It *was* the cAPSLOCK.

But my 15m are evidently over...

At $57,600 the price will have doubled in less than a month.

Going from past experience this usually leads to doubling again in about half that time, and then another.

My theory is that the doublings decrease each time.

There's probably TA based around that but I just go by that.

But this market is not like the previous ones.  And I have no idea what that means including it might do exactly what you are predicting.

But we have never had big institutional money coming in like it might be now...

It may never turn into an unstoppable force and an ummoveable object, but the buyers might just keep appearing while the remaining holders get tighter and tighter.  I am actually more worried this goes hyperparabolic and ends up more vol...

I am going to stop typing.  I have no idea what is coming.  I do not think we have a historical frame for it.

I hope you all realise that proudhon is one of the biggest HoDLers, and owns more corn than most of us...

He just wants to turn us into memes for da lulz...

"But gold is scarce"

Quote from: abc.net
An Australian researcher says there is enough gold buried deep within the Earth's core to cover the entire land surface of the planet to a depth of half a metre.

Lol

There's no scarcity like hard-coded scarcity. Physical elements don't stand a chance.

Shhh.  It is very bearish to say these things!

What if...

What if this is the very beginning of the middle of the "S Curve"?

My over bullishness is going to mean I have to wait for the next cycle to get my little beach shack aren't I?

hoards of bitcoiners would cause high inflation in beach shack prices  Grin

There are not really hoards of us... yet.  And the newcomers have to risk beach shack money to make it...

Maybe it *is* the top?  And there is proudhon...  hmm

2310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: February 19, 2021, 05:05:42 PM

It seriously puzzles me how BTC supporters won't say anything positive about BCH, bitcoin cash is what bitcoin used to be. Low fees for peer 2 peer payments. I guess people will just shill whatever they hold and everything else is a scam though, lol.

NO.

You can refer to the discussions that went on for YEARS.  Keeping the blocksize small and scaling via layers is the tradeoff that Bitcoiners have made and the market seems to still agree.  Hashrate is continuing to drop for BCH while it continues to explode for BTC and the ratio is approaching 1:100 BCH:BTC.

Framing the issue the way you did is quite incomplete.

What you have are two competing paths:

Prioritize low fees to build a payment network first.
Prioritize value storage and develop payments network afterwards.

You are betting on the first.  Or are you just talking your bags?

@StudoesAmerica
Remember the 2017 bitcoin bubble?

https://twitter.com/studoesamerica/status/1362483434678067200?s=21

Actually I remember very clearly the 2014 one.  My family and I were camping on a crystal clear lake for Thanksgiving (a holiday in the country that I grew up in before it was destroyed) and my poor fam had to listen to me going on about how this would not be the end of what bitcoin did... for the whole time.  Of course bitcoin died shortly thereafter.

2312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 18, 2021, 05:44:08 PM
All bitcoins are welcome in my wallet and my nodes. I guess you could run a hacked node to block specific addresses, but man that would have to be picked up by a very large percentage of the network.

LukeJR hardcoded blacklists in his Knots node back in the day. I don't think it was widely adopted even when he slipped it into a major Linux distribution's repository. It also used tonal notation.

I still do not understand how going above $65k would cause this bull market to look more like 2013.  Are we saying that the first of two exponential price rises would come to an end, and then we would have a correction and another price rise.

Yeah, 2013 was also heavily influenced by the implosion of MtGox where for a long time, the only way to exit funds was to buy Bitcoin. Still a good year for those of use without money there though, I guess.

I may live to eat these words..

Each run is remembered by some characterization, event or fingerprint.  The run to 8 cents.. the run to a dollar... to 32, and so on...

But what this run will be remembered by is, in my opinion is the domino effect caused by large investors finally getting the idea of what it is, and understanding the earlier they get in the better the return will be.  It will be bumpy, because bitcoin will "die" a few times along the way, but I think we will see a series of surges that will completely astonish the world.

It is a virtuous feedback loop.  And it is digital... so it is frictionless.

People are just starting to realize what this means.

It took me quite a while to understand "buy the dip".

I really think that easy game is almost over...

Stay warm and safe, friends.
Is this really you, Bob?  Grin

Faced with the prospect of freezing to death, you become pretty fucking cheery when the heat comes back on.

We live close to a Fire Station, so I am attributing our continued power to that... but our house is old... really only insulted with rat skeletons, and we have had at least 2 pipes burst.  Finding a plumber here is... well... pretty much impossible right now.

Where is that dude with his Four Tops theory?

what if saylor is committed all the way. complete and utter maximum possible, with no mercy/care/whatever. let`s assume he decided to not give a fuck about
-the company
-the shareholders
-the banks
-the dollar
-the economy
-the US gov
-rules
-legal issues
-anything
he just accumulates more and more until it all blows up, which will coincide with the dollar and gov and legal system blowing up. only ashes left. and him, owning more btc than anyone else in the world. he could just run off, memorizing the seed to the biggest accumulated chunk of wealth in history.  Cheesy

It is astonishing to watch.  But doesn't he have quite a ways to catch up with Chamath?
2318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2021, 05:34:06 PM
So BTC market cap of a trillion = $54k?

That's current supply not counting anything as "lost", yes.  Potential supply is more like 47k IIRC.

Hats off for him
Don't do it guys!  It's a trap!

Speaking of hats, don't you think it's time for Richy_T to get one?

I had to eat a few AmbrosiaŽ apples for inspiration and finally I was able to come up with what I hope is a suitable representation of Eris (the Greek goddess of chaos, strife and discord) and her 'apple of discord'.
Wear it irresponsibly.

 Happy Valentines's day.
