Yes when I add bitfury -o 54 it does not let mining start.  I'm not sure if I am messing the arrangement due to being exhausted or not.

I am finally going to overclock my RedFuries.  I am not sure how to add the oscillator commands in MuM like I do in the BFG command line without apparently causing havok.

What arguments are you trying to use? For most any bfgminer arguments you should be able to enter them under Settings > Advanced miner settings in the Arguments area. Is that giving you trouble?

We don't have any of their big banks up here.  Closest too far away.

cashintocoins.com is easy to work with. deposit cash into big-name bank. get coins in est. 24 hours.

This guy is recommended.
Hopefully he can help you.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364290.0

I did something extremely stupid the other day. I, in a jumble of wires, plugged my 12v BFL Jalapeno power into my 5v D-Link Hub...ooops! Within a second the redfury/hub (not sure which) began to smoke which is where I hastily unplugged it.

The USB Hub works fine still, but the Redfury now comes up on windows as "usb device has malfunctioned and cannot be used" I also had a lil 333MH/s erupter which also blew up but I don't care much about that, that one doesn't even read as being plugged in.

Is it time to bin the redfury or is there any hope at all. I don't really know anything about circuit board electronics, could a pencil mod save me if it's blown the resistor or anything like that?

State laws are nuts at time.
NY is screwed for all sorts of law because of NYC.

Bitsimple is not available to NY residents that sucks.

Yes, NY, CA, and I think VA.  The US is strange where you need each states approval for any sort of "banking related" business.  NY is one of the tougher states to get approved in for anything, banking, securities, insurance etc.

I will check them out now thanks.

bitsimple.com.  spreads stink, but they do it right.

I think this is the easiest and most simple way but you'll pay maybe $10-15/coin vs an exchange.  If you have a cc or paypal account you can get verified with 5 min via cc and 24 hr via paypal.  US based in SC and basically run by member on this forum, so I would considered very trusted.  Plus once you buy you have your coin super fast to do with what you want with it.

Debit card, Paypal or some such.  I live rural so getting to banks for wire transfers are a bit more difficult and western union charges $65 for same day service now it's nuts.
As for my paypal I know there are many scammers but I use mine for sales on Ebay and would never jeopardize my perfect record by scamming anyone.
I also have made done trasnactions with BreathofZen on here and he can vouch for me.  I am actually buying some gear from another trusted member on here as well.  We are going to use Canaryinthemine for escrow once I get the BTC.

.76 BTC

Great info everyone.  I am checking this all out now.
I appreciate all the help.
So many scams it's difficult to know what to do.

How many coins are you looking for?

How are you trying to pay?

I had seen a bunch of stuff about that and also the chemicals that are in the food and clothing over there are terrible too.
No need for safety I guess when you have a billion+ disposable people as their government treats them like.

Don't get me wrong…
It is possible to get a 49 port 'hub tree' or even greater…. but not like that.

I have a very nice design for a 20,40,60,80 but the problem is the cost,  to get decent manufacturing prices I would have to run 500-1,000 pcs
(yep I could EASILY manufacture myself… but end up contaminating my residence with Lead/antinomy/mercury compounds)(queue red neck with toaster oven)

Just how many customers would I have…?
No one in their right mind is going to be using USB sticks for that sort of mine setup, which would basically leave setups for manufacturing.

Yesterday I was watching CCTVn ,
which is like a China undercover reporting… Shock HORROR… they found government approved Plastic water pipe manufacturers using Medical waste and contaminated plastics for municipal water supply pipe…
Y…A….W….N…  they do EXACTLY the same with all the food products they manufacture for the Export market… toasters, water kettles, clip together food containers (which incidentally is WHY I NEVER buy such products.. all my shit is glass or stainless)

Unfortunately what most people what these days is the cheapest shit possible, even if they have to buy and replace it 10 times….

If there is such a curse as reincarnation, I want to come back as the dumbest banjo strumming MOFO on the planet, because Ignorance truly is bliss.

Do you know how to get an invite to be able to purchase with a debit card?
I live quite rural so it's a pain to go anywhere for WU and money orders and such unless there is a way to do that online?

Ya , I can walk to www.getcoincafe.com from my place, or I can stay home and buy it online zero fee and the price is actual, and its instantly recieved. I use btc-e.com to convert btc to altcoins.   I wouldn't bother with btc-e.com due to the time it takes to send USD to the site and  to convert btc to USD, because of the long delay if ever of getting fiat back to my bank. If your in North America.. ya have to wait a long time

2393  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: January 25, 2014, 05:42:22 AM
That is a great deal of savings.

My power consumption is becoming insane ( nearing 3kwh ) so I'll gladly do the math for me to see if it's beneficial.

For me 1kw electricity 24/7 31days is 178euro.

My 4* 280x rig uses ~1.110kwh and delivers 2.88MH ( including setup )
41* Dual miners would uses ~ 103kwh and devilers 2.87MH (excl setup , anker usb hub + fan uses ~3.5w )

So my electricity cost just went from ~200e to ~19e , let's say I am saving 180e a month

Cost :
full 280x setup ~1600e
full dual miner setup : ~4000euro excl shipping+taxes

so a ROI of over a year.

2394  Economy / Economics / Quick way to buy BTC without a long wait???? on: January 25, 2014, 05:41:18 AM
Hi everyone,
I am wondering if there is a quicker way to buy BTC than waiting the week + on coinbase?
I have a coinbase account but due to their ID Verification system being messed up I have to wait a week + for any BTC I buy.
This is immensely frustrating I just want to buy about .76 of BTC for a transaction and not wait forever.
Are there any quick exchanges?

Thanks
2395  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [IN-STOCK, SHIPPING, OPEN] Professional quality USB hubs for USB bitcoin miners on: January 25, 2014, 05:21:47 AM
Lots of great info.
I was leery of the 49 ports hubs.  They looked great but other than the 333mh/s sticks I rarely saw them full with other types of USB ASIC's.

Yep that bitch is 20A clear……. and that's the constant current it can provide at 5v1
There is even room to slap in different PSU, but there is no need…

And yep I know they are not cheap…. if I could find a way to sell this stuff at $50USD there would be a massive market, that said , how many USB 2.0 hubs have we bought over the years… I have a massive box of them I use for spares….

I have a couple of other USB hub products in Metal cases I evaluated, but they fall down on the PSU, and by the time I costed a new case and integral PSU … they come out at about the same cost.

Since the Fury chips are highly dependent on the onboard regulators, the closer you can get to 5.X at the socket, the cleaner the regulation at the chip…

Once the supply at the socket comes down to 4.7-4.8 then the regulation goes on the buck convertor feeding the  Fury.

Seriously….. next time they used a buck convertor, they should have targeted one that could go as low 3-4v for it's supply rail…, very few devices give 5v at the USB socket…

This is why the 49 port hubs are dodgy…. you have the potential for 40-50A of current slopping around the tracks, ping ponging about at  MH bit rates…..
god only knows what all that inductance looks like on a double sided pcb…..
Plus the other issue is the 'sense wire' is too far away from the farthest USB connector when using the ATX PSU @5v

Weeeeeeeeee……

I see.
It is a great find.

here is the amazon page on this edition. as you can see this one has 2 covers. mine seems to be the less common one. with the battle scene and David Hargraves signature on the cover

2398  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BUtterfly Labs 50 GH/s Miner on: January 25, 2014, 01:51:47 AM
I saw that on MMC.
I am trying to replicate that myself.
Not much success yet though.

So far we've got .. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

1) Don't do it
2) Buy alt-coins instead
3) BFL sucks
4) Doorstops

But truth be told people are mining right now ..
1 GH/s has the same daily rate of return as 500 GH/s ..

The 'arms' race is in full force judging by the thread where the OP
is offering Cointerra 2 TH/s miners for 3X what he paid for them ..
( of course, they're not "in hand" just yet )  Wink Grin

Some dev over on the MMC ( memory coin ) thread just figured out
how to boost CPU mining by +300% ( faster than the best GPU rigs
according to the other posters ) ..

If I wait until May .. we can have this same discussion with
regards to the newly obsolete +1 TH/s miners !!

I just thought it would be fun/marginally profitable to
do a little mining with hardware ( I can actually get my hands on )
for "grins and giggles" going forward and it gives me something to
do while waiting for my next SS check to roll in  ..

Triff ..  An old dog trying to learn a new trick !!!!! Cool
