Goddamn ISP issues had to get the system tethered to a phone and they don't make that easy these days.

Getting real stupid in my old age! Cheesy

... vaccine update  Embarrassed Embarrassed

... for all those who climbed onto the Pfizer jab hamster wheel, your synthetic immunity is waning away every day

The researchers found signs that vaccine efficacy against symptomatic infection erodes over time, and that waning may occur faster in some vaccines than others.

... while this may seem like no big deal if the Sars-CoV-2 virus is going away also, not so fast

Does this mean the death blow its going to (eventually in some unspecified future) give me is gonna wear off too or is that forever like herpes?

And, well, Think Of The Children!

And The Children's Children!

We can move heaven and earth for the children when it pushes the agenda but ask them to pry open the coffers for the children of other people who really need it and its all excuses.

This was probably true back then, but now? I don’t think so, there are too few people which understand what’s going on and even then they aren’t willing to take any action, forget about a revolution just the thought of doing anything is too much for them.

This reminds me of the Titanic, the ship that was practically unsinkable sank and many people didn’t believed this was possible until it actually happen, and in the minds of the majority the fiat system is thought to be the same, it’s simply too big too fail they think, but size has never been a good enough defense against catastrophic events, but by the time they realize this simple truth it’ll be too late to do anything, however I wonder what comes next? As it should be obvious to anyone the fiat system cannot last forever and at some point it needs to be replaced by something else.

Unbelievable! I was thinking of writing a similar post but it would have gone into to much effort and detail than I was willing to spend to make a similar thread. Your timing could not have been better yet
2347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 24, 2021, 10:15:26 PM

It is a thing of beauty!

Volume is still low on exchanges but has picked up massively from the trend so I am thinking this is the signal that there is no more cheap coins dribbling into whale bags. I gotta say I'm a little concerned who these whales are though as they are the only ones left on these kyc exchanges..

That reminds me of something...

I have often thought, that since the IRS (and others) are so concerned about Monero privacy it would be feasible that they might try to sybil various aspects of the network.  Obviously the protocol itself is way ahead of almost anything other than TOR for privacy and things like dandelion++ make attacks on the protocol hard.

But a cryptocurrency is more than it's code, and protocol.  It is also it's community, it's users individually, the exchanges, and vendors etc.

I wonder if money is being spent by "whales" to be a lot of exchange traffic for example.

I have not thought about this a lot... there could be big holes in it.

I think they moved to social engineering years ago. Wink

@philipma1957

FFS dude, are you sure you should be linking an address with so many transactions publicly?

Think about your OPSEC.

I'm sure all that has gone through a KYC exchange and bank. Wink

I guess he tried to point out that BTC adresses are resolvable and one could create a profile of pm1957's use of Bitcoin.
Tracking adresses to businesses or individuals would be the simplest thing within the scope of that topic.

EDIT: And as soon as you have a single transaction successfully mapped to the receiving individual, you could do things like call the receiver and "hi, this is agent herold bloblobrob from the fbi. You were receiving bitcoins a couple of years ago that were stolen. Can you look up/remember this transaction and possibly identify who sent it? For the love of your country..."

Its all mapped and the only addresses your safe with are ones that have never sent a transaction and your the only one with the key.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was a coinbase assigned address.

Huh?  Am I really seeing what I am seeing?

Biodom proclaiming that "stock to flow" is an actual factor in bitcoinlandia?

Yeah but seriously ETH is a total scam shitcoin from day one and everyone knows its only existence is for professional theifs to bamboozle morons yet it reached a critical mass off greedy fucks thereby creating a perpetual self fulfilling machine. So anything that wasn't something can become something if enough people act as though it is, Perception can be stronger than reality on a broad scale. Not that I don't want S2F to be accurate just pointing out the obvious. Tongue

The sawtooth is beautiful.  Coins that are traded on exchanges and used for speculation only do NOT have this sort of pattern as clearly.  Look at BCH.  It's basically a random walk.  This coin IS moved around more than Monero... but Monero follows a pattern that has been strengthening for over a year.  One that corresponds with the days the US Postal Service is delivering.  Or the days that vendors on online markets would take and process orders.  You want to get your stuff before the end of the week?  Better order it on Monday.  But no real use rushing to complete a purchase on a SAT or SUN... the vendors won't process it 'till Monday anyway.

So what are people doing with Bitcoin Cash?  Nothing really.

But the proof is on chain for Monero. Smiley

I think the best outlet for Fantasy news is Fantasy Pros ( https://www.fantasypros.com/ ).  They've got a great website with tons of good information, they've got a pretty good podcast that I will listen to from time to time and they've also got a Discord group that I will hop in and out of from time to time.  For me personally they are the best resource overall.  Sites like Rotoworld used to be my favorite but they've since fallen off a bit.

I've always like their tools and especially the player comparison and Expert Consensus but I've found their recommendation youtube vids to be on the poor side and not very insightful at all and I'd actually go on to say if you did what they recommend you will have zero chance of winning a competitive league.

I used to love yahoo answers for Fantasy opinions as they were damn spot on and I used to spend alot of time on there giving free advice and lineup recommendations but of course it didn't generate cashflow for Verizon so it got the axe.

Thanks for the reply. Smiley

I think the Bears will suck this year tbh.  We will certainly be a bit better than the Giants however that is for sure..not that that is saying very much lol.  Outside of Saquon Barkley the Giants are going to be very, very, very BAD lol.

If Cam stays in we will be fighting for the bottom right there with you! Cheesy

And look at little XMR bucking the field yet again.  The transaction volume is very weird/interesting.  It's hard for me to imagine explanations for all the fairly non-random actions on that chart...  Like the recent strong spike (10 days ago or so) with a gentle falling off to where we were... it's a very strange effect, all encased in a weekly rhythm which i think is most certainly corresponding with DNM activity.

No other coin looks like this.  BTC and ETH come closest.  It is a signature, in my opinion, for a project with actual commerce at the core.

See the difference?

Inverted bart on transaction volume, interesting. Smiley

I have no clue what that means but I would like to think its coins moving off exchanges in preparation of swaps.

My first (several) cars had vacuum windshield wipers. They slowed down when you went up a hill.

You kids, get out of my yard...

Hah, I think I ran into that on my buddys T-Bird and changing out those lines when they get old is not a fun job! Smiley
also all the vents were pneumatic controlled, the car was riddled with old plastic splitting airlines.

When were car Thermostats stock?

My first car didn't have a rear window heater until I added one myself Smiley

I believe thermostats are still pretty standard?

That Ford Capri of mine didn't have a rear window heater either, I also added a aftermarket one. I remember it was a sticker type thing, peel of the protective plastic and attach it to the window and plug in the the two wires to a power source via a switch. Simple and worked pretty well, but ugly as f.
They don't make them anymore, I was looking for one a couple of years ago as replacement for the broken one on the car I had back then.

I have been pondering if I should change the thermostat or not, but I might just as well go all the way and change that and the pump while I'm at it.
Electric fans is nothing new to me however, my SAAB 900 from -88 had one.

I put a rear defrost in my 79 Monte Carlo and a third brake light while I was at it. I went through at least 3 engine 2 transmissions and a rear end in that beast. Had some great times in that car. Smiley
2357  Economy / Speculation / [arstechnica] GM recalls every Chevy Bolt ever made, blames LG for faulty batter on: August 24, 2021, 03:23:53 AM
Quote
The Bolt was first recalled in November after five cars that hadn’t been in crashes caught fire. After investigating the problem further, Chevy recalled a second batch in July. The problem was traced to two manufacturing defects that could occur simultaneously. The defects—a torn anode tab and folded separator—created conditions that could lead to a short in affected cells. So far, the company has identified 10 fires that involve faulty batteries, according to an AP report.

Haven't read the previous posts to this, but couldn't resist a discussion of ignition mods.  I used to mod my old points vehicles with electronic ignitions, often of my own design.  My favorite hack was to make a cascode circuit by putting an IGBT between the points and the coil, which relieves the points of the high voltage burden and passes the high voltage switching load to the transistor (points still carry the current in series with the IGBT).  Simplest circuit possible.  I've done complicated stuff like building a hall effect ignition with magnets on a spinning disk in the breaker (the cannister that contains the points) of an old panhead.  Good memories.  Now I drive a modern car and do abstract stuff like modeling an oscillator based on bitcoin's 100 week geometric mean.  Life goes on.

Cool beans, I'll pm you when I get a chance and see what your thoughts are on the project when I get around to it.
2359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 24, 2021, 02:28:03 AM
I guess it's just because I have never really been a trader... but I have NEVER understood holding coins on an exchange or ANY service.  I did not do it with Mt Gox, I did not do it with Polo. I (almost) never did it anywhere.

I lost coins on polo but its because I sent them back after they explicitly stated they would allow withdraw before kyc. Teach me to trust the fuckers. Cheesy

I would never guess that this many exit scams, fractional reserves, and rug pulls would happen and people would still not learn.

People want to trade and its just convenient to have the coins handy especially when exchanges are always going into maintenance mode on wallets when high volume hits.

Monero is just SO CHEAP and easy to use.  It was not always so.  Cheap, yes, but easy?  Not like now.  There is just about zero excuse.  Your reason up there is compelling entirely without the safety/self sovereignty angle.  But this has been attempted many times (proof of keys).  Even though we can essentially force a massive short squeeze by withdrawing everything...

We never do.

Luckily the Gov is doing it for us by scaring exchanges into delisting.

The word is out there and DEXes are popping up everywhere, not to mention AS so yeah the word is out there ban it off all exchanges and all that happens is they lose their Derivative market fuckery! Cheesy
2360  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 23, 2021, 05:28:12 PM
So how does it work nowadays then?

Typically the points are done solid state and you just have a coil per plug or cylinder (coil packs). So no need to be switching high voltages around and no moving parts.

Fans are no longer driven with fan belts either Cheesy No more shoving cardboard down the front of the radiator on cold days.

Sounds great, wish that could be retrofitted to my car.

I modded my coils on my bike to coil sticks (made up a simple wiring harness) so I don't see why you couldn't use an aftermarket ecu if you really wanted to. I'm seriously thinking of losing the carbs but there are no bolt on solutions i've found so its alot of custom work.

I actually did the cardboard thing last winter, I have trouble getting the car really hot. One of the reasons I'm changing the fluid, I'm gonna flush the heatpack.

Just change out the thermostat to a higher temp one.
