Haven't read the previous posts to this, but couldn't resist a discussion of ignition mods.  I used to mod my old points vehicles with electronic ignitions, often of my own design.  My favorite hack was to make a cascode circuit by putting an IGBT between the points and the coil, which relieves the points of the high voltage burden and passes the high voltage switching load to the transistor (points still carry the current in series with the IGBT).  Simplest circuit possible.  I've done complicated stuff like building a hall effect ignition with magnets on a spinning disk in the breaker (the cannister that contains the points) of an old panhead.  Good memories.  Now I drive a modern car and do abstract stuff like modeling an oscillator based on bitcoin's 100 week geometric mean.  Life goes on.

Cool beans, I'll pm you when I get a chance and see what your thoughts are on the project when I get around to it.

I guess it's just because I have never really been a trader... but I have NEVER understood holding coins on an exchange or ANY service.  I did not do it with Mt Gox, I did not do it with Polo. I (almost) never did it anywhere.

I lost coins on polo but its because I sent them back after they explicitly stated they would allow withdraw before kyc. Teach me to trust the fuckers. Cheesy

Quote
I would never guess that this many exit scams, fractional reserves, and rug pulls would happen and people would still not learn.

People want to trade and its just convenient to have the coins handy especially when exchanges are always going into maintenance mode on wallets when high volume hits.

Monero is just SO CHEAP and easy to use.  It was not always so.  Cheap, yes, but easy?  Not like now.  There is just about zero excuse.  Your reason up there is compelling entirely without the safety/self sovereignty angle.  But this has been attempted many times (proof of keys).  Even though we can essentially force a massive short squeeze by withdrawing everything...

We never do.

Luckily the Gov is doing it for us by scaring exchanges into delisting.

The word is out there and DEXes are popping up everywhere, not to mention AS so yeah the word is out there ban it off all exchanges and all that happens is they lose their Derivative market fuckery! Cheesy

So how does it work nowadays then?

Typically the points are done solid state and you just have a coil per plug or cylinder (coil packs). So no need to be switching high voltages around and no moving parts.

Fans are no longer driven with fan belts either Cheesy No more shoving cardboard down the front of the radiator on cold days.

Sounds great, wish that could be retrofitted to my car.

I modded my coils on my bike to coil sticks (made up a simple wiring harness) so I don't see why you couldn't use an aftermarket ecu if you really wanted to. I'm seriously thinking of losing the carbs but there are no bolt on solutions i've found so its alot of custom work.

I actually did the cardboard thing last winter, I have trouble getting the car really hot. One of the reasons I'm changing the fluid, I'm gonna flush the heatpack.

Just change out the thermostat to a higher temp one.

When were car Thermostats stock?

I have been meaning to post one of my "Can you feel it?  I can." posts for days now.  So i missed out on looking smart... lol/  But I do STILL feel it... We are not done yet, I don't think.

I've felt we have been held back and that may be letting up a bit. I wonder if its the holders are getting their coins off exchanges and putting the squeeze of the fuckers manipulating shit is finally paying off.

I vote JJG has lost his poll privileges after this fiasco!

Up and Up, its about time.

Weak hands shaken out?

No more naked shorting?

I had no doubt this would age well. Cheesy

The price is to damn low….

Though price is giving me a pleasant feeling as well, remember the moment buying BTC on the low and having a bearmarket where previous lower buyers where in the situation I’m in now…. The price is to damn low but much more comfortable as previous 3 years  Cool

I consider never seeing Vegeta again as a major win. Smiley

Well, gosh I hardly know what to say... but that has not stopped me in the past... so why start now?

Hahaha, no I'm not bearish I'm just saying last year was in that range so fucking long never seeing that range again makes all the rest gravy. Smiley

I still think we will see $50k before $25k, actually I will be surprised if we ever see $27500 again.

ATH before we know it now boyz!

Well I'll give an opinion but I don't think I can do a fair review as like I mentioned in the past the Foundation is literally the only thing Asimov wrote that I couldn't slog through. Maybe its because I was to young and I would get pulled in now but all I remember about it is it went into such long drawn out detail about the specifics of cataloging and fundamentally boring bureaucratic methods that It just couldn't keep my attention.

I'd think that you guys that actually have read the book would have more representative opinions on the subject than I would.

This is actually the reason I'm thrilled to see it as a show as now I can get the story line without having to wade through a 3 inch thick technical manual. Smiley

I don't really remember it that way. I do recall cryptography got a side-mention at one point in the form of message signing.

I was in my teens so that was quite awhile ago for me to remember any specifics.

that's just the jist of what my memory holds on the subject, hence why I stated I don't think I would be a good person to review the piece.  Smiley

I want to see how to set up as a swap provider.

There is a fairly rocking arb opportunity here, I think.

After the hard fork there should be (arb opportunities) as long as there are BTC buyers.

Had some weather related distractions and didn't get to watch the games.

what outlets do you guys watch to catch up on the prospects?

I really miss the old days of The War Room on SBnation.

Damn put that on and ended up watching the whole thing even though none of those players are in anymore! Cheesy

https://unstoppableswap.net/

6 offers now.

Also this. I did not looked at it like something super important, but if it will be fixed like this will be magnificent. With decentralised pools 51% pool attacks are impossible.  https://old.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/p9apyd/psa_monero_decentralized_mining_pool_p2pool/

Cool, do they have a list of what addresses are swapping?

It would be nice to keep track of the percentage of black listed coins that are being dumped on us.

I don't claim to know anything about how it works, but I had assumed the exchange rate would be far better for the XMR 'seller'; an incentive to take on the probably tainted BTC.  Perhaps that will be a user dictated parameter as the testing moves forward?  Amazing work.  I hadn't believed that the project would move this fast.

If you go to the l;ink you can see that this is monero being offered only as the opposite swap is not ready until the hard fork. therefore in the link you can change the offering party and see the different rates they are offering to sell their Monero for whatever type of bitcoin they will receive.

Personally I can only hope they are doing this to get the ball rolling and are not going to trade all their clean Monero for Tainted worthless shit at those rates.

When the MSM prints sort of positive stuff like this, prepare for a sharp leg down.

I am skeptical, There is no black woman in the books and they are not action packed "war in space" type stories.
I will download some episodes ( I assume it's a series) for free when they are available on TPB to see if it's anything worth paying money for.

Edit: My favourite books too, and the first "real" sciFi books I read.

Cool, can't wait. from the trailer at least it doesn't look like they killed it with an PC pushing agenda as is wont lately.
