2381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with nonsignificant altcoins on: January 23, 2021, 02:59:05 PM
Why are you calling coins like XLM and Monero nonsignificant? Just because the value of those coins are lower that that of bitcoin? I don't think this is how you are supposed to judge a coin. There are shit/scam coins out there that has has more value than Ethereum. Does that mean ethereum is "nonsignificant"?'
With BTC so high, does it make more sense to trade them for BTC, or for USD?
If you would to like to continue investing, then convert those altcoins to bitcoin. If most of your altcoins are some random tokens/coins, then don't bother holding them. Waste of time and opportunity. On other hand, I don't see any reason why you would want to convert those altcoins to fiat (unless you badly need cash money).
2382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertising monitored closely on: January 23, 2021, 02:37:13 PM
Oh wow, now this is some interesting news. Never expected those gambling regulatory body would be targeting and monitoring gambling advertisements out there. I mean there are thousands of advertisements and it's impossible for them to track each and every advertisements. I am starting to doubt someone might have placed/reported the advertisement to the higher authorities after he/she thought it was inappropriate. Either this or the government has some every powerful tools!

This aside we do have a bigger problem here to address.
1. Why did the company use this kind of advertising in the first way ?
2. What should we do to ensure that kids under 18 doesn't start to gamble? We cannot ask them for identity cards and then expect them to show.

1. I highly doubt they did this to attract children. They might have overlooked the problem in the design. I mean, if I saw the advertisement, I don't think I would have noticed anything "weird".

2. Nothing you can do.
2383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let`s say bitcoin replaces fiat. What happens? on: January 23, 2021, 09:11:23 AM
I would be more concerned about the global economy rather than being concerned about miners "being in power".
I doubt bitcoin is going to replace fiat. Maybe after decades or even centuries, but not now. Think what is going to happen to those countries where access to the internet isn't cheap. Countries that are under developed and lagging behind in technology. They won't be able to trade with anyone outside their country and hence make them suffer more.
Won`t the people with the most miners at that time stay on top forever?
They will be the only people to generate the supply or obtain supply from network fees when there is none left in nature.
Wouldn't there be more "competition" as there will be more miners and the difficulty be increased?
2384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will be the price of Doge Coin this coming week on: January 23, 2021, 08:52:48 AM
You mean to ask when the next dogecoin pump is going to happen? Who knows. The price of doge coin is quite unpredictable. Pumps happen randomly without any reason.
Or maybe wait for Elon Musk to make a tweet about doge coin. Too bad he got fired from being the CEO of doge coin  Embarrassed Roll Eyes .
If you are looking for long term profit, the doge coin I doubt is a good coin to be holding. Maybe try some other well known altcoins?
2385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the things to look for when buying Altcoin? on: January 23, 2021, 07:00:22 AM
Currently, if you want to buy any altcoin, it is very difficult. You can't choose an option quite easily. Also, the crypto market is currently volatile. In such circumstances if one wants to buy altcoin. So what should be the main focus?
Maybe look for coins that are well established? Coins that are constantly being developed and has an active community. Avoid coins that offer nothing new and are just clones of other coins. Don't go chasing after coins that are being "pumped" 100x in a day. Those are usually shit coins and are being manipulated by the developers so that when people starts to invest in those coins, they can dump it and make profit for their own while rest of them suffers. Just learn about the coins before investing it and see how much potential it has.
2386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better, ether or bitcoin? on: January 22, 2021, 06:07:03 PM
Both ethereum and bitcoin are different coins which offers different features. You can't compare both the coins and say which one is better as they both have different use cases. They both are excellent and better than most of the altcoins.
If you are talking about which coin is better to invest in, then go for both. Split your investment so you don't miss out on any. But people say that Ether is highly undervalued. But then again, we can say the same for bitcoin too.
2387  Economy / Speculation / Re: FUDS are big Confirmations that were in a Bull Market!!!!!! on: January 22, 2021, 05:33:17 PM
Nothing new. Every time when the price starts to skyrocket, it is then we see that the "media" creates a certain interest surrounding crypto currencies. They start spreading FUDs and as the price starts to increase more, weird stories that makes no sense starts to popup. Like look at this double spending article. The way they are using titles for their articles, it sounds like the bitcoin protocol has a huge flaw that is going to break the whole bitcoin system. Again, the other day, stories were popping about a man losing his bitcoins in a hard drive. That same story keeps on popping every time bitcoin sees a bullish trend. FUDs are so common nowadays. All we can do is ignore them.
2388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take Advantage on: January 22, 2021, 02:46:53 PM
Stop asking the same question again and again. Maybe read those previous threads that has been already created (o just google "when is the right time to invest in crypto currencies?"). You will keep on getting kind of answers: People trying to shill for shit coins, people trying to act like some experts, people blasting random prediction and then few people suggesting you something that might we worth reading.
So price have dipped? Then eventually start buying instead of waiting for it to dip more. NO ONE can answer how much lower the price are going to go. Just follow few of those golden rules like buying during dips and investing only what you can afford to lose.
2389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Do you like to make money in your free time? on: January 22, 2021, 08:46:48 AM
I will take more time to check the project and check from time to time. For now it seem like it will give a low return on investment. This is just a first sight conclusion, not a final say. However there are some other ways to make better profit especially with day trading and short term buying low and selling high. All you need is to acquire the right skills.
Maybe you should take more "time" to check his trust rating. Look at his current active flag and the thread it links to. According to the scam accusation thread, they have fake team members using fake photos. All those photos are from adobe stock photo. They don't even have their own whitepaper. They shamelessly copy pasted everything from another source.
Don't waste your time. This is another scam project. One of the worst I have seen lol.
2390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of so many cryptocurrencies? on: January 22, 2021, 08:08:41 AM
Around 99% of those crypto currencies that you are seeing are of no use. They are worthless with no actual use case. Only few of those coins are actually worth something because they offer features that can give solutions to current problems in the crypto currency system. Rest of them are either clone of some coins or are made to scam people. Those coins are usually pumped to gain investors attention. Once investors start investing in those coins, the coins get dumped and eventually die.
So, yeah the only point of those 99% of coins is to scam people, while others offer some unique features that are useful in one way or the other.
2391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I kept receiving strange TRC10 tokens in my Trust Wallet, should i be worried? on: January 22, 2021, 07:45:05 AM
-snip-

Hey guys, for the past 4 days now I have been receiving strange TRC10 tokens in a Trust Wallet where I kept my Tron-based USDT and TRX, about 5 of them now. Is it something I should be worried about? Please I need a response if I need to transfer out my funds and create a new wallet to store them.
As long as you are sure that your wallet is 100% secured, then you can safely ignore those. No one can do anything (other than annoy you) to your funds by send you random tokens. I guess those are spam transactions. Like others said, they are probably trying to promote their shit tokens. They are mass spamming those tokens to others wallets and hope that they will look up those tokens, be interested and invest in those. But you shouldn't. Look at those token names "UnicSwap". Are they trying to copy uniswap or something?

Edit:
I'm kinda surprised that many people don't know about this, there is rewards for holding Tron coins in your wallet, that's you will get free airdrop tokens every once in a while, the higher the Tron coins you have in your wallet the higher the airdrop tokens you will earn, some will be shitcoins for sure but not all of them, there are few you will be able to sell, that is if you have enough

-snip-
Oh didn't know that. Why would someone want those shitty airdrops?
2392  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I get rich by trading on: January 21, 2021, 09:38:34 AM
Yeah you can if you are consistent. Nothing is impossible. Just don't get your hopes high as soon as you start trading. Trading takes patience and you will eventually start making profit once you get hold of it through experience. Don't forget, mistakes that you will make will help you learn better.

Only less than 10% of the people really makes money by trading.

Really? Where did you get this statistics from? I doubt only "10%" of the people really makes money by trading. If this was real, no one would want to trade.
Only we ourselves have to decide that,
where we want to be..
In 10% people or in 90% people
At this point, it looks like you are just trying to demotivate people from trading.
2393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crazy fund manager spreading incredible FUD on: January 21, 2021, 09:17:28 AM
I haven't looked at the video, but if I were you, I would see what he has to say and point out the problems or counter argue whatever he said with logic and facts so that others can see.  Those people just try to seek attention by talking trash about crypto currencies. Kinda feels like they are either butthurt or just regret not investing early, hence tries to undermine bitcoins for their own peace.
It would be better if you gave a detailed explanation and left. But I listened to his explanations and couldn't figure out what he was after. I always wonder what they are aiming to spread this kind of news. In other words, are they trying to get what the nation has by scare the market?
Lol, most of the people who trash talk about crypto currencies are exactly like him. They can't explain why they "hate" crypto currencies. All they say is gibberish.
2394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best to inheritance of btc and crypto on: January 20, 2021, 09:27:14 PM
Any ideas of best and most effective ways to inheritance btc and crypto ?
I guess you mean what is the best and efficient way to "earn" bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, right? Do you have any skills or experience that you can sell? If you can, then open  a thread over here and sell whatever skills you have. Accept payment in bitcoin or other well known crypto currencies (don't accept shitcoins). This way, you will be earning coins without having to spend money to buy them.
Or you could invest on bitcoin every month from your savings. If you keep on holding it for long term, you will likely make some sweet profits.
If you really meant "inheritance", maybe take the privates keys...? Idk, have a look at what others are saying.
2395  Economy / Economics / Re: How to optimise paying taxes when cashing BTC ? on: January 20, 2021, 08:51:41 PM
Hi,

Another newbie question...
I'm considering cashing some BTC (just to buy more later after the bull run)...
What are some strategies to minimize / "optimise" paying taxes for the USD received into my bank account for selling BTC.

Edit: Adding some context: I'm based on Spain and I am not using Coinbase.

Thank you!
If it is a huge amount of coins, then I would suggesting getting a tax accountant. If you aren't comfortable with a tax accountant, you can get a tax lawyer who are specialized in crypto currencies. Trying to cut down taxes on your own might be a bad idea. You may end up under reporting your tax and you will have to pay hefty fines, which wouldn't be worth at all. Remember, in some countries laws varies a lot from state to state. In some cases federal laws might conflict with state laws.
Even if you do it on your own, make sure you do proper research and keep hold of all supporting documents. Remember, you can never escape taxes.
2396  Economy / Speculation / Re: to sell or buy BTC? on: January 20, 2021, 07:27:05 AM
what should we do if we have some bitcoin at this time, regarding the increase in bitcoin prices that we see today, of course the value is very high compared to the increase in the past years, so do we have to sell some bitcoins at the current price, or even we add value to the amount of BTC that we have today by buying it at the current price for us to store for quite a long time ,?
What are the suggestions & opinions of all of your friends who are here?
This depends totally on you. Every people have different set of goals based on their financial aspects. So looking at different peoples opinion won't help you in your case.
If you think the price is high and you have made enough profit then sell it. If you think you can afford to "lose your investment" and willing to make more profit, then either keep holding the coins or invest more to maximize your profit. In the end, the decision is yours depending on your financial aspects.
2397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long will this scam go on? on: January 20, 2021, 07:16:59 AM
It is never going to stop. Scam exists for centuries. No one can stop scams. If one gets taken down, a new one will pop. And the crypto space is decentralized, so it is almost impossible to stop them. What we can do is avoid them and point them out so that others can stay safe from them. Every time someone invests on those projects, they encourage the scammers to scam more.
how best can I get to know more viable  projects like the ones I already have? When will the proliferation of shitcoins in crypto space stop? Who will check mate the proliferation of shitcoins?
Use the forum to know more about the projects. If you see there isn't any discussion or active community for those projects, best to avoid them. No one can "check mate" the proliferation of shitcoins.
2398  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Cryptocurrencies Really Money? on: January 19, 2021, 08:08:58 PM
-snip-
1.   Are central banks digital currency really money? The poll result was Yes (33.8%) and no (66.2%)
2.   Are crypto currencies really money? The poll result was; Yes (79.9%) and no (20.1%)
What is your opinion about these polls?

Can you provide us a link to the poll? You sure the poll was created by International Monetary Funds? Or was it created by a "crypto" related page or a crypto enthusiast user? If that is the case, the poll result maybe highly be biased. If that isn't the case, then this is really weirdly impressive that to see regular people are "against" bank. I wonder why many people think digital currencies issued by bank isn't real money. But then again, the poll results might be inaccurate. So we can't get our "hopes" up thinking that people are now realizing what is wrong with currencies issued by central authority.
2399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: January 19, 2021, 07:52:01 PM
Crypto is ruled soon by sec and goverment its not good
What else do you expect? The government to allow us to use crypto currencies without any restriction? Of course they can't let you when fiat currencies will be involved. You can use crypto currencies without involving yourself with fiat (like p2p transaction, NOT converting it to fiat and so on) and the government will eventually trace you. They just can't let people use if with full freedom because of the risks involved.
Make your cash and get out of crypto
Pepple dont like regulated things fuck rules and regulations crypto is freedom if the goverment start fuck woth our bitcoins and crypto then its not good
Stop spreading FUDs. I guess majority of the people won't care about the regulation. Again, regulation is needed if we want to make crypto currencies mainstream. You don't like it, I guess you can use those "anonymous" coins.
We stay for using cash
So fuck bitcoin because government is taking control of it and you don't like it. But then use cash/fiat which is under the total control of the fiat. Okay, what?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
2400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which is best for bitcoin wallet? on: January 19, 2021, 04:48:26 PM
There are multiple types of wallet and you should choose once that suits your needs the most. Whenever you use a wallet, make sure you (and only "YOU) have access to the private keys. Remember, if you don't have the keys to your wallet, the coins aren't yours! Try to avoid online wallets and don't make a mistake using exchanges as a wallet to store coins.
You should visit this thread and have a read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0
Make sure you go through the discussion as you will get better understanding of how different kind of wallets work and which ones your should "definitely" avoid!
