My BFL hashrate seem to be commensurate with my GPU hashrate in terms of U and A in cgminer, just for the record.

I have seen no evidence of throttling with my single. Been pretty constant at 829Mh/s. I have 4 more coming tomorrow so I'll have my first 5Gh computer running in the next 24 hours.  Wink

How much hashing power are we talking about?

12.5% of the network. They are getting around 30 blocks a day. So around 1.4Th if the network is running somewhere around 11Th.

If you took the time to talk with BFL instead of hacking away on your keyboard, you too would realized that the only company that can try to pull of perfection is Apple.

The rest of us just try to muddle through it.

i'm sorry, are you saying apple either achieves or approaches perfection?

LOL. No. They are the best at the illusion of perfection.

I have 3 5970s that each have 1 flaky GPU. On all of the cards, both GPUs are detected so it may just be a case of baking the cards at 375 for 12 minutes to fix any soldering issues.

What causes this issue?

Is it related to: over-mining, over-heating, over-gaming, over-clocking, manufacturing defect, or other?

The cards have only ever mined.

How many people on here have actually received singles?

I have received one with four more arriving tomorrow and another 6 arriving by the weekend.
2286  Other / Off-topic / Re: Butterfly Labs - Bitforce Single and Rig Box on: March 13, 2012, 05:14:52 PM
I doubt anyone would fork over the 30K to get a Rig Box at this uncertain moment.

They may have delivered for the Singles but people are still complaining about them being very slow with this.

Might still be a long con so stay cautious I would say.

Myself, I eagerly await the moment gigavps got his Single but this time with the Rig Box if possible.

Last I heard, the first batch of rig boxes was sold out.

If you took the time to talk with BFL instead of hacking away on your keyboard, you too would realized that the only company that can try to pull of perfection is Apple.

The rest of us just try to muddle through it.

Edited: Sorry, meant to say rig boxes.

Hello fellow bitcoiners,

I have 3 5970s that each have 1 flaky GPU. On all of the cards, both GPUs are detected so it may just be a case of baking the cards at 375 for 12 minutes to fix any soldering issues.

I am willing to accept 40 BTC per card + shipping to your location.

Best,
gigavps

I think 75 BTC is a fair price if they are in good working condition.
2289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accusations against shakaru on: March 13, 2012, 01:40:18 AM
The thread you linked to is fake. Madged comments have strikethroughs which HE ONLY RECENTLY added. I asked for unedited before they started deleting and removing their comments. + gage wont give me his bank account details, strange that someone doesnt want to get paid $500 directly. Anyway I know you were going to give the money to him.

They are deleting comments still. Check the shakaru thread, anything bad gets removed. Check this thread, delete comments aggainst them.

The truth is out anyway, Shakaru you a scammer, a huge liar, a theif & a snitch. He admits he is a snitch in this threadand they are helping him steal the money he is owed. Just monitor the threads if you want proof.

I know what you did Shakaru, other people now know too. I made peace with myself, my conseince is clear.

+1 for so_stupid being a complete idiot.

so_stupid: Bring your lawyers, your spell checker and your self respect. O wait, you don't have any of these huh?
2290  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: so_stupid & I: in re. The $1K Bounty on: March 13, 2012, 01:29:13 AM
If you desire, you can PayPal me and send it via mail with either a MO, business or person check, cashier check, etc.

so_stupid: I guess you could paypal it to him, or maybe he would agree to accept it through BTC.

LOL can't you see what they are doing. liars

so_stupid: Why do you choose to treat people with such disrespect? Maybe you should try plainly laying out the facts and letting the truth speak for itself.

I think Phinnaeus Gage has treated you with nothing but respect choosing to let you speak for yourself rather then accusing you of something.

Why can't you send him $500 in bitcoins if you really want to honor your word? Do you keep your word?

Pirate, check payments from the 11th. There may be a slight discrepancy. Not to complain, but I was overpaid.
My totals still do not add up and by my calculations, I still owe you mining shares.

+1. I was paid almost DOUBLE what I should make in a day.
2292  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: March 12, 2012, 04:38:16 PM
Sigh... looks very nice and pretty full of awesome. I wish I could get BAMT stable and functioning properly, but it constantly thinks GPUs are failed on every single rig I have, even though they run perfectly fine with CGMiner 24/7 for weeks on end, even using the BAMT version of CGminer.

What is the rough price per GPU?

You might want to talk to gigavps, he is running 30Ghash on bamt/cgminer.  The other large farms I know of are not using cgminer, but every report I've gotten about bamt/cgminer since we moved to 2.3.1 is that it works perfectly.  It seems there is a bug in older versions of cgminer that cause it to have issues if you actually use it's API.  Your problem descriptions support that.

Pricing for BAMT Pro services is based on which services you wish to use and the amount of data you wish to store with us.

Inaba, lodcrappo is correct. Ever since I moved to 0.5 with all of the fixes, my life has been a lot simpler. PM if you want to talk.

Due to recent developments, a new thread was warranted in regards to the $1K bounty currently owed to me by so_stupid. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68416.0

2294  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Building a DIY UPS on: March 12, 2012, 12:43:46 PM
FWIW, my electrician said he can get me a functioning (read used) 36Kw UPS for $4k. That would run my farm for at least a couple of hours before running out of juice.

Question is how often do you encounter power outages to make it worth buying this UPS. Also, how much would you make during those few hours.
Also, if you decide to buy it, make sure to check the state of the batteries.

You have hit the nail on the head. My power has gone out once in the last six months and it was for less than one hour. You are also correct that the lead time to make my money back on something like this is going to be years, not months. I also don't know what kind of maintenance you need to perform on something like this to keep it stable and running.

It is definitely more important that I have switched PDUs (* looks over at D&T) to keep rigs up than it is to keep them on when the lights go out.

I guess my main point is that your local electrician is always getting into stuff like this and will usually know of used data center equipment that is in good working condition so there is really no reason to build something like this yourself.

I have three 5970s that both cores are detected on and will start mining but one core dies fairly quickly. I will sell them for $200 each. PM me if interested.

BAMT Pro

Can't wait to use and pay for this service!
2298  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: March 11, 2012, 07:49:45 AM
It's possible to set gpu, mem clocks/voltage with it? CGMiner is not an option, because don't support 6 series radeons mem downclocking and undervolting.

Nothing supports 6xxx series memory downclocking. You'll have to flash the BIOS in order to do that.
2299  Other / Off-topic / Re: Specs on BFL Single power adapter? on: March 11, 2012, 12:24:05 AM
I was thinking of this PSU to run 11 singles -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817814019

I really like the price at $170.

Single 12v rail
Active PFC
1100w
6x 6+2 PCIe connectors

11 singles at 83w each would be around 913w total.

Thoughts?
