The 1.7 wallet uses 27% CPU usage not minting or syncing, my other wallets use about 8% CPU usage. The cpu usage for the mint wallet seems high.

Thanks for the reply, I used another wallet on my gaming rig and used the same wallet.dat file from my laptop and it works fine, PoS mines. Seem to be problem with my laptop and the HBN wallets? All my other wallets work fine on my laptop, Mint, TES, GRW to name a few. I am going to try copying the app/data folder from my gaming rig over to my laptop and see if that works. Thanks for all the help Tranz.  Update: I transferred all app/data to my laptop and the wallet still hangs a bunch. When it is not responding the task manger say 37% CPU usage and 308MB RAM usage. Wallet works fine on my gaming rig but not on my laptop. Yes that sounds like the issue I spoke of. You gaming rig has a much better CPU so the issue is not as prevalent. But it would show itself again after a while. In any event, this will soon no longer be an issue. On my gaming rig it reads 0% CPU usage and 315MB of memory usage, so I think it is a memory issue. My Mint wallet uses 26% CPU, 134MB memory and GRW wallet uses 7% CPU, 178MB memory. I loaded my DGC wallet and it was around 248MB memory usage. |

It wont even run when it is the only wallet loaded. |

Hey Tranz, if I use the line reservebalance=9999 and load my wallet with my existing wallet.dat file the wallet loads fine but says no staking because I don't have mature coins and the wallet does not freeze since the coins are not producing PoS. If I remove reservebalance=9999, load my wallet is when all hell breaks and the wallet stops responding.
Would it help if I used reservebalance=9999 and load my wallet then sent my 6753 HBN to another fresh wallet with new receive address.

I tried syncing my wallet. no luck even with added nodes, using the v1.1 wallet. My 6715 HBN also just surpassed my 23k DGC in the value.  |

The wallet still producing PoS, I just mined 17 HBN a min ago. Update: I took out my wallet.dat file and it is syncing like it is supposed to, is my wallet.dat corrupted?  Update: Yay! seems fine now after I synced the wallet and then added my wallet.dat file. The only problem now is the wallet will always go non responsive and freeze if I try to click on an option. This happens with the 1.3.0 and the 1.3.6.0 wallets and only when I have my wallet.dat in my appdata folder. I understand now.. You are producing many PoS blocks and it is causing the GUI to become un-responsive. Yes I have this fixed in 1.3.7+ but i haven't released it yet. For now you can type reservebalance=9999 in your console or when you start up. The 9999 should be 1/2 to 3/4 your coins. The coins in reserve won't stake, but as some stake you can lower the reservebalance. I am working on a few other fixes here before I release it. including the assert failures and the 22 wallet issues. Thanks for your patients. Thanks for maintaining HBN. |

I will try that if it does not sync, it is but slow as a snail. Oh! my wallet.dat file was never encrypted.
I just sync'd a few computers last night. The longest took me about 12 hours. What is your log file saying? 1.3.0.0 will need addnodes manually. But should sync after you get connections. I am using these nodes: addnode=174.103.158.220:62683 addnode=68.109.79.96:61187 addnode=65.24.235.56:33299 addnode=144.76.9.247:2304 addnode=75.152.1.226:62062 addnode=108.83.227.44:51053 addnode=85.140.75.107:58473 addnode=94.41.176.140:65508 addnode=75.138.235.246:7372 addnode=5.249.152.30 addnode=54.201.183.106 addnode=178.33.105.250 addnode=123.176.103.130 The wallet seems to sync a block every 10-15 min, so far I am on block 2508. |

1.3.6.0 and now I am trying 1.3.0 and it loaded, syncing slowly and then the wallet will hang.

My wallet is still trying to sync, it stuck on block 1829 and it is locking up? I never had so much trouble with a HBN wallet until last week. |

I wonder if starting the client using -salvagewallet might work? I am running out of ideas real fast. Sorry. Try repairwallet in the console Regarding my wallet it has been trying to sync for over 24 hours.  I am using the 1.3.6.0 beta version, are they any extra nodes besides the ones below? 5.249.152.30 54.201.183.106 178.33.105.250 123.176.103.130 Repair wallet is actually in the menu now. Have you seen those upcoming scrypt asic machines? Good thing mintcoin is pure PoS now, many coins will be mined into oblivion and then dumped until their 1 sat but mintcoin will not be affected at least not in a negative way. Looking it this way, scrypt asics are actually beneficial for mintcoin.
I predict many alt coins will be forked to new algorithms to combat the new scrypt ASIC devices. Probably but that does require a lot of work, as I understand all users, pools and exchanges would have to update their wallets and deamons. Is there no possiblity asics can adapt to still keep mining coins on new algos? The scrypt ASIC makers would have to develop a new type of chip to beable to hash the newer algorithm. Unless they develope sockets for the specific chip to be interchangable even if that is possible? Maybe the focus will turn back to FPGA devices since they are able to be programmed? |
