Not sure this worked as intended.

If I understand the purpose of this thread, he basically have updated his trust list (removed & addedd some users). ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) You are welcome. If the miners decide the future then Bitcoin Core would win, as most miners are only chasing profit and money in the end.
Bitcoin XT is essentially an alternate, a $hitcoin at best with some trivial improvements, and Gavin & company are going to discover how hard it is to compete as an alternative. With the exception of Litecoin and Doge, who are still living off money from the 2013 bubble, I doubt a new $hitcoin of BTC can really propel itself into the top 5.
It is a proposal, the next years will evaluate it and if you do not want to follow the fork simple : don't update the client. What do you mean with a new shitcoin of btc.... bitcoinXT is always * BTC but with 20 MB as blocksize (and other improvements). *if it will reach a large consensus >51% of people or better client, or am I wrong?

Good explanation, I will link this thread when I'll see an user that wants to know more about the '20MB fork" (and other features).
Well done!

I have Bitcoin core loaded and 5 bitcoins in the Bitcoin Core wallet. Passwords kept offline. I was updating the blockchain and my computer got hacked. My balance now says 0 and unconfirmed says 5. Here are my questions
1) Are my coins actually gone or can I still recover them if they are "UNconfirmed" 2) I have several hundred lightcoins and I would like to know what precautions I need to take to stop from having those stolen if I try to update the lightcoin block chain
Thanks
John K
Keep calm, can you post one of your bitcoin address? So we can examine better the situation, thanks. PS: you should remember that if one transaction has received at least 1 confirm it is impossible to 'chargeback' it, due the irreversibility of this technology.

Gavin is ousted. Nobody will use XT. His chain will die off quickly and he'll hopefully be forgotten soon. I just hope the other devs stay at the project. Gavin needs to GTFO.
Can you stop with this useless posts (or better FUD)? Try to counteract an opinion or agree with someone or maybe better propose something against the Gavin's proposal, instead to spread FUD and something like "No one will use XT". How do you know this thing? Well i for one agree with Gavin that changes must be made, better now than later. But his attitude is way off; He sounds like some child; if you dont play with me, ill tell mommy.. If im not mistaken there will be a lot of confusion soon enough, double spending and what not.. Yes, the change it will be needed sooner or later but this time it went in this way (because most probable he was so tired about of the 'not-consensus' by other dev). The unique secure thing that with this modify bitcoin will not go mainstream ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) , a couple of dev can't agree in something, so what we are talking about? I am still thinking they should not decide for us, let them discuss....

@redsn0w thanks a lot
You are welcome. I really don't understand what Greg is saying. He talks a lot about problems in the reddist post... what does he think is the solution?
He is expressing his opinion and it can be wrong or also Gavin's proposal could be wrong (only time will show the truth).

Are there any future plans also for EUR / GBP denominated cards?
I think in the future months they will give us the possibility to request an EUR plastic card, I have used only few times the card due the exchange rate + fees from € to dollar (it would be really nice to have an € card). How about CAD? Anyways, I got the Virtual card and all is working well up to now, very satisfied with the low fees and quick setups. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I do not know, I have heard about the EUR card because one my friend have asked their support and they have replied "that it will be possible in the next few months to request an € card". I suggest you to contact advcash's support, only them can reply to your question.

Do you use (or have) also a PGP/GPG key to sign all the escrow agreements? just asking. However good luck with your escrow service, and don't *fall like me ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftechforum.it%2Fstyles%2Fdefault%2Fxenforo%2Fsmilies%2Fasd.gif&t=663&c=oakCS_tEoJQVtw) (pay attention, there are a lot of dishonest users here in the forum). *I know you will not ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) .

Thanks all you for the useful opinions, now I want to say mine: I think one time later or sooner the price will be more stable than now, and at that point the speculation 'side' will abbandon the bitcoin world and finally bitcoin can be used more as 'money' and spent to buy things. The stable price is a good thing for all who believe in this technology, but not for the speculators (this is the truth and I will be happy if someone will come here and say the contrary). However: I personally think we're seeing an accumulation phase before a trend reversal.
Do you know how much times I have read this? A lot of times ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftechforum.it%2Fstyles%2Fdefault%2Fxenforo%2Fsmilies%2Fasd.gif&t=663&c=oakCS_tEoJQVtw) . Everytime the price is stable "we are in an accumulation phase" OMG the price will pump, but why and how? If a lot of people are in an accumulation phase then sooner they will dump their bag and the price will go down not up, or am I wrong?

If I can say my opinion, bank is the worst thing in the bitcoin world. Because we are searching to run away from the centralization = the banks (or at least this is what I am thinking, and especially this is the concept or ideology) and they want to open a bitcoin bank. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reactiongifs.com%2Fr%2Fdpdfq.gif&t=663&c=FEMc_Osk2QIWkw)

A worst case scenario:
Half of the merchants/miners/users still use the bitcoin-qt, work on original chain; another half of the merchants/miners/users upgraded to bitcoin-xt and work on the new xt chain
Pre-fork coins can be spent on both chain, which means the total coin supply becomes 42 million if you count both chains, then price of the coins on both chains will be cut by half
Hash rate will also be cut by half on both chains if the miners are 50/50 divided. Having a competing chain with almost the same hash power as your chain is a nightmare: It means your chain will be easily exposed to attack ( almost 51%, so the attack will succeed every once a while), double spending and transaction reverse will be daily event if the majority of the hash power on the other chain decided to do so. There will be hash wars which benefit none
So, like Jeff Garzik said, the hard fork is extinction level event, it should be carried out with fully reached consensus
If only the pre-fork coins can be spent on chain than you are wrong when you are saying "then price of the coins on both chains will be cut by half" because the actual coin in circulation now is 14'220'580 ( https://blockchain.info/charts/total-bitcoins) so the price should not cut by half (but you are correct when you say the total supply will be 42 mln | 21mln + 21mln). However yours is the worst case, what if it will happen nothing? And the majority of people will update their client?

... I don't consider redsn0w's posts as spam or causing to clutter up this thread or things like that. He had raised valid points regarding my motive, especially regarding the amount considered, that is 0.1 BTC etc. which I had discussed with very few members. Of course there are people (you can just look them up in the first pages), those who never even know me, talking as if they knew me all the while esp. this guy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=440960He keeps popping up whenever someone accuses me of something.. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) I wonder if this is someone's alt or something.. I know your sensation, I felt the same when I was under accusation by a lot of users. Don't worry everything it will be resolved. Now you should think Who could have done this thing, and framed you... do you have some nickname? If I am to make a list of those who didn't like when they were removed from the campaign or something like that, I will have around 20. Add that to a few I find it queer, or those who will benefit if I get replaced from the dadice campaign (not very likely to that ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ), it would be some 30 or so. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) No way I can actually say who unless I start to guess and toss a coin.. It would be interesting if question replies to my PM. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) 30 possible users, try to check all them and think about this situation. I do not whink he will reply to you, but who knows (good luck). PS: remember also to send a PM to BadBear, he may help you. I think this thread should be opened in an attempt trying to find who was behind this.
For the start, quickseller, i asked already and you wrote that noboday gave you a tip, but why did you check out this age old bitcoin address? Or did you check out ndnhc's valid address now? If so, why? Do you check all posted bitcoin addresses by forum members for possible connections?
Otherwise, what made you check them?
I think he is trying to keep clean the forum from the scammer users, but this time was so easy trick him and question 2 has choosen ndnhc to make this possible.

... The very definition of an absolutely useless poster with no ability or time to think. Posting just to increase count by following the popular opinion.
Useless posts? Are you serious? I post only my opinion like all the others, and it is not my fault if someone open an accusation and after it will revealed 'not correct'. In that exact time I thought those things and I have posted them (if you don't want to read my opinion , you are not obliged.. simple ignore me). Now a suggestion for Quickseller "lock the thread, because all the situation was resolved. All you do is follow the popular opinion and spam. Your posts do not contribute anything and only clutters up any thread. From the posts I listed above it is clear that either you are posting without thinking, or you are too stupid to think for yourself. We still couldn't "prove" ndnhc isn't question2 and ndnhc couldn't prove that address is from a shared wallet or deposit address of a site. It is plausible that user post his old address unknowingly. I am not saying ndnhc is extortionist but it is possible. The fact is everyone can extort someone and post an old address from someone else, for example you also can do this thing with me but you should find a 'correct tx' signed by both the addresses. In this case Quickseller gave the benefit of the doubt because there are not real proofs but only a couple of *screen and that transaction. Maybe an opinion by Joca97 should help, but not so much. (*Here the screen: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1056790.msg11340099#msg11340099) PS: This is my opinion, like the others.. if you don't agree with me - simple ignore me, thanks.

From the posts I listed above it is clear that either you are posting without thinking, or you are too stupid to think for yourself. I am not spamming anything, again : I say only my opinion in that exact time ( knowing those facts) and after if my thoughts are revealed wrong then sorry but it is not me who has opened the accusation. If you want to say "you are posting without thinking" then all the other posted without know anything or am I wrong? No, Carra is right redsn0w. Your posts are, excuse my language as I can't really put it any differently, "fucking worthless". Your posts consist of going along with whatever feels nice and is going to get you the highest up with the most active members and it's both a drain and a bore to have to watch you constantly do that. You aren't posting your opinion, you're posting other peoples. You went from believing he was an extortionist 100% to believing he was innocent 100%.
And yeah, this thread should be locked.
Then, excuse me but it is a part of the discussion. Can I agree with an user opinion or not? However I stop here, so you can't say "you are spamming".

this thread should be moved to TRASH .. "that's just my own opinion". Try to report it, but I doubt it will be moved (good luck). So I keep seeing threads titles like "Gregory Maxwell threatens to sell his bitcoins and find other things to work on" (... and so bitcoin is doomed) or "Gavin Threatens to Quit Bitcoin Development and Join Hearn's Fork" (... and so bitcoin is doomed)
Are those threads for real? if so, What kind of decentralized currency is this??
It's the coin of the insecure people, with a simple fork/proposal you can unleash these type of topics around all the forum. We know from leaked emails that the Bitcoin XT fork has been planned for a year plus I wasn't around much lately and apparently I missed out on something big. What's Bitcoin XT fork? What/whose emails got leaked? Is there any dedicated thread about that? No, I don't think. BitcoinXT is only a name gave by Gavin in these days... but if you use the google search function ( keyword site:bitcointalk.org) you can find a lot of thread about the 20MB fork.
