2221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon X13 POS Only - [Simulated POW through POS]- Get your CON on!! on: February 24, 2015, 04:36:10 PM
Just thought to share that BTER is back again, so @Crestington, if you find it noteworthy to get listed there, then let's do it again... Smiley

Yeah I'm not sure. I heard it was back up a couple days ago but trading is still disabled. I still have 8 votes per hour though and CON is ranked 49th out of 250 so I guess it all depends how the restructuring pans out.

Oh that's awesome. I had an idea to start a coin where every Bitcoin holder got some. Now I'm just holding my paycon ready for the honors program. My 50 CON will get me $1000!

I'm pretty great at php but I'm taking a break for a while. Looking for Bitcoin opportunities.

What is php mainly used for? I remember rewt made an exchange for someone with php but it had been hacked. From my understanding php has a lot of security holes and not well suited for Cryptocurrencies in general.

More novices use php hence the bad reputation. There's also problems with large integers that if you didn't know about can cause losses. Many beginners also forget sql transactions and let race errors happen. But Facebook and Yahoo use php exceedingly well.

How versed are you with C/C++ ?

I also created paycon.slack.com group if you want to sign up, you can even do it with a throwaway email address and helps for people to communicate a little more privately.

Lets do a little example with PayCon Staking!

PayCon Stakes at 30 Coins per Block in all Blocks at 1 minute per Block. This makes PayCon generate 43,000 CON per day, every day or 15,800,000 Coins per year, wow!

Staking starts at 2 days and a maximum of 14 days of Coinage

Current supply is 3.4 Million

Only 30% of the supply is actively Staking but the Coin generation per day is fixed

This means that if you owned a large portion but in large Blocks, you would Stake at the minimum Stake age but would still only generate 30 Coins in a Block where you could generate more with more Blocks of a much smaller size. If you held your Coins but never Staked, you would lose approximately 1.3% per day.

If you were Staking constantly, your share of the 43k per day would depend on the amount the float actively Staking and their Block sizes compared to yours. If only 30% of the Coins were actively Staking with average Block sizes, you would on average gain 3X on your percent of the supply relative to the increase in supply a day. PayCon actually has higher initial inflation than PayCoin, but higher inflation isn't a problem if it's equal across the board, a fixed amount per day and no costs or staff you need to pay.

The reward for PayCon at 30 CON per Block was only supposed to be the maximum and not a fixed amount but no Proof of Stake Coin has ever dealt with a fixed amount per Block and IMO it's actually better to be a fixed amount because it encourages more active Staking and better security of the network.

PayCon, Proof of Stake only, pretending to be Proof of Work

If I'm wrong about this then I would like confirmation from someone else cause such high inflation would make any price floor unsustainable.

What does this mean?  Well.. it means that there are 34 pub keys associated with "prime nodes" which stake @ 350%/yr.  Yes... that isn't a typo.  Prime nodes have a minimum quantity of 125,000 XPY and, for ease of calculation and playing it conservatively, we'll assume all address have this amount.

So... according to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xpy/#!rich there are 51 prime address.  Since there are 49 pub keys associated with higher than 5% staking rates we have to assume, and have found to be the case at least according to the richlist,  4 addresses will stake at 5% like the rest of the plebs (balances found below in edit).

125,000(.05)(4)+125,000(.1)(3)+125,000(.2)(2)+125,000(1)(10)+125,000(3.5)(34) =

25,000+37,500+50,000+1,250,000+14,875,000= 16,237,500

So that's an additional, after one year, 16 million two hundred thirty seven thousand five hundred coins just from the "Prime Nodes" in additional coins added to the blockchain.  That does not take into account anything else except the "Prime Nodes".

Hyperinflation will take care of this coin on it's own.

If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.

EDIT:  Edited due to faulty rich list.  Further digging shows that there are 49 prime nodes to match the 49 pub keys.  The additional 2 must have been a coding or mathematical fault.  There are, however, 4 wallets with balances higher than all 49 of the prime nodes, shown below this.  For the purposes of easy math, I have adjusted the 5% staking above to 4 instead of the original 2 even though the actual staking will be much, much higher on three of these wallets.

Please keep in mind that there is an additional issue that the above doesn't address... coin age calculation:

Hey guys, I just want to add my 2 cents to this scam thing.
The following formulas:

https://github.com/GAWMiners/paycoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L974
Code:
nSubsidy = nCoinAge * nRewardCoinYear * 33 / (365 * 33 + 8);

and
https://github.com/GAWMiners/paycoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L1962 ending with line 1999
show how the nCoinAge is computed. Which means the following, 350*CENT parameter is converted to 350/365 = 0.96% daily compounded rate, or yearly this means around 3250%. Whoever coded (copied) this coin has problems with math and 350% annual rate (if this was desired) was converted to 3250% rate

Vlad2Vlad... not trying to be mean and all... but are you sure you developed PYC?

Is that including the compounding of the generated Coins as well?

The 350% hashstakers aren't even being used at the moment according to the PayCoin Block Explorer and Coins are being pulled out of the Stakers once an hour in order to limit the amount of hyperinflation, otherwise XPY would be generating at 1 million+ Coins a week.

Edit: I found a 350% hashstaker https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xpy/address.dws?PQ6PJmpSVqiNZZZKbYxccQzFVoUzebqUS3.htm

and the 38,000 XPY generated and sent to this address is the same amount of total XPY generated in the last 24 hours.

During a previous week, Feb 1st-8th 400k new Coins were added to the currency supply or approximately 60k a day, the reason for the drop is because now they have Coins being sent out of the hashstakers into a collection address. If GAW were to have 50k XPY in all their hashstakers and left them there, there would be more than 1 million Coins generated in one week.

38,000 Coins for me, and 20 Coins for everyone else.

Happy dumps for everyone!!!

I just noticed the XPY inflation rate is 10% APY [Annual Percentage Rate].

So the 10% monthly inflation rate, quoted earlier by someone is obviously wrong and way off.  So a $20 or $50 price floor can be sustained if Garza has a real business plan with positive cash-flows.

I am starting to question your ability to understand code...  Below is a quick and dirty explanation why your 10% inflation rate statement is well... bullshit. (Oh and it was posted Jan 5th...)

If you can't do the math, let me know...  Here's a hint though... it has something to do with compounding and differing exponential increases...

Could you elaborate in details from the Paycoin's code, that make you think so... Huh

Thanks,

ZiG

I already did in this thread on one of the more important ones... but I'll summarize it:

1) Orion Controllers require a hard fork to get what they're advertised.  Currently the tx fees are destroyed and they're supposed to go to the Orion Controllers and Prime Nodes as an added "payment" for holding x # of coins.  This isn't too big of a red flag in itself but to spend "months" on a coin release and have "professional" devs build your coin only to have something as trivial as transaction fees being destroyed when they're not supposed to be is, in my opinion, weak.

2) The wallet release was so horrid that there are still constant posts on HashTalk and poor souls entering the realm of IRC looking for help.  Some had such a fucked up wallet that their coins were actually locked up in that piece of shit and they couldn't do anything about it without help.  It was very obvious that there was very little, if any, GAW support for their qt wallet release as well as very little "non-zencloud" expertise among the gawlets themselves.  Thousands of coins were, and possibly still are, at the mercy of good-hearted souls to recover.

3) Prime Nodes... 49 prime nodes that have stake rates of 10% (3 wallets), 20% (2 wallets), 100% (10 wallets), and 350% (35 wallets).  Each of the pub keys in those lists are linked to a priv key (not a paycoin address key btw so this was literally built to be anonymous as to which wallet gets what until the blockchain shows through the transaction) that tells the wallet to say it is a prime node.

One thing is that there are 49 prime nodes but 50 keys.  The extra key could be anything from 10-350% but I'm going to assume that it's a 350% key that's the odd man out.  This means that most likely there is an extra priv key for whoever Josh picks (who do you think Josh will pick to possess that key?) to possess it that stakes higher than the rest of the network suckers.

Just an fyi: The normal staking rate for Paycoin (XPY) is 5%.  This means that there will be extreme and unbalanced hyperinflation affecting this coin shortly after the 35 350% prime nodes start dumping/selling/trading their enormous stakes.

4) Revalation noted that there was additional code that I didn't see.  I have looked at the code and verified that the additional line @ L974 gives additional numbers that just, well, hide in plain sight how the interest is actually calculated each coin day.

Code:
33 / ( 365 * 33 + 8) = 0.00273790757487762382809259105617

Daily Rate * 350 = 0.95826765120716833983240686965901
Daily Rate * 100 = 0.27379075748776238280925910561686
Daily Rate * 20  = 0.05475815149755247656185182112337
Daily Rate * 10  = 0.02737907574877623828092591056169
Daily Rate * 5    = 0.01368953787438811914046295528084

So above you will see the daily stake rates for all "tiers".  If that doesn't show that there will be unequal inflationary pressure on this coin, then nothing will.

So there are 4 specific reasons why I can not approve of, recommend, or support this coin.

In my opinion, it is not a question of if it will fail... it will fail and it's just a question of when.

The 10% monthly inflation rate was not off at all, it was the actual increase in the supply in the last 30 days taken from the PayCoin Block explorer. Of course that is only what that amount is now as compounding increases exponentially over time.

Have you by chance worked with the Clams distribution before? I am looking for some help for my other project and want to learn it myself. What I am thinking with the Clams distribution is that later on as a Blockchain gets too large that all the excess Bloat could be trimmed off rather than forever bootstrapping an increasing ledger. Personally I think Blockchain bloat is a huge issue no one ever really looks at. There is so much I still need to learn myself, this is a great learning experience for me but I hope to find a few people that can show me a few things rather than having to dig through google.

How about you teach me your ways and I'll give you some CON?

I wish I could help but I'm a php developer. Never heard of clams. Loljosh made bitpopcoin for me back in the day.

Yeah loljosh made up some sourcecode for me as well but I ended up reworking all the code myself, changing all the values, adding in all the icons and images, changing the algo, adding in a couple features. He has a better compilation setup for windows than I do though so has helped me here and there with a bit of compiling and mining.

What can you do in php? I don't know php at all but all coding languages are pretty similar.

The Clams distribution is where you take the balances of one Blockchain and set it as a redeem script on another Blockchain in which you can use your keys to retrieve the Coins.

omg no way its finally happening for you I'm so jealous let me know if Anderson is a nice person in real life and not just on tv thanks

I'm pretty sure he's a bit of a dick in real life.

I've got it on good authority that PayCon is the place to be, there is nothing like EVERYONE getting 500% per year and not just a few people Wink Of course that is just an estimation since Staking works in a similar way to POW in that the reward is the same for every Block and your reward per year is based on your Staking activity.

Still can't figure it out that even if it's an ICO SCAM, then how much would the devs been able to rake in into their pockets by dumping this?
Also, if it is like they will come up again and say something, do they think that any investor will get into this again? I lost a lot myself devs, so once again I plead you to please say something, as the markets which you guys have established seems to be a good concept, but leaving it like a used and thrown away thing ain't a good idea, as due to you guys only, people will only take crypto-world as a P&D scheme only and nothing more than that.

The CamorraCoin dev said that Omega looked a lot like the Promethius P&D group work. Why deliver a real product when everyone buys the hype?

The ICO was 30 BTC plus what they dumped after to completely drop the market for 20 BTC, then it also looks like they bought it all back at 400 and sold again at 600-700 so my guess would be a total of 60-70 BTC all up. 20k USD is not bad for 2 weeks and pretending to do some work on TOR markets  Roll Eyes

Even if it's not a scam (and I'm pretty sure it is now), with such a small amount of Stake per year it would be nearly impossible for it to trade back at the ICO or allow for people to make any ROI.

If you are a bit savvy with compiling from source as well, you can also change the split and combine thresholds in the wallet.cpp file to help you split and combine your Blocks more efficiently and at a later date, user adjustable thresholds will be part of a wallet update.
...

You mean this part in wallet.cpp?

22 unsigned int nStakeSplitAge = 5 * 24 * 60 * 60;
23 int64_t nStakeCombineThreshold = 500 * COIN;

Interesting, but then I have to compile again.

Yes, you would have to compile again.

If you were running on Linux, you could compile it into another directory and switch as you need.

The actual function of what that does is that after 5 days, it will combine multiple Blocks under 500 and the reward into one single Block. If it's past 5 days and you Stake with a Block but it's the only Block in the address or above 500, it will still combine the Block and reward into a single Block. You wouldn't want all your Blocks combining though as it's important for security of the network to have a lot of Blocks competing on the network for Stake and more Blocks gives you a higher chance to Stake.

If PayCoin hit $50 a Coin, those hashstakers would be generating $10 million a day and Josh would be doing his happy dump dance all day Tongue

That would be more sell pressure than BitCoin

I agree and I don't know if $50 or even $20 would by sustainable for XPY.  Maybe it is - there are simply too many variables I don't know.

But it would be a good way for Garza to make a lot of money whirl also saving face and paying back his customers that made him rich.  A lot to gain for doing the right thing.

I see it as a real possibility and even as a good chance that it will happen.

Unless you guys really believe Garza dumped at $20 and is now just hanging out and wasting his time putting up with trolls just cause he's bored.  Is that what you would be doing if you were rich and you just scammed people by dumping at $20?  I wouldn't - I would be gone and moving on to something better or just enjoying life [away from troll forums].

Buying XPY below $1 for me is a no brainer.  Like I said before, I could be wrong and if so then I'll lose a few Bitcoins - but if I'm right the potential is much bigger than the risk and that's the best you can ask for with speculative investments.

Cheers!

Up to you, it's not like you aren't starved for information.

There were 1.2 Million XPY generated in the last 30 days, an increase of 10% of the money supply where pretty much all of it is coming from those hashstakers. My beef is that it doesn't reward holders at all and only really works for sell pressure against the majority of people. You might make 50-75% on what you bought if it goes to $1.50 but Josh and his crew could make 1 Million+ in that time from Coins in which they got for free and are generating an unlimited amount of Coins. Their complete dominance on the Coin generation and severe lack of PR skills are what's stopping it's success. No one wants to buy a Coin in which all the money goes to some shady guy who sanitizes his forums and constantly does backdoor dealings based on false promises.

A bit off topic but Ryan Kennedy, (Moolah Scammer) has been arrested in the United Kingdom along with his girlfriend Chelsea. http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2wwdtn/alleged_mintpal_scammers_ryan_kennedy_chelsea/.   Only a matter of time before Josh is in cuffs too, but with a face like his he may be a little safer when he drops the soap in jail!

I saw that.  That's great news.

And if Garza proves to be a scammer like Kennedy then the same should happen to him.

[But hopefully not before XPY hits $50.]  hahaha.

On a side-note:  SYScoin [i think] had hundreds of BTC stolen by Kennedy [from Mintpal].  There's a good risk/reward play right there in case Kennedy didn't blow all those stolen Bitcoins.  If SysCoin gets their BTC back that coin could easily be worth 10-20 fold from here.

If PayCoin hit $50 a Coin, those hashstakers would be generating $10 million a day and Josh would be doing his happy dump dance all day Tongue

That would be more sell pressure than BitCoin

YES, I am GUILTY of buying the coins which I personally believe have been beaten up, are cheap and have the biggest backers and thus the best odds of going up 100 fold.

I have been buying [hand over fist] "scammer" backed coins like MAX, START, NAUT [and of course XPY].

GUILTY!  GUILTY!  GUILTY!  hahahaa

And I am guilty of being here to INVEST and make MONEY and I frankly don't give a shit who's behind what coin and nor do I care if in the end they are all scams - including and especially Bitcoin, which I have said from day One that I am certain it will be the biggest global Ponzi scam ever.

I invest emotionally detached from my money and detached from any emotions and personal feelings about what goes on behind the scenes.

This especially includes Bitcoin which is totally controlled by bankers and centralized now.

This is a fact about Bitcoin which all you whining hypocrites ignore.

All you emotional women will soon realize that you will lose your money but hey, you'll get to hold that giant bag of "legit" ShitCoins.   haha

Good luck with your moral, over-righteous investing strategy.  lol

you do realize you just described whats called a functional psychopath? just be honest about the fact you need exit strategy and try to minimize risk with posting positive stuff about hyperinflated poopcoin

and maybe you should stop contradicting your self. you are saying you dont care whos behind what coin but then say you are betting on XPY because of Mr. Ganza

you are either:
1. denying the evidence of reality
2. condone anything to make money and try to mask it by saying you do not invest with emotion (translation: who cares what the product is as long as it makes you money. who cares if it takes someones savings, kills someone, etc as long as its making money for you)

probably mix of the 2. you are the poster boy why regulations are needed in traditional investing.

you remind me of Mayor of Asbestos, Canada. who is peddling asbestos to africa, india etc. BUT HEY ITS MAKING MONEY! cancer who cares
i hope you buy a house with a shower that sprouts cadmium and you get parkinson (actually i dont hope that but to make the point. do you think people who are gaining money this way is a good thing?). HEY ITS CHEAPER TO BUILD THAT! happening in east bloc of EU atm

I'm not convinced that PayCoin can make investors in the Coin any real profits with the some 3000% a year that the hashstakers get. By PayCoins very design it can't go to the moon because investors in the Coin itself would need to make profits in order for it to do so. If PayCoin was worth $20 a Coin then there would be some $1,000,000 in sell pressure a day, now that would be alright if it was spread out equally among holders but all that is going towards one person. Take 10k Coin for example, it has a huge amount of inflation per year compounding but it was distributed equally so even if it's dropping in price, holders are gaining ROI in the same way only Josh gains ROI in PayCoin.

PayCoin is a shit investment, it would be better to split that amount among 10 promising alts with a fair distribution and good rewards.

There are some Coins available for sale on the alcurex exchange but only limited amounts. You may purchase some directly from the ColossusCoin Community and any money raised will go directly towards funding of future advancement.

how much cost coin in ColossusCoin Community? and where is listen this

The amount from mining was very small, maybe 10-12 million Coins. How much would you want to purchase? and at what price? we can use escrow if you would like.
