NEWS

The last chance to claim unclaimed coins is over.

We have ~13M coins left and they'll be spent for rewards, bounties and development. Now we are running a reward program. I ask the community to post here links (with short description and link to BTT profile) to projects/persons that helped to promote Nxt. Only projects launched before the 3rd of Jan can apply. There will be several categories, BCNext will choose 3 best participants from each category. I'll contact project owners via BTT personal message to get Nxt account ids for reward payments. The 1st place will receive 50'000, 2nd - 30'000 and 3rd - 20'000 NXT.

- Exchanges
- Faucets
- Giveaways
- Utilities (blockchain explorer or http://nxtra.org/nodes/, for example)

Please, mark project/person names with bold blue font.

We r supposed to complete the list within 24 hours starting from now.
There are several projects and software coding plans that are asking for a bounty to support their effort. In addition to the announced video-article-whitepaper bounties I managed to award and pay several unexpected coming to desk contributions from our bounty pool. I also created the big-promotion-based-giveaway supplied by our pool (215K) that I then klee and now probably Anon136 are carrying on.
As of yesterday I assigned 48K from our pool for code review and the last 100K I ll use paying for media coverage.

All of these I said to tell you BCNext, that you can find a lot of these legitimate projects waiting for bounties. 13M is so much of a fund and it can be used to supply the whole purposes of a future Nxt foundation. Please do not distribute it in the childish-contest form of Mastercoin project.
Define projects and place bounties for, or find interesting bounty claims and supply them. This will push things ahead more constructively.
Thank you.

As an expeienced project manager I am offering my service in managing some of the upcoming projects. Smiley

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Reward Program

ahcsam, davethetrousers, Ola, rickyjames (alphaphetical order Wink )
project: NXT ON THE RASPBERRY PI

Optimized software package, ongoing project
Communications with the RPi community, their forums
Instructions and support thread
Elegantly showing a stark comparison of NXT forging in contrast to big-rig SHA256/Scrypt mining
Strengthening the NXT network during Denials of Service
Providing ultra-low-cost allways-on clients for everybody

ahcsam nextcoin.org, davethetrousers BTT, Ola BTT, rickyjames BTT

I can't remember just now who else was and/or is involved in the ongoing effort. Please send me a PM if you are one, or if you generally want to have something or someone else mentioned.

This is obviously not the biggest or most important project there is out there, but it could fit in somewhere here:

Quick post:

I will give the remaining of the 30K giveaway funds I manage to maco for his project - 15K beforehand and 15K after he finished and the community is satisfied.

The rest posters at the old giveaway thread (not the one Anon manages) will be paid from my pocket. Just give me some time guys cause I run like the coyote atm!

I try to persuade my dev team to post here their CVs for transparency - it seems they don't have any anonymity issues but they are making some second thoughts if this is good for them.
They are not Google's or Microsoft's engineers but they are very professional and in any case who gives a shit about these NSA's show cases...
My devs that are helping Jean-Luc:
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/vasilis-kokkinidis/5/222/444
http://gr.linkedin.com/pub/grigoris-grigoriadis/22/a8a/b80

I hope I will persuade another one to join.

I think we also need in the dev team asap the following: xibeijan, ImmortAlex (part time maybe) and rlh.

If I can give a suggestion, you do not need to give away all those NXT at once. By all means reward the community but also keep a good amount held back in my opinion. We've got a long 2014 ahead of us and those funds spent wisely could propel NXT very high up the market cap ranks.

Huge delay on dgex withdrawal, now in excess of 36 hrs, and transaction stuck at 3 confirmations.  Dgex now quoting 1 week lead on support requests.  Great work dgex, well worth the transaction fee.  Really enjoying the speed advantage nxt has over bitcoin  Roll Eyes

Blame the Dgex.

And the speed of whitdrawal is amazing for that fee. "Premium waiting line for a premium fee" is the slogan I believe.

1t's only about 1.4 million Nxt....11.6 million Nxt is still untouched...i may be off by 1 few hundred thousand.

This is to be considered stable release. Change log:

Fixed more concurrency issues, performance optimizations and code cleanup.
I have fixed all the visible code issues that I consider to be bugs, the
remaining TODO's on my list are a matter of code cleanup and refactoring.

Added a checkpoint at block 30000 (the start of transparent forging block).

Added wesleyh's update checker:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4294180#msg4294180
Use https://localhost:7875/update.html to check for updates - this feature
may still have bugs, but including it in the package is a good way to get
people to test it on multiple browsers.

I have not been able to find any possible cause yet for the most critical
in my opinion bug reported so far, transactions being sent to a recipient
different than the one selected. I have read through the relevant code
again, but don't see any obvious way how this could happen. I am not
ignoring those reports and believe it may be a real bug and not a user
error, but without a way to reproduce the problem, it is very hard to
track it down.

What if there would be 2 transactions instead of 1? If I want to send 1000 nxt to John, system will send him 1 Nxt first. It will show me - you sent 1 Nxt to John. Do you want to cointinue and send him 999?

That's understandable. What about Testnet? If there's something like this running, someone in can try to send some transactions in logged mode.

Fine, and then the bug will show up at the second transaction and still send the 999 elsewhere. Without knowing where the bug is, attempts to work around it like that will only complicate the code.
