Unless there is a problem it is best to NEVER fiddle with it. If it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it. That said, AFAIK you have to go directly through MicroBT support to get updates.

I fired up my Avalon 841 (low power fw, 8 Th/s) here. Fingers crossed.. I hope that it will hit a Block ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Hi Hagss I have one 841 still in the box.... can I just plug that in like an Antminer? Why I am asking .... is that my remote hosted farm 721/741/821/841 are connected to an Avalon provided hub before it connects to the router. I guess its not needed for a single 841 unit... Thanks Um, try reading how to setup an Avalon - any Avalon... There are more than enough reviews of them here. That is not a 'hub' it is a RasPi controller for the miners...

That is one distributor, the other is Pangolinminer. I've used Pango many times for purchasing the M10's. Very good company but ja that long of a lead time for the whatsminers sux big time.

The fact that they say "Bitcoin miner" and "Windows" in the same sentence screams SCAM. BTC CANNOT be mined with a PC. Period.

Read 1st time/small miner guide here Primary point is the quote from -ck. In short - unless you are mining altcoins, forget it. If you want to mine alts, then this is the wrong area as this is the Bitcoin-only area.

I've tried contacting Ebang but I just dont get any reply.
Which historically is the major problem with eBang gear. Many folks in the Forum have reported getting zero support from them and AFAIK there are zero reports of anyone being happy with them. That is why I and others avoid eBang like plague. Good luck figuring out what is wrong.

Seller origin was from Singapore, product was from HK. Its trusted ?
That gives us nothing to work with. Where the seller lives and country of origin means nothing. WHO is the seller or what is the company name you are asking about?

What power cable is needed for 48 miners?
One big enough to handle the amount of power you are using. That in turn depends on your power line voltage, if using 208v then the 40kw you mentioned = 192.3amps feeding the circuit breaker panel. That gets split up depending on how much power each individual miners uses. For s9 and such (around 1,250w each) you can use a 15A outlet to power 2 miners. You need to work with a licensed electrician to get the proper power outlets and circuit breakers wired per your area codes. If you do not do this for a living DO NOT just follow internet opinions about wiring. The risk of electrocution or fire is too great.

What about another miner that have good profit if have free electricity?
If you have free electric ANY miner is good. The question then becomes how much free electricity do you have: just a few kw or more? Please do remember that miners are hot and loud. Can you deal with removing the heat from where the miners are? Please ref the 1st time/small miners guide.

... That being said, I'm surprised that the Awesome Miner developers haven't added this as a feature yet.
Patrike usually only adds features if someone requests it. Ask him about it in the Awesome Miner support thread.

re: the ventilator fan, Intereisting bit in the manual (and yes OT but) "This fan utilizes Smart Flow microchip technology that monitors the static pressure in the system and speeds up or slows down the rpm of the fan depending upon the amount of resistance within the ducts. This feature allows the fan to perform as rated and avoid potential installation issues."
So within reason, the CFM you select is what it delivers. Nice touch but no mention of max duct length...

You need to provide more details: Is the miner new or used? Where did you get the miner - direct from Bitmain or a reseller? What kind of PSU are you using? Screen shot of the GUI cgminer status page.
If the PSU is a known good one and miner is new then contact Bitmain or the reseller. If the miner was bought as used - you may have bought a dud. Contact whomever you bought it from.

Saw this on amazon, pretty excited to see a new hobbyist miner with a decent hashrate and efficiency, I honestly would probably just run it on CKs solo pool still.
What fans are on these btw? I figure they can't be too noisy.
Um, perhaps read the 1st post where the miner is described?

Is there any hardware out there designed for this? I am aware of ASICs that compute sha-256 hashes but not sha-512 hashes. Perhaps I could tweak one to work with sha-512 since they are very similar. No tweaks are possible with an ASIC-based miner because the SHA256D algo is hard coded into the chips and cannot be changed. Oh and fyi these days 'typical' ASIC-based BTC miners run well over 13THs and the latest run over 70THs.

AFAIK even if the miner does not hash from bad controller or hash boards the miner GUI should still show the pool(s) as being alive because they did connect. If the GUI shows the pool as dead check for the spaces at end of addresses.
|
|
|
Do the pools report as being alive? If not, check your user settings: If you used copy/paste to put in the pool address/worker names you probably have a whitespace at the end of them which will stop everything.... If the space is there delete it and try again.

Over night getting 17.2th/s from UI, and 16.8th/s pool side at about 1450w.
![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) With good speeds and being fairly quiet looks like I may be able to replace the 2x throttled down 721's I have running in our inspection room with 2x LPM 821's and gain around 7THs at the same time ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Now I'm not sure what needs to be changed. Too little fresh air supply? Too little capacity for the exhaust air? Or both? Or too little space in the container? Space in the container is rarely a problem - airflow is. The fan on most BM miners are rated at 250CFM each and since you have 11 miners that translates to moving AT LEAST 2,750 CFM in & out of the container. Those duct fans are not made for that, generally they are strictly for boosting airflow through existing HVAC systems that already have blowers in them.

So it wasn't that bad eh? Whose chips did they use? Bitmain's? Innosillicon's? Has anyone de-soldered and inspected them? GekkoScience planning something with those? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Perhaps try to investigate by reading the main T1 thread a little before making wild speculations... a. Bitmain does not 'make' chips and certainly do not sell them to 3rd parties. BM contracted TSMC to manufacture their chips. b. The T1 chips were designed for Halong by Innosilicon and made by TSMC. Considering that very shortly after the release of the T1, Inno released their own version (the T2) that uses the same chips it all rather smacks of the kerfuffle in 2014 regarding the 28nm A1 chip that Inno designed for Bitmine.ch c. As Sidehack as mentioned a while back, yes he is in talks with Inno about the chips.
