241  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: August 06, 2014, 02:44:05 AM
Miningrigrentals.com

anyone renting your S3's here? I can't get mine to connect to their service and was hoping for some guidance. There are some available to rent on the site so I know it is possible.

nothing special to setup, just like any other pool.
to test it out, just redirect from MRR to BTCGUILD and you'll see if your ashing.
Check to see if you get an error connecting to a port ":5****", had that issue on Minera, may be similar here.

I will check a little later. (Not at the miners right now) What was the fix on Minera?

Thanks
Change the port from the standard 3333 to the new "5****".

Yeah 2000-2500W is quite a bit of current to pull off a 120V line. 240V isn't really that hard to come by if you know how to work a breaker box. I sometimes forget though, that regular people often don't have the same skill set that I grew up with.
That's what youtube is for.  Wink
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: August 06, 2014, 12:38:32 AM
After work I will check to see if all the other algo's still work.
Also will check to see if the change to groestl.cl is still needed.
If no problems are found I will do a pull request.

Seems myriadcoin algo is broken, kernel from not modded dev release works, but a little bit slower (around 1-2%).
UPD: x13 slower too.
ok new binary is up, get it from the mod link in my sig
Joining this party late badman, but my testing my hashes now.

What kind of hashrate are you getting on x11 with the two?

I have all 3 cards mining DRK coin right now at a total hashrate of ~19-20MH/s

It lists 6 GPU's (as each card has 2 inside) and they are reporting ~ 3.26MH/s each and i only have the intensity set to 16.

thanks!
These are BEASTLY!!! But unfortunately too rich for me, Best of luck!!!

What would be the best use of these cards right now for gpu mining, coin etc?

any idea?

Thanks!
On x11 I feel you should be getting a lot more out of them. I get 3.6MH out of my 7950's and about 4.5 out of my 290's (non-X) version. I would try the 14.6 drivers. What are you running, BAMT or windows?

But nicehash or waffle is where I am, in addition to MRR. If you need help setting some stuff up in the meantime, PM me.

Thanks for trying to rationalize your way through it instead of immediately jumping to "this guy who has been extremely forthcoming so far, is most likely stealing from everyone", and then putting it in caps, and then in colored bold fonts for everyone to see.  I appreciate it, and I'm glad you're happy with the service here.

only thing he's missing is a few Geocities style animated gifs

LOL yeah and he should post it on his myspace page also Wink

Poor guy (or gal) is a victim of a worldwide conspiracy:

And I could swear there was something about not being able to log on to dicebitco.in but I can't find that post anymore, deleted perhaps.

Talk about wanting everything yesterday! Damn! I wonder if he sent BTC the day the S3's got released and didn't get a confirmation for an hour and a half.

...Again i switched to waffepool but this time to another server eu.wafflepool.com:3331 by d=1.28 password and saw again hashrates down to 65-70Mh that is a little larger than 25% stealing hashrates .

by using d=1.28 you will have incredible variance swings
1.28!!! Shocked HAHAHA! That's way too high, even for 100MH, I wouldn't be above d=0.64 on my rigs.

Are you using four pci cables per Ant?

No, just two, but please note consuming watts from wall is going to 440W
My PSUs are 700W
Thanks, haven't heard many reports of people overclocking with two cables, wanted to make sure that it had been done. My B2 S3's aren't OC'ing well.
252  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: August 04, 2014, 02:20:59 PM
Hi Guys,

Just for the statistic. I have three S3 - batch 3. All of them works fine for now on 250Mhz. out of the box

253  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Respectable members of BTCtalk. Can u make use of a Mobo/Ram/Processor/HD combo? on: August 04, 2014, 12:06:28 AM
Wow, between the posts in this thread and the PM's received, the turn out was much higher then I ever anticipated :-P

I will make the decision tomorrow afternoon once I go through one last area in my house which might contain more accessories then I thought I had sitting around. Currently have two sets of the mobo/processor/ram then just the one initially, which I'll happily hand out as well. I also am starting to remember a possible Mobo/Processor (no ram) combo I hope to find tonight. So 2, possibily 3 people i'll be able to hook up. Everyone else I do apologize.

Check back around mid afternoon EST tomorrow fellas~!

Thank you! Will do!

Is cgminer working or just me having problem again?
Yeah, got an e-mail alert for one of my rigs, checked and saw all were down, had a mini panic attack.

PoolWaffle has been the most honest, upfront, transparent pool operator I have ever seen. This is one of the best (best in my opinion) pools out there. Before screaming scam, maybe ask for help or understand how pools estimate your hashrate based on submitted shares.
Thanks for reassuring me.  Smiley

After Minera is installed, and I change the IP address in the /etc/network/interfaces as normal to a static address, will Minera automatically adjust to the new address?

assuming you point your browser to the new ip.add.re.ss/minera then you'll be fine.. The system is not IP dependent
That's what I was thinking, but I was having some issues yesterday and still this morning. Just wanted to confirm.

First test hardware running in the new location on the temporary ISP. I was going to get pictures but I forgot to make sure the camera battery was not dead. Might finish the shelves tomorrow and start work on meter mounts for individual customer circuits. We should be able to start taking in hardware this week. I won't have VPN access set up until after the 11th though.
Very nice sidehack! How long did it take to generate that vanity address?

When i connect to waffle pool i lost 20% of my hashrate !
Is that mean the waffpool take 20% of hasrates for itself ?

You're lucky, it usually takes 25%.

NO, wafflepool takes nothing more than the 2% fee. Most of the times when hashrate is incorrectly displayed it's a problem on the user's end.

I have many graphs that show the pool eats many hasrates approximately 25% of total hashrates !

Now i uderstand why the pool is still alive !!!

Very Very scam .

Don't mine my friends . t

There is many multi pool here that are honest .

Hashrate as reported by pools is ALWAYS an estimate.  The pool doesn't know your real hashrate, it can only estimate it based on the shares you submit.

So, your hashrate as reported on a pool:
1. Is subject to variance (will drift up and down)
2. May be lower if you are getting hardware errors or encountering other issues.

Yes . graphs in the site are not correct !

Seriously??? WP has been one of the best Auto Switching pools around and I'm sure that there are few people hew who would disagree with me and agree that WP is stealing hashrate. So unless you have some legit proof, where there is no variance involved, no one really wants to hear it.
