I don't see any usecases for Viber coins. I personally use Viber, and don't understand how they want to apply crypto in Viber application globally.
I don't get it much, Viber is a very good app for messaging and i admire the technology they are sharing to the people to communicate,
they are so successful, and now they are having an ICO, is this for money matter? what will Viber need an ICO for?
I wonder what will be the purpose of having a cryptocurrency. Viber is pretty much a free service, I don't see any uses for these tokens and don't think it will carry much value. It just seems like every platform with millions of users are hopping on the cryptocurrency bandwagon.
Not a Viber user so can't say for sure, but can assume that like any other messanger they're following a few simple goals: - raise money on ICO for further product development and to be able to compete in the future with such a strong competitor like Telegram or others; - if Viber is completely free to use now, they will add for sure some paid functionality in the future and make all the in app purchases and additional services available only in their coins so as to provide demand and raise in price of their coin and get more additional profit out of the coins. Despite Viber is not widespread worldwide but if they really have 900 million active users in Russia like it stated above, it is still a huge audience which can ensure a huge profit for them. It's a wrong business strategic move if they go through with offering a cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency industry is flooded with scams. This could ruin their platform and eliminate many users if scams start to pop up on Viber. They are better off implementing ads if they need to raise funds. |

While I was little away from the updates there has been lot of changes in this project. I saw brand and new website has gone under reshaping process. I didn't try yet but it should be something useful and cool if they took so much time to build this application.

There are so many good projects that are undervalued at the moment. There's no reason to invest in a project that looks risky. You're pretty much just gambling instead of investing. I would recommend investing in projects like Stratis, Waves, and BAT. These projects will be around for as long as cryptocurrencies exist.

The soft cap is the must meet requirement or the project doesn't move forward and everyone who participated in the ICO will receive a refund. The hard cap is the maximum amount of funds that the project will accept and then the ICO is considered completed and no one else can participate.

I don't think cryptocurrency will kill cash in this lifetime. Cash is too strong and it is accepted worldwide by everyone. You can purchase just about anything with cash. Compared to cash, cryptocurrency still has a long ways to go to be accepted by society.

Projects with anonymous developers is different from having no developers. There still is a developer. I personally do not own any cryptocurrencies with anonymous developers. It's not to say I wouldn't consider it. Some people just don't want to reveal themselves for safety or personal reasons.

It isn't a bad idea to invest extra money you have saved. I would recommend not investing more than half of what you save per month. Research altcoins and invest in a couple of those. Stratis, Waves, BAT, are all undervalued with strong teams. |

Teaching about cryptocurrency in high school is a bad idea. Cryptocurrency markets never close and if students get involved, they will suffer from lack of sleep and will end up with under performing grades. Cryptocurrency education should only be taught to those who "discover" it. It's not for everyone.

STRAT has a masternode implementation planned for the future right? Any info. on how many STRAT you would need in order to run a masternode?
That is correct, however masternodes will require 250,000 STRATs which is out of reach for many. Chris Trew did mention that there will be other nodes that will only require 10,000 STRATs and possibly nodes as low as 1,000 STRATs. |
