2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: July 12, 2020, 04:27:46 PM
You know people want easy money, hoping not a scam that they have invested it. Most of the victims were newbies but I hope that those victims learned their lessons to not fall high ROI in just a short time because this offer is mostly scam.

For sure there are always some newbies that are going to fall to this kind of scams since they don't have enough experience.

When I was getting started in cryptocurrency I probably go invest in some scam website because you know it, because it has big profit that you wanted.

There are probably scam websites that you could still earn with an affiliate link so I try investing anyway since I want to profit but end up to the website to close getting all of the funds.
2282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Record Revenue for Blockchain Gaming Company During Pandemic on: July 12, 2020, 01:53:07 PM
Animoca Brands, the firm behind noted NFT-powered games The Sandbox and F1 Delta Time, has reported record revenue amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

Animoca Brands, the firm behind blockchain-powered games The Sandbox, F1 Delta Time, and Crazy Defense Heroes, has reported unaudited revenue for the first four months of 2020 of $7.34 million amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first quarter was Animoca Brands’ strongest on record with $4.33 million in revenue, followed by a record month with $3 million during April.

Animoca Brands held $6.08 million in fiat and crypto assets at the end of April. Roughly $770,000 of the company’s holdings comprised Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH), alongside $1.12 million in various altcoins.

Animoca attributed the increase in its crypto holdings to successful sales involving non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for its titles The Sandbox, F1 Delta Time, and Crazy Defense Heroes.

The experts think that the coronavirus lockdown has fostered a “change in behavior” among many new and ‘born-again’ gamers that will last into the longer-term — with gaming becoming a cornerstone of their entertainment-seeking rituals.

How do you think about this? Did you start playing blockchain games at home because of isolation?

Quote

We are surely going to see a significant increase because of the pandemic since a lot of people are probably going to work at home blockchain gaming companies etc. is going to be a trend.

For sure for some people or at this time they will have thoughts about working at home just like streaming, making videos, etc. At some point, we can already see that a lot of creators is going for it and it will be a trend for sure because people will have a lot of screen time at the time of the pandemic.
2283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be the ideal currency of the future? on: July 12, 2020, 12:33:49 PM
When I say ideal I mean:

  • People cannot born them from blown air and some day they will not be able to earn from coinbase's rewards.
  • Over time, it will still have value.
  • It cannot be spoiled by human.
  • It is decentralized, no one controls it.
  • You can send/receive the currency really quickly.

These are some basics requirements for the ideal currency. But I have a question. There are public and private keys out there. You can take anyone's public key and send him/her bitcoins. In the future, like 2100, you understand that technology is advancing. Those years I believe that brute forcing a private key will not be something impossible. Do you think that bitcoin will be spoiled by human in the future?

Should bitcoin use SHA512? Or something even stronger?

I guess bitcoin technology really is futuristic having this digital currency or digital money seems to be the future.

As of now, there are still so many countries that are using physical money or fiat money but when you're thinking about future its more like of advance technology when it comes to currency or money we could say that bitcoin or cryptocurrency really is the most advance as of today that is really suited in the future.

For sure we want a more reliable, fast transaction as we get more advanced technologies in the future. Some better technology could exist in the future but I guess bitcoin is the best at the moment.

2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your experience trading cryptocurrency? on: July 11, 2020, 06:41:37 PM
Been trading for quite a while now and it took me time to get to where i am today coming from a noob in trading. Trading cryptocurrencies was one hell of an experience for me Grin.

The first cryptocurrency i traded back in late 2018 was bitcoin and i lost a whole lot of money trading it. I guess i didn't learn enough about the crypto market and the volatility involved before delving into it  Undecided.

Ever since then, i picked another instrument of choice. I went into the FOREX trading. I plan on coming back into trading cryptocurencies but for now i'm still learning about the crypto market.  Cheesy

It was a painful experience though  Grin

What was your experience ?

I think getting the experience into trading really is the thing here. Having that experience you're really going to learn a lot from it.

You are always going to be temp to do something like selling your investment from time to time if you don't have enough experience sometimes your always going to fall in it.

Earning a profit really is the best thing in trading but at the same time, there is a big risk in it.
2285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What or how does it feels to grow in rank?! on: July 11, 2020, 04:52:51 PM
The forum is quite an otherly and well moderated one such that one with the mindset of boosting in ranks regardless of what he or she posts is an abolished fantasy which is commendable. It ensures purity of the forum, lives no room for ambiguous rubbish and motivates newbies to think, research and understand what the forum and world of Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and other alternate cryptos are all about. Each time you want to type, it's just got to be the right content and if you don't, you can barely grow in rank. Hence, these lives a lot of we newbies in wonder how it really feels.
Have you ever wondered what it felt like to grow in rank?
That's a question for the newbies as I am myself one. This question has and still puzzles my mind on how it really feels. I guess a lot of you with ranks now where once in these shoes. I guess I'll find out in time by experience soon enough how it does feel. In the meantime, how about some you guys tell us, how you really felt.
We would love to hear it!
How about experienced

It really makes you happy when you reach a certain rank here in the forum but at the same time, it would really take a bit of hard world especially you need to earn merits in order to rank up.

But I guess getting the knowledge, learning here in the forum really is the best experience aside from ranking up, it's not really a competition ranking up so there is no pressure.
2286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Visiting official websites and download official apps, not fake ones. on: July 11, 2020, 03:55:53 PM

Don't:
- Google to find official websites because you can find phishing sites.
- Don't search on Google Play or iOS store to find applications.
- Don't click on links that are sent by anyone to install any application.

Google has one of the most notoriously slipshod app approval process, this make it app store most dangerous and anyone trending on it should trend with cautions. I attributed many mistakes to our inability to distinguish between fake and original. Here are some tips:

Check app developer: The name of the developer should be correct in spelling.

Ensure to disable app installation from unknown sources.

Check app permissions: you must be smart with this,  dubious permissions are on app store.

Always read reviews of others.

I guess we always end up googling a lot of things on the internet and we cannot really avoid it.

I think we just need to be aware of the website we are going to visit most of the time when you google a website the first one that is going to appear is the legit one and you can easily tell most of the time when something is wrong about it. But for sure you are going to have doubts if you don't know or its your first time visiting the website.
2287  Other / Meta / Re: Paraphrasing, is it ok? on: July 10, 2020, 04:44:15 PM
No, it is not accepted.

[TIPS] to avoid plagiarism. It is an old way to plagiarise and is classified as Text spinning/disguised plagiarism.
2. Intentionally plagiarism
2.1. Fake Paraphrasing
It is a lowest level of plagiarism when people usually change just a few words from original texts/ posts.
2.2. Text Spinning
They intentionally use posts of others, and over paraphrase them using softwares.
Text spinning/disguised plagiarism
2.3. Translation Abusement
They intentionally use posts or part of posts of other members, such as from English, then using Google Translate in order to automatically translate those texts into local language, such as Russian or any local language they want; and vice versa.
New sort of plagiarism

Agree, That is unacceptable and very obvious.

He just changes a few words or something we can already consider it plagiarism. Even paraphrasing should not be allowed since you just copy some sort of text in the internet and make it to something that is yours.

But in general, if you really know what you are saying you are constructing it on your mind anyway. And kind of answers could be or will be similar but copying the construction of the sentence etc. is not acceptable.
2288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the difference between a bitcoin address and a bitcoin wallet? on: July 10, 2020, 03:05:24 PM
Isn't the address is same as wallet?

In short,  bitcoin address is like your bank account number.
Wallet is like your bank name (they manage many bank accounts ). 😀😀
It's simplest explanation for new members I guess.
If you want to receive money in your bank account you just give your IBAN in EU or Swift code outside of EU.
In the same way,  if you want to receive btc funds you just give your btc address but of course don't share your private key.

Well said, Also pick the best bitcoin wallet that you could find and store your bitcoin in that wallet and then find the most reliable bitcoin wallet in your country when you could go in and out of your funds.

With that, you could just store everything in the best bitcoin wallet, and then just send a few to the other wallet when you want to withdraw. Keep in mind that every transaction of your bitcoin wallet is recorded in the blockchain.

2289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: July 10, 2020, 02:44:05 PM
Especially in the wall observer, you will see people that want bitcoin's price to get increased. Although, if bitcoin price goes down, it's good for many people too. For example, I want to get decreased so I can buy more BTC

If we assume that there are only people with huge fortunes on bitcoin, then yes, it's too bad if the price goes down. But, except from those guys, there are the ones who are waiting to buy more. We never heard anything from them  Roll Eyes

Not really, It is normal to be kind of happy when the market price goes upright? since we are earning a profit when the market is pumping.

But for sure their are so many investors that are waiting for the market price of bitcoin go to down in order to reinvest or invest their money in bitcoin for potential profit in the future.

Even short term bitcoin investors also invest in bitcoin when the market price is a dump and keep on investor when the market is going down.
2290  Other / Meta / Re: Where do Locked topics on the forum move to? on: July 09, 2020, 08:38:16 AM
I know have been on the forum for a while yeah sure do know that but that doesn't mean am not permitted to ask questions to what I definitely dont have idea about, so they say we learn new things every day and also there is this parable that says: those who asked questions when arrived at a strange place: (DONT MISS THERE WAY or DON'T GET LOST) so I took this medium to ask this quick question:

1. Where do the topics go? after a Minute I set my eyes on it and I come back again to check for that topic I won't find it

2. Who has access to locked topics in the forum apart from the creator of that topic?

There are chances that it might be deleted if lock by the moderators if the topic was locked it might not be deleted it will not be lost.

But as so many topics also created in the section the locked topic will not get bump since it is already locked so it will just be pushed on the last page or somewhere in the ending pages.

The OP could lock his topic or the mods.
2291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Btc address scam checker! on: July 07, 2020, 05:57:59 PM
Are these all legitimate websites?

Seems to be a great website if it's relying on reports from a lot of websites online. I like the concept to know if the address is a Address of a scammer.

But still, I'm guessing this is not 100% accurate? or some results could also be manipulated by the scammers? or even the website is own by scammers.
Legitimate websites or not, should you rely on them for your decision-making process? You should NOT.

I don't rely on them, personally. Third-party websites are only for reference and you should NOT solely rely on them. The scam tag, check progresses and their algorithms are unknown. Even when they publish those algorithms pubicly, we should still NOT rely on them.

Further expansions: Investors can visit coinmarketcap.com, coingecko.com, messari.io and many other crypto market sites but if one simply relies on a single site to make an investment decision, they will end with bad someday.

Use any sites you want with your own due diligence and be aware of phishing, scam sites. Always do your own meta-analysis for your decisions.

Got your point, it's not really recommended to use this kind of BTC address checker, or maybe you could use it for some reason but do not really totally rely on the website.

At least for some newbies or your just new in trading, cryptocurrency, etc. you could use it to get some info but do not rely on the website, do your research, etc.
2292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Btc address scam checker! on: July 06, 2020, 06:46:01 PM
Yesterday, the thread This is SCAMALERT was released.
Some other sites:
In the past, I spent time to create the thread Where and how to check a bitcoin address is used for scam purposes?

I also requested it Tag and scam report buttons. How do you think bitcoin developers?. After months and think of it repeatedly, I believe the feature is not needed.

Are these all legitimate websites?

Seems to be a great website if it's relying on reports from a lot of websites online. I like the concept to know if the address is a Address of a scammer.

2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest to this project ? on: July 05, 2020, 09:05:59 PM
Hi , I have never invested for a project , i need to invest for a project and i have an idea to invest on this project - https://curioinvest.com/car/4
But i need your opinions about this project ? Is it a Scam project ?
Will it be Profitable for me ?

It seems like the project is very professional and legitimate but still, I would not recommend investing in any project, especially at this time.

I've seen great projects that have a very professional website and have a great potential but in the end, the project end up being a failure. At this time if you are planning to invest the best thing to do is do invest your funds in trading. It is also risky but compared to other investments this is better and has a higher chance than investing in unknown projects.
2294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you hide your identity with bitcoin? (100%) on: July 05, 2020, 08:35:20 PM
I was having an argument with a friend. He says that you can't be anonymous to the bitcoin's network. Both nodes and wallets use, leads to an ip address where information can be found.

I had read in this forum that you can hide it with hardware? How exactly?

I think somehow you can hide your identity by I guess it's not possible to hide you identify 100%.

Every transaction is recorded in the blockchain, third party websites, the wallet you are using also records every transaction.

Talking about VPN? somehow the VPN you are using could also see your IP address. If you own a BTC wallet, VPN network, etc. it would not still become 100% hidden.
2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can online gambling help to kickstart the global economy? on: July 05, 2020, 08:19:00 PM
Most people would say, gambling is a destructive activity and that it only destroys lives... and in a way I agree with them. The thing is, everything comes with good and bad and gambling is not an exception.  Wink

Regulated and licensed gambling operations are obligated to pay taxes.... right.. well every Dollar added to the government fiscus helps to fund large projects. These projects create new job opportunities and also income for unemployed people and also stimulate the economy when these people use that money in the retail industry. (Food & Services)

Some people actually win at some of these casinos and they win big, so this money also goes back into the economy and these gambling operations employ people to run these casinos, so that is also a added benefit of these online casinos.

What other positive things can you think of that online casinos can add to the global economy?

Big possibility, if the online casino becomes more popular at this pandemic it would really help to boost our economy.

As every gambling casino also pays taxes and regulated by the government, just like other businesses if businesses stop operating just like what happened because of the virus the economy would surely be affected.

So having online gambling would really affect the economy like giving jobs etc.
2296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I have an idea about betting on bitcoin on: July 05, 2020, 07:48:46 PM
I have an idea. I will not implement it, I don't know if already it exists, but I would like to post it. Tell me, if it would be dumb.

These days, there are many online casinos with games like poker. I wonder, how would a betting price site would be?

Like betting 0.01BTC on the price of bitcoin. If, I've bet that by tomorrow it will have pass 10,000$ I would get the analogous amount of BTC
If the price wouldn't, I would have simply lost my funds. There is a difference with poker here, tho. Central authorities, cannot control it. So the man that has the site, may bankrupt. On the other hand, I think we can admit that online poker (especially with real money) is never on pure luck of the cards.

I think their are already platforms the offer that kind of betting game something that is like a bitcoin price prediction.

Also, I think the post belongs to gambling discussion since it more about betting.

2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 05, 2020, 07:28:43 PM
Allot of people are making investment in Bitcoin, even with the risks involved. Everybody want to own Bitcoin. Many have half or more than half of their portfolio invested in Bitcoin already, This digital currency is becoming  almost common to all, when everyone owns a Bitcoin who then will care about it as it will be as common and a boring investment.

I believe this is a treat in the Bitcoin market value, could this actually bring down the market? Or it is a sign for feature increase in the market? Your thoughts are welcome..

Boring somehow? I think you don't really invest in bitcoin?

The movement of the market price of bitcoin in the past months? bull run etc. That's not even boring at all. Maybe since the market is sustained in 9k$ at this past month you are already calling it boring.

If the market price pumps again or even at ATH would you still call it boring?
2298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your main goal... ? on: July 05, 2020, 05:42:49 PM

Probably for most of the users here the main goal is knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency so that you could use that knowledge to earn bitcoin or funds on your own.

We all know it, bitcoin is digital money we all want to earn bitcoin here. For sure for most of the users, the easiest and most effective way or could also be the main goal is an investment or should I say Trading.

Faucets
Airdrops
Mining Apps
CPU mining
GPU mining
Try Apps, software
And a great etc

I think probably all of this is not a good idea for most of the users here and you cannot really earn in that methods, so i would stick in trading if you don't really know some of it.
2299  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit begging or complain on: July 05, 2020, 01:44:59 PM
I have responded this user in a thread of bitcoin discussion and instantly after the response, I received the following PM from him. He is looking for merit, but indirectly.
Bitcoin is one of the best platforms in the world. I've been working there for a long time, but I didn't get a merit.😥
Would you say this begging for merits? However, I have checked his post to merit but got nothing.

I think it can be merit begging for some reason, but it's better to ignore it since it is difficult to assume what really his intention in the post.

Instead, just report him for spamming or low-quality post because his post doesn't really relate to the topic he posted it. The account already have red-tagged for cheating so it's already busted.
2300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake MEW on Google Play on: July 04, 2020, 07:31:13 PM
It seems like it easy to be qualified in Google or maybe they paid google to put their applications in the google extensions.

I've seen also mew in google play store but I've only used the website since it has a lot of security features making sure that the account is secured.

The best thing to do is stay away from this application since there are so many fake applications or wallets online even on google it easy to verified legitimate websites and application if your careful and knowledgeable.
