Interm Report On EpicThomas

He doesn't seem to answer the questions you are asking...

1) We still don't know IF IT WAS ONLY EPIC who wrote the code or did he receive it from someone else.

2) Maybe there are others involved but EPIC may not know there true identity.

If I can give a suggestion, you do not need to give away all those NXT at once. By all means reward the community but also keep a good amount held back in my opinion. We've got a long 2014 ahead of us and those funds spent wisely could propel NXT very high up the market cap ranks.

1t's only about 1.4 million Nxt....11.6 million Nxt is still untouched...i may be off by 1 few hundred thousand.

barely 10% give take 1 or 2 percentages.

Quick post:

I will give the remaining of the 30K giveaway funds I manage to maco for his project - 15K beforehand and 15K after he finished and the community is satisfied.

The rest posters at the old giveaway thread (not the one Anon manages) will be paid from my pocket. Just give me some time guys cause I run like the coyote atm!

I try to persuade my dev team to post here their CVs for transparency - it seems they don't have any anonymity issues but they are making some second thoughts if this is good for them.
They are not Google's or Microsoft's engineers but they are very professional and in any case who gives a shit about these NSA's show cases...
My devs that are helping Jean-Luc:

http://gr.linkedin.com/pub/grigoris-grigoriadis/22/a8a/b80

I hope I will persuade another one to join.

I think we also need in the dev team asap the following: xibeijan, ImmortAlex (part time maybe) and rlh.
can I suggest you add this guy also...ricot

NEWS

The last chance to claim unclaimed coins is over.

We have ~13M coins left and they'll be spent for rewards, bounties and development. Now we are running a reward program. I ask the community to post here links (with short description and link to BTT profile) to projects/persons that helped to promote Nxt. Only projects launched before the 3rd of Jan can apply. There will be several categories, BCNext will choose 3 best participants from each category. I'll contact project owners via BTT personal message to get Nxt account ids for reward payments. The 1st place will receive 50'000, 2nd - 30'000 and 3rd - 20'000 NXT.

I have been thinking really deeply over the pass week about how to drive adoption for NXT and this is my conclusion:

CONCLUSION:

1) Push Anonymous Messaging ONLY on WORLD CLASS DESIGNED ANDROID/IPHONE APPS (OUR FLAGSHIP APPS).

2) Make these APPS available on Google Play/App Store.

3) USE the current market situation to our advantage AS NO ONE IS NOW SURE ABOUT USING THERE MOBILE FOR SECURE COMMUNICATION....The NSA send us a blessing in disguise....AN UNTAPPED MARKET WHICH THEY THEMSELVES CREATED.

4) Once Nxt Messaging has gained a strong following 100,000 - 500,000 downloads we start to Unlock/roll out other features of NXT ....ie. auction/storage/payment/Asset exchange/marketplace etc....thru regular updates once users start using the messaging app they become lock into the larger NXT ecosystem.

5) My real world examples are LINE & WECHAT....both started as msg apps but NOW OFFER IN APP PAYMENTS.

Xioami Chinese smartphone manufacturer sold 100,000 smartphones inside the WECHAT messaging app last month.

EDIT: The above is a Strategy for gaining MAINSTREAM ADOPTION which will give us payment possibilities without the need to push payment as our main selling point....this would be a unique approach for a crypto currency.

Interesting ideas. We should definitely put a footstep into high quality (secure messaging) apps. But i heard there are some secure messaging apps already?

Bittorrent is a major one...but its in Alpha

I'd like to ask what people's opinions are on the subject of illegal content in the nxt blockchain.

How could you prevent this from happening?

2291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 10:25:54 AM
It is indeed best if a forum were used that has no ties with any of the exchanges so that it can act in good faith at all times.

The best way is to host such a forum on Nxt network.

Agree....would also protect forum from being DDOS
2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 10:21:30 AM

sorry landa, I disagree you here. You turn it upside down and have the impression you defend dgex actions.

dgex did what it did and is harmfull for NXT. We forgive but we don't forget.

If you agree with his actions so be it. But I thought you wanted the best for NXT.

same with Uniqueorn first he was kicked by graviton on the forum, next he was a global moderator.

I dont understand what you still see as advantage on dgex and that forum.

Pin

edit correction: it is not as much the forum that bothers me it is the ties with the exchange.

I am in NO WAY condoning Dgex actions yesterday....LETS MAKE THAT CLEAR.

Nxtchg....was also attacked during that period.

an ALL-in-one Info Central App?

Will the app have a notifications function? for breaking news, etc.
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 09:31:03 AM

Don't forget... this discussion was in the middle of the dgex drama and most people were NOT thinking clearly.

It felt to me that the Dgex situation was being used/manipulated to further Ripples aims and not HELP Nxt.  The benefits to Nxt were short term, shortsighted and potentially harmful.

Which really turned me off from the idea.

Yeah, Ripple is a competitor, why use it to trade NXT. Besides, if someone wanted to diversify into Ripple, it's enormously overvalued, at least relatively, to NXT, and I suspect, artifically overvalued, since a lot of it is still being held by one company. I'd conclude, nothing to see here, move along Smiley

I don;t think 4 weeks (~1 week testnet) is a long time to wait for our dear Asset Exchange.

The active orderbook on ripple is in NXT/XRP for now. Wow over 250,000 NXT active! The spread is bid 2.7, ask 2.8 XRP per NXT. Currently BTC is right around 30000 XRP, so 3 XRP = ~.0001 BTC

I insist that you urge people to place their Bids/Asks at Peercover's NXT/BTC gateway... not NXT/XRP.

Having a good NXT/XRP order book makes it more likely that people can find a good conversion path when paying in NXT to a recipient desiring some other arbitrary currency. XRP is the most highly traded bridge currency on Ripple, and having fewer hops when sending payments at market rate is a good thing.

Don't forget that you can spend your NXT via the bitcoin bridge simply by entering a bitcoin address as the recipient on the send page. You then just select the currency that you want to pay with (NXT) and a few seconds later the BTC will get transferred on the blockchain.

It's look efficient but I still don;t like this idea...doing the above will only inflate Ripple's numbers....it does not help Nxt in the long run and starts a dangerous habit.

Anti-coins did, darkNXT can be recovered.

so darkNXT is buried treasure....cool....if Nxt goes to parity with BTC....we'll see a lot of treasure hunters
2298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 06:18:23 AM
Shouldn't James's darkNXT be treated the same as "anti-coins"?

If yes... once the exact DarkNXT amount is known...we should remove them from total Nxt coinbase.

Both DarkNXT & "anti-coins" are gone forever (at the moment)

Guys with distibuted storage cant we basically host nxt forums within nxt network? I was thinking about that if you can give writing permissions to a specific files and stuff like that.

Pls see below link...mini-project underway  Grin
