things like a few years ago.
To tell you frankly, trading and investment are different things here.  Trading is very risky if you don't know the technical stuff, it won't work while investment is sort of safe because all you have to do is wait for the perfect time of selling and when your profit was there.  I may advise, learn first and have your own research before you will start in trading.
2224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues dumping even MicroStrategy purchased additional Bitcoin. on: May 18, 2021, 04:37:41 PM
It's obviously a FUD by those people who have a weak hand, continues panic selling is might the reason the price continues dumping.  I will not mention the influencer's name but most likely he was triggered to make FUD and the reason for this recent dump.  After he replied to the tweet of @CryptoWhale "Indeed" and his company didn't now accept Bitcoin, it might people start selling their Bitcoin and until now most of them are keep selling on it.

Additionally, it was mentioned above regarding China banning crypto businesses.  This is now a great example of how risk to the price if there's a big institutional investor and decided to sell their Bitcoin, it really has an effect on the Bitcoin price.

Whatever the reason is, at least we know how Bitcoin investment will work.  It will resist soon and might I saw the potential of having a new ATH after this recent dump.
2225  Other / Meta / Re: What Would Be Your Reason to Leave Bitcointalk? on: May 18, 2021, 04:04:44 PM
Quote
Age, family, life, and/or personal problems prevent me from being active.
I voted for the similar one and it's almost the same.  I know my recent job consumed a lot of time than in here but I still have found ways to be updated on what happened in the crypto space and besides, there's nothing good crypto forum to hang on to, it's Bitcointalk.

Bitcointalk has been a part of me and even in the crypto world, so I don't have any reason to leave since this has been given me a lot of benefits.  I've learned a lot on this forum, it's sharpened my skills and knowledge about blockchain technologies, and even my English writing skills were improved compared it before.  Considered also, there's an extra income in here. Wink

It might death or physical/mental disability will be the reason to leave in Bitcointalk, as long as I can able to read or still have visual impairments, Bitcointalk is always good to hang on and the reason why we're still here right now.
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 17, 2021, 11:34:19 PM
It sounded like a lottery though! But this isn’t a great idea in my opinion.  I think it would be better to use the fund on advertising and educational videos that would make the people know why they had to be vaccinated.

Publishing experiences of existing covid suffering patients without exposing their identities is more effective to this.  I wonder if the backlashes and negative reactions to the approach are already there.  But I can rest assured, people would react crazy on this.

I still remember the days where I was convinced to take make buy booster shot for anti-rabies.  It was the approach used and without any hesitation, after watching the video they produced before the vaccination process I actually rushed to be vaccinated.
2227  Economy / Economics / Re: Economical Politics by an insane guy is the reason for this crash! on: May 17, 2021, 11:14:10 PM
We've all here having assumptions about him which I don't think it's true.
However, this already happened before, it’s just that it wasn’t Elon Musk and the people that did this didn't do it with their personal accounts, they used people to troll.  I'm pertaining with the whales possibly more powerful than Elon Musk.

I think this one is a wake-up call from Elon Musk.  He might have a hidden agenda that would teach us how to decide better, handle our emotions, and not be carried away with public stunts.  It's being said multiple times already, always get along with the whales, as for now, they have the right to drive the Bitcoin.  Wait for your turn to become one soon and you’ll do the same, whatever the reason, just keep it on hold.
2228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh, market manipulation is finally bad now? on: May 17, 2021, 10:50:01 PM
In any type of investment, manipulation was there not only in crypto.

It is really funny how it works and Elon Musk doesn’t give a damn with cryptocurrencies before, but due to the people’s demand, he decided to try it out and find cryptocurrency as brilliant.  But for me, I don’t think we had to worry about it.  Elon Musk is equipped with a lot of best advisors on his payroll that would help him strategize their decisions.

It is funny as on the other side when Mark Zuckerberg posted a picture on his Facebook account with his goats and has a caption with their names and they were called Bitcoin and Max, we all know that it was one of the greatest moves on how not to be sanctioned but still let the people know that they have to invest in Bitcoin.
2229  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔴 Breaking News - Elon Musk is going to part with all his Bitcoin BTC on: May 17, 2021, 04:10:00 PM
I'm tired of seeing this name "Elon Musk" everywhere in the entire forum there's a lot of threads regarding this.

I think instead of pointing out with Elon Musk, we have to be wiser enough to study the patterns, analyze the data and be proactive.  Let’s stop the nonsense, people are using the move Elon Musk did to hate him publicly and to release anger and envy.

People always find loopholes to people they envy and then use it against them to attract more people to hate.
There's also a possibility that people are really trying to trigger Elon Musk, then like a snowball effect, Bitcoin goes down and then they go in to make their move.  Be wise people, be wise!
2230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Elon Musk? Is he harmful or useful for Bitcoin? on: May 17, 2021, 03:34:29 PM
I didn't look one-sided on this situation about Elon Musk, even though ignoring him (which is well deserved) is also our decision.  There are pros and cons here towards him if you only see the negative effect, you will most likely ignore him if the positive side, appreciating him.  That's because we had a different perspectives view on him.

IMO, his role in the cryptocurrency space and his participation are needed to grow.  We aren’t kids here with ego issues.

Elon Musk only pointed out the loopholes in the cryptocurrency structure and I think if we’re going to consider that as positive or constructive criticism, then we’re halfway to perfection.  Elon Musk’s idea about Bitcoin is valid, I don’t really think of him reacting with it without a proper and solid foundation to back up his opinion.  He has a lot of analysts on his payroll so I don’t think this is the problem.

The only thing to do here is to develop more and let's now go ahead to the future where Bitcoin Miners are using 100% renewable energy soon.
2231  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Fake alert during p2p trade on: May 16, 2021, 04:11:05 PM
I have some questions about your story and how the scammer totally compromised the account of the seller even though they're using P2P exchange which is purely decentralized and that decentralized exchange platform can act as an escrow between the seller and the buyer.

Whatever it is, we should be vigilant every time when we have a transaction through the internet and dealing with unknown people.  However, those making transactions with someone else that you didn't know are very risky.

This is the most we careful upon dealing trading using fiat outside, it could be a chargeback and possible fiat transaction could be reverse by requesting chargeback by the owner.   Unlike using Bitcoin and other altcoins, it has a very fast transaction and it was shown publicly broadcast from the network.  At least you can wait until 3 confirmation process.
2232  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Simple Tips to make a fire-proof Cryptocurrency Wallet on: May 15, 2021, 04:44:44 PM
Copper is not a good choice.

One of the best and cheapest tested plates (Safe Seed) in JamesonLopp website is made of copper, it survived all his torture very well, and here are melting points of most metals:

Aluminum 1220 F  or 660 C
Aluminum Alloys 865-1240 F  or 463-671 C
Brass 1650-1880 F or 900-1024 C
Copper 1983 F  or 1084 C
Stainless Steel  2750 F  or 1510 C
If you don't mind the price cost of the metal you can add these too.

Tungsten - melting point at above 3,000 degrees celsius, I think that's enough to have a fire-proof and now your problem is how to engrave the private key, that kind of metal is very solid.

Just make it simple, print the private key into the sheet of paper, and put it into the vault with a cover of high-speed steel, and surely it is fireproof metal.
2233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIB Coin prediction and influencer on: May 15, 2021, 04:21:41 PM
How about Vitalik Buterin donated 50 trillion Shiba Inu coins that worth $1 billion, to aid funds for Covid-ravaged India?  Is this will not have an effect on the price in the long term?  It said that 5% of the total supply circulation has been donated.

I can't give yet more specific feedback or insight about this coin because I technically don't have an idea on this new hype coin now.  But if you have enough funds to try investing in this coin, why not?  It might worth it and like meme coin (Dogecoin) will do the same in the future and earn 5x or more than 10x profit waiting ahead.  Who knows!
2234  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reputable escrow without network fees? on: May 15, 2021, 03:54:24 PM
it was my misconception that the network fees would cost me 200+ usd while dealing in btc... as its not very high i'll just use whatever means the escrow uses and ive decided to go with ognasty.
Like BTC fee, the network fee also highly volatile so you can't find the fee in the fixed region but all you can do is to consolidate all the inputs when fee is too low like 1-5 sat then you can make transfers with low fee, because weight decides how much you need to pay not the value of BTC.
That's a huge fee if that is $200 cost just for the transaction fee.  For now, at the moment, the transaction fee costs only 10 sats/vB above and it only costs approximately $0.69 which is very low.  I noticed since this month that the transaction fees on the mempool are frequently low.  Always check and monitor the transaction fee on the mempool.space before making any transaction in Bitcoin because it is also volatile that anytime it will increase up to even 100 sat/vB.

Any P2P exchanges can act as escrow by themselves, there is no need to hire an escrow service.  If you trust that exchange then, good for you to buy and sell Bitcoin there.  Like LBC, Hodl Hodl, Paxful, and many more, I suggest having your own research first.
2235  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Must Beware of Scammers on: May 15, 2021, 03:20:29 PM
All suggestions and comments are above are right, in short, we should have proper research before deciding to invest and knowledgeable enough will always take advantage against the scammers.  Because scammers are everywhere not only in crypto, even though in the fiat system there are people who easily fall into their trap and become one of their next victims.

Newbies are believing crypto was an easy money maker, they don't even know the risk on it because technically, they don't even have an idea how it will work.  So, newbies, I suggest always have proper research first before putting all your money in investment or even that fund is you can afford to lose.  Because all valuable assets that belong to you are very hot on the eyes of scammers or prone to be scammed.
2236  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoins did Tesla earn from selling cars? on: May 14, 2021, 05:00:25 PM
I don’t think their transactions with Bitcoins push though, they didn't provide any numbers as well.  It was only two months since they accepted the payment method but the point of sale for the latest model from Tesla would take at least 1-3 months to process.  Well, it might they now knew how complex it is to accept Bitcoins as a payment method in the back end of the accounting.

If in case that some transactions pushed through, I don’t think that they already have it accounted for on their accounts.  Probably for the 2 months, I think it won't be more than 10 vehicles sold and surely only local clients were able to secure transactions but we will never know.  Especially with the influence, he made from the community.

I think the best thing here is that, regardless of Elon Musk being aboard, we still have a lot of things on our deck and Mark Zuckerberg is still there, as well.

Let’s just for the things to happen soon!
2237  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: A member LIST .. What do we speculate the price will be this summer JOIN IN on: May 14, 2021, 04:46:30 PM
It's nice to see you again and this contest.

Mine, $49,500 per 1BTC.

Reason: We know that Bitcoin price has no infinite growth and it will always have a correction after it will be pumped.
I followed this Bitcoin Price Prediction for years and it seems their forecast almost accurate and based on their prediction on this month of June this year, it's around $35k-53k range so I choose $49.5k for Bitcoin price.
2238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which crypto should I invest? on: May 14, 2021, 04:19:41 PM
SAFE + MOON = no brainer (literally)
Haha, you nailed it and I tend to agree with this.

Don't waste your time and money investing in a new project without even use in the ecosystem, it's literally insane believing they make a profit but it's high risk and possibly turns into a scam.  There's nothing sounds promising on this SafeMoon, to be honest.

Why not put all your money on Bitcoin instead?  It's proven and tested that you will potentially make a profit through its nature, the volatile.  Sometimes people blindly believe in the hype, they even don't know what is the use of the project that they invest in.  Remember, always have DYOR.
2239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to debunk the Bitcoin Energy Consumption drama on: May 14, 2021, 03:59:36 PM
They could be compared to what is happening to cryptocurrency now, but somehow cryptocurrency is different than the PC.
Personal computers are there already and already caused damage by being produced and also the stage where people are using it.  And now, cryptocurrency is only the second one there.  But IMO, these are pointless, it’s not the Bitcoin that has a problem, it is actually the energy providers who have to step up and do something to help human nature to survive and at least recover.

I don’t think energy consumption is the main thing here really, it is the favor of the higher people with it.
I’m not really sure why Elon stated that thing in his tweet but seriously, I find it really disappoint and funny at the same time.  It’s like hypocrisy on a different level.
2240  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin donated billions to India to fight Covid-19 crisis on: May 14, 2021, 03:20:21 PM
I feel sorry for those Shiba holders or investors, it might this coin now dumped and Vitalik is their big whale.

IMO, feel bad with the people who went into Shiba investment to gain profits and then realizing just after their glorious celebration, one of their biggest coin investor has been sold to be donated in India.  Like seriously?  How on earth did Vitalik decide to do it?

Let’s just say that Vitalik was able to help a lot of people in need, but I don’t think it has to be investors and the people who stayed in the cryptocurrency who has to suffer and get punished for it.  This might be the main reason why Shiba went to the floor and this is really hurting their heart.  Well, this is how it is so I think we just had to handle it and I hope the money will put it into good use and that's a great help to them.
