2381  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia gives France puppy to replace killed police dog on: November 22, 2015, 01:34:14 PM
...Russia has offered to send an Alsatian puppy to France in a gesture of solidarity after a police dog was killed during a raid...

Read it yesterday too. Still didn't understand what the Russians meant by this, they could send a mature dog, why did they offers a puppy?

Edit: thanks bryant.coleman for your answer  Smiley
2382  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Questions about Lending, Accounts as Collateral/valuation, and Escrow on: November 22, 2015, 01:14:32 PM
The borrower chooses the escrow to place his account with correct? How do I know to trust the escrow they picked?

The borrower has to trust the lender else he has to deal with an escrow. Don't forget that the escrow requires fees so generally it is the lender who choose one but the borrower could precise that he will not accept a non trusted one.
You can find here a list of trusted escrow : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0
2383  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Questions about Lending, Accounts as Collateral/valuation, and Escrow on: November 22, 2015, 01:57:53 AM
So say you want to take out a loan and put your account up for collateral (not a noob account).
you need a full member and above in order to the loan to be accepted in most of cases. Barely no one will accept a member/jr accounts since it doesn't require much time to get one..

Then there is the message signing aspect. How is one supposed to provide proof they own the account by signing an old address if they don't want everyone to know that the account in question is on the market? Between only the borrower with the account and escrow then correct?
since you are using a trusted escrow this shouldn't be a problem to reveal the signed message to him (escrow) tho.

You don't want the whole world knowing that the account is no longer controlled by the original creator do you? Or does it not even matter? (except for scammers trying to use the account's trust to rip someone off, I am not a scammer so this doesn't really pertain to me other than value)
ending with a negative trust containing: "default loan" is bad but with an escrow this also shouldn't be a problem since he is the only one to know the account name. otherwise without an escrow, if you didn't pay the loan then the other part will anonymously sell the account, the problem will rise if you publicly declared that this is your account and it is stolen/sold and in this case the other part just need to prove the opposite by sending the signed message to the admins.

2384  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: QuickSellers new Alt / Alias: mexxer-2 .. Proof inside on: November 21, 2015, 06:29:28 PM
Meh, too long sentences and I don't see any proof..
I am not an old bitcointalker but didn't notice anything relating quickseller to mexxer.
Mexxer has an alt account? What is the problem if he had 100? It is not prohibited nor will be tho.
Mexxer trying to build trust? Good luck then, he did a nice work to the forums lately besides helping members...

You have the right OP to think that someone is an alt of another one but please we would see solid evidences.
2385  Economy / Economics / Re: What's your guess on the price of bitcoin for Jan 2016 and July 2016? on: November 21, 2015, 03:46:36 PM
I think the price in January 2016 will be around 375-400$ but after the halving ~July 2016 it will start increasing slightly around 500-600$ maybe November 2016 we will get close to 1k$.
2386  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if we sit at $310-$340 for 2 more years? on: November 21, 2015, 02:25:06 PM
Nope will not happens, maybe bitcoin price could stuck between 310-340$ for the next few days/weeks but not for 2 years.
In my opinion we will see a change (up or down) in the middle of December
2387  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase new limits: 25 free transactions per day ! on: November 21, 2015, 12:32:23 PM
Well, maybe they should send an email to inform us but anyway this action will not affect every bitcoiner tho. 25 free transactions per day is still good thing imo.
Unfortunately for some users coinbase has limited one of its advantages, they only have to fit with it or move to Xapo which still offers free unlimited transactions..
2388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shift - Bitcoin Visa Card - now available in the US on: November 20, 2015, 07:59:14 PM
I read cash limit was $750 at ATM plus $750 more at POS with $10,000 single day purchases limit.  Quite generous if you ask me.  I don't spend more than $10,000 most days.

Well i found this on the FAQ:

Currently, the daily limit is $1,000 USD. Feel free to contact support@shiftpayments.com if you would like to increase your daily spending limit.
If you're spending from your Dwolla account, there is a daily ATM withdrawal limit of $500.
If you're spending from your Coinbase account, there is a daily ATM withdrawal limit of $200.
2389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shift - Bitcoin Visa Card - now available in the US on: November 20, 2015, 07:50:42 PM
Saw this in a similar topic in the press section : COINBASE JUST DEBUTED THE FIRST BITCOIN DEBIT CARD IN THE US https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1256350.0

Well good news for sure but it is still limited to few states + limited daily usage (200$ ATM):
Quote
At this time, only residents of the United States may apply for a Shift Card.
In order to spend bitcoin via Coinbase, cardholders must reside in one of the following U.S. states:
AL, AZ, CA, DE, DC, GA, ID, IA, KS, ME, MS, NE, NV, NJ, NC, ND, OK, PA, PR, SD, TX, VT, WA, WV
Shift Card activations for California residents are limited.

No annual fees is a good point.

2391  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Todays worth of bitcointalk accounts on: November 20, 2015, 05:13:21 PM
And it will be more valuable if someday bitcointalk will only allow registration via invites.

This will not stop selling accounts and many users will start selling their invites but I agree that will make things more valuable. (personally don't support this idea)

Forget to mention that the cost of negative trust accounts under hero shouldn't be more than 0.01 / hero+legendary 0.015?  (dunno what's the point of buying it anyway)
2392  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Todays worth of bitcointalk accounts on: November 20, 2015, 03:28:31 PM
How can we know that account ever got banned before ?

Don't think this information is available. You have to trust the seller (or ask an admin/mod Tongue, you will never get an answer tho)
2393  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falling under 300 again on: November 20, 2015, 03:25:17 PM
We will be dropping under 300 within the next 12 hours.

Bitcoin remain safe for this day tho - saw it dropped to 310$ which is the lowest price in this week but now it is around ~323$.
Don't think the price will drop under 300$ soon and even if it will happens it will be for a short period imo.
2394  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Todays worth of bitcointalk accounts on: November 20, 2015, 03:01:25 PM
It depends from the quality of posts / activities / positive trust... But here is my estimation

-Jr member ~0.005 BTC

-Member 60-84 activities: 0.01
-Member 98-112: 0.02-0.03

-Full Member 126-182: 0.06-0.08
-Full Member 196-238: 0.09-0.12

-Sr Member from 0.15 to 0.25

-Hero Member 0.3-0.5

-Legendary >>0.5
2395  Other / Meta / Re: Public list of yobit spammers(this one's gonna be long boys) on: November 19, 2015, 07:41:31 PM
are these people even getting banned or are we reporting them for nothing?

You are free to report them or not but don't expect the admins to real-time ban them. Some of the spammers get banned others remain ''temporary safe'' but on the watch-list.

Wouldn't consider him as a spammer, from March until now he made 19 posts. If you said he isn't helping/adding something to the discussions/community (since he made most of the posts during that period in 1 topic: 777 one) i could agree..
2396  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to start or participate in a "Signature Campaign" ? on: November 19, 2015, 06:20:11 PM
w8 for a month and then you can join you will be jr. member and then find some sig camp that accept jr. members recommendation is YoBit.net ans Secondstrade

Actually he doesn't need to wait a month, his potential activity is 70 so he could be a member after making a total of 60 posts.
I recommend to reach the member rank and join a signature compaign except of yobit which you can join it now then just update your signature.
My second advice: avoid spamming.
Good luck.
2397  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Trying to trick a signature campaign on: November 19, 2015, 04:06:07 PM
Maybe he was not sure how to set a signature the right way?
Maybe but don't forget he is a full member so either he bought the account else it is shameful for him (+ => looking to his post quality - barely 1 line posts)  Undecided
2398  Economy / Lending / Re: Someone could lend me 0.345 BTC for just 1 Hour? on: November 19, 2015, 02:37:01 PM
Yes, i beginning for a loan. I follow BTC talk since may 2015
The only thing that you will receive here is a second negative trust from a default trust member.
Read the sticky threads before asking for loans next time.

To simplify things: no one here will give you a single satoshi if you didn't offer a valid collateral especially if you are not a high trusted member.
Read here:

What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

- The best collateral is another crypto-currency, such as Litecoin (also written as LTC).  Coins must be moderately traded on multiple exchanges.
- Some digital wares such as domain names can be considered as long as the user cannot recover it.
- Small valuable items that can be shipped though the mail - i.e. gold, silver, iphones, etc.
- Large items, such as a motorcycle or guitar can be used if you live close to the person giving you the loan.  Try localbitcoins.com
...
I recommend to continue reading this sticky thread...
