Fishy story. Can you prove ownership of 18wPAqgrHYBoNXrxV6w7kc8dVdTfkCCrFC by signing a message with your private key?
This will validate somewhat your story. If you can't provide this then you never owned the bulk of these coins and your story is disproved.

I might die if i lost 425 btc like you but i don't have that much. However now i will only store high amount of coin in a paper wallet printed one not stored in my laptop. And 2 factor authentication for my blockchain wallet. I wonder why you store all your coin in a blockchain wallet. Sorry for your loss. Oh no! Im sorry your loss. How much is it on gold, oil, property, mining power, hardware!

with +400 btc sitting on my laptop i would at least consider to not use terrible OS like iOs or Windows, they are full of holes and possibilities for hackers if not on cold storage, i would have my btc on a system running qubes os and open each pdf, ppt, etc on a dedicated virtual machine (yes, you can have a disposable virtual machine just to open a pdf) btw, i'm sorry for what happened to you, damn bastards

... About reporting it to the police - it is interesting how if 300k in cash/USD was stolen from someone the police would definitely investigate as it is a very serious theft. Why with crypoto's is there usually no investigation.
That's the beauty of Bitcoin: no nosy nanny state/jackbooted government thugs messing with our decentralized free market!

All my BTC and LTC lost because someone hacked my Macbook, It was a personal attack. The hacker knows my phone number, name, email , job etc... I did not know it was virus. https://i.gyazo.com/3d2f5226bc8554986434a21ae6f719e9.png5. After that you will see the tab named "Documents" where you can see the files that you are allowed to access. Also there is a tab named "Tasks". You can familiarize with details of the start tasks '#3057 Tasks - Stage 1' there. Please note, that after the first sign in to the Maas360 you'll need to set up a new password. PS. You could download the latest version of the presentation and other documents in .PDF via the Maas Documents tab. Please help me if you can. I live in Vancouver, BC, how to contact cyber police ? or some security experts can help me here ? Is it possible to get my coins back ? the funds will surely go to a Bitcoin launderer website and done...
this is not the beauty of anything. it can happen to any of you and you won't think the same. 300K lost.... the normal people read and will read these kind of stories and they will not touch Bitcoin ever. of course, the hackers and morons will not be affected because they will always find a new e-currency to deal with... the affected ones will be the honest BTC users.

This is the best argument for using a hardware wallet I have ever read.

hello please tell me how to make a paper wallet. i don't want to loose my coins. @OP: fuck, that really sucks. Is it wrong or distasteful to promote my buddy here in this thread, he makes laser etched aluminium & steel etched wallets: www.bitstashers.com - better than paper, wont smudge, tear or burn :-) Btw, OP, seriously sorry for your loss. That's s**t. *edit* OP, mail mike@bitstashers.com & he'll etch you a bitcoin/litecoin wallet free of charge with shipping covered

Can't we do anything, I mean the OP should report all these moves to the police in order to find an IP or something relevant, but I know this is quite impossible, maybe the hacker is using TAILS and TOR plus VPN now with all those bitcoins in hand, still if I were the OP I would keep track of all the transactions of that address.

This hack sounds very similar to one that stole a bunch of BTC from another outfit a year or two ago. I'm digging in my mind trying to remember the details, but IIRC it involved a supposed media interview in which the target was emailed file(s) that they were supposed to fill out and return to the interviewer, planting malicious code on their laptop in the process.
As I recall, the target was a CIO of a bitcoin company, and the amount stolen was not huge but was 100 or more BTC. Just wild speculation, but I'm wondering if there might be a link to bitasset's thief and this or other crimes.

This hack sounds very similar to one that stole a bunch of BTC from another outfit a year or two ago. I'm digging in my mind trying to remember ... A captain of industry going by Reptilia or some such on this forum. An unencrypted MacBook. Allegedly stolen from a sauna during a "Supernode Summit" he organized [lol]. Consequently institutionalized for a bit.

do you run a full node? I think If your wallet was encrypted then they sent it via rpc calls.
Yes, full node, but how can he removed all my blockchain files later? Do you live your entire life on you Macbook, including doing your banking transactions? You should also assess what information was lost with their access to your computer. Then take steps to ensure that you don't stand to lose anything else in addition to your coins. People should be treating their computer with a wallet or even day trading off the internet as much as possible. My banking computer is only connected to do transactions. I have another one for trading. You dont need a fancy computer for your bank, just no surfing and no emails.

I honestly think that if you go to the RCMP they will just tell you nothing they can do. They are so over run with the Revenue Canada tax scam and other scammers to really look into a bitcoin related issue. Depending on who you talk to it could even become a issue for you having so much money there, they will ask for all the paper work for 10K plus transfers and documentation. I dont know if its worth going down that road but its your call and it is a big amount to figure out.
