BUT, would be nice to get more people into the fold... I'm not brightest on how to get the word out there. Do we have anyone that can post on Hashtalk (if it ever comes back up)?

I have an account there which I would gladly waste and get banned if I could post something to attract new users to PayCON. I'll do it when I figure out what exactly should I write and when to post it Wink
Any dedicated PayCON fan would do it. Post the truth on Hashtalk, spread the word, get banned, switch to PayCON, that's it.

I heard that they unbanned all old users, guess they weren't getting any ad revenue by banning everyone.

Nice theme, good job.

Hey can you take a look at this commit? there has been some people not connecting properly from the DNS seeder the last few days, seemed right around the time I changed the checkpoint key but had also added it to main.cpp

https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/commit/0bd637ce18f562593405446698b305e876ef885b

I'll have a look tonight

Fantastic, I've been consulting with a few other as well, can hit a 2fer an update with the new theme's (although it's easy for people to do anyways by just copying the theme's folder from github)

Getting there slowly. Just updated copyrights and fixed that new link that breaks on the QT compiler. https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/pull/10

I updated the source to be inline and also updating the checkpoint key, resolving the connection issue and getting new wallets done, should be done all done in maybe an hour or so.
1302  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion. Paycoin XPY CoinStand Mineral. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: May 05, 2015, 08:14:19 PM
its funny people fight over the right who can fuck the customers the most. if they would have any sense they would fork it and reduce rate but no. they (not all) want money printers

maybe we should fork it for the community and see if anyone wants to join the fork with no PC's. its been half a year with no features. noone will deliver. take a page from paycons playbook and do something ffs

Wouldn't that fork be called peercoin? And, I think it's trading on exchanges, so anyone can buy into it. :-)

He can't release a new Coin because he has no idea about economics, coding or managing costs. The Prime Controllers are the only feature PayCoin has and has been a good experiment to show that selective advantage in the hands of a few with no transparency does not work because it allows the few to sell their Coins freely. I'm not saying that Prime controllers can't work, I think if done properly that they could have worked if you had the transparency and accounting behind it. The real big killer of PayCoin is the lack of transparency, if something can't be proven either way then people assume the worst.

My alts include Paul revere, miaviator, jonah dorman, mrceo, seriousinvest, Homero ganza, suchmoon, coinfire, among others. Basically I'm everyone in this thread.

The trolls are merging into super trolls...

And back on topic here...

It boggles my mind how one idea like PayCoin can drive so much drama. PayCon has been around since Jan 2nd (a week less than PayCoin), it has 2 unmoderated OP's and no FUD??? It's part of 2 other forums also with no FUD? Why don't the trolls bother PayCon?

Well paycoin has paid shills maybe paycon needs to hire paid trolls.

I'm available for paid shilling

Me too.

Get in on the PayCon Muggle Relief Fund thread https://forum.gethashing.com/t/paycon-muggle-relief-fund-giveaway-may-1st-8th-2015/3158

I'm giving away all my Coins I purchased on the open market (about 15% or 900k), so far have given away 10%.

Basically I am doing the thing that would never be done, I spent maybe $1000 of fiat getting help from different developers and coding it myself, spent about $1000 of fiat buying Coins at spot price, and now I'm in the process of giving them all away.

Bitcoin is too viable. If you're looking to get scammed, buy paycon now! I know I'm all in! This is the shitcoin for me.

https://c-cex.com/?rf=135E4D765359D36F&p=con-btc

Crest can you please use my link in your thread? And I'll add con to my signature. I use the Satoshis to buy con.

Which link? for escrow services?

Edit: Nvm, the referral link to C-Cex

It would be an honor my good sir.

Shilling in my sig, like a true muggle for Satoshi shavings and even having to break my sig symmetry

Ps ccex has a broken site for you

What do you mean as a broken site?

I changed the referral links in the OP's and committed it to the sourcecode. https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/commit/3afb581fdfb6d48e3e1a982bc0c48d74dc6c9fec

Sweet

I mean ccex links to https://paycon.pw which doesn't work

Yes, I already sent a message to C-Cex a couple hours to change it to Cryptoplays along with the logo, I'm sure they will fix it up tomorrow.

press is there any easy way to figure out how much of the coin supply is in dead wallets?

Nope not hard, and nifty tool to add to my collection. I will see if I can throw up a chart.

There are
No activity after block #:
50,000: 14,816 addresses holding 9,011,300 HYP
100,000: 38,796 addresses holding 9,799,091 HYP
200,000: 101,276 addresses holding 44,440,892 HYP
250,000: 112,902 addresses holding 82,474,920 HYP
300,000: 120,138 addresses holding 148,268,693 HYP

Block 200k was Jan 10th, so I don't think its quite accurate to label those as all written off. Block 100k was in September, it could be fair to assume that most of those are not coming back from the dead.

With any assumption, the point here is that there is a significant amount of coins that is held by addresses that haven't staked for a considerable amount of time. Maybe this is why difficulty seems to be pinned in the 20-40 range instead of continually increasing further.

I am rerunning the numbers on this in with more precise code... and I am thinking I was way off

Still checking my code, but this is what my current calcs are showing:

That isn't exactly bad though, it would mean that the active Stakers are receiving more Coins. If only 20% of the network were Staking then in theory you are gaining 4-5X more Coins you would otherwise.

@Cres
Sorry... in the last week I had a lot of work (Full˛ Time  Roll Eyes  ) and no time for check my messages. I do it this week...

Wow, that looks soo good omg! I think I still need to do some work on the muggle theme, doesn't look nearly as good as that.

Hey no worries about messages, I work too Tongue

Do you have a special dev status on c-cex? Yesterday I saw in bold blue color ''"SOMETABLEPIC"[XTP]Dev: @oneof3holes, because it was not so constructive. If a post is"
If you hover a mouse over it says Developer.
You could become a verified developer if you haven't already.

lol, I want less responsibility not more.

LOL, I thought the same thing when I saw the volume right now. Then I scrolled down, and saw......price hadn't changed much since last night.
I haven't had much time to post, there's a lot for me to catch up with daily with all these threads. I'm really excited about this givaway though, it is truly a  beautiful thing.
Everybody is welcome to put a CON address in their signature, and the CON may find it's way in there.

I've been watching it and sending to any addresses that are posted and GHMinting gets a new dump every time it's mentioned.

BUT, would be nice to get more people into the fold... I'm not brightest on how to get the word out there. Do we have anyone that can post on Hashtalk (if it ever comes back up)?

BUT, aside from the Muggle Relief Fund... are there any small projects 'hoped for' that maybe I can try to take a stab at? I have some background in programming, but nothing beyond php and css lately... is there a 'getting started' track to set up on a win7 system? What system do you all use to code in? I've used eclipse in the past, but we weren't like best buds. I was thinking I might look at blockchain voting or something not critical, but might be useful if it ever worked.  Anyone willing to do a small bit of hand holding or post me some links for getting started with crypto programming?

Crypto programming is surprisingly easy when you get into it, I think it's more about the cloning. If you can clone then you can code, it's as easy as that and there are lots of guides for it. You can do it on Windows, Mac or Linux depending on your flavor but Linux is by far the easiest to compile and bugtest with but I find Windows good if you want to do the coding itself and using Github.

I would like to do anon as per ring signatures implemented by ShadowCoin, that would be pretty cool, I already cloned half of it but got stuck on some of the stuff with the use of keys. I would also like to do a Blockchain swap as per the CLAMS method where all the addresses are coded into the first Block, if then you did it after 1 million Blocks then you just start back from Block 0 with the same amount and keep going. Wallet designing is good as well, the theme's are pretty easy and if you had some experience in backend programming then that would be a piece of cake and there is also work that could be done on the in-wallet Block Explorer, fine tuning little things, strengthening the network.

Don't worry, Onetrack. Your money was gone the moment you sent it there, and you would not have gotten a card anyway.

Jesus, it's hard to believe that some gullible idiots really "preordered" that shit.

It makes me lose faith in the whole system because I know there are homeless people with more brains than your average Hashtalker but still those fucks somehow stay off the street despite 100% failing at certain areas of life, like logic and good decision making.

I have a question I need to pose to the users of POS chains.

When accounting for the number of transactions on an address, would you consider the address on a POS stake TX to have one or two transactions?

I can see it both ways.

Technically, it appears to be one transaction as it is one transaction hash.

However, the address is in both the TXIN and TXOUT in the transaction, so the argument can me made that it should count as two.

How do you think an explorer should count it?

The explorer normally counts it as 2 transactions, atleast that is what I normally see.

Just bought a few thou coins, just a small investment to start staking.

Is there an "ideal" amount to withdraw from exchange to wallet for staking purposes?

I.e Let's say I have 10,000 would 10 x 1000 benefit or does it not make any difference?

Thanks or advice.

Blocks under 1000 are generally better for Staking as you want to Stake sooner. If you were to withdraw 10,000, it would Stake around the minimum time and you would receive 30 Coins but 10 X 1000 would also Stake around the same time and so you would Stake 10 Blocks of 30 Coins each for a total of 300 Coins.

You can manage your Block sizes as well with the Blocksplitter tool in the wallet and you can also change your threshold at which your Blocks will split. To change your split threshold you click on "help" and go to "debug window" and click on the "console" tab. The RPC console is very useful, type "help" to get a number of RPC calls. To change your split threshold you type "setstakesplitthreshold" followed by the lowest amount you want your Blocks to split and combine. Eg. "setstakesplitthreshold 400" would set your Blocks in the same address to combine if multiple blocks are under 400, combine the Stake and reward if between 400 and 800, and if over 800 it would split into 2 Blocks.

Am I understanding correctly that in order to show coins held in the original wallet that we have to make a tx of some kind?
Does that not require the original wallet to be corrected?
If that is the case, then why is a new wallet necessary at all?

Another question/concern:  I certainly hope that the holders of coins in the original wallet are satisfied first before creating a new wallet and releasing it to miners, which usually ensues a dump.  If that is the case, then original holders will be at a serious disadvantage.

I'll see what I can do, no promises but I can help where needed.

I see the source in github has the same version as mine, 70122.

I assume there's something like addnode for PayCon. Does anyone have a 70122 node I can connect to? I'm hitting 100% 70121, and I still have no connections.

listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=*yourusername*
rpcpassword=*yourpassword*
rpcport=9456
port=9455
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
addnode=107.170.179.27
addnode=162.243.155.75
addnode=128.199.231.68
addnode=178.62.151.188

Thanks. The first one (107...) still failed, but the second one (162...) hit the spot. Everything's working. Thanks!

Ok sweet, I'll do some investigating and see if I can find the issue there. I think it would just be something Tiny
