It is obviously an older video since the DOW was showing around $11k. I believe it is now over $16k.

The huge debt will destroy the US.

Bitcoin user affected (with huge gains in USD value).

Why would a debt denominated is USD destroy the US? I'm not sure I understand that point, if anything they should borrow as much as they can while still maintaining a semblance of credibility. That seems like the rational thing to do unless I'm missing something. Which is quite possible...

when you borrow and can't pay what you borrow back, you lose sovereignty
hence banking dynasties

As long as they can print the money they'll be able to pay it back, they are the ones in control here. As long as people are willing to lend then they are alright. It would take a lot more than the current debt to really have any sort of effect I would think.
2322  Other / Off-topic / Re: IF YOU HAD 1,000,000 DOLLARS WHAT WOULD YOU BUY??? on: June 03, 2014, 12:06:12 PM
One million isn't going to do very much for a lot of people living in modern western societies. You could if you really wanted to make a million dollars go far and sustain yourself if you were willing to live in a different country where your dollars have a much higher purchasing power. But a lot of people aren't willing to do that.
2323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Divorce's new weapon on: June 03, 2014, 12:04:00 PM
This is a bit silly considering anyone with access to money can put it anywhere. Gold, silver, cash ect.

It also doesn't mean that you still won't owe your ex-spouse the money from the judgement. I don't really see how bitcoin changes much is that regard.

What would be funny is lots of family law firms accepting bitcoin payments. Tongue

Are you back on your medication?

It's been a while since I've read your posts. I used to read the Dank Bank post quite a bit a few years ago.

2325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Nem stake on: June 03, 2014, 11:59:16 AM
What sort of price are they going for?

Do you have any links to other threads or sites where people have sold?
2326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 03, 2014, 11:54:06 AM
Are all the the features that are outline on the nxt main website integrated in to the currency already? Or are those things just features that are planned to be implemented at some point in the future?

Where does everyone see nxt going? Is the community actively promoting it as an alternative to bitcoin, or are they taking a different approach?

Where is the best place to buy nxt?
2327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Missing ~5000 LTC, any chance getting them back? 10% helpers fee! on: June 03, 2014, 11:50:10 AM
Wow, sorry about what happened.

Nothing I can think of to help, but maybe someone else will have some ideas.

2328  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Solar Roadways... on: June 03, 2014, 11:41:34 AM
Is the one of the most vaporware ideas ever to grace our planet.

One might say it's the vapouriest vapor to ever vape.

No government municipal, state or federal would ever invest in such an expensive project. The use cases that roads go through are insane and just maintaining asphalt is a ton of work.
2329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 03, 2014, 11:37:39 AM
Well, I kind of wish I had done more faucets back in 2010/11 considering the value now. I guess the only reason I say this is because if you're really sure that the value of bitcoin is going to go up 100x or some similar amount then you can start to possibly justify spending on free time on faucets and saving the results for the future. If you have other productive ways to make money then it's not a good option. But if you don't then maybe it is.

2331  Bitcoin / Electrum / Can the receiver send back to your address? on: June 03, 2014, 10:22:52 AM
If I send someone some coins through electrum and they send coins back to the address that they received the original payment from me, will I get those coins?

Everytime I send coins with electrum does the software create a new address? I know it's generating new receiving addresses as I use them, but I'm not clear exactly on what address(s) I'm sending coins from when using electrum.

As long as I have my seed will I always be able to get coins back on an address that I've sent out coins on?
2332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: /r/AcceptingBTC is looking for moderators and contributors on: June 03, 2014, 08:11:00 AM
why not just www.coinmap.org

Exactly, there's enough clutter already.

Reddit is such a huge site that it really can't hurt to have a sub that monitors and lists current business who accept bitcoin. I don't really see the harm considering it's all organized under it's own separate subreddit that you can choose to subscribe to(or not).

I'm going to subscribe to the sub personally. Why not?
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin Wants Serious Investment, It NEEDS Options Trading on: June 03, 2014, 08:08:50 AM
Wait a sec, why are people saying that derivatives only increase volatility? While you could create derivatives amplify your risk I think you can also create ones that lower volatility as well.

Options were created for farmers so that they could lower their own risk. They could sell future crops at a fixed price and guarentee that their family would have enough money to cover their farm.
2334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency Exchange Review Chart with Results & More on: June 03, 2014, 08:03:39 AM
Wow, very detailed charted overview. I'm surprised that BTC-E performed so poorly in a lot of areas - this is my exchange of choice. So far they have proved to be excellent (for me), I just hope that it doesn't turn into another Gox.

Thanks for sharing!

I can't say I'm surprised personally. While BTC-E has been around a long time and had few problems the fact of the matter is that it's an exchange that's shrouded in mystery. They definitely don't want governments knowing too much about them and I can't really say that I blame them. But they're never going to be considered a top tier exchange when it comes to safety unless they open up and before much more transparent.
2335  Other / Off-topic / Re: Totally Off-Topic! on: June 03, 2014, 05:44:42 AM
So I hear bitcoin been stuck around the 650$ mark for a while now, hmm where is the 1k+ hype?! Oh Bitcoin is the Martian currency!

$6$6$1$

Do you ever worry that you're going to get whacked or at the very least be visited by some thugs considering all the posting you do against different people? You're the only person I've ever seen proudly post his address all over the internet while digging up dirt on multiple people involved in business worth potential billions.

It's not 2011 anymore Tongue I would hate to see a Bruno "apparent suicide" post on here...
2336  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC Gaming Thread on: June 03, 2014, 05:37:57 AM
Oblivion and Skyrim are both awesome, if you like games who focus mostly on exploration and don't mind filing the gaps with your imagination. However, if you plan on playing both, I'd suggest starting with Oblivion. If you start with Skyrim, the other one might seem "old" and lacking of some functionnality.

If you're going to buy an elder scrolls game, check out oblivion and then skyrim. Morrowind was great but now it will feel dated and some things are a pain in the ass that were made much better in the sequels (alchemy for example.)

Also check out Age of Wonders III.

I've been reading that there is a big community of people who have modded Morrowind to keep it up to date graphically as well as improving the UI and such. Has anyone tried any of these out?

Wow, just checked out Age of Wonders III. That looks awesome. RPG strategy hybrid!

Get some Sup Com FA on that list and some UT2k4/UTC and you'll have yourself one hell of a list.
Planetary Annihilation?

These look good as well. Sup Com FA isn't too expensive either so I'll probably try that before PA I think.

I'd like to add Assassin's creed II to OP's list. The recreation of Rennaissance's Italy is truly wonderful, and the missions are quite cool too.

I have AC:Brotherhood on my wishlist atm, I guess that's the one after II? I'll add II as well because I do want to play a game based in that era.

Watch Dogs (Best Game of May)
Did you check out watchdogs?

I'll probably wait a while for this one to come down it price. No rush for me, I have tons of games to get through first.
2337  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ask me anything about being a sex addict. (Serious thread) on: June 02, 2014, 06:46:43 PM
most people here are sex addicts. if you stop ejaculating for 7 days, you would probably go nuts.

I strongly disagree with this.  Thats like saying most people are drug addicts, because they like to smoke weed.  An addict is completely different than someone who can control their urges.

The longest I have gone without sex and/or masturbation in the last 10 years is probably 36 hours.

Yeah there's a big difference between a sex addict and not ejaculating for a while. It's not the orgasm that the sex addict craves, it's the actual sex with new women(or men in some cases).

Which brings up another question, have you ever met a woman who you thought was a sex addict as well?
2338  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long should a car battery last? on: June 02, 2014, 06:42:53 PM
you may have charger system problems. how often is it driven? have you left it without being run for weeks/months at a time? i left my car off the road for 3 months without disconnecting the battery. battery drained and i was told that if the new battery didnt hold charge that i may have to have the charger system (alternator, etc) looked at

Driven every day. 15ish minute commute there and back 6 days a week plus multiple random drives.

I read that it takes 20 minutes to get a full charge, and maybe it's not driven 20 minutes everyday but sometimes there are 20+ minute drives.
2339  Other / Off-topic / PC Gaming Thread on: June 02, 2014, 06:14:29 PM
These are some games that I'm thinking about buying, any opinions or other recommendations would be appreciated.

Dragon Age
Morrowind
Oblivion
Skyrim
The Witcher 2
Europa Universalis 4
Civ 5 G and K and BNW(I have vanila only)

Some of these games are old but I feel like I should play them anyway. From what I hear they are all worth playing, agree?

Best game of the last few years for me so far as been Path of Exile. Best dev team of all time.

Currently playing The Witcher 1. I picked it up for a tiny amount of bitcoins at www.steambitshop.com and I would recomend the site to anyone who wants cheap steam games for btc(who doesn't? :p)

edit: btw I have no association with the website, I just really liked being able to buy games with btc.
2340  Other / Off-topic / Re: TrueCrypt development ended - now insecure? on: June 02, 2014, 06:03:56 PM
The whole 'go use bitlocker' thing is blowing my mind. How could they possibly say that?

I'm on 7.1a but I'm not too happy right now. Honestly I don't have anything really worth protecting since I don't keep btc on it, but still.

I'm not a paranoid person but after seeing that message my imagination starts going off.

Has there been any other unofficial messages from the TC people? The lack of explanation really makes me even more suspicious...like they can't legally talk about or something.
If they have been served a NSL they can't talk about it at all. Not even hint really.

Would the government consider what they said a hint though? Legally speaking?
