Again those who need to play more and regain their form are being rested primarily, KL Rahul. Many emerging talents are in this team, and I was happy to see Rishab Panth given an opportunity to lead in case Hardik is unavailable in this T20I series. I am still not happy with the Indian team management for not selecting him in the T20WC.

I never thought that Ireland would be a challenge for Australia. Australia is a far better team and at the moment they are crushing Ireland for the NRR. I was expecting Stoinis to repeat his performance but he got out for just 35. Finch played a very sensible innigs.

I am still confused why did India play Deepak Hooda yesterday? He is an all rounder which mean he could  bowl too then why wasn't he given a chance by Rohit Sharma? Rishab Panth should be given an opportunity the team management can either drop KL Rahul or Dinesh Karthik they both are struggling. India's problem is the opening pair since they have not been performing the pressure goes down. It was evident in yesterday's match. If Surya Kumar Yadav had not performed then the target could have been less than 100 runs.

Pakistan is out! There is no doubt about it. After India lost the match yesterday the chance of them playing against Newzealand in the semifinals is preety high now. Looking at the current form of the Newzealand side it will not be easy for India. I have also serious doubt about Indian opening pair. Third time in this tournament KL Rahul has got out within the first five overs. I think it will be great if the Indian team management drops him and give Rishab Panth a chance in the next match which is against Bangladesh.

They tried Hooda yesterday because he is an all rounder but never gave him a chance to bowl then why select him. Another player that needs to be dropped is Ashwin, he took only one wicket in three matches and has not been contributing through his bat.

India VS South Africa

As expected South Africa did the best of bowling to win this match. Now, the question arises, why did India chosen to bat first wherein they knew the wicket support medium or slow pacers at the end of the game. Unwanted advantage was that the decision was taken by the team management as  the management felt they were good with another all rounder, such as Deepak. I am sure they might regret it.

Too much over confidence and thinking about similar situation led to Rohit Sharma going forward and deciding to bat first. I would still be confused if I were him. India will not get out of the semifinal race after losing this match. If they win the next matches without any hichki then they will surely get into the semifinals.
  

India did their level best considering the pitch is suitable for fast bowlers. Only Surya Kumar Yadav was the batter who was responsible for India's target of 134 runs. If he would have batted till the end then the target for South Africa would have been somewhere 150+. Unfortunately he did not! Indian bowlers started good but a lose over by Hardik Pandya might become the reason for their defeat. Still the match is balanced and is nowhere as projected by broadcasting team as the situation can change any time.

As expected South African fast bowlers controlled and dominated today's game. The Indian batters except Surya Kumar Yadav struggled. In my opinion KL Rahul should be dropped and Rishab Panth should be given a chance. They did give Deepak Hooda today but unfortunately he was out for a duck as expected. South Africa has an upper edge in this match and I am not expecting the Indian side to win this game.

Edit: Indian bowlers are now dominating the match with their swing bowling. It all depends now how the spinners bowls.

What a finish to the Bangladesh & Zimbabwe! If Zimbabwe had won the match then I am sure Bangladeshi fans would have questioned the decision. Zimbabwe after such a poor performance had all the luck, which unfortunately they were not able to capatalize. Another heart pumping end to Zimbabwe's match.

The average target on that ground is around 160. Bangladesh were able to get 150 due to Zimbabwe's ability to drop simple catches. Sikander Raza needs to contribute through his bat today otherwise it would not be easy for Zimbabwe to chase the target. Bangladesh did an excellent job especially Santo who contributed 71 runs out of the total of 150.

I am still doubtful about Pakistan and whether they will be able to win against the Netherlands. They have been losing games where they were comfortable winning as seen in the previous two matches. South Africa has got the upper edge against India as they have good bowlers in their team and the Perth wicket condition suits them. Pakistan's chance in any condition is very bleak at the moment a lot depends on the other team's performance and they win the rest of their matches. If they do win today they will struggle against South Africa.

As expected another pathetic first session by Srilanka. They started very well but suddenly they became sloppy on the field and had a lot of drop catch. Glenn Philips was in a beast mode today. Every ball that he was hitting was going to the boundary. He now becomes the second batter to get a century in this T20WC. 168 target can be chased if one of the Srilankan batters can stay till the end.

The problem with the Srilankan team is that they do not have pace bowlers. Almost everyone is injured and those replacement are also injured. They have a very weak bowling line up due to injuries and this will affect their performance a lot. They do have good spinners but they are of no use if the pitch doesn't support them.

The Newzealand team is in good form but they have till now played only one match in this tournament. I don't think it should hamper their performance in today's match. Overall the Kiwis are favourite in today's match.

It just not bad but the right word here should be worst planning by ICC. If today's match gets cancelled due to the rain then Ireland would be in a very comfortable position to get into the semifinals. Afghanistan is far better than the Irish team and they need a chance to prove it. The forecast for Melbourne is rain for this week and the next one too. I hope the second match doesn't ends in the same fate as the first one for today.

After yesterday's shocking defeat it would not be easy for Pakistan to get into semifinals. Apart from winning all their remaining three matches they would need favours from other teams. Which means they would need all the luck to get into semifinals. It is highly unlikely that it would happen. I also feel that it would not be easy for Pakistan to defeat the South African team.

Biggest Upset in T20WC - 2022

First of all I would like to humbly say one word for Pakistan team OVER CONFIDENCE . Getting defeated by Zimbabwe is the most humiliating event happened to them after getting their win  snatched  by India.

This is hilarious in my opinion as the important player of the Zimbabwe side named Sikander Raza was not at all productive today. I was accepting Pakistan to win this match but as always they are dependent on the opening pair.

Getting into semifinals is no more easy for Pakistan after what happened today. This defeat should make the Pakistani side understand that all mighty will never help you unless you work on the basic.

What an amazing moment is for the Zimbabwe team. They were an underdog but after this win they have become a contender to win this tournament.

The fact is Babar Azam and Rizwan are completely out of form. These two have been getting out in a cheeky way. Both look clueless in this T20WC. The performance of Shaheen Afridi is not up to the mark. I feel he has not yet completely recovered. He has been bowling within 150km in this tournament. Another issue with the Pakistani team is the middle order. They want to go after the bowlers rather  forming a partnership or rotating the strike or getting those ones & twos.

This match would be interesting to watch. India is now on the top of the point table. Pakistan not only needs to win this match but also need maintain a healthy runrate. Aa after today's win by South Africa they are now positioned second on the point table. If Pakistan wants to enter the semifinals they not only need to win matches but also need to work on the net run rate.

Netherland's bowling has been spot on and their commitment on the field has been excellent. In my opinion they might have saved a good amount of runs through their fielding. India will try to set a target of 180 runs fir the Dutch to chase. It would not be easy as the pitch is not that fast anymore. At the moment Kohli and Surya Kumar are going good.
