241  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto debit card for FIAT payments - would you use one? on: December 14, 2018, 12:53:24 PM
1. You own some crypto funds on your account on an exchange (crypto/FIAT markets) that has partnered with a debit card provider. You'd have to identify yourself (pass KYC).
I think the KYC requirement is a given if you want your card to even be connected to mastercard, this payment service company won't even allow you hooking up unknown parties to use their services.

Of course my main concern is why would a not so popular exchange do this? Questions and suspicions will always arise on these kinds of unique features especially on a not so trusted crypto exchanges. Questions like are they really doing this for our convenience or they really just want our personal information badly and using this KYC requirement to obtain it?  This is really not a question of  anyone wanting it because I know a lot of people do but it should be a question about do we trust this exchange offering this feature in the first place?

Most of the countries nowadays require that KYC. Even in my country in SouthEast Asia, they require that in an online Bitcoin Wallet they offer.

Even a blockchain project in Singapore which offers the debit card fiat services require it.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Codex Protocol - Decentralized Registry for Art & Collectibles on: December 14, 2018, 03:36:40 AM
Codex = decentralized registry of unique arts and assets?

I get your point but how are you supposed to monitor if those registered in your project are still alive after some years? Most of the unique art and assets are smuggled and bought by some rich guy from somewhere. Or it might be destroyed in some house fire or someone stole it and kept it themselves. So how?
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is the FINAL on: December 14, 2018, 03:31:55 AM
Every month or so, new altcoins get listed to crypto exchanges

But I do not see their "intention" of getting listed in this situation of the market.

What is the point? They are becoming more and more worthless, even up to 0.0007$ or so?

If i overview the technological aspects, most of them are data platforms, service platforms, or reverse-ICOs.

I mean, is Blockchain technology even going to develop further so that it can be commercialized and standardized?
Its true looks like everyday we have new ico new ANN thread new worthless coin/token, Some are just creating ICO and collecting money with no real use case and scammed so many people so we need to be careful on what altcoins are we going to invest. I think SEC will step in and will eliminate worthless ico's.

More like these current ICOs don't like what market has to offer. Honestly, most of them just want some money to earn and then either run with it and wait for the bull run and some of them just don't want to disappoint most of their investors after the ICO ends and just go refund what they have collected. And the latter is better than what the former does.

They should just stop creating these ICO/selfdrops imo. Its currently worthless for the 90% of the community and a big opportunity for the whales.
244  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Crypto Started by Western Elites? on: December 12, 2018, 11:04:12 AM
Please discuss!

I do not have direct evidence either way, but I have come to the conclusion that, if Bitcoin did not exist, the Western elites would have liked to create it in secret.  My indirect evidence includes:

- Bitcoin has not been killed by a combination of regulation, market manipulation, and propaganda after 10 years.  As turbulent as the price has been, Bitcoin has been an excellent long-term bet.  Whatever assault it has suffered, it always seems to survive.

- Bitcoin has taken demand away from gold and silver, which traditionally are the big threats against central bank money.

- If central banks secretly own lots of Bitcoin (we still don't know who really owns "Satoshi's bitcoins!") they will have the best of both the gold-standard and fiat worlds in the future.  (I will explain this when I have time.)
I quite support your view due to my own observations, although stand to be corrected. It is a fact that anything not invented, or liked or supported by the likes of US, Great Britain and France, they all go out to either ridicule or destroy it. This has not happened to Bitcoin despite its ten years of existence.
I'm afraid you're right because this are what happening over the decade but if we look the battle which bitcoin have fought and overcome and how Satoshi mail archive look like we can still the Western Elite might be the the started of crypto currency.

If his assumptions are assumed to be right, I would give these three answers as well.

- It has not been killed by regulation? Look at ETF. Market manipulation? Oh, just look at how whales these thousands of bitcoin like it was nothing in the last 10 years. If bitcoin is a long term bet, why not bet in stocks where you can actually see your money flow in and out right? It will be the same anyway, since it involves money.

- If central banks secretly own lots of bitcoin, they won't ban it and make sure people are going to use it. Number 1 Reason? Money again. Bitcoin works like stocks but is different in terms of decentralization.

- If western people started crypto, why was the whitepaper creator sounded so Japanese? And come to think of it, the person himself is Japanese, they claimed it according to wikipedia.
245  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Earn money with your skill while having fun on: December 12, 2018, 07:11:03 AM
So, you give us only these hints... Earn money, skills game, and have fun... Really? That doesn't tell us anything about the project.

Any skill-based game that involves real-money bets will be abused. Unless you can effectively keep out bots from plundering your human users, I dont see it going anywhere.

Yep, that's why we can't find any betting site who offer chess. In computer science there are no good skills, there are good coders, if you want to make a darts game, a coder can make the dart always hit in the middle,  and same with chess, you can open a chess game and play in the hardest way, just do the moves your enemy is doing in the betting site and then we will see all users playing like pros.

Not sure if I understand you.

The game would be between 2 real persons, and the bets would be places by both players, let's say you start a match, you place a $10 bet and your opponent place a $10 bet, if you win you would take $20, if you loose you lose $10. So it's not a casino, nor a gambling site, it's a skill based game where you play with real people.

"just do the moves your enemy is doing in the betting site and then we will see all users playing like pros."

I dont think that this will work in chess nor checkers, at some point in the match that will not be possible anymore.

And the bot thing, that's a potential problem and i'm already addressing it.

Thanks for your feedback.

PD: I'm actually already giving a lot of hints about the project. I guess this project is a lot different so yes, and not giving hints don't help.

So does it resemble some kind of a game we have right now? Or is the rules kind of similar to some kind of betting games other sites have right now? And yes I really think its kind of vague especially with the word fun. We all differ in our appreciation of what is fun and what is not. Anyways, keep up the good work.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chinese government could've created Bitcoin on: December 12, 2018, 05:13:20 AM
This is impossible. I can be sure that the idea of Bitcoin is contrary to the Chinese government. They are not stupid enough to create something and then ban it. In addition, China's cashless payment is the world's leading, they have advanced cashless payment media such as Alipay, WeChat, etc, there is no need to develop bitcoin.

> They are not stupid enough to create something and then ban it.

I doubt there is something they found stupid in something they created. Most of them will probably be proud of it though. Anyways, it is clearly unknown who satoshi is and we all know that he may sound japanese and all and they claimed he/they really are. There is just this big uncertainty as to who he really is.
247  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Twiiter Suspending Accounts on: December 11, 2018, 02:57:03 PM

Yes.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto donations on: December 11, 2018, 05:30:54 AM
The thing is no one will bat an eye about the fact that it was transferred to that fee. It was the amount of BTC he had to transfer.

Surely it's for the benefit of mankind right?
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Buy the dip" is only a strategy for losers on: December 10, 2018, 02:02:47 AM
although it's a strategy for losers, but if it brings profits it doesn't matter. Good investors do not prioritize strategies for anyone, as long as they give profit use the strategy. I also if trading uses a different strategy, which is important profit.

But it has to really go up for it to be considered a strategy that will give you profits instead of losses, hence he calls it losers. Plus all those 'believers' always say this like they are some kind of god in predicting the current bitcoin and altcoins prices, even when they clearly don't know what's up.
250  Economy / Economics / Re: How can blockchain shake up the accounting industry? on: December 09, 2018, 11:42:33 AM
Accounting is one of the high-in-demand jobs in business. It is also one of the industries that is expected to change the most as the result of blockchain adoption. What can blockchain do for accounting?

When talking about the issues that the blockchain technology can address, experts seem to be unanimous that the new technology can dramatically reduce accounting costs as well as making the industry more transparent. Dr. Michael Yuan, a long-time technologist and the chief scientist at CyberMiles, mentions many transformative ways to use the blockchain technology in the finance industry: from managing customer identity and data privately and safely, to storing important financial records in a decentralized network, to supporting a large library of smart contracts.

https://ihodl.com/analytics/2018-11-10/accounting-revolution-can-blockchain-shake-industry

I have a degree on this and I can certainly sure that it is one of the best ideas to have this especially in accounting in government agencies. An open ledger, anyone has power to use, and continue to use plus its decentralization and transparency in its transactions which clearly is being oppressed in most third world countries right now. But, it will be a lot hassle because we all know the effects of it is number 1 is that many people will lose their job.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Last block... 22 minutes ago... ? on: December 08, 2018, 04:01:31 PM
Not totally new in crypto but less informed in mining. I believe this is pretty common but it will pretty be more common for now because we all know how many miners quit mining after the fall in the current price of Bitcoin and the whole market. Even in China, most of the mining companies will cease to operate. https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/small-and-medium-sized-crypto-mining-companies-in-china-could-soon-stop-operating/
252  Local / Pamilihan / Re: bountyhunters.io scam? on: December 08, 2018, 11:31:50 AM

Ano daw? Do you have any additional information to support your allegation?

I could say na "Illegal" yung ginagawa nila at never ever post your private key/nmemonic phrase, I don't think I could use their platform anymore, ang update nila ay nakakag*g*

So based sa comments, totoo nga yung rumor? One red flag yan.

Meron ako but I think never na ko mag open.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: ETF rejected on: December 08, 2018, 11:10:14 AM
EETF will be decided on 29th December this year (before the year ends) and most probably markets will not react to it until 2nd of january, maybe even later. Hence there is no rush to get bitcoin accepted right now, ETF can wait, we have much bigger problems at hand right now than focusing on ETF.

We need to figure out how to rebalance bitcoin when people make money shorting bitcoin. There are people who can bet 10 thousand bitcoins on bitmex to short bitcoin and say it will go down and at the same time sell 10 thousand bitcoins all together to drop the price everywhere and make the double amount of profit. If we can't find a way to fix that issue and somehow make profiting by increasing the price more appealing, this price crisis we had in 2018 will follow us to 2019 as well.
I thought its supposed to be on February. So the rumors that it will be 2019 before some kind of rushing up the market to buy these dumps are big right now. That we have to believe the upcoming ETF announcements are going to give it a big kick  Huh Huh Huh
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Poseidon - Empowering people to save the planet with every purchase on: December 07, 2018, 03:39:27 PM
So another climate tackling kind of ICO.

How will you describe your project Poseidon in two sentences that will convince investors to use your platform and not any other climate tackling project currently in the market?

oh there's an AMA. Might as well as this question there.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BULL RUN! BULL RUN! BULL RUN! on: December 07, 2018, 05:20:40 AM
So it happens that every where in the crypto universe every single person is expecting a bull run Q4 of every year as if it's a norm now.

Well for me am happy the bull run isn't happening this year so that many can cool off and know this is not a yearly get rich quick business and people have to understand what investment are and invest wisely

I like the fact that the bull run shouldn't be on any specific date, day, or month and can happen randomly at any time to stop the impression of manipulation in crypto.

For me am happy crypto is responding to the market movement in connection with every other stock market.

What is your own thoughts?

I agree in some points. The manipulation part is impossible to remove in this kind of market that even in a regulated market it's happening until now. Adding the insider trading that can have legal angles that companies and big time investors can work around.
That's why SEC will be so difficult to approve bitcoin ETF because the market has a lot of parties that are still doing the manipulation. Remember that makes the market being unhealthy and then SEC was giving another delay to the bitcoin ETF again.

If they delay it again, they are a part of manipulation already. Many people are waiting for that ETF right now, assuming this ETF will affect the Bitcoin's price and the flow of other altcoins. Let's just see how this delaying will affect more of the flow in the current market.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: America is at it again.... on: December 07, 2018, 04:03:32 AM
First, we get BS KYC which is actually more dangerous then it is safe and if you willing to risk the safety of you and your loved ones to some random who will sell your info good for you. KYC is just an exploit right now.
Here the government says not to give KYC to unknown entities and to be vigilant since there have btc scams here. When dealing with crypto the responsibility is on you. Basically they saying of you lose your money dont cry to them. It should be like that everywhere.

The next thing that happens from our delightful American friends is the wonder of the IRS % the incredible selfishness of American BTC holders. The main reason BTC is taking a beating is because the taxes needed to be in on the 4th Dec for the IRS. These idiots dumped their BTC instead of planning like an adult. They destroyed the value so much. What can't the take the fiat they earn working at their job and pay their capital gains with that.
These are the people wanting to make a quick buck that do not believe in btc and just use it as an investment to make more fiat. Utterly pathetic. This type of person must gtfo of the cryptro world and never ever return.
Go play with your fiat money some place. I really hope all these dumpers stay away from crtypto and don't come back. They not welcome. Bitcoin is for believers in crypto and the use of crypto.

BTW!!! Besides internet, electricity, food, fuel, I use btc to pay for everything else. TAX FREE GUYS WAKE UP!!! Pay with bitcoin = no tax. Only pay tax when you convert to fiat. Oh and I am from a third world country so I am not sure what excuses other people have for not spending their bitcoins....

Thoughts?

>  Pay with bitcoin = no tax. Only pay tax when you convert to fiat.

One good point. Why pay tax upon gains you didn't do anything with?  This just cracks me up. The downfall of 2018 is almost the downfall of new investors that came in and then came out. No matter what happens right after this, the credibility of crypto is tarnished, not because of scams but with these small people who kept dumping because of ideas like this.

Nice update. Just want to ask here if you are planning on listing on more known exchanges and DEX?

Panxora is CEX and requires KYC to have a live trading account. I just want to look at prices but this exchange just won't let me see it unless I do KYC.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In South Korea, cryptocurrencies will tax. on: December 06, 2018, 01:42:05 PM
I just hope it does go well for all the people there. We all know how these Koreans are into cryptocurrency right now, just look at how many exchanges are based on their country. How will they ever cope up with these kind of regulations when the very idea of cryptocurrency is decentralization?
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethos – The People-Powered Cryptocurrency Platform - Universal Wallet on: December 05, 2018, 11:59:53 PM
TrueUSD will be coming to the Ethos Universal Wallet in our next 1.6 Update. ethos is going to be huge in coming future
i think stable coin support is great choice for ethos universal wallet, without it its incomplete.
https://twitter.com/Ethos_io/status/1070374747882455040
this will attract more users and investors for sure
the support of partners is the best, yes every project wants the projects to grow rapidly, it could not be separated from the support of the community and is also a partner. they will work together to build a project to accomplish what they are targeting.
i am very happy to see that tweet stable coin support make this project more attractive because many trader needs usd wallet and trueUSD table coin and all other crypto coin in one wallet make it complete now we need ethos wallet only for all our funds managment.

260  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Isang Dahilan Bakit Bearish ang Market on: December 05, 2018, 02:17:32 PM
