Screw waiting for bitcoin, we're going... Up?
I think that's a good sign and we can see how bitcoin is able to influence the prices of altcoins and especially monero which is currently up around 4.8% in the market and hopefully will continue to increase. Would *lurve* to see it break over .00615ish seems quite promising for short term profit and honestly it's really hard to pass up a good opportunity like this

My speculation about this coin i think Monero will go up to $300 before the end of this week and after that there will be some correction then go back into below $250. For the long term i think monero can reach hes new all time high in december but it just my own opinion about this coin.

There is nothing wrong with the opinion that even if what you say will not happen in December this year, because everyone who makes price predictions on a coin also misses a lot, although not by far.

Simple question...
The lightning network is capable of enabling atomic exchange between different blockchains. But the ability is still mostly theoretical, as it has not been developed out much.
However BTC<->XMR cross chain atomic swaps is already built, and even beginning to work.
Why did that development come first?
Hint: The answer is even simpler than the question.

It just a matter of time for XMR to rise again and break the new ATH. My target about monero is very high which is more than $800 in the end of this year. Monero is the only crypto I use as actual money. Because I don’t want the entire Internet to know how much I have, where I got it, or where I spend it.

Why did you set your target so high on Monero for this year? if only one person uses the Monero system, then achieving a very high price will be very difficult to happen because this is not only about one person's preferences, but for many people.

Accumulation at low volume going on, anyone selling is an idiot or seriously over exposed.

Atomic swaps on mainnet are already happening although Comit developers are warning that people should be cautious. Most likely all swaps so far were in very small sum. Interesting stats from WHM a Monero only dark market. Today: 11 October 2020: Number of users tripled.

Monero price action is so delightfully weird. On a day that Bitcoin is raping shitcoins... it decides to go up a little bit. lol. I've been watching it for what 7 years? And I can still not quite figure out what it's gonna do. PS. Febo: The WHM stuff is SUPER compelling. I have always seen it is a mixed blessing. There are only three crypto assets that are REALLY REALLY being used. 1. Bitcoin. 2. Eth. 3. Monero. The rest is all BS. And ETH is really being used as a convoluted lottery ticket/toll. Not that that is not a use case. Just that it's an annoying one. Dark market usage is the ACID TEST for privacy. And also a good enough reason for the state to try to crack down. Mixed blessing...

Monero is one of the altcoins that has very good prospects, even though the price has dropped by 50% from the highest price, but I'm sure Monero will increase even more in the future, because currently its capitalization and volume have greatly increased, I think it's just a problem time for monero to bounce back and be able to switch to its new ATH.

Cool, do they have a list of what addresses are swapping? It would be nice to keep track of the percentage of black listed coins that are being dumped on us.

I don't claim to know anything about how it works, but I had assumed the exchange rate would be far better for the XMR 'seller'; an incentive to take on the probably tainted BTC. Perhaps that will be a user dictated parameter as the testing moves forward? Amazing work. I hadn't believed that the project would move this fast.

Because of it's trust minimized nature I think the spread will be 100% user defined. This is a beautiful thing. But it is indeed obvious selling XMR is buying tainted BTC at least once this going. Isn't it? And it looks like, at least in it's current form, you will not see the sending BTC address until the transaction is complete. I might try a little nibble sometime straight into a whirlpool...

If you go to the l;ink you can see that this is monero being offered only as the opposite swap is not ready until the hard fork. therefore in the link you can change the offering party and see the different rates they are offering to sell their Monero for whatever type of bitcoin they will receive. Personally I can only hope they are doing this to get the ball rolling and are not going to trade all their clean Monero for Tainted worthless shit at those rates.

I want to see how to set up as a swap provider. There is a fairly rocking arb opportunity here, I think.

After the hard fork there should be (arb opportunities) as long as there are BTC buyers.

After the hard fork there should be (arb opportunities) as long as there are BTC buyers. I'd try setting up with an exchange wallet to receive the BTC which I'd sell for cash... Never tainting my personal wallets, and relieving me of the coins immediately. |If the exchange blacklists them, I'd know right away. I sell dribs and drabs for expenses these days anyway, might as well try to multiply my rake with this arb-ortunity.
