2341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is there ANY WAY to PUSH a transaction? on: April 28, 2016, 09:22:59 PM
Really you should routinely use the priority fee with Trezor to avoid delays if using myTrezor.com. If you want more control over the mining fee you can use your Trezor with Electrum. I never have a problem with my .0005 priority fee transactions going through quickly. The team who developed Trezor also started the first mining pool so if they say use .0005 if you are in a hurry you can believe them. .0001 is often just not enough anymore. If you want to economize you can calculate the cheapest mining fee to get your transaction confirmed quickly at http://bitcoinfees.21.co/ I always just use .0005.

2343  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 27, 2016, 01:42:07 AM
its not a problem with the trezor, it fires up fine on my htpc and phone. just this rig. odd as its the rig I initially set it up on.

the firewall wouldnt mess with USB ports would it?

tried front and back ports, the bride in FF and chrome with its special extension. both fail to find it at all. just stays on the "connect your trezor now" screen. on the htpc I entered the pin and I was in my account no problem.

yippee another project  Roll Eyes

Did you try several different USB cables to rule out a bad cable?
2344  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 26, 2016, 11:51:27 PM
i dont really want another wallet. I just wanted to manage the trezor on my (or any other) computer, like add another account or whatnot. be cool to show folks how it works.

is the trezor bridge the correct way?

hard to think this system cant run it. its pretty standard.

You need the bridge for Firefox, for Chrome you add the Trezor Chrome extension. Is your firewall causing problems? Make sure Trezor bridge is allowed incoming and outgoing traffic. I would try Chrome, add the extension see if that solves your problem, if not contact Trezor support.
2345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paper wallet - security concerns - best way to create one. on: April 25, 2016, 05:28:34 PM
Just bypass paper wallets and go straight to using a Trezor. You have to be very careful about change addresses and exposing your private keys when spending from a paper wallet.
2346  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit HD TREZOR question I can't find answer to on: April 25, 2016, 05:13:34 PM
Thanks for the info and your help, so I just select "use existing wallet" when plugging the trezor into the new computer or "restore" I still don't see where you see the information about multiple computers.  Thanks again  Smiley

Follow the instructions in the link I gave to use Multibit HD on multiple computers. When you install Multibit HD on your second computer you will be using the same Trezor, so select 'create new Trezor wallet' per the link. All you are doing is making a duplicate Multibit HD installation on a second computer. When in doubt just follow the Trezor user manual to the letter. Please make sure your 24 word seed is saved in a safe place in case you lose your Trezor and need to restore to a new one, and remember you can not use passphrase protected accounts with Multibit HD.

Now that Trezor is replacing Bits of Proof backend with Bitcore I really do not see any privacy advantage to using Multibit HD instead of standard myTrezor.com. All the options Trezor has to offer you can be accessed using myTrezor.com.
2347  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit HD TREZOR question I can't find answer to on: April 25, 2016, 02:35:12 PM
thanks for the reply! So can I use multibit hd on two computers and switch the trezor between them? Theres nothing about multibit hd in the trezor manual.  I really dont understand how this is such a hard question to find the answer too, people can't use the same computer forever.

Instructions here. You can use Trezor with Multibit HD installed on two different computers.
2348  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do we go to track coinbase volume? on: April 24, 2016, 07:53:35 PM
Bitcoinwisdom does not show Coinbase volume (disabled) I believe you would have to open a trading account at Coinbase Exchange.
2349  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Opendime, a New Hardware Wallet. Any Reviews? on: April 24, 2016, 07:26:22 PM
Looks like a product without a market to me. FAQ specifically recommends not to use for cold storage also. A twist on physical bitcoins without the collector appeal.

Sounds like Trojan.Coinbitclip or a new variant.
2351  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit HD TREZOR question I can't find answer to on: April 22, 2016, 08:17:18 PM
Hey, first post on the forum here.  My question is I have MultibitHD with trezor on my main computer at home.  I have another computer I take with me when I travel for work, can I just bring my trezor and travel computer, install MultibitHD on it and be able to plug my trezor into either my home computer or travel computer and be able to view my wallet on both? I could try it but i'm afraid if I connect the trezor to a new computer it's going to wipe it or something so I just want to be really sure.  THANK YOU MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

No problem. Nothing is going to wipe your Trezor unless you do it yourself. If you have Mycelium wallet on your Android phone you can also use Trezor there with an OTG cable. Make sure you have your 24 word seed stored safely in case you lose your Trezor. Most Trezor owners usually buy a spare. Take some time to read the user manual when you get a chance.

This hack sounds very similar to one that stole a bunch of BTC from another outfit a year or two ago. I'm digging in my mind trying to remember ...

A captain of industry going by Reptilia or some such on this forum. An unencrypted MacBook. Allegedly stolen from a sauna during a "Supernode Summit" he organized [lol].
Consequently institutionalized for a bit.

That would be the rpietila incident.

If 3000 is taken out on Huobi yes could get very interesting:)

Fishy story.  Can you prove ownership of 18wPAqgrHYBoNXrxV6w7kc8dVdTfkCCrFC by signing a message with your private key?

This will validate somewhat your story.  If you can't provide this then you never owned the bulk of these coins and your story is disproved.

Verified....

Damn that sucks, dude.  I'm so sorry.  I would police if I were you, and don't give up.  If you were on the phone they can trace call records and stuff, but you have to act fast before info is lost.

Good luck...

Sorry again for your loss:( OP verified he was running a full node with passphrase protected wallet and the loss itself was verified. This is the best argument for using a hardware wallet I have ever read.
2356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin really is going down the toilet. on: April 21, 2016, 02:10:25 PM

Ya, you're right on the line as far as transaction size and fee cost.  If you had paid a 0.00013 BTC fee I suspect it would have gone through within minutes.  Like theymos says above, use a wallet with dynamically adjusted fees.  It will actually save you money, as smaller transactions would use a fee less than the current 0.0001 BTC you are paying.

For the transaction to complete quickly and on time, you should not change the Default fee which is being deducted by the client. If you put to low a fee, you know it will takes ages to complete the transaction.

Sometimes, default fee by client isn't good, especially if you use old version of client.
If i'm right, default tx fee now should be 0.0005BTC/KN, so he should pay 0.0005BTC because his transaction size is almost reached 1KB.

He should blame himself, not bitcoin network because his fault.

Agree. For a 964 byte transaction he should have used .0005 fee instead of the .0001 actually used according to bitcoinfees. I use .0005 fee for all transactions. Since many wallets still default to .0001 I always get confirmed fast.
2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got hacked , All my Bitcoin and Litecoin lost on: April 21, 2016, 02:58:03 AM
Sorry for your loss:( Sounds like malware stole the wallet.dat files and attackers either brute forced the password or caught it by a keylogger. What bitcoin and litecoin wallets were you using?
2358  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need some help with Electrum wallet fees on: April 20, 2016, 05:18:54 PM
I am using Electrum wallet and I want my transactions to not be medium priority anymore.
I would like every transaction to be high priority on the network
Is there some formula to figure out how much should be sent in a fee to achieve this
I also don't want to over pay for no reason

Right now it is set to Transaction fee per kb: 0.0001
and this gives medium priority transactions every time

This site should help. You can always just use a .0005 fee but that might be more than required depending on the mempool size at the time you want to send.

Before you spend $2.26 for an app look at the permissions it demands.
2360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Increasingly Sophisticated Malware Infection Attempts on: April 20, 2016, 03:37:42 AM
Well, BTC hardware wallet protection starts to be very complicated, because trojans, worms also are more developed. Only Linux can help, I think  Wink

Just get a Trezor for your bitcoin. Your private keys will then be safe offline and Trezor works with Windows, Linux and OS X 10.8+

There are clever hacks for a trezor as well, nothing is 100% safe so don't get lulled into a false sense of security. See: http://www.hackinsight.org/news,303.html

Granted, that is a particular version of firmware but as wih any device that stores "money" there will always be people looking for the loopholes. A dedicated attacker only needs a small window of time to make your funds vanish.

Pretty old news. The hack that Jochen Hoenicke found for Trezor was disabled when Trezor started enforcing PINs on firmware 1.3.3. Using a Trezor with PIN and passphrase enabled is about as safe as it gets for storing your bitcoin.

There is malware that can steal bitcoin from password protected local wallets. Coinbitclip is one example and there are more.
