If US would attack, UK and some other western countries would back them, so by US it should be US+EU attack Russia, basically WW3 is on.
2382  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: June 08, 2015, 12:18:37 PM
The ranks/activity will almost certainly stay the same.

Will everyones rank start all over in the new forum?
2383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree to raise the block size limit to 20 megabytes or not? on: June 08, 2015, 12:14:59 PM
China cares more about mining and trading just to make money so they don't like bigger block size even if it would make bitcoin to reach mainstream, thats what i've gathered from them.

That's stupid, because bigger blocks = more transaction fees = more money for them.

Chinese mega farm are pretty cheap and they probably don't want to pay for proper connection since that would hurt their earnings and the farms are located in areas where a good internet connections are gonna cost them, they are just greedy, not to mention the exchanges lack credibility from what we have seen so i don't think they have much to say what happens to the btc core.

2385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Altcoins be considered as Digital Currencies ? on: June 08, 2015, 10:38:38 AM
Altcoins have matured beyond bitcoin protocols, forks, and clones. The term Altcoin I feel discreditscurrent currencies like NXT, Cryptonote Tech., NEM, etc.
New currencies and 2.0 platforms no longer use the traditional 'x'coin naming scheme and no longer share bitcoin code. Should the diversity and emerging Altcoin technologies be considered more than an "Altcoin?"

Actually i feel the same way, i don't like the term altcoin, like it's just an altcoin anyway so no way its better than bitcoin. A coin that is the same as bitcoin should be called altcoin but those who are different and have innovative features shouldn't be called altcoin imo.

2389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ]| SOCIAL MESSAGING APP THAT PAYS | iPhone Beta is Live | on: June 06, 2015, 09:32:09 AM
Here is my opinion

Wallet, i think it's good to have both Cryptos on the same window, it makes things more simpler and gives the app less pages, especially when advertisement model, instant swap option, additional referrals/features get added you probably will have more pages. For example if you want to see bitcoins transactions history with the current design you would have to select wallet, swipe right and select bitcoin, with the new design you select wallet and select bitcoin making it no need to swipe which makes reaching the options quicker.

You can discuss about the blue but i think thats not really mandatory it can always be changed since we have to move on to the referral mechanisms and other important features which i hope will soon be available, especially the additional referrals mechanism because i want to make a Thread at http://www.reddit.com/r/beermoney/ about it Smiley.

But would i be able to see a list of past transactions, for both GEMS and BTC but separately.

Also, is this for both Android and iOS smartphones?

When you select on one of the cards (Gems or BTC) in the first picture of your post it will bring you to a more detailed window with transactions history shown in the second picture, so yes you will be able to see past transactions for both Cryptos. I'm not sure if it's also for iOS, it was submitted by the Android dev.

The wallet above will contain cards, one for GEMS and one for BTC as you see in example numbers 2/3/4/5. You can see a "summary" in the wallet screen, when you select a card a new screen will open with more detailed info which will look like the first picture.

@ Daniel, do you think it's possible to add a feature like Shapeshift into GetGems where users can swap Gems to Bitcoin and Bitcoin to Gems? Maybe in cooperation with shapeshift themselves? I think this would be a powerful feature. You can swap Bitcoin to Gems for buying ads and Gems to Bitcoin for other needs.

I think this would be a useful feature would like to know aswell about the possibilities.

Surely just knowing the shape shift site exists for now? I mean a simple link to the shape shift page would in theory make everything user friendly. It would be good to include it in the app (though might clutter it) but that seems like a feature for further down the line once we get other things in place?

I don't understand coding, but does this show shape shift is open source? Their whole website seems to suggest they want others to integrate their system on your wallet/site etc.

https://shapeshift.io/api.html#shift-conduit
https://shapeshift.io/affiliate.html

"The ShapeShift API gives developers a multitude of ways to integrate our instant altcoin exchange services into wallets, websites and much more. For those developers looking for an partner/commission opportunity, Shapeshift now offers our affiliate program. Below, you may sign-up for affiliate order-tracking keys so that ShapeShift can track volume associated with your API calls."

It seems possible, i think this feature combined into a mobile app like GetGems will be pretty handy. I'm not coder aswell but would be nice if the team looks into it. Also i noticed Erik voorhees is Shapeshifts CEO, he joined one of the GetGems groups a while ago in the app.

It doesn't necessarily have to be Shapeshift but such platform is an example of what i mean buy easy coin conversion instead of people doing the hassle of making accounts on exchanges on different websites. I think this idea would attract many people inside the Crypto place aswell since majority of them just wants Bitcoin as an exit which GetGems would provide in a easy way in a simple app, this would mean that these people would need to use GetGems more often and be pretty active to earn Gems through rewards which is in it's favour of GetGems and of course there are others that would swap Bitcoin to Gems to advertise and other useful stuff.

Agreed, adding this feature using Shapeshift is something we are looking into.

I recently downloaded the app. I logged on to make this exact suggestion regarding shapeshift. Also, there will be a lot of btc sent to gemz addys and gemz sent to btc addys...what can be done to prevent this or recover the coins?

It would be nice to be able to check your transactions....maybe drag up from bottom of wallet screen.

Not sure what you mean by this? Regarding checking transactions i know from the new screenshots that it is in the works.

2395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GetGems gets a powerful endorsement from one of the biggest banks in the world. on: June 04, 2015, 08:37:52 AM
GetGems was just voted most visionary mobile banking app by Citi Bank during a global competition.

Not at all surprised. Smiley

I hope this give a positive outcome, it would give the brand such a boost it deserves once its pretty much out of beta and make the price skyrocket.

Quote
In a conversation with Daniel Peled, CEO of GetGems, CoinTelegraph asked about Peled’s reaction to the charges, the potential relationship between GetGems and Citi, and how the two companies may work together in the future.

CoinTelegraph: What does a “commercial relationship” with Citi mean for GetGems?

Daniel Peled: It’s early to say, but they are very excited with what we are doing and the technology we are using. We have a follow-up call early next week, and Citi has a group in Israel that leads the collaboration. The biggest problem with financial services is compliance.

When people’s money is involved, regulation moves to the top of the agenda. Basically, banking disruption requires resources. You need a lot of capital to deploy and meet regulation. Citi can potentially offer a big support.
2396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin community has the most active developers? on: June 04, 2015, 08:13:01 AM
GetGems, very active and involved with the community, has its beta testers groups for bugs with frequent code updates, social media activity is nice as well. CEO is also active outside the Crypto space promoting the brand, example.

Download GetGems Messenger, its a Messenger with a Bitcoin wallet and rewards users for participating in its network with its in build token which you can convert to Bitcoin. You get rewarded for inviting people to the network and soon you will get rewarded for activity eg just using the app like messaging, making transactions etc. it also will reward you for the amount of Gems you are holding in your account. At a later stage you will also get rewarded when you receive ads. They will implement a feature like Shapeshift where you can instantly swap Gems to Bitcoins and Bitcoins to Gems within the app, so thats handy, but for now you will only get rewarded for inviting friends through your referral link shown in settings. This is how i got free Bitcoins/Bits if you will.

Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.getgemsmessenger.app&hl=en

There is also a new game called Game of Birds where you can collect in-game Bitcoins that are spread through out the levels. I believe you have to have a Coinbase account and your e-mail is required.

2399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners from 2012: What are you doing now? on: June 01, 2015, 11:01:51 AM
i'm not from 2012, but i think i'm gonna sink with this ship, i can't sell at this ridiculous price ever

The price is not ridiculous at all, yes it went all up to 1000+ but that was artificial. If that didn't happen bitcoin would sit around these levels with plenty of room to go down. I believe bitcoin will test the 160 again and even go lower than that. especially once the fork happens with people having the possibility to sell twice to double, so a big chance the price to just halve instead and some other who wouldn't know to which chain to go and rather stay in fiat to see which one fades away would there be miners in both chains.
2400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners from 2012: What are you doing now? on: June 01, 2015, 10:50:27 AM
I'm still holding, even though the price just keeps going down. I believe in bitcoin -- I'm heavily against modern monetary theory.

So you are holding since 2012? Sorry but that's just greed, it went all up to 1200 my friend, thats like around 100k%.
