2321  Other / Off-topic / Re: Am I being scammed? on: December 03, 2022, 12:37:19 PM
It’s very interesting to me: are there people among those present here who have ever received any amount from strangers just like that? It's quite simple like that. The stranger asked for some small service and, in return, promised a large profit. For some reason, even with such numerous answers, it seems to me that free money is not available to anyone. Or rather, money always has a price, but the one who expects to get it very easily pays for it out of his own pocket and gets a very unpleasant experience.
So why do people go for it? OP, what's wrong with you? Were you at the time of the transfer of money in some kind of disorder, drunk, on drugs, or under hypnosis? Where was your mind at that moment?
2322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk- I heard the name before. I hope it is a great starting. on: December 03, 2022, 12:21:05 PM

2323  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark Mobius Prediction Bitcoin could hit $10k at 2023 on: December 03, 2022, 09:48:38 AM
OP, it would be fair for you to include a link to where you got this information from in your post. I see that you told it in your own words; however, when referring to someone else's opinion, to prove other people's words, there should always be a link.
But as far as predictions go, I don't know a single person who possesses a crystal ball. Whether an event has come true or not, it gives no reason to have confidence in the forecasts of any person, even if he is an experienced investor. I know many stories when experienced people changed their estimates over time.
2324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: December 02, 2022, 12:57:55 PM
There's no doubt that the future of bitcoin is great but with the intervention of companies, exchanges, and the government, they're doing things that are against the principle of bitcoin.
We can't do anything with that but hopefully, someday, we won't be relying on these exchanges to have our bitcoins exchanged into another currency that we have. Without having the need to comply with the KYC and stuff. Because that's what we don't like with these exchanges.

You are free to do so today. Bitcoin does not force you to register on centralized exchanges; you can also still live by the principles that Satoshi preached. Use P2P exchanges and decentralized exchanges. People themselves, yielding to regulators, create more barriers to widespread adoption. We simply go along with those who want to spy on us, interfere, and dictate their terms.
2325  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I got hacked after downloading a file from https://multibitwallet.com on: December 02, 2022, 12:24:03 PM
I tried to access the link you provided but when I tried to download it redirect me to the restoration page where you can put a 12-word seed and password.
Why would multibit ask for a seed phrase and password?
I tried to put the seed phrase and password but when trying to click download nothings happen so how did you download the malware?

And look it's obvious it's fake because it asks for a seed phrase and password in an unsecured way.

Maybe he created a new wallet. The download starts if you register a new account, but the file itself does not give out a virus, although I only checked it through the https://www.virustotal.com/.

OP, Windows, the Firewall, and Avast do not guarantee you complete security. In addition, do not think that your text document did not get to the scammers; maybe you still have a long way to go.

Everything related to cryptocurrency should not be rushed. In a hurry, you are distracted by other things, not caring at all that your data may be subject to attacks. The lessons we get are very expensive, but it's good if you understand this.
2326  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: December 02, 2022, 12:05:32 PM
I just took a glance at first 70-80 votes (out of 100) and, so far, this is how this top look like so far: GazetaBitcoin (22 votes), lovesmayfamilis (18 votes), Ratimov (18 votes), mprep (6 votes), Lafu (5 votes), actmyname (4 votes), The Pharmacist (3 votes), BitcoinGirl.Club (3 votes), Welsh (2 votes), SFR10 (2 votes), suchmoon (2 votes) and 13 more users with 1 vote each. I did not count with 100% attention, I just took a glance, so there may be minor differences.
Whoever these three voters are, they have no idea that the number of reports I have is 16 with 89% accuracy LOL. I don't know about others but I saw how aggressive Ratimov is. Over 100k reports are not something even believable. When someone is voting for me while there are others with 100k reports then they are just simply making fun of it or they are completely ignorant.

I am curious how do you find the numbers. If I understand, you are using Ninjastic but how do you get the detail numbers?

If you're referring to how GazetaBitcoin found the data in the post you quoted, then I guess it doesn't take a genius. Just go through the votes of the people who made their choices, and you will see that you were given three votes. And yes, I admire the ability of Ratimov and GazetaBitcoin to create a bunch of spam reports in such a large number.
But these people did not hide their successes; I have already shown you the topic where they proved it. However, if you want to compete with them Grin, why don't you, I think, and igehhh, since he is very much outraged by the unfairness of the elections, show your progress?
Probably people will re-evaluate because we have the right to correct votes until the end of the voting. Smiley
2327  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dangerous life of crypto-billionaires on: December 02, 2022, 11:05:30 AM
Who cares about how crypto billionaires die and what is so special in creating a thread like this in the Bitcoin discussion boards, all the names you mentioned are not members of this forum none that we know, so what is the essence of this thread?

After all one day all of us will still die but how we will die is unknown to us all, so what I can say is RIP to all of them.

Interestingly, do you always participate only in those topics where only forum members are discussed?

As a matter of fact there were a lot of Russian billionaires and influential people that died this year.

There's definitely something going on there because they happened to start dying after the sanctions were imposed and the rich begun to criticize the government. Especially a lot of people with connections to Gazprom happened to die.

You're right. I also went to look to see how many deaths had happened recently of people with good capital who were strangely dead. Ten top managers die of suicide or accidents. Another strangely falls out of the window; the other is buried in the river. The death of Vyacheslav Taran will of course be discussed, as the events of recent months encourage people to speculate all over the place, including the murder or even the desire to remain anonymous while faking their death.

Registration  accounts differs by only two days. Does someone doubt that he still has about 10–20 accounts, for such an OP who believes that if an account has been registered for more than a year, then it should be trusted?
Entering into trust and promising to teach something is, indeed, a serious delusion about one's own significance and need. Fraudsters will create the illusion of caring more about you than your own mother does, just to extract money from you.
There is no limit to human naïveté.
2329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning]: Password Manager LassPass has been breached, accessed customer data on: December 01, 2022, 12:24:20 PM
Keeping your passwords to yourself and not trusting other programs is more profitable than regularly being nervous about such stories, which are already very often repeated.
At the very least, you will only blame yourself if you miss something in your saves.
But as for LastPass, it is probably enough to trust this office, which not only does not care about its security but also lies to its customers. Today, they claim that the leak was due to the August events. Although in August they assured everyone that they double-checked everything.
Will they tell clients what they lost this time, or will they come up with an excuse again, afraid that people will no longer trust them?
2330  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Satoshi a Russian? on: December 01, 2022, 11:57:31 AM

Could be for multiple reasons, some of which might not be very easy to verify. It could be that the ideals of Bitcoin appealed more to Russia, because of the political situation they found themselves in at the time. Russian is also a pretty popular language on the internet, I do believe it's Russian, Chinese, and English that pretty much dominate most of the internet. I might be wrong in that, though.

https://www.visualcapitalist.com/the-most-used-languages-on-the-internet/

I was interested to know the accuracy of your opinion about the most popular languages used on the Internet. This statistic is not exactly up to date, as it is dated 2021, but I believe it is still relevant. Likewise, I am also very surprised that the Russian language is very popular and is in second place after the English language, which is so widely used all over the world.

But what is remarkable is that I also found a lot of information indicating that Russian-speaking people began to massively learn other languages. Since not all Russians reacted positively to the mobilization, they were forced to leave the country, which forced them to start learning the languages of the countries to which they moved.

2331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hypothetical crypto hypnosis on: December 01, 2022, 10:58:04 AM

With reference to the part of your quote that I italised, does that concur that, my hypothesis is possible and could happen?

I am convinced that people who know how to influence the human psyche, and this is exactly what I had in mind, can control a person and make him do this or that action. But I will make an amendment: there are people who do not succumb to this. Here, I agree with FatFork: it all depends on the person's propensity for the suggestion.

Methods such as Erickson's hypnosis are a set of several tools for gaining trust from a person, having a confidential conversation, and, as a result, gaining their submission, provided that, in their subconscious, the person has already accepted what was discussed for himself. The person will perform actions automatically, as he will be in a state of trance. An example of such a trance is when we experience regularly thinking about something while being distracted from everything that is happening, and then "waking up" and returning to reality.

There are people who get such a suggestion without any education. If you are familiar with gypsy hypnosis, then these people have strange abilities. Therefore, when observing the behavior of strangers diligently trying to become "useful" to you, you should always be on the alert and understand that you can be manipulated.
2332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the eyes of Sam himself, he is so innocent on: December 01, 2022, 06:21:20 AM
Have you seen at least one criminal who would not say that he did not want anything bad? All of them are always white and fluffy, with angel wings behind their backs. But reality always says otherwise. Those who manage large amounts of money must always understand all the risks and be responsible for the funds that they have been entrusted with. All other justifications for loyalty and devotion to the cause are a desperate attempt to remove suspicion from yourself. Such people need to be very severely punished so that their history is an example for those who intend to engage in fraud.
2333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hypothetical crypto hypnosis on: December 01, 2022, 05:54:41 AM
If you know what hypnosis is, then you should understand that you can hypnotize a person with certain actions. There are many varieties of hypnosis. Manipulation is the main feature of scammers. Perhaps they do not act with a uniformly moving pendulum in front of their eyes, capable of hypnotizing a person, but act on the human psyche, knowing all sorts of tricks that ultimately lead to the goal of fraud. Read what NLP is. Those who master it perfectly can influence the person who gives out seed phrases.
There are so many good books out there that can explain the effect various hypnosis techniques have on the masses. For example, in the book of Robert Cialdini "Psychology of influence", some of the manipulation methods that we see every day but do not perceive as hypnosis are well described.
It is not for nothing that some religions call for always controlling oneself and being at the moment in order to be here and now.
2334  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Satoshi a Russian? on: November 30, 2022, 09:51:53 AM
You misunderstand. If a person speaks Russian, it is not at all necessary that he be Russian. Also, for those interested in history, the USSR consisted of republics whose language was predominantly Russian. Later, when the USSR was divided into separate republics and the CIS appeared, the language of communication, albeit to a lesser extent, remained Russian. Therefore, not all people in the Russian-speaking section belong to Russia. From this, you can conclude that it is absolutely not necessary for some to bypass the blocking that Russia has for this forum.
As for Satoshi, I like your idea Smiley. There's a lot to like here. A lot of brilliant discoveries were created by Russian-speaking people.

2335  Economy / Economics / Re: Is a ban on Retirees Cypto Account a fair deal? on: November 30, 2022, 08:21:42 AM

So I believe the move is fair as to not drag many pensioners to their early grave should anything happens to their money through the financial  institutions.

I also agree that this is fair. At least the ban will protect against some problems, for sure. Many retirees will easily succumb to the persuasion of scammers to buy bitcoins, but what's next? Loss of seed phrases, simply due to illness, as an option for future stress. Further, a lot of options are lined up on how to manipulate an elderly person. Yes, this probably sounds like a restriction of rights, but having elderly parents, any person can observe that not all of them remain in a good mind and memory until old age. In the end, if there are relatives nearby, the young can help with the purchase of bitcoins, and in the future insure the elderly.
2336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin for beginners: Five tips you should know as a beginner on: November 30, 2022, 07:28:35 AM

(2) Next you have to get yourself a reliable and reputable source for bitcoin and crypto related news. They are and they will always be opposing opinions about bitcoin, alot of negative feedbacks and they'll try to dissuade you telling you that you'll only be disappointed if you venture into Bitcoin. That's why as a beginner you need to stick to a reliable source that'll only give you solid facts. These sources might be crypto blogs, a twitter page, podcast or even a friend.

I really hope that newbies in a reliable source, as you write, do not choose you.
I can say that your advice in choosing a hot wallet has completely discouraged the desire to continue reading further, and also discredited you as an adviser.
And, as always, the number of thousands of links does not mean that you are a master of Internet search. The information from 2018, which you illiterately paraphrased, proves that you are also a loser in the search. Roll Eyes
2337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you should never try to time the market bottom on: November 30, 2022, 07:12:56 AM
It often happens that people who are looking for or waiting for the bottom are left with nothing at all. They don't buy at a good price, and they won't even buy at a low price, but they will be in a desperate rush when the market goes up. The train leaves them too fast, leaving only regrets.
There are a lot of smart people on the forum who advise buying bitcoins at any price if there is a desire and free funds, and it’s a pity that not everyone listens to them.
In addition, a recent thread complements this discussion very well, about those who are still in doubt about buying and waiting for a better chance.

I don't want to buy cheap bitcoins, I want to buy expensive ones
2338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bringing it back to your ears: Not your keys, not your coins on: November 30, 2022, 06:47:32 AM

Exchanges like Binance are helping the adoption of bitcoin. That is why I don't criticise them too much. If you remove exchanges and be fair in your judgement you will understand that things of bitcoin is not easy for everyone to handle. Especially people that are stressing everyday looking for how to make food for the family.
This people look for people to trust for their coins because their memories can fail them anytime.
No matter what we preach exchanges will be modifying the way they operate and if care is not taken, they will centralize many aspect of bitcoin.
We can only teach but we won't force people how to use their money.

I think that it is for such people that we should constantly remind them that trusting strangers on the Internet very much is fraught with big troubles. People who are in great need are very nervous and emotional; any loss for them is a crisis, exactly like the promise of quick profit, and will not be regarded as fraud.
Everything we leave on the web will leave a trace, and the data on the exchange will necessarily be controlled, despite the promise of the exchange to maintain confidentiality. Laws change at the speed of light, and today we trust third parties, but tomorrow we may be very surprised to hear that our funds have been stolen or simply taken away.
2339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there best way to seek people's attention on bitcoin? on: November 30, 2022, 06:24:30 AM
Bitcoin, OP, is a technology you should learn first before witnessing to people about it. When that is done, they're multiple means of reaching out to people about bitcoin. People want to understand better what bitcoin is about. And its not hard to get their attention.

First, you can walk up to some people in a long ATM queue waiting to withdraw cash, transfer, or make payments; these are people who are frustrated by the banking system, talk to them about a sweet alternative which is bitcoin. Since they're in a queue they'd have no other option than to listen. You'd be surprised to see more ears listening to your conversation.

Second, talk to friends about your new discovery, bitcoin, how it works and its importance to the future of money in our society. You can as well take things to social media and create some awareness there. The benefit of this is that the more you share your knowledge the more it increases. Don't stop at what you think should be done.

I support your thoughts. In order to distribute something, you need to have a lot of experience and great knowledge. OP, by showing people your successes that connect you to bitcoin, you motivate them to become just like you. Just pointing out that Bitcoin is good and advising you to invest in it will sound like the usual chatter of an amateur who does not have enough experience.
Do you have experience interacting with bitcoin? Have you lost much? After all, not saying important things is comparable to deceiving people. Not only pluses but also minuses, creating an opinion that becomes stronger in any situation.
2340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin,the bedrock of investors. on: November 29, 2022, 01:54:34 PM
The good news is that more and more small investors are starting to actively buy up bitcoins. Despite the collapse of the exchange, people's faith in bitcoin does not fall, and one might even say it grows stronger. This suggests that any events taking place in the crypto world cannot in any way affect the opinion of those who have understood the value of investing in bitcoin for a long time.

Quote
Smaller retail investors have turned increasingly bullish on Bitcoin and started accumulating more BTC despite the ongoing market crisis, according to a report released by the blockchain intelligence platform Glassnode on Nov. 27.
