Hmm, so it covered every well known site except moneypot? What do you make of your findings? Wink

That I need a damn refund. They smeared PrimeDice as if it was a live poker site?!
2342  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 10, 2015, 05:25:53 PM
Just a heads up for everyone, we'll be rebranding as bustabit.com today. There will be no downtime, and redirects and a banner will be put in place on the old moneypot.com

To celebrate, we'll have some giveaways in chat after the move!
2343  Economy / Gambling / Re: [DICE] BikiniDice - Multicurrency, provably fair, autobet, range selector on: April 10, 2015, 05:08:59 PM
It could be a smear campaign though. I recently found this smear campaign from a year ago, where 5 different really bad reviews were posted, all accusing Just-Dice of being a scam, all of them completely made up. Most of them were posted while Just-Dice wasn't even running. One of them complains about all the bonuses and promotions we run not being real, when we don't have any bonuses or promotions. And if you click to see the reviewers' other reviews, you see that all they've done it bash other Bitcoin gambling sites too. I tried googling the bad review text to see if they had just copy/pasted and changed the site name, but it looks like each bad review was individually written just for us!

If you're looking for paid smear campaigns, look there. Someone went to a fair amount of effort to try to make us look bad.

That's interesting. Looks like the smear campaign covered at least:

Code:
Casinobitco.in
PrimeDice.com
Just-Dice.com
TheBitGames.com
Bitcoinvideocasino
Luckybitcoincasino
Anonibet
BC Casino
Bitcoin Gambling Guide
Bestbitcoincasino
Satoshi Dice
Betcoinsports
Thebitgames

with well written, but poorly researched complaints.
2344  Economy / Gambling / Re: Service like Microwallet for dice site operators? on: April 09, 2015, 05:49:11 PM
Does anyone know if there is a service like Microwallet/Coinbox/Bitchest but instead of catering for faucet site owners, one that caters for dice site operators? The main benefit of having such a service other than avoiding the dust limit is that site operators doesn't need to set up a bitcoind instance on a server but can instead use their API to process payments. This allows site operators to set up and use the faucet/dice script instantly and easily in the same way you might set up a forum or a WordPress blog.

Anyone know if such a thing exists? I think Inputs.io supported dice sites until it shut down. Sad

A project we've been working on for the last 6 months supports this. It's code named vault, and expected for release tomorrow or early next week. Get in contact with on MP chat or via PM if you're a programmer and need details. There's a demo available: vault.moneypot.com with a reference app that uses it: dustdice.com
2345  Economy / Gambling / Re: Martingale isn't that bad on: April 09, 2015, 05:47:03 PM
Am I right that when I want to make 1 btc profit from eg. 7 btc it is better to start doing this with a martingale strategy from 1 btc instead of going all in on a lower odd to earn this. Since with this strategy you wager on average less (1, 3 or 7 btc) than with the all-in strategy (7btc) I should on average lose less so I should have a higher chance making 8 btc from 7 btc using martingale than from an all-in bet?

With a fixed house edge, yes, you are better to martingale. Your expected losses are based on how much you wager, and done properly a martingale will greatly reduce the amount you wager compared to an all-in bet, and thus improve your chances of winning.

What's wrong with greasemonkey?  I think it's the go-to for user javascript associated with particular websites.  And shit, if the webhosts are gonna offer us scripts that run on our machines, shouldn't we write scripts that run on our machines to do what *we* please?

Never really thought about it, but this would be perfect to provide greasemonkey scripts to do things like game verifications. And I wouldn't be opposed to wrapping all use of bits with <span class="bits">n bits</span>  to make it easy for a userscript to replace with tonal-bitcoins or what ever you like.
2347  Economy / Gambling / Re: [p5oPot] a multi-player mathematical game, played with bitcoin on: April 08, 2015, 05:12:46 AM
Spending all that computing time does not necessarily gives a real advantage.

Wouldn't the dominant strategy be along the lines of "Look at all the transactions you think will make it in, then create a txid that will land you on the median"? But the more iterations you do of that, the harder and harder it becomes to bisect that range. Even after only a small amount of iterations, it could become extremely computationally expensive to find a txid near the median, and then trying to move that mass to change the median could be rather expensive and suboptimal
2348  Economy / Gambling / Re: [p5oPot] a multi-player mathematical game, played with bitcoin on: April 08, 2015, 03:56:47 AM
Fun idea, but most importantly great execution! Bravo.

With a quick script, it's it's extremely easy to "aim" your bet by creating and discarding hundreds of thousands of transactions, so that's going to make it pretty difficult for regular players using a normal wallet who will just scatter fire. And correct me if I'm wrong, but lets say I want to "aim" between txid A and B, I am better off not picking any random hash that happens to fall between them, but instead generate a huge set of them, and pick one that lies extremely close to either A or B. That is, so it would be extremely computationally difficult for someone to intersect my bet and A and B. Which would mean, with optimal software the game would favor people who can generate a large amount of tx's/second.

Anyway, love what you've done. Glad to see some fresh thinking on the scene =)

Is moneypot required high-speed internet connection ? I just lost many 10k bits Sad
I'm click cash-out at 1.2x but suddenly crashed at 1.35x & i haven't cash-out yet Sad

Speed doesn't matter as much as latency for things like this. The main problem with high latency is you try cashout at 1.2x and the server doesn't recieve the message till say 1.4x. Normally this isn't a problem, and you'll make more than you intended (an extra ~17%) but about ~17% of the time, you'll end up crashing. So even though it basically works out the same, I highly recommend using the "Auto Cash Out @" feature exclusively, where latency no longer matters. =)
2350  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 06, 2015, 01:40:01 AM
Do you also feel it is always lost when big bet

I can assure you that your (or anyone's) bets have no zero impact on the game outcomes. All our code is open source and we've developed a provably fair system, that has provably pre-generated the results of 10 million games in advance, and allows you to verify every game immediately. You can easily use a quick script I made to prove the games yourself if you want.

I'm sorry you lost, it sucks. But if you take the time to research it, I'm sure you'll also come to the conclusion it happened fairly and was just bad luck =)

I'm embarrassed to say that I've been trying to figure out what the MTT acronym stands for for waaay too long.  I'm sure one of the Ts stands for tournament but what about the rest?

Multi-Table Tournament
2352  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 03, 2015, 10:38:47 PM
What is this?  How is it different than the moneypot game you already built?

It's unrelated to Money Pot the game, really. It's mainly just a web-wallet that has an API that allows gambling. And we have a reference app that uses it dustdice.com

It's pretty alpha at the moment, though
2353  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 03, 2015, 09:27:09 PM
I've put vault.moneypot.com in open-alpha stage, so if anyone is interested in giving it a try (and the reference game: dustdice.com) come on MP chat, and let's discuss!
2354  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 03, 2015, 04:04:46 AM
Also does someone have a visualization of the chance of crashing before a certain point.  I'd like to see the graph.  Or math for calculating any point on the graph.

The formula is deceptively simple:
Code:
   winProb(mult) = 99 / (101*(mult-1))

There's some explanation in the comments:

https://github.com/moneypot/webserver/blob/master/client/scripts/lib/clib.js#L79-L109

which generates a rather uninteresting chart:

(probability of winning is the y axis, the x axis being the multiplier)
2355  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 02, 2015, 02:26:21 PM
I think you the only strategy you can use here is join forces with other players as Op said: ''the game is mostly luck (So no matter what you do, you can still get a good return) but yet allow strategic play when playing with others, enough to overcome the house edge". Just ask others and form an alliance with them, good luck.

Just remember, bonuses are 0-sum. Each game, the exact same amount of bonuses will be awarded, the only difference is who gets them. So normally it makes sense to play competitively for them. That said, there are co-operative strategies that can be used, e.g. one person cashes out low, and another person holds on to squeeze a target trying to get  them to not cashout (so the person who cashed out low can get the bonuses).

Also, on a side note bits is getting a lot more traction as a unit.
2356  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: April 01, 2015, 02:30:08 PM
By the way, is moneypot still down?  I saw that it was having trouble last week.  I don't really have a chance to try it this morning but I'm trying to keep on top of which gambling sites are working and which are down.

We were having some issues for a few hours last week, but they seem largely resolved.

Since leprchaun.io has been down for quite some time now, is there anyone planning to create a third party verifier for MP?

There is actually already one running by Steve. I believe that if detects a break of the chain, or a hash not validating -- it will alert everyone in the chat (and presumedly Steve, who would spread the word if foul-play was involved). Admittedly, this is not nearly as polished as leprchaun.io was and would be great if someone created something similiar

In the interest of transparency, this seemed to alleviate our problems:

https://github.com/moneypot/webserver/commit/0a8c1e17eab4d868610563cd00cccccc1958696a
https://github.com/moneypot/depositer/commit/36eafb0ac8a628e3c094349934059df23a937113

although, I'm still not sure what caused the sudden issue.

Back online, hopefully this works!
2359  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: March 26, 2015, 08:03:09 PM
Yeah =/ Sorry about that. Such terrible timing, have unreliable internet at the moment.

Working on an experimental fix, but in the mean time have put the site into maintenance mode. If I can't get the game fully functional today, I'll put the website online so everyone has access to their funds. =)
2360  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: March 22, 2015, 04:50:52 AM
As long as the game has house edge, there's impossible to win every time.

You might not be able to win all the time, but there's definitely situations where you can have an expected profit even in the presence of a house edge. The most common situations this occurs is when there's player-vs-player action like MoneyPot or Poker. In this case, you're really winning more from other players than the house.  Or often when there's a cumulative jackpot, it can become large enough that the chance of winning it offset the house edge (e.g. like coinichiwa when it's jackpot is over 1 BTC)
