2321  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 09, 2022, 04:11:13 PM
I'm against - merit too, if someone is spamming or making extremely low quality posts, use your report button. Negative merits could be disastrous, since members could potentially take advantage of the function and targets they may not like.

I'm here since 2014, with a few breaks during that period, and pretty much remember how many people were spamming junk posts all over the forum, thinking they could easily rankup enough to be eligible to enter a signature campaign. To be honest, while it's inevitable to weed out junk posters, putting zero effort to make their posts appealing, the condition is way better than it used to be.
Theymos could easily add demerits if he needed to, but I think he would certainly be very positive not to add them given that positive merit would be fine. Spam posts can be reported to moderators for deletion, it will help reduce spam though not all of them.

So far the merit system has been quite helpful in preventing spammers from rank up, so I think this system will do just fine without demerits for spammers or low quality posters.

It doesn't matter when you might really hope Liverpool can win the Premier League title this season (or maybe quadruple), but know that Manchester City have only 100% focus on the League and it will be a huge advantage for them to win all match in rest of season.

I don't think Manchester City will slip as you would expect, it's possible but it's difficult for them to happen especially because the Premier League title is the only title they are likely to win this season. A 3 point lead and goals count should be good capital to expect Manchester City to have a big chance of winning the title, but there's nothing wrong and staying alert about the worst in a match.

The first half is still a goalless draw, maybe Liverpool will score in the second half which will make Tottenham lose. But both are quite likely to score against each other. We'll see who does it first.
2324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 07, 2022, 05:09:52 PM
I don't think Betis winning Barcelona will be that difficult because Betis needs the point while Barcelona has already made it to the top 4, all they need to do now is to play with confidence, determination and team spirit, I see nothing stopping them from winning unless they don't play well which is not possible.
Real Betis vs Barcelona will be live in 2 hours from now. I just hope Barcelona can win this game even if it's just as their way to solidify their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season. I have no doubts about Barcelona today especially after they were able to win the match against Mallorca.

Real Betis will probably take advantage of this match to get maximum points because in fact they still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season especially because Atletico Madrid will play Real Madrid in the next 2 days. It was Real Betis' chance to maximize their chances, but it was difficult for them to beat Barcelona.
2325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 07, 2022, 04:51:11 PM
Chelsea scored 2 goals with Lukaku and took the lead, but in the last minutes they defended very badly and conceded 2 goals. If they had won the match, Pulisic would have been the man of the match. But at Wolverhampton, Trincao scored right after he came in. Wolverhampton put the pressure on and they scored the second goal as the last minute of extra time entered. Conor Coady sent the ball into the net with Chiquinho's assist. Chelsea are in danger of losing the 3rd place with this result.
It's a shame Chelsea were finally unable to maintain a 2 goal win in the last 10 minutes of the match against Wolves. Of course this result is not too good for them considering that currently Tottenham still have the opportunity to end the season in the top 4 if Chelsea do not improve their performance.

Losing quite a lot of points in the last 5 matches makes Chelsea only 6 points adrift of Tottenham who currently have not played their 34th match. If Tottenham win then will only be 3 points adrift, it will make Chelsea depressed. But Tottenham's win over Liverpool is highly doubtful and that might be hard to hope for, it will make Chelsea a bit safer if Tottenham lose.
2326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice for poor people who wanna get some crypto on: May 07, 2022, 11:39:25 AM
Anyone can own crypto either for free, buying it on the market or by mining. So regardless of whether they are poor or not, they can still get crypto if they are really interested in it.

To be honest I was one of those people who didn't have a good income for years before getting to know crypto but nowadays things have changed so I can say that crypto has helped me financially since 2018. When poor people had good knowledge better in crypto than the rich, then the poor will probably be richer than the morons who are rich. I am reminded of the CEO of Binance in this regard, he has changed everything after successfully becoming the number 1 person for his crypto project.
2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 07, 2022, 11:30:37 AM
The Champions League Final match of course will be very fierce, especially now that in the final are Liverpool and Real Madrid, both of which are experienced teams in the UCL.
Real Madrid have overcome tough opponents to reach the Final and they have proven themselves that they are a team with a winning mentality and Liverpool too, Liverpool have played very consistently throughout this season.
The final will be tough but I personally prefer Real Madrid to be champions this season after what they went through I think they deserved to win the UCL.
There is an interesting fact about Real Madrid in the Champions League final so far where they have won 13 titles from their 16 finals so far in the Champions League. It's safe to say that Real Madrid have won the Champions League title every time they have reached the final since 1998, so I don't think they will fall short this season for their fantastic record.

This is Liverpool's 5th Champions League final since 2005, and most recently they won it in 2019. Liverpool have won 6 Champions League titles so far from their 9 finals since 1977, that's a bit more than Barcelona who won just 5 titles. in his 8 participations in the final match. So I think Real Madrid will write another golden stool for this season's Champions League final even though Liverpool have been consistent so far with their quadruple chances.
2328  Other / Meta / Re: OP posting easier idetifcation system on: May 07, 2022, 09:59:30 AM
Can the forum software be upgraded to add (OP) in caps after the user handle so to better know the original poster replies. I know that the original poster replies are written by his\her name but you have to concentrate to find the name of the poster. By adding (OP) just after the original poster replies, the human mind can quickly read the replies of the OP he only wants to read it.
I don't think this feature is so necessary right now on the forums that it probably won't be considered by the admin when he replies to the topic. You should definitely make it a habit to pay attention to who the user started the topic was so you might not need more features to recognize the topic creator's replies on the next page on the topic he started.

But obviously I also don't think your suggestions and requests about improving this feature are too much, but maybe we should understand that there are a lot of things that were not added in a long time by the admin especially about some user requests. So don't expect too much, but voice your opinions and desires is important.
2329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 07, 2022, 09:47:39 AM
Liverpool entire line looks very good, Their defense is quite strong, the midfield can set the rhythm of the game perfectly and the attacking line is unquestionable. The combination of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Jota is able to put pressure on the opponent's defense.
While in the opposing camp, Real Madrid looks very dependent on Benzema in terms of scoring goals. Of course this condition is not too good for Real Madrid, especially Liverpool back line is very strong. Ancelotti must prepare a shadow striker as an alternative if Benzema movement is successfully turned off by Liverpool players.
Now Real Madrid is not only about Benzema because in fact Rodrygo became the hero of Real Madrid's revival when they beat Manchester City with 2 goals. Rodrygo was also the player who lifted Real Madrid's spirits as they beat Chelsea in the quarter-final second leg before Benzema sealed the win in extra time.

So, apart from Real Madrid depending on Benzema's performance, so far they have ammunition that is no less important when the team struggles to break the deadlock. Yes it is Rodrygo, this 21-year-old player has made the difference in 2 important matches for Real Madrid in the Champions League this season.
2330  Economy / Economics / Re: Looks like markets are crashing ! this is it ...it's the big one ! on: May 07, 2022, 09:36:34 AM
whatever the price of my current bitcoin, I better hold myself back with the existing parfolio, by looking at the worsening market situation, you could say, if I buy now there is no guarantee that it will go up . I'd better wait for what I have back I can sell / make a profit
Now $36K or -47% of ATH.
It is true that traders or investors may be able to hold their bitcoin while the market is correcting in the hope that the price will bounce back and recover as quickly as possible. This isn't the first time bitcoin has had its price dump of over 47% of ATH and if I'm not mistaken then it has happened several times since 2021.

Investors certainly know how to take advantage of the current dump market and usually they will buy and hold their assets in the long term and expect a worth it return. A price dump is not the end for bitcoin, it's a natural state for an uncontrollable asset like bitcoin. We can expect a decline, but we also need to know how to take advantage of it to make a profit during price discounts.
2331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: May 07, 2022, 09:17:51 AM
Real adoption of bitcoin certainly requires a long process that requires large capital, only a strong financial company that can adopt Bitcoin,
LOL, you are completely wrong about adoption. You and I can also adopt bitcoin for your small business even though you and I don't have much capital. In general, to adopt bitcoin as a means of payment in your business you don't need any capital, but you just need to convince yourself to accept bitcoin as a means of payment for that business.

another thing that makes many companies doubt is that there are still many countries that are banned bitcoin so they are worried if they make the project then after completion but cannot be used because of the banned from the country.
The problem is government regulations regarding bitcoin where they have not legalized bitcoin as a means of payment so that bitcoin adoption in various countries has not increased much. What is certain is that adoption is free, you just need to have an interest and maybe friendly regulations.
2332  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: May 07, 2022, 08:52:43 AM
Well said, the forum was basically made to gain knowledge, and exchange knowledge from one person to the next person. Informations about Bitcoin and other happenings in the world are told here, and idea on how to handle problems in the forum are discussed.Bitcointalk forum enlightens and educates one on how best you can invest your money safely without loosing. Therefore, anyone who comes here with the sole intention of making money, will end up wasting money on projects that are not worth it.
Those who come just to make money without any other benefit like knowledge then I'm sure they have wasted a lot of their time on this forum. But it is hard to say that they are not knowledgeable at all because in fact they know how to trade and make a profit.

I don't think all forum users are technically savvy with bitcoin and whatnot, but I think as long as they know how to use it and know the basics then I think they are considered knowledgeable. It is possible that an experienced trader may not be able to contribute to the forum because they cannot express their opinion well. So from a different point of view, there are times when people we consider to be spammers may still be knowledgeable users but cannot express their opinions well while writing.
2333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Btc be considered as an everlasting investment platforms on: May 06, 2022, 09:56:01 PM
•Is btc here to stay ?
•Is bitcoin going to be an everlasting investment platforms ?
•Assurance and guarantee of the bitcoin ?
•Bitcoin will replace the physical note tendency ?
Nothing lasts forever in this world and everything will be replaced by time. In terms of e-currencies then I think there is always a possibility that bitcoin will be replaced by another better e-currency with better scalability than bitcoin. Maybe something could happen in the future so I will not be 100% sure bitcoin will be irreplaceable and become a everlasting investment asset.

  • Bitcoin will still exist and probably will not be phased out as the currency that symbolizes decentralization
  • Probably not, but I don't know.
  • The guarantee now is that bitcoin has grown and developed as an adopted currency and means of payment, but things may change in the future
  • Maybe not, but increased adoption is possible.
2334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 06, 2022, 09:46:53 PM
Real Madrid have already secured the La Liga title this season, and now it doesn't matter if they don't play their first squad again in the few games before the Champions League final. But I hope Ancelotti can keep his players fit and rested to prevent unwanted injuries, so Madrid's next league game may not be as exciting.
However Real Madrid would be safe not to play many of its main players at the moment in the league especially as they have to focus on the Champions League. I don't think it's too much to think about because the last semi-final against Manchester City was exhausting and maybe Benzema and some other players won't be available in the next match.

There is a possibility that Real Madrid will lose some points in their next league game and now betting on their win carries a high risk of losing. So now young players and some non-regulars can take part in showing what they are capable of in the rest of the season with Real Madrid.
2335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 06, 2022, 09:27:31 PM
What Jurgen Klopp has done with Liverpool this season is outstanding. He is the first manager ever to reach the Champions League, League Cup, FA Cup finals and still in contest for the league title in a single season without spending much money to buy players. Klopp consolidated on what he has and probably add a new player, spending less. Pep Guardiola spent millions in getting at least two players every season and could not make it to the UCL finals.
Liverpool were lucky enough to get an easy opponent in the semifinals compared to Manchester City where Villareal are an easier team to beat than Real Madrid. I won't deny Guardiola has failed at Manchester City especially about his ambition to win the Champions League title, maybe not so great for a team that has strong financial strength like Manchester City.

But this is not the reason why Liverpool qualified while Manchester City failed because actually football is a game that is difficult to predict with certainty because every team has a chance to win it regardless of how qualified the players a team has.
2336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 06, 2022, 09:22:09 PM
Maybe what you say is true but based on the betting market Frankfurt  little more favorite percentage is Frankfurt 55:45 Rangers track record might be a reference
Another interesting thing is the draw maybe most gambling markets predict winners can be determined through penalties yes this is a bit reasonable
I myself have not made a choice still waiting for related news and personal analysis.

So Frankfurt are the current favorites in the final? it's very good for them and their supporters.
I didn't know much about this team actually before they played Barcelona in the quarter-finals. Frankfurt were the German side who shocked Europe by beating Barcelona in their second meeting of the season at Camp Nou and now they are in the final for the title against Rangers.

When I review their stats in the Europa League there is more belief about their potential for the title this season than Rangers. But somehow I don't think Rangers can be excluded in the final. The chance are 50:50, so both have potential for the title although many people believe Frankfurt will win the title.
2337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term Holders - When Do You Plan To Cash Out? on: May 06, 2022, 08:58:36 PM
I am not a long term holder although I am very interested in becoming one. It is difficult to become a long-term holder when we still want to maintain capital growth by taking advantage of price volatility.

Long-term holders may be able to sell some of the bitcoin they hold only to withdraw the initial capital and start holding for every bitcoin they hold thereafter. If it was me, then I would do this option where every bitcoin I hold is the result of the profit I made so it doesn't matter if the price drops any time.
2338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price is falling? on: May 06, 2022, 08:45:13 PM
There isn't a singular reason that market deemed it so. It is but a feeling towards the price that the general population ended up bestowing the results and their actions takes the prices tumbling down. This does not mean that it is a permanent state of affairs, it is only done merely as a way of showing for today, tomorrow yet hasn't shown what it could bring.

If you were to check the prices right now, you will see that it is not doing that badly, there is a recovery going on and this means that we could end up with a profit and a big increase in the coming days. None of it is known, we are just predicting and hoping that we are right, nothing more can be done.
Everyone can expect the bitcoin price to recover after the correction during this time, but they can also expect the correction to last longer and the price to drop to lower levels. I believe that the bitcoin price is in a downtrend, but that doesn't mean that the bitcoin price won't go up or deviate from the trend.
Predictions can be wrong and so can reality, so there are always bad and good possibilities about the price and that has been something to the advantage and disadvantage of most traders and investors.
2339  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it always about price? on: May 05, 2022, 09:46:20 PM
OP, you probably know that most forum users are traders or investors and miners rather than developers and adopters. I don't think it's unreasonable that prices continue to be the subject of constant reviews and predictions all the time. I can understand it because bitcoin is actually a very volatile asset where concerns about losses and potential gains are always discussed.

If you knew what a speculation board was for, I don't think this question would come to your mind.
2340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 05, 2022, 09:36:32 PM
I am really very happy for Rangers, after suffering for many years and being on the verge of disappearing, they will be able to play in a final.
I hope they win it, although it will be very difficult, it would be great to see them in the next edition of the Champions League. They are a historic team and it is good to see them back in the big leagues.
Really, it was a beautiful night for Rangers as well as Frankfurt. They managed to secure themselves to the final this season after impressing in their respective matches. People are very surprised at Rangers as they are not favorites to the final especially since Leipzig are the opponents, but the truth is the result is in their favour.

But for sure, it is very difficult for us to predict who will win the title between these two teams because I think both of them look balanced in terms of quality. Frankfurt performed well and convincingly beat Barcelona, but they are still doubtful about winning the title.
