2301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 14, 2013, 12:10:22 PM
Bitcoin is suffering from unwarranted self importance.

Neither are the FEDs going to manipulate the Market nor are they 'fighting' Bitcoin per se.
They simply are enforcing proper procedures. You can thank Mark K. & the rest of mtgox who didn't thought it necessary to do the paperwork which is required from them.
It is even possible they brought that up onto themselves by a high profile ad in the G8 magazine and nobody would have even bothered otherwise.

in retrospect:

Shouldn't you flip your avatar first?

Perhaps he is trying to encode a secret message with his switcharoos?

Triple top forming since the first started at the end of July? Third peak on falling volume. Thoughts?

single digits by Friday

Welcome to the piss yellow club. You went there pretty fast.

sure why not.
2306  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gap Observer mtgox / bitstamp / btc-e / campbx on: August 13, 2013, 07:29:09 PM
Trading on btc-e has been depressing lately. Nobody wants to get in at 95... I get the feeling this will last till either gox & bitstamp break the previous resistance or it doesn't even get that far and it plummets right after the top without the chance to unload.

This 'community' never seizes to amaze me.

You have incredible fatigue. Bitcoin must really mean a lot to you, if that weren't so sad I would be laughing.
2310  Economy / Speculation / Re: NY regulator issue subpoenas to firms tied to Bitcoin: WSJ on: August 13, 2013, 05:44:04 PM
Muahahaha

Seriously I haven't predicted anything. There are simply too many unkowns and possible scenarios this can play out.
One of these scenarios would be that is becomes more difficult to trade Bitcoins for Dollars which would discourage many investors. If that doesn't happen, well good.

I just don't wanna hear: "No one could have expected this, derp"
2311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is New York Going too far? on: August 13, 2013, 05:35:18 PM
Eventually Team America: World Police will make all Bitcoiners wear a yellow coin badge when they leave the house so the authorities can identify them on sight. This badge will be known as the Star of Satoshi.

<-- yellow badge, I got one!

2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network passed 4000 Petaflops on: August 13, 2013, 05:28:29 PM
The only universal measure is the number of transistors. It wouldn't even be that hard to estimate that if we get the numbers from Avalon & Co.
It's easy to compare to CPUs, GPUs & so on, and it's a "fair" measure factoring in efficiency improvements.
2313  Economy / Speculation / Re: NY regulator issue subpoenas to firms tied to Bitcoin: WSJ on: August 13, 2013, 04:10:07 AM
This could mark the beginning of the longer multi-year bear market.

The last time you predicted a bear market, we were reaching 2, and just about to bounce.

That's true, but this time there is a reason. Wink
2314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is New York Going too far? on: August 13, 2013, 02:45:15 AM
America is crazy. The Bitcoin witch hunt could get interesting. They may even make a reality tv show that hunts down bitcoin miners.

Hey I would watch that!
2315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Federal ruling? on: August 13, 2013, 01:15:01 AM
Bitcoin isn't ruled to be anything. A judge simply said it can be "used like a currency".

This has the same legal repercussions as it was before, namely independently of the medium of exchange your local laws still apply. You need to pay taxes on everything related to Bitcoin which you would otherwise.

This could mark the beginning of the longer multi-year bear market.
2317  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 12, 2013, 10:36:24 PM
There is no legit approach.
2318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 12, 2013, 10:27:30 PM
If mtgox dies that way 266 was the all time high.

Watching people lose money is even funnier.
2320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why won't BTC drop in Value when Mainstream? on: August 12, 2013, 07:54:19 PM

I haven't said there is no use for them. Those things I mentioned are really cool things too.

I fully support cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin, to the extent it makes sense.

As a store of value, it's even better.

Only as long as the price goes up.
