This scaling and mining solution would not only partly change the way Ethereum is mined but also in theory would allow for faster transactions (and thus would create a better environment for smart contracts and DApps). In theory, Serenity could increase scalability by as much as 1000x (hopefully). |

try to un-register and register back again, now should pick up the right telegram handle, if you get somebody else notification that person should do the same

I received notifications in my thread in the Archival section and now a PM as well so both seem to be working unless Piggy turned them off a few minutes ago. I am still hoping the bot will continue to work using the thread system, the PMs are messy already.
i had it on temporarily for some testing but now everything is off, i'm just hitting some 503 (Service Temporarily Unavailable), from time to time but i don't know if it's just the line or some of the test i did. I'll try to run it again a bit later. Now there is notification interval property (which i will explain better later) that indicate the frequency at which you will receive PM with the notifications occurred in that amount of time (default time for everybody is 60 minutes). The binding with telegram for new registration should be back working as well. EDIT: Now is back on, still checking how it goes |

It seems there is some issue contacting the forum so you sill not be able to receive notifications at the moment, i may have triggering some protection, due to multiple http request.

Hi Piggy! The merit explorer ( https://albertoit.github.io/Merit-Explorer-SQL/) throws an "Uncaught Error: file is not a database" exception. Is there any planned downtime going on? Tried to access the tool for several days now, it keeps showing me the exception :-) I see, i had few problem on friday and tried to roll back but apparently something went wrong. I'll try to have a look tomorrow. |

So actually any of notifications are working?
I don't get any PM's, no new messages in the thread, and Telegram is empty too.

At the moment notifications in telegram for new sign up is not working as is not picking up the right id for some bug. Switch to pm didn't happen yet. |

I tried starting the bot in Telegram and I got it to work. Unfortunately, it sends me the wrong user mentions. I’m not sure if this happened to anyone but any suggestions?
That has been happening before, i thought was fixed but apparently there is still some problem  , i suggest to turn it off for the moment, till i have time to have a look. |

I was thinking it may be a good compromise to have the notifications through PM but with the possibility to decide an interval of time to receive the PM with the notifications (if there is any). I would rather move away from the thread solution.
But i will have to postpone to next week to have something like that.

I was just wondering if this change was "suggested" due to some forum considerations, or if you are at liberty to go ahead with the change, or even open-up the possibility to choosing the notification method (Telegram, Thread, PM). The current solution was causing some confusion and problems in the forum ( as previously stated ) and using pm was the next natural choice to substitute the thread notification, since it was possible to lift the limitations. With pm you have to do some extra work to delete them, but unfortunately there is not a better solution i could think of, without counting switching to telegram. |

I'm not sure if I'm going to like this change though, one of the problems with PM is that it doesn't show the latest unread, it opens the last page when I click it. If I receive 20 PMs per day from a bot, I can easily overlook real PMs. I'll see how it goes first  It can be is a little more unconvinient if you receive a lot of notification indeed, but this way it's a bit cleaner on the forum side. Let's see how is going after the change. Hey Piggy,
Just wanted to let you know I received a double notification in 2 occasions over the last few days. Don't know if you want/need more information or if this a known issue.
I think i found out the problem, i saw happening few times to me as well. I'll implement a fix for it tomorrow as well I would love to subscribe for the notifications, but I am a little confused now that there is going to be a new update.
Since, you are moving away from the thread system to PMs. Do new applicants still have to create a thread in the archival board before applying?
Till the change happen yes, you need to provide a thread, but since i'm doing the change tomorrow i just suggest to wait. |

Hi, There is going to be a change for what concern the notifications within the forum, we are moving from Thread to PM, since the PM limitations for Maggiordomo have been lifted. Using a thread for the notifications was also interfering/messing up the "show unread posts since last visit" as theymos told me. You don't have to do anything for this switch and you either receive your notifications through PM or Telegram ( as before ) Is probably going to happen sometime tomorrow. |
