2341  Economy / Services / Re: ★ Dustdice.com ★ - LOGO CONTEST - Win up-to 0.1 Bitcoin on: October 30, 2015, 05:50:40 PM

Ray: @dooglus yeah, that's in the right direction. Except grey lines and such ruin it. I may as well do it myself, 5 mins would save me 0.15

dooglus: first blob is wrong color - but it's the concept I was going for, not the execution

cropped:

to suggest the grey lines:

Ray: I was thinking of "back-to-back" D's made up of connected red and green dots

like this?

oh, back-to-back D's can look like a cube?

transparent:

Note: I didn't use google images to find those circles. To prove it I am willing to rotate the circles by any angle you like.
2342  Economy / Gambling / Re: PocketRocketsCasino.eu - NEW VIP Program - Dice RAKEBACK on: October 30, 2015, 05:36:58 PM
Like before 0.25% of the wagered amount will be deducted at the time of bet.
Also at the end of each week, Monday midnight GMT, or at time of divest 25% commission will be deducted from your profit.

If you need anything cleared up about the changes feel free to ask.

Now that you're talking 50% of investor EV, what does that do to the Kelly calculation?

If they invest at "full Kelly" now, is that actually "2x Kelly" because their expected return is half of what it would be without commission? Or is the new commission structure taken into account in the Kelly calculations?
2343  Economy / Services / Re: ★ Dustdice.com ★ - LOGO CONTEST - Win up-to 0.1 Bitcoin on: October 30, 2015, 06:16:44 AM
I created this logo for you which I think is appropriate.

I like it, but you shouldn't be able to see a 1 and a 6 at the same time. Opposite faces sum to 7.
2344  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Dustdice.com ★ - The visually appealing dice experience on: October 30, 2015, 12:02:29 AM
It actually originally used to be like that, but I found that profit/loss tends a bit too abstract for most people, and generally not how people think. But yeah deposits and withdrawals are an ugly hack (you can hit 'c' to clear the screen though).  It's actually something that wouldn't be hard to have an option though: "show absolute balance" vs "show profit/loss".

(And yeah, there's 101 outcomes. 0 to 100.  It used to only be 100, but that doesn't leave the sexy clean numbers like 101 does)

Using 101 does make the numbers work out nicely for some multipliers (factors of 2, 2, 5, 5), and less nicely for others (factors of 3, 3, 11). You can't offer a 3x or 11x payout bet, for instance, whereas using 1 to 100 you could.

Edit: and I meant to also suggest allowing the display to show more bets before scrolling. I want to be able to see more than just my last 20 bets. It might look good if the x axis was on something like a log scale, so the bets get closer together the older they are - then I get a rough impression of my entire history for the current session.
2345  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Dustdice.com ★ - The visually appealing dice experience on: October 29, 2015, 09:25:55 PM
I think the visual aspect of the game would be better if it plotted your net profit rather than your current balance.

I just made a deposit, and it makes it look like I had a big win:

I'd rather deposits and withdrawals not affect the plot at all.
2346  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Joinmarket - Coinjoin that people will actually use on: October 29, 2015, 09:09:52 PM
Why isn't this merged yet?

I asked him that on the reddit post:

Quote
dooglus: I see you still didn't merge pull request #272[1] that does nothing but adds the default to the documentation.

belcher_: What is the actual practical alternative? I don't think the US military has an interest in JoinMarket like they have with tor.

I guess he's avoiding the question.
2347  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: October 29, 2015, 08:52:21 PM
MoneyPot just told me:

"Unconfirmed bits are added to your balance (ready to be spent) when they show up in one block"

That's a confusing way of writing it. When they show up in one block they aren't unconfirmed. It would be clearer to have it say something like:

  "Deposits require a single confirmation"

or words to that effect.

Edit: oh, also, https://www.moneypot.com/me/history/all has filters for "sends" and "receives", but "tips" don't show up there. Does there need to be a separate filter for tips? I see a few "receives", which look like tips to me, but none of the filters show the tip I recently received from dustdice Ray.
2348  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Dustdice.com ★ - The visually appealing dice experience on: October 29, 2015, 08:23:43 PM
Yeah for sure. Nice catch, I changed it up. If you find similar mistakes let me know, I will pay more of a bounty. Refresh your balance, I did give you a little bonus.

Thanks for the bounty. I found more, all on the FAQ page:

0. The menu says "FAQ's". Drop the apostrophe.

> The game generates a number between 1 and 100

1. But isn't it between 0 and 100, or between 1 and 101? I think there must be 101 different possible results, because the 'settings' page says:
"Chance of winning: 50 in 101"
Where does that "in 101" come from if there aren't 101 different possible results?

Edit: yes, it's 0 to 100. I just rolled both:

> ... guessing correctly ... guessing correct ...

2. I prefer "correctly" over "correct" in this context. But you're using them both in the same paragraph. Decide whether you believe in adverbs or not and stick to it. Smiley

> Some times the house edge

3. "Sometimes" is one word.

> rounded to two decimal numbers the server accepts that bet and adjust the house edge to match it, this is in order to ...

4. "decimal places", not "decimal numbers"
5. needs a full stop or semicolon between "numbers" and "the server"
6. "adjusts" not "adjust"
7. full stop or semicolon instead of comma before "this is"

I deposited, but my balance still shows 0??

> MoneyPot is an app an app that uses MoneyPot

8. an app an app?
9. circular definition? what is MoneyPot? oh, it uses MoneyPot. do you mean DustDice uses MoneyPot?

> for all gambling services, this means your balance ...

10. "this means ..." is a new sentence

> It has no access to your money

11. is that actually true? I thought I had read that MP apps have access to whatever funds have been 'deposited' to them using the MP interface

Edit: I remember where I read it:

> All bets are placed against MoneyPot's bankroll, this allows ...

12. full stop instead of comma

> any casino to immediately support bettings against it.

13. "support bettings" sounds weird. suggest "place bets" instead

> start investing on the best investment on bitcoin casinos.

14. "investing in", not "on"
15. is it the best? I think the fees are quite a bit higher than most other places
16. "on bitcoin casinos" - "on" isn't the right word here I don't think, but am not sure what it is you're trying to say
2349  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bitcoin ads service BitTeaser launches on: October 29, 2015, 08:03:10 PM
Would you please stop spamming my email addresses.

I am not interested in your "service".

I have replied to your spam several times asking you to stop, but it continues.

I will now try to compute public key/address out of the private key which it shows me.

The 'wallet details' tab of http://bitaddress.org/ can do that for you.
2351  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: CoinJoin: Bitcoin privacy for the real world (someday!) on: October 29, 2015, 05:26:45 PM
The bounty fund will pay out [...] for completed work proposed in this thread that furthers the goal of making improved transaction privacy a practical reality for Bitcoin users.

Would this suite Joinmarket? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919116

Was the work proposed in this thread?

If so, JoinMarket definitely qualifies.
2352  Economy / Services / Re: ★ Dustdice.com ★ - LOGO CONTEST - Win up-to 0.1 Bitcoin on: October 29, 2015, 05:21:58 PM
Doog did the work for me

 Grin

I didn't post the updated chart where the balance goes to zero in a series of exponentially increasing losses. Smiley

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but could the digger be Mt. Gox, or representatives of them involved in the liquidation settlements?
They must have a lot of addresses that weren't dust at the time of CLAMs creation.

Otherwise who has so many none dust accounts?  I am holding, there have been big diggers before, and it will happen again, but that is part of CLAMs.

Sites like walletexplorer.com and scorechain.com can 'cluster' addresses based on their blockchain history. Doing so suggests this digging isn't using Gox addresses.

I don't understand why the clam client assigns a unique port to each peer and increment the port number indefinitely above 49200. Can I set a parameter in clam.conf to tell peers I want to use the default 37114?

No, that's just how TCP/IP works. When you connect to port 31174 on remote hosts, it uses a port on your end which probably won't be 31174, and will be different for each connection you make. The operating system assigns the local port number. You can probably tinker with configuration of the OS to tell it which range to use, but there's not really any need to do so.

But it's a mistake to take random code from github and use it without understanding it or checking that it works as intended.

Fortunately for the site I've noticed that you have applied a few fixes in github.

Thank you for helping us correct the errors this site first went online with.
Deposits and withdrawls are currently paused but staking is still online.
Once dooglus gives us the go ahead to launch again we will be back up.

I did end up forking the repository myself and contributing a fix for the "return address" bug, but I'm in no way affiliated with this project, and fear it will all end in tears.

The PHP code you started with was dreadful, and it isn't a whole lot better now. I've fixed a few significant bugs, but there are probably many remaining.

Please refrain from associating my name with this project in an attempt to give it feelings of legitimacy. I'm talking about things like:

Quote
<@KLYE> The code is doog blessed.
<@dooglus> hardly
<@dooglus> I said it was shit
<@KLYE> Then you dinked around in it
<@KLYE> Cheesy
<@dooglus> and now it's ever so slightly less shit
<@KLYE> Yes. Yes it is.
<@KLYE> Its still shit.
<@KLYE> But dooglus lubed. Cheesy

It's uncanny how lucky I am when I bet single bits! Smiley

If my client is connected to 20 other nodes (shown when I click on the network icon) and the ticket icon say I am staking, my settings must be correct, right? Do I need to forward a port from my home router to my computer? If so, which port should I forward? Is there a default port? I scanned through this thread and I see different ports specified. Thanks in advance.

20 other nodes probably means you can accept incoming connections.

To be absolutely sure, go to the debug console and type 'getpeerinfo'.

It will show you a bunch of information about each peer you are connected to, including its "inbound" status. If any of them show "inbound: true" then you are accepting incoming connections, and everything is OK.

Hi Ray.

Congrats on taking over dustdice. I hope it works out well for you.

A couple of things:

1) I found a typo on the deposit popup:

Is there a bounty for little bug reports like that? My username is 'dooglus' if so.

2) It seems too easy to win Smiley :
