2381  Economy / Reputation / Re: Confession - Zapo=aTriz. on: October 13, 2018, 10:47:12 AM
Shame. He was pretty much the only "new" campaign manager who came here and was doing what he should have been by checking and denying participants due to quality, but something didn't seem right because of that because it's such an anomaly. I even thought about leaving him positive trust because of it but glad I didn't now.

I think we should probably be more weary of 'new' campaign managers here because they're often trusted with a lot of money and I'm sure many of them will just be building up for some long con or siphon off money to their alts (as some have already been caught doing).
2382  Economy / Reputation / rezwalker probably bought merit from Embroiderymate on: October 13, 2018, 10:45:31 AM
As per the title I find it highly probable that rezwalker bought merit from Embroiderymate.

July 21, 2018, 11:09:23 AM: 2 from Embroiderymate for Re: where to sell tokens?

Shitposts he was merited for:

One merit :

nobs(nobs crypto) will take care of all scammers in future
so we will identify scammers easier

Two:

as suggested goto coinmarketcap
and see the prices of your token
see the markets u can use,and the volumes
then choose one ,and you are ready to go

Embroiderymate has negative trust for trying to sell merit (thread is removed though):

2383  Economy / Reputation / Re: You think I am a scammer? mdayonliner's reputation on: October 13, 2018, 10:36:43 AM
There is no way to know what you would have done with that money had you been sent it...
But leaving the feedback means you knew the outcome or technically you guessed the outcome and acted without even bothering the correction I made.

No it doesn't. It means I don't trust you. When a previous ponzi promoter tries to get his hands on $100k I think that is pretty alarming and I don't trust that behaviour. Had you of been sent that sort of money I think it's highly probable you would have just ran off with it.

I withdraw the offer immediately, I sent you PM about it but you never responded.

So? That doesn't invalidate the act and wipe it from history.

2384  Other / Meta / Re: Suggested guidelines for bounty managers. @theymos pls take a look and help us. on: October 13, 2018, 10:30:18 AM
Without some basic rules it just become pure anarchy and the greedy shit all over the place and ruin it for everyone else. That's why we need some rule of law, but that doesn't mean you have to rule with an iron fist. I'd say expecting some sort of minimum standards here is in everyone's interest, especially when the forum has become largely unfit for it's true purpose.

I agree with with you. I have shared just idea. It's really not rules, but admin could chose some of them that I suggested. Or admin should make few rules or guideline himself. Something is better than nothing. This forum almost working fine because there is few rules. Even a country or a company can't run without rules. I believe there should be few rules also for bounty managers. Don't leave them free.

People seem to think that this forum is a free-for-all and anything goes and because it's a forum about bitcoin that means there's no rules because of decentralisation. Bitcoin has rules. So does this forum. We don't have to have a list of thousands of them written like a legal document but we need at least some to keep some basic order and functionality, but this forum is a pretty good example of what happens when you don't have many rules or enforce the ones you do have as people are quick to exploit that when they realise they can get away with certain things.
2385  Other / Meta / Re: What can we do to stop redundant full quotes? on: October 13, 2018, 10:26:25 AM
Automatically hiding every other one except the one you're directly quoting would be helpful. The quotes should be collapsible, like they are on some other forums and you can toggle them to see the full quote or not. I don't think it's a huge issue though but people should probably be urged to just quote the relevant part(s) (though most are probably too lazy to do that in the first place). As far as I recall and last time theymos commented on this he said quoting on the new forum software would be similar to how 4chan does it.
2386  Other / Meta / Re: Time to implement rules for bounty managers on: October 13, 2018, 07:55:18 AM
The last straw for you is their inability to spell words right? I think we should be punishing campaign managers, but not because of their illiteracy.

Theymos doesn’t believe in regulations. He refuses to participate in the creating of regulations that would even result in greater freedoms (ability to buy btc in etf form) for bitcoin holders.

This forum has rules. So does bitcoin. If you come here and spam rubbish or copy and paste then you get banned. The same should be applied to those who are paying them to do this in the first place and if we don't 'regulate' campaigns then nothing will change here as they will continue to be lazy and pay for any old spam. The forum is such a shitshow because we've done little to nothing about spam coming from campaigns. Had we done something about it years ago instead of just letting it breed then the forum wouldn't be such the eyesore it is now.

Guys, i dont know what do you think about when you say plagiarism or chief some words, maybe my english is not satisfy, i'm doing my best anyway... I found here a lot of usefull on this forum that's why i prefer bitcointalk. That topic that was found as "stolen"  may be as warn but no for as ban! Please, don't perceive that as chief, you can watch that account life time that i had spent not so much time to understand all the rules of this forum. I respect every minds of that and nowadays it is not so easy to earn the rank here. Ban for some time is will be lesson for me and for all the beginers of this forum. Thanks for attention.

Most of your posts seem to be copy and pastes.

Currently, more than 95% of all players are deprived of the opportunity to convert their gaming achievements into real money or use them when switching to another game.

Why plagiarize Huh
Is it really so hard to read a thread and debate if you are interested?
You deservedly earned a ban, and do not make more such mistakes for the future ...

Read his posts in this thread. That's why he plagiarises. When you can't speak English what do we expect them to do?
2389  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source application on: October 11, 2018, 01:14:50 PM
Yes, ok, neutral by Lutpin but for merit begging and red tagged by a moderator. It looks to me like very low chances of becoming a merit source, the same way as becoming anything on this forum, like a moderator or to be added on DT. The red tag by hilariousandco is very important. Do you think someone he doesn’t trust is going to be added as a merit source?

I don’t know if that could be solved in some way, as sometimes red tags have been deleted or changed to neutral.

The feedback doesn't mean he can't be trusted to send merits, and others may even disagree with the feedback. Admittedly no scam was committed, though he did try to escrow a deal for over $100k and has promoted ponzis in the past and for me that's untrustworthy behaviour and I think there would have been a very high chance of him running away with the money if he ever secured it and that's why I left the feedback. Others, including theymos, may disagree. I haven't looked into his merit history so I can't say whether he would be a good choice or not, but merely having negative (even from me) shouldn't 100% exude you from ever being a merit source, especially if you're an active member and are regularly giving out accurate merit for noteworthy posts. I'm sure theymos is intelligent and impartial enough to take all the available evidence and make up his own mind whether he should be a merit source or not and it's only him that gets to decide who is made one or not currently.

...Why then create this thread or specify an email banappeals-w6pquw43@theymos.e4ward.com when there are no answers?

It's a cruel hilarious joke that theymos plays on people who get banned: it gives you the illusion you can somehow be the exception among the rest of the rabble that get banned for plagiarism on a daily basis, just like the "close doors" button in an elevator or the "push to cross" button at a stoplight.

It kind of is cruel and certainly redundant either way. That message should be removed or at least edited. Perhaps listing a few of the most common bans would be more beneficial so people don't waste time creating another account in Meta or mailing the void of an unmonitored email address. I wonder how long someone has kept messaging it waiting for a response before they just gave up.

...Why then create this thread or specify an email banappeals-w6pquw43@theymos.e4ward.com when there are no answers?

But I see no reason for a permanent ban, there must be a way to restore the profile.
It's amazing how similar these threads appealing a ban for plagiarism tend to be. The OP professes ignorance of what he's done; other users dig up examples of plagiarism; OP claims this isn't a big deal and ought to be given a second chance; users laugh as they relish the delicious schadenfreude; OP either leaves in disgust or starts calling us "dog" [sic] (and then leaves in disgust).

No less surprising that the thread also did not have an official response. I am not going to insult anyone and I see no reason to laugh. From my point of view, it is sad that I have been on the forum for more than a year, and only now I get a ban.

It's not as sad as the fact that people come here and think it's acceptable to copy and paste other's content.
2391  Other / Meta / Re: Can we talk about the rampant account trading in the local forums? on: October 11, 2018, 12:48:57 PM
Russian board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=236.0
It is absolutely flooded with account traders. This has become normalized.

It has always been normalised here. If we allow it then why wouldn't people do it? There's some serious money to be made from account farming and high-ranked accounts are worth more than ever right now especially when Hero and Legendaries are going to become very, very rare to achieve with the merit requirements. Heck, a Member account probably commands quite a bit of money now as ten merit is very difficult to get for a shitposter. The only way we can really stop or at least severely dent this activity and business is if we allow people to buy the benefits of the ranks via more donator titles (like Silver and Gold etc). I think this is something we should seriosuly look at doing because it will severely curb the account selling/farming/hacking market and stop a lot of people from getting scammed (there's probably more people scamming trying to sell non-existent accounts they don't even have as opposed to genuine sales right now), so let people buy the benefits of the ranks safely from the forum instead of that money going to some scumbag account farmer/hacker/scammer and it's then win-win for everyone (apart from the farmer/hacker/scammers).

Don't forget the time someone had their whole entire "office" accounts banned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1912475.0
I remember that one.  It's sad, but part of me thinks situations like that really do exist in poor countries where bitcointalk's potential for providing a living wage spreads like wildfire through word of mouth.

I'm sure they do, but that one was bullshit because they started the sentences with the same thing and just regurgitated the same post but reworded slightly, so they all just belonged to one person who got a bit ahead of himself. If there already isn't some sort of offices set up to farm bounties then I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they actually will be, but we're already seeing proof of it in a small scale at least with the picture you were sent of the group of people posting away. These things will naturally grow and expand like any business or industry especially when the money is too good and easy to earn. The merit system has made things a little bit more difficult for them as you now can't just create as many accounts as you want and rise them through the ranks merely over time, but they're still going to find ways around it like buying merit and trading it between themselves etc and we've already seen multiple cases of that as well.  Punishing signature campaigns obviously needs to be the next step because trash posters just shouldn't be getting paid in the first place and that's the source of the issue here.
2393  Economy / Reputation / Re: You think I am a scammer? mdayonliner's reputation on: October 11, 2018, 12:30:54 PM
Having negative trust on my profile does not mean that I scammed anyone or even tried to scam anyone on this forum or anywhere else. Even, I never asked a penny from anyone in this site.

Yes you did. You literally asked someone to send you over $100k and that's what you got the negative feedback for. There is no way to know what you would have done with that money had you been sent it but I think the chances of you just running off with it were very high. That sort of money could make even an honest man turn into a scammer and people will run off with much less. Of course you could have had every intention of safely holding the money and returning it when asked but that's something we'll never know. The feedback doesn't say you're a scammer but to trade with caution and lists the reasons why I find you untrustworthy, but you can't do anything about how others interpret that other than telling them to actually read the feedback and that no money was ever actually scammed.

Don't forget the time someone had their whole entire "office" accounts banned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1912475.0

That's why they all shared the same IP and obviously wasn't someone just writing the same sentence just reworded slightly account after account page after page on two hundred accounts.

And my personal favourite is the husband and wife duo who are so in love they virtually have to hold hands on the forum and post back-to-back because they can't bare to not be side by side:

@hilarious you sounds like a cheap uneducated moran on the forum who do not even know how to analyze.
He is my husband i follow him that is our true love and yeah YA govoryu po-russki and what ever i wish, there is no rule to speak only russian or english. Don't imagine and trigger your cheap intentions on others. It is all the digital world we live in and for safety we do change passwords and authenticate our accounts moreover you are not a DT member but a cheap guy here.

Learn how to write "bitcoin" first and you are a "Legendary" writes the word as bitcoib and you write in your bio you are an educated moran look at your story of maturity here Lol on your cheap life reference: https://imgur.com/a/82PJ6VF

I think I analysed the situation pretty accurately. I spotted a "husband and wife" merely by their posting habits and without any other information at all. What are the chances of that? But we all know that's just an idiotic bullshit excuse you've come out with. You are blatant alt accounts just shitposting one after the other for money.

Also, if you're going to come after people for spelling things wrong then you should make sure you get things right. It's 'moron' not moran. And besides, I like to mock the shitposters here and their illiteracy, hence why I have put your garbled rubbish in my person text and the "bitcoib is my successful" is a quote of another shitposter that I found funny.

Curse you shall suffer with diseases and loose everything in your life.

Lol. You talk about immaturity yet come out with talk about curses? You're just another backwards shitposter who doesn't deserve to be here.

And not that we needed to prove that it was bullshit, but:

He is my husband i follow him that is our true love and yeah YA govoryu po-russki and what ever i wish [...]

Need to say that nikki4's messages were written by a male in Russian language.

2395  Other / Meta / Re: As the spammers seem to of started to find meta... on: October 10, 2018, 10:29:57 AM
Why aren't you making the case that we remove signatures from Bitcoin Discussion since that's the sub board with the most spam and has been ruined the most? Removing signatures from there would surely resolve that?

I have made post about that for disable signature below member rank all over forum. To be honest , removing signature will not resolve spam but it will reduce. Whatever you make rules there will be few rules breaker. Never mind how strong your rules. But remove signature no one will make unnecessary post.

Removing signatures will stop signature spam, which is probably 99% of the spam here. I wouldn't be against removing signatures, but I don't think it's going to happen. If we were going to remove signatures though then I don't think we should do it for everyone as that's unfair to those who have actually contributed something here and it's the spammers who will leave as soon as that happens and will have then ruined it for everyone else. Remove signatures from everyone and require a ridiculous amount of earned merit before you can get one. That seems more fair. You could also let people purchase more donator ranks in addition which get you the benefits of signatures, but I would only be for that if they were sufficiently expensive, so either earn your merit or cough up for a signature. Or go away. Either way you can still post as normal so nobody is effected from that.

But I very much doubt that the increase in the distribution of merit in the beginners sub will have a positive effect on reducing the amount of spam.

I agree with that, and some of your subsrquent comments. However, there are two issues here. One is the reduction of spam, and this seems to be the main focus for everybody. Of course this needs to be controlled, but it may not be the major factor that will restrict the growth of the forum. I think the encouragement and development of new members is far more important, and I have noticed that a few of the spammers seem to have moved away from the darkside, and be joining the bright future for Bitcoin.

If we can start some decent discussions, and make them self-moderated to chuck out the spammers and low value posters, then perhaps we can breathe a bit of life into a couple of the heavily polluted boards.

You simply need to clamp down on the people who are paying people to spam as that's the cause of the issue. If a user signs up here and spams then they get a ban. If these people who keep getting banned are on the same campaign then that campaign should get the ban. Once ICOs start getting banned from activities here they'll soon change their ways because this forum is too valuable to them. They get away with it at the moment because there's no repercussions for them doing a lousy job so they're not magically going to change because that's far too much work for them that they just don't need to do right now.
2396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: October 10, 2018, 08:39:54 AM
People are too optimistic for a rematch. It won't happen, mark my words. Khabib isn't about the 'money' and after what happened I doubt he will cross paths with Gregor again in his career. Things 'actually' got bad between them. This 'tension' wasn't fake for promotion. You can feel it in khabib's eyes when McChicken was talking shit.

@justspare Lol, I kinda agree but people lose interest in things overnight. I doubt "Muslims" will watch the fight if there is a rematch.

What makes you think it's about the money for him? Why wouldn't he want another opportunity to beat him? Connor has a slim chance of actually winning against him unless he gets lucky. There's obviously some real bad blood between these two now, or at least for Khabib. McGregor just says things to be inflammatory to try get inside your head and it's a good tactic and often works because it can give you an advantage and can often make your opponent lose their cool, and that's what happened when Khabib did a Cantona and jumped into the audience. Apparently Conor's trainer was taunting him during and after the fight making racial and religious slurs so that's why he did what he did. I'd like to see a rematch because the badblood might make for a more explosive fight now and who else are those guys going to fight?
2397  Other / Meta / Re: Vote for new moderators who deserve it. @theymos please take a look. on: October 10, 2018, 08:31:53 AM
What? How so? Nothing much has changed other than shitposters now need one merit and once they get that it's business as usual (and it's really not hard to get at all whether you buy it or not). Bitcoin Discussion is still a spam fest and people are still shitting up it up 24/7 and that's not going to change anytime soon or until signature campaigns are punished for paying for spam. In the meantime we can add some mods to help clean the place up.

BD is desperately crying out for moderation. I've been reporting several spam mega threads a day for the past couple of weeks to be locked or trashed - they always are, but sometimes it is taking 48-72 hours for the reports to be acted upon. I'm not saying this in a derogatory way, but the global mods clearly have just too much to do without also being board mods for the majority of boards that don't have a dedicated mod.

Locking a spam thread isn't really an urgent report. We have to actually go through the thread and make sure it has actually served its purpose. Sometimes I leave the reports because it's arguable about what a spam thread is. Sometimes the original post can be well written and well thought out, but if spammers can just answer the question in the title without reading the thread then it can quickly become unusable, but also sometimes people can still be making intelligent posts in there. This is why I think we should be cracking down on campaigns that pay for this crap rather than playing cat and mouse and locking good threads that have just turned to drivel because of spammers that are being paid for low quality contributions. Until that changes we're just wasting time and energy really.

well now that we have access to our own stats, it'd be possible to compile a community list in the case theymos for whatever reason isn't willing to compile another top 50 list in the future.

You can compile as many lists as you want but it's futile if theymos isn't going to take any notice of it and the problem here is theymos just isn't acting on these things.
2398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 life sentences +40 years for The Silk Road creator (PETITION FOR CLEMENCY) SIG on: October 10, 2018, 08:25:28 AM

I can agree with that, they did not need it to send him away. I also agree with them leaving out the corrupt agents for obviouse reasons.

So my question to you would be do you believe 2 life sentences + 40 years was a reasonable punishment? I won't judge either way I am just curious as to if you agree with it yes or no?

No. I don't believe anyone should be locked up for life other than murderers, and especially not for merely running a dark net market (and if that's all we're arguing about here). I think there's a double standard in that he got a harsher punishment than some of the actual drug dealers and traffickers who used the site. I don't really think there's anything morally wrong with drug dealing, as long as you are A) Not forcing anyone to do drugs or are pushing harder drugs on someone, and B) don't commit acts of violence due to your business, but obviously the government doesn't agree with that and their punishments are harsh for it and everyone knows that and unless the laws change then the harsh punishments won't either. I guess there's been some progress in the States with the legalisation or decriminalisation of cannabis, so maybe that will lead to relaxed laws on other 'lighter' drugs but only time will tell. The war on drugs is an obviously failure so they probably should just give up and let people buy drugs from darknet markets but that's probably too scary a thought for the average person or politician, but regardless of what they do people are always going to be buying and selling drugs regardless of the punishments or consequences and the sooner they accept that the better in my opinion.

2400  Other / Meta / Re: As the spammers seem to of started to find meta... on: October 10, 2018, 07:28:13 AM
I would suggest that all the merit sources put a hold on giving merits in meta for a while,
I thought of a merit boycott like this when Theymos made the most recent changes, but I didn't want to make a new thread in Meta about it and thought it might have been too drastic--not that any of the shitposters would have read it anyway to know that they wouldn't be able to earn merits by posting there, nor probably would that even stop them.

As with any merit giving people should just take it on a case by case basis, but I don't think we should stop giving them out in certain sections, but you can certainly stop giving them for certain types of posts. People either complaining or just 'agreeing' that the merit system is good probably shouldn't get them. If people stopped meriting posts in here then I'd probably have 98% less merits, but things like boycotts only ever work if everyone (or a significant) percentage of people are involved. There'll always be one or two users (or scabs) that make it ineffective and it's impossible to get everyone on board.

totally agree with this point - I nearly sent a merit to a bounty spammer earlier because he made a funny post.
So why didn't you merit it? Just because he is into bounties doesn't make a bad poster. I don't know who you're talking about, but if it were a funny post, then there was some thought behind it, and a merit for that won't make the world upside down or flat for that matter, unless the post was plagiarized or something, then it is a different story. Cause merit is to be given for high quality posts and not post history. Not meriting people who participate bounty in bounties is like not giving citizenship rights to a black man or a muslim guy.

This is why I think the merit requirement should be higher and put up to ten. People would probably actually be more liberal with their merit giving then and giving one out for an entertaining post should be ok, but when one merit is all somebody needs to be able to post it's dicey. One merit is far too easy to get and is too prone to abuse so I personally think we should keep the one merit to become a Junior but remove their signatures and you can only get one when you achieve ten merit and become a Member.
