I think you shouldn't invest based on someone else suggestions. It is better you need to study the market and start investing.
If you don't have any idea then it is always good to start with Bitcoins. But don't buy all at once instead buy in small amounts and wait for some time see whether prices can correct.
Apart from Bitcoins other coins to consider is ETH, ETC, LTC, IOTA, WAVES and NEO. Check these coins ANN threads and decide whether you want to invest or not.

for my experience in the day trade i set my coins to resell upto 10% to 15% profits, but if asking for long hold i choose one of very new potential coins with have cheapper price and i sell it upto 100% or more than because for me that's the goals of long term hold. |

Alredy approx 2 and a half month gone this year and just see again and again bitcoin going down.Every time i think now its gonna rise it just falls again..and after seeing last 12 hours it gone down 12-14% again now i am started to get worried a little. This never happened with bitcoin since i am into it..i goes down for a month but when it rised it just created new recordes..but this year bitcoin for some reasons is just not able to gain any kind of momentum...we saw in 2017 huge rise..bitcoin getting 10 times within 6 months i think..but now i am seeing something which i have not seen with bitcoin in the past... i am buying more thinking the price is down and its a good time to buy..but then it goes down even further...  Whats you opinion guys ?? Don't woory is too early to worried bitcoin goes uprise more than 20k usd before end of this, just the 2nd quarter of this year sureky the price go to become hugable. How do you do your own research if the coin is a good investment?
For me, I always look on the purpose of the project, the team behind it, what exchanges is it available on etc. And one of the important thing for me is the total supply of the coin.
I also research if the coin is Proof of Work (POW), Proof of Stake (POS), Pre-mined or other.
the idea on you are great basis to know the coins is good investment because the porpupose of the project are very important to become succesful the ico become the coin valuable in the coinmarketcap. for me my idea's to know what is good coin for to invest become profitable i will monitor also the how many coins sold in the market bought by the investor's because if they have many people bought the coins as investment the big possible to increase the price into the coinmarketcap. |
