You should be ignoring Twitter entirely. It only decreases your IQ.

Point...

This thing with all the cryptokids on twitter talking IN ALL CAPS...

Should I be pissed or flattered?

2343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 11, 2021, 03:07:14 PM
Uh..  Really?  Why would anybody short something in the middle of what could be the biggest bull market in crypto’s history?  It’s prolly just day trading or something short term.

Unless that site is incorrect, the short interest in XMR is at an all time high pretty much.

No other crypto they measure has shorts outnumbering longs and most are not even visible on the chart.  XMR is a big time outlier.

This site only measures the open longs and shorts on Bitfinex I think...

This guy says Monero is the most shorted coin
https://twitter.com/monerotrader/status/1359185389899063298
comments?

Huh.

I am no expert on this... but damn.  That makes XMR one of two things.  Either being massively manipulated, or a candidate for a huge short squeeze, or both.

Call out he Wall Street Bet Boyz!

It's interesting.  This might actually be a good candidate for that sort of play.  But I do not think they are a very crypto friendly bunch... dunno.

But why all the massive short positioning for XMR out of line with other coins?  Someone know something?  Is it because Mindrust announced a position? Wink

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Down a wee this morning... currently $44535USD/$56504CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Are we heading into a month of $4xxxx sideways just like the month of $3xxxx sideways we just endured?
____

All this talk of cars.

I can think of better things to spend my bitcoins on:

Agreed.  I have a great little truck.  Should last me 10 more years.  Assuming I can still buy diesel.

But land...  ahhh.  The only other truly universal limited asset.
2347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 10, 2021, 05:49:05 PM

Then after Kamala, no chrome.

Ouch.  Zing.

Why is this site lagging so bad? Doesn't seem any busier than it used to be. Time for a hardware upgrade (and perhaps new forum software hint-hint)?
Ooh.. I am sure they might want some donations before they upgrade the forum software.

You think Elon holds his keys?

For his personal stash?  Sure!  He's said to own a quarter of 1 BTC in the past.  most likley a littl more now.

But Tesla's hoard?

Of course not. LOL.

Not for the 1.5bb.  They would be using an institutional grade custodian.  They have not had the time to become their own yet, though they may.
2350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2021, 11:27:58 PM

Because they are making those who have the power to "allow" them to do this very very rich.

Some of them will be slaughtered by the incoming tsunami that they will be foolish enough to try to control.

The Earth has never seen a hard limited asset that can be bought by anyone with access to a network suddenly being fought over by more and more of the corporations

The corporations bought. They are not so dumb to shill Bitcoin and then start selling. They bought off exchanges to not influence price and hold. Only increase price by free PR so consumers buy and other corporations buy too. Have no illusion they will be first to sell if they need money quick. But looking very good for Bitcoin now. Only making it hard for consumers to buy one full bitcoin. Maybe 0,1 bitcoin is the new thing. Can still be worth $100k one day when FIAT crash.

I read dead cat today and it say today bitcoin will be $50k this week. (no i did not kill cat, it die natural cause, sad beautiful cat).

I believe big players have been mostly SELLING on the retail exchanges, and buying on the OTC markets.  It takes much less volume to tank the price on the big exchanges than the cryptic institutions buying on the OTC market are sponging up.

The ones doing this are the smart... early ones.

When they are done, they will stop selling.

Witnessing a sea of green on Bitcoinwisdom. That 365 day change of 380% is simply ridiculous!  Cool

Wait 'till we get to March 12th! Smiley

Ugh, what happens on March 12?

That 365 day % is gonna look kookoo.

The Earth has never seen a hard limited asset that can be bought by anyone with access to a network suddenly being fought over by more and more of the corporations, governments, HNWIs and regular Joes in a huge land grab for which there is NO stress valve.  No unknown supply shocks, and the only known ones logarithmic reductions.

Suddenly millions upon millions if not billions of people are interested in getting a piece of the only 100% limited pie we have ever seen.

To be honest I am worried Bitcoin breaks more than anything...

...It might make sense just to get some in case it catches on.

God... WE don't even know what's coming.  US... on this forum.

WE are going to be surprised.

Lol. Carolina.

Just a sobering reminder, lest we get too over-exuberant...

(I was actually hoping to get one of the Wile-e-coyote ones but they have sadly all expired).

We will most definitely be over exuberant...  no doubt about that.  And we will also get to feel those drops.  Certainly Bitcoin is gonna have to hit all these institutional noobs with some of it's famous volatility before it just levels out in the stratosphere?
2356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2021, 03:38:39 PM
Just wanted to point out that yesterday's ~8k candle is twice as large as the entire price of bitcoin less than a year ago.
2357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2021, 03:16:45 AM
I don't think this changes my proven analysis one bit. The complicated math doesn't lie, and I'm as certain as ever bitcoin will be worth much, much, much less before the end of the year once this fever breaks.

How much less does the science say?

3x?  4x less?  Or do you think we could see even a 10x, or god forbid a 20x less?  No.. that's impossible isn't it?
2358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 08, 2021, 04:59:40 PM
This feels close to Hyperbitcoinisation.

There is no career risk anymore in bringing Bitcoin on the corporate balance sheet.

Of course, this wave will only increase the brrrr money printing which is good for ... Bitcoin  Grin

It's a little scary isn't it?

Why am I scared?

(edit - but boy is that one sexy ass bullflag)

Because 'The Financial Machine' is closer to breaking.

I guess that is likely true.  And I have known all along that this would be the likely way it went, and it has always been sobering.  But here on the eve of it all...  more than sobering.

My wife and I were talking about future diversification and possible changes to US tax laws, strategies etc.  And the shifting environment makes those plans risk becoming obsolete fairly quickly.  That too is unsettling.  I am an optimist by nature so feeling this uneasiness right at the moment that it's becoming "inevitable, in hindsight" just feels wrong.

It is not going up because I am holding it. Bad luck for you fuckers haha
Just let us know when you plan to sell! Wink

Never, get rekt. In fact I am buying more. Buying Monero now is like buying btc in 2016  Tongue (more bad signs from me enjoy your road to 0)

I hear Eth is gonna rocket, buy that!

Dang.  Mindrust just posts, and whoosh... Wink
