Quite honestly I am no longer surprised by anything I've been around for Mt. Gox, Cryptorush, Mintpal/Moolah and now Cryptsy. I like my Polo and my Bittrex but make no mistake no exchange is immune. That is why I do not hold large numbers of coins on exchanges and I spread them out that way if any one exchange fails it don't get wiped out. Good rule of thumb is to only put what you are immediately going to buy or sell on the exchange and then move it to your own personal wallet yes you pay a bit more in withdrawal fees but I'll gladly pay that price compared to losing everything in one hack/scam/whatever.

Just check what algo you want to mine (X11, Neocrypt) and edit your mining software's .bat file. Create a worker on this page https://www.ipominer.com/accountdetails (left side) Select the port on the frontpage (i.e. stratum+tcp://pool.ipominer.com:3335 for X11 Multipool) Your batch file should look similar to this one yourminersoftware.exe -k x11mod -o stratum+tcp://pool.ipominer.com:PORT -u USERNAME.WORKERNAME -p x OTHERPARAMETERS do you have minersoftware gpu i only have cpu get at least version 1.5.7 of tupoev's or sp's ccminer mods (you can find them here on the forums) they contain optimizations that increase your mining speed. for instance on an Nvidea 840M GPU I got about 1Mh/s using the "stock" ccminer mining the x11 algo and I now get about 1.4Mh/s - 1.5Mh/s which is a MASSIVE boost in hashrate. |

Simple GPU miner - A simple AMD GPU miner that connects to a local daemon will be available before launch. In the future, proper getblocktemplate functionality will be enabled and pool software will be made available.
@decred, I would like to get some detailed clarification about mining. First of all, why a new miner and why not support for pooled mining from the beginning? There are already GPU miners available: For AMD GPUs: https://github.com/Griffitsj/cgminer-saffron/cgminer --blake256 -o stratum+tcp://... For NVIDIA GPUs: https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer or https://github.com/sp-hash/ccminerccminer.exe -a blake -o stratum+tcp://... These two miners implements Blake256 algo with 14 rounds, the same as Decred is using. So mining software is already here, why not simply use it? Are you planing to make any changes in the algorithm (if yes, why?)? Or will these miners be able to mine on Decred out-of-the-box once pools are out? Also, are you planning to go some non-standard way or will Decred be fully compatible with the standard stratum protocol for pooled mining? Thanks for the answers! People are asking about mining and it is still unclear weather existing cgminers/ccminers will be compatible with mining Decred. While I would like official clarification as well I was under the impression the newer(est?) versions of CCMiner support 14 round blake and therefore (at least as far as Nvidea cards are concerned) wouldn't it de facto mean that yes, ccminer DOES support mining Decred? or am I way off base here? |

thanks, but i have already added all of them to my conf file, it didn't change anything. it's still stuck at 612798, and i've got many active connections. the weird thing is the blocks remaining keeps growing. That means its seeing the new blocks but not sync'ing......do you have the newest wallet version? If so then I hate to say it but you might have to re-sync the entire wallet which could take upwards of 24 hours......I'm by no means a programmer just a professional crypto amateur (Irony intended) therefore there might be another trick a more learned pro might have but it's looking to me like you will have to clear everything EXCEPT your wallet.dat file out of your appdata/roaming/amber folder and re-download the entire blockchain |

Something wrong with my wallet, it's stuck at 612798. It said there were 99177 blocks remaining, and the last block received was generated 29 minutes ago, how could this be possible? any help?

thats why we need BTC as dividends for that
wallet is not working... whenever I tried to open it, it says, fatal error make sure the last instance of your wallet is actually closed, check task manager to confirm, make sure you have newest wallet version, try restarting your computer (you never know!) if worst comes to worst in your appdata/roaming/amber folder delete everything EXCEPT your wallet.dat file it will force the wallet to resync and therefore redownload the entire blockchain but it has helped me in the past when wallets started giving me errors |

In a related note as long as there are no Non-disclosure Agreements then I believe the Dev needs to be far more transparent, at least to qualifying shareholders, about the state of company finances, business deals, etc. I can almost guarantee that postponing Dividends for as long as they have plus putting up vauge posts saying "well we spent $900k on a deal so we have $45k for dividends" dividends that were supposed to be paid MONTHS ago I might add, does NOT inspire confidence. I believe that if the Dev were more forthcoming with information on whats happening with the company, what the company's financial state is, and actually making dividends on time then it could lead directly to an appreciable upswing in price. Not to mention getting added to Bittrex and Polo would help as well considering the volume there.

While I see the what the Dev is trying to do by offering AMBER as a dividend option (basically it would be a form of re-investment into the company by directly increasing shareholders shares and thereby increasing their future dividends) I think that instead of being an across the board decision it should be on a case by case basis. Some will want AMBER and some will want BTC. The way the Dev is trying to do it, while admirable by giving shareholders the vote, is the wrong decision in my opinion because by making a unilateral decision there is going to be a "losing" group that will feel alienated. Like I stated there should be a form or some kind of "Dividend Manager" page where each individual can choose if they want their Dividends in AMBER or BTC.
