Did anything happen to yacoin? The price is currently plummeting down and so is network difficulty.
The difficulty is still right around 0.02. See the diffcultly graph below. http://explorer.yacoin.org/graphs.htmI'd imagine the price drop is due to people mining and converting to BTC. As far as I know, YAC is still (one of) the most profitable coins to mine. I am interest to see how the coin will be affected by the next N-factor increase (at the end of the month - Sat 31 May 2014 14:13:52). YAC will then require a total of 8 MB of memory... IMOP with the higher 'difficulty' to mine, the price will increase.

I'm curious, has anyone had a successful YAC withdrawal from Cryptsy anytime in the recent past? I know a little while back, there was some discussion on that in this thread, but I figured Cryptsy had to have gotten their shit together by several months later. But alas..
WM - I withdraw YAC to my wallet about once a week from Cryptsy. I haven't had any issues with 'major' issues with any recent withdrawals. The only recent hiccup was about a month ago; a transaction got hung up for about 12 hours - I submitted a ticket and they said they were aware of the issue - I think they were updating their wallet.

Is it possible to add some more coins to scryptguild to be mined? I know there was an announcement that several were removed on april 1st, but is there any chance to add some more in? I ask because profit calculators show that some of the newer coins are the most profitable scrypt coin to mine (from time to time). I love scrypt-guild, I just want to make sure it remains the most profitable place to mine. If you read back the past few pages, you will see that eleuthria announced that Scryptguild will be closing soon, with the scrypt mining functions transferred to BTCguild and restricted to LTC and DOGE. I doubt that he is going to add new coins at this late stage. Ah! Thanks!

Are there any XenCoin accepting sites at this moment? Is there an overview somewhere? Except for the exchanges, obviously :-)
@thecarnie: Keep up the good work. Nice to see there is active development on this coin!
The only summary information available at this moment is on the first page of this topic. The coin was pump and dumped by the original dev, and it has a huge premine sitting around that we haven't been able to trace just yet. I'm fighting the QT libraries at the moment to get a new set of clients built and released for now - while I finish bringing the rest of the updates and fixes into the client from the other coins -- Once we get the client re-released with new SSL and checkpoints, we're going to try to offer some bounties to get some more places to accept it for use. I'm also working out a couple other ideas in the back of my head for usage as well -- if you have any ideas, feel free to add to this topic until we get the new one and forums online on it's own site MAKE YOUR SHITS WITH ANOTHER COIN!!! It's good to know how the developer feels... I guess? You guys are doing a lot of good work; but there are literally millions of pre-mined coins that were dumped into the market and millions more since the launch a year ago. I don't know if this coin is worth saving... You guys seem pretty motoivated about it. Maybe launch a new Zencoin or something? This coin has such a bad rep - I'd hate to see it work against you.

I am not familiar with YAC POS calculation. I see this line here Each chunk of eligible coins has it's interest calculated based on the chunk's age in the range between 30 and 90 days.
Does it mean for POS generation if I have 100 YACs in the wallet for 1000 days I can only expect 100 * 90* 5% / 365 reward if a POS block is found? In PPC POS calculation the probability of finding a POS block is based on coin age capped by 90 days but the reward value itself is not capped. In the above example I would expect 100 * (1000 - 30) * 1% / 365 reward. I think you are right. I will update the post. Groko - that is a great post on yacointalk. I've been mining YAC since the launch, and I learned a few things from your overview. Thanks! And I believe mhps is right - I think YAC caps POS at 90 days. So a 100 YAC transaction at 1000 days would produce the same interest as at 90 days (100 * 90 / 365 * 0.05 YAC = 24.65 coin years * 0.05 YAC => 24 years * 0.05 = 1.20 YAC gained). Again the guide is very well written, but it maybe helpful to add an example, or two, of how the 5% interest is calculated. Things like the coin-year rounding down to the nearest whole year weren't initiative to me when I originally started. From the example above, I would have expected 1.23 YAC instead of 1.20 - it boggled my mind why all POS were 'rounded' to the lowest 0.05. I figure if we can save someone an hour of sifting through the forums, it will benefit the community.

I posted this on YACoin Talk too...
I'm interested in setting up a faucet for YAC - but I don't know where to begin. Does anyone have any experience starting one? And would be willing to give me a hand?

It sure does seem like the verters are mounting an impressive pump and dump, but it also seems to be that they are building the community that may allow it to survive. I know that there was a proposal to implement Zerocoin on top of Yacoin, but this now seems to be heading to Vertcoin first. This seems like a very big step in the right direction. Is this still gonna happen for Yacoin? I gotta say I hope so. I am on the fence about Vertcoin but some of the promoters are claiming "this hasn't been done before." No mention of the fact that they have links to Yacminer for the gpu mining and that the only difference is they chose a lower memory requirement to allow it to be more GPU friendly. This is turning me off to Vertcoin because credit should be given where it is due and that is clearly being avoided. But if there was more acknowledgment of the fact that they just tweaked Yacoin a bit then the price would be .0005 at most, which is where Yacoin belongs right now.
I'm not an expert on Vertcoin - but to me it seems like Vertcoin is just another clone. People are hyped right now on 'new coins' and 'such wow' and trying to make a few (quick) bucks. People (including myself) minded bitcoins at a loss of years in hopes that they would someday become valuable and useful. IMOP these new 'hype coins' with 200 posts an hour don't contain any real thought or development. Forums are intended to be a place to share information, thoughts, and knowledge. I understand that not all posts are going to be long; but when I read through a lot of these, there are dozens of pools advertising or people's hashes and dozens more that could have been written by an air-headed 14 year old. Regardless, I agree with your point above, YAC has been getting the short end of the stick; but good things take time. Again (IMOP), people are so wrapped up in their 'profitability calculators' and changing their mining pool 2-3x a day, to make couple of pennies today; while others are looking at building the future of tomorrow. I personally have all of my miners pointed at YAC and I invest in it when ever I can. I believe this coin is greatly under appreciated, and regardless the number of coins that come from our source code, YAC has a strong foundation and a steady growth; unlike some of the 'roller coaster' 'hypecoins.' +1,000% profit today, -5,000% loss tomorrow.

Estimated date of fork: Thursday, February 13th 2014 I got a Valentine date with Yacoin I've verified two of the major pools are on the new version (yac.coinmine.pl & yac.ltcoin.net), however I'm not getting any answer from the admin of yac.m-s-t.org. I'm going to advise anyone mining there to be prepared to switch to a different pool. It's too bad, this pool has been really solid so far, but absenteeism in the admin is never a good thing. Looks like most people have are on yac.coinmine.pl & yacltcoin.net. At the time of posting this the network speed to 1200 khash/sec and only about 48 khash/sec are still at yac.m-s-t.org. Looks like we'll be okay. Hopefully the admins get back to us. It looks like smallcoin.org still has a pool up and running as well. They're contributing 72 khash/sec - anyone know if they are on the right version?

Just Curious- any of you guyz watch Puppy Bowl X yesterday?
what? My wife did, while I was moving my miners back to mine dogecoin (I personally am in favor of leaving the code 'as-is' and allowing 10k new DOGE to be generated per block - it will help ensure the stability of the coin and not just the first 50,000 miners who wanted to 'get rich fast.' All 'real currencies' have some kind of 'inflation.' IMOP - Bitcoin and others (with hard caps) will always be valuable - but they may become too value to use on a daily basis making them less appealing to use as currency. Supplying a steady increase will ensure miners keep the network secure and reduce the swings/crashes in price that BTC endures. My only concern has been resolved - was the OP said there was a 100B cap and the code didn't reflect it.) But the Puppy Bowl is like the superbowl, but with doges? I think it's an annual 'sport.' We should ask the sponsors to accept DOGE for tickets, souvenirs, refreshments, etc next year. Might be a good way to, publicly, promote DOGE.
