Devil, if I recall, you voted for the moderated thread.  Lol.

If it doesn't make a difference anymore then stop wasting your time and energy with keycoin and stop posting on this thread already.

I did, but I sure wouldn't have called it a "community vote". Cheesy

Don't worry about my time. I can spare a few minutes to slag you guys off. If a small amount of keycoin money gets pulled and goes into coins I like then it will be worth it!  Wink

Alright. I guess who am I to stop you from making a fool out of yourself.

Not sure what your criteria would be to qualify for a community vote, but it was getting so bad in the old thread, enough supporters at that time voiced their opinion, and devs acted quickly on it.  But of course you will continue to find anything to turn it into a negative.  Let's say if devs waited a week or so to make a new thread, you'd probably saying something like "how come devs are refusing to listen to the community".

So basically you're just trying to annoy everyone.  If that's how you want to be known, then can't stop you.

From what I've read so far on both forums this looks like an excellent coin. I'll give two pieces of criticism though.

1) The nonsense about "1 person for graphics, 1 person for website, 1 person for twitter" makes it sound like the dev is  kid trying to bluff their way into success. Some people might be polite but I doubt the "team" is more than one person. One dev is fine but bullshitting like that is a put off.

2) A moderated thread? If you are not able to answer critics honestly then use a self moderated thread. Are you not able to answer critics honestly?

As I said, this coin has huge potential, it is innovative and feature rich and the dev seems to be quick and ambitious. For me, deciding whether, and how much, to put into this coin the two issues above should be addressed squarely with no whiny bs about "too much fud" or whatever.

Not trying to speak on behalf of the devs, but if you look at the old thread (or even this new thread), both the devs and community members did try to answer the serious questions and address legitimate concerns.  Posts like "this is scam!" or "get out now before the devs dump on you!" were not answered for obvious reasons.  The FUD/trolling really just got to the point where it was overwhelming and cluttered up the entire thread, making it very hard to find useful information.  Also, don't know if you noticed but it wasn't solely the devs that decided to have a moderated thread, it was actually a community vote.  They specifically asked the community if we all wanted a moderated thread and we all said yes.  Hope that somewhat answers your 2nd concern

As for your first concern, I can't speak too much about that as I'm not a part of the dev team, but if you read Dan Metcalf's (XC Developer) review of Keycoin, he did mention that he saw 20+ members on the team (or at least people temporarily working on Keycoin) when they invited him into a private IRC.  So I guess take that for what it's worth.

I think the reality is that there were a lot of people at the start who had small contributions to the project and the numbers have decreased since.  I don't doubt that there are at least a few dedicated members on the team who are still contributing up to this point.

Even with all the FUD/trolling attacks and the price continually decreasing over the past month, the devs are still updating (although not daily, but still more often than many coins out there) and releasing features.  I seriously don't know what more do people want.

Hey Devil, if you're so sure keycoin is a scam and you think it's so obvious that it is, then why do you have to put so much effort into attacking it? Lol

Anyways, it's the end of the week. Any news, devs?
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] The Coin(O) Community Discussion thread on: August 20, 2014, 11:56:58 PM
I must say, it's very refreshing to see a coin that is pretty much completely ran by the community.  Coino definitely is in a unique position because the original devs left long ago and the community still had the motivation to take over.  Really takes the worry out about a single person or group of people screwing everyone else over like you see with many altcoins out there.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 20, 2014, 11:23:31 PM
I'm such a drama queen!

Haha, I'm glad I got you going pretty good there.

Well then they should not claim that they are going to give at least 2 updates per day etc, you would think with a whole person dedicated to twitter they would speak more than twice a week? Im not surprised that people are mentioning that updates are thin.

Wow way to quote things out of context just to attempt to make keycoin look bad. They posted that stuff like a month ago. Major things have changed (such as people like yourself talking shit and spreading lies).  Also, saying that they don't update at least twice a week is a lie. You need to give it up man.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] The Coin(O) Community Discussion thread on: August 20, 2014, 05:41:59 PM
If any Coino community members are willing to do giveaways to get the word out then I would recommend it. I did one back a month or two ago and got really good responses.  I gave out to about 75 people 500 coinos each just for signing up for the web wallet. I think the web wallet makes it a lot easier for people to get started, especially the ones new to crypto/mining.

I caught up with Steve (smcardle) recently... so I can share an update to his condition:

After his car accident things looked fairly good.  However, he sustained a fractured skull and over time the fracture became infected.  The infection was fairly serious and he has been hospitalized for some time.  However, he is getting better and currently doing physio, etc.

Overall, his doctors say it will be four to six weeks before he can return to work.  He does intend to return to Coino once he is able.

I'm glad smcardle has plans to come back. That's very good news for coino.

Just as soon as I thought coino would be dead for sure, something new happens. Definitely a resilient community here.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Sha-256/PoW-PoS hybrid/Bounty Opportunities on: August 18, 2014, 07:07:52 PM

Test releases with source code available. Maybe smart peoples are understanding Teleport tech, verifying the source code is very close to complete, even running some test nodes. Or maybe they trust the dev that created multigateway?

If all these maybes were completed, do you really think the price would be where it is now? The market is discounting the future potential with the probability of completion, toss in skepticism due to many other devs that dont deliver, etc. and you have the current price. Also, we are not having much fancy websites or big marketing budgets. We just make hard work to develop the tech and the websites, etc. are all volunteer created.

BTCD is a work in progress, but you get to see the work progress on a regular basis. If having a chance that BTCD wont complete its tech is too big of a risk for you, then I suggest you wait. Even after BTCD is more fully valued, it will still pay the 5% per year interest, revenue sharing from InstantDEX and teleport fees.

James

Thanks for the quick response.  I'm very new to this thread and do not know a whole lot of what has been going on, but I must admit, I'm impressed with the supporters and investors of this coin.  They seem to put a lot of trust in you, and I can only assume you must have done something right to earn that.  I will continue to follow for now and see where it all goes Smiley

Do you know what happened to keycoin?
Sorry, it's hard to gauge the tone of your voice through the internet, but is this a sincere question?
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Sha-256/PoW-PoS hybrid/Bounty Opportunities on: August 18, 2014, 06:50:32 PM
Do you have any idea or explanation how this Coin keept it's value in this bloody days?

There is close to nothing that makes this coin looking attractive to me personel but this observed price stability fact makes me very courious. That's an indication for value.

maybe a coin that actually makes bitcoin anon has some attraction? http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-made-anonymous-bitcoindark-unprecedented-033200415.html

maybe tech that is somewhat understandable from DarkPaper? http://www.flipgorilla.com/p/23023990364728535/show#/23023990364728535/0

maybe availability of source code in realtime https://github.com/jl777/libjl777

maybe fantastic community that knows to HODL?

maybe 5% per year interest rate from staking?

maybe expectation of anon debit card?

maybe revenue sharing from InstantDEX and teleport fees?

maybe decentralized peer to peer sportsbook coming later this year?

Then again, it could just be random luck

James

That's a lot of maybe's.  I have been following BTCD recently due to the fact it had a huge rise in price and is still holding around there despite all these dumps going on.  It's definitely peaked my interest, but from what I can tell, BTCD's value has really only been dependent on promises made by the dev(s) so far.  I don't see any major feature releases yet.  Am I missing something?
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 18, 2014, 01:45:42 PM
Any news about progress of development?

Big website update this week, KeyTrader 2, and KeyOS still underway. Bittrex hadn't even heard of KeyTrader but likes it... we need more marketing and will do it this month.

As altcoins bleed out, our holders are people with more faith. We're staying here. Working anon, good devs, skilled team... 950k total coins and only 20k price. We took some harsh trolling but we're still well alive Smiley

Thanks for the update on progress.  There are so many traders out there who have not even heard of the KeyTrader app.  Whoever the marketing person is on the dev team, they should get to work!  As community members, we can help spread the word.  It is definitely a very good app and it would be a shame for it to go unnoticed for long.

Just checking in. What can we expect this coming week, devs?

Gosh I'm a douche.

Finally got the buy-in price you wanted?  How is that going for ya?

Oh, I just read your post history

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=257302;sa=showPosts  Nice job bragging about how you're going to edit the keytrader software to require a different coin.
Dude is a douche bag.

Yes, definitely the biggest troll I have ever seen.  At least other trolls had the decency to give up after awhile and move on to other things.  This guy really has no life.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 16, 2014, 02:19:12 PM
people in panic destroy coins, because they invest more than they can afford, there was not enough time to stabilize price because of weak hands, don't blame dev who delivers.

I agree.  It's really the community that determines the coin's success or failure, not the devs.

Also, if you want to see a coin succeed, then you have to give positive support and encourage the devs to keep delivering.  There are no devs out there willing to keep working their asses off if all they get is negativity and constant baseless accusations from people in the community.  So lighten up, people.

This coin has great potential.  At this moment, I don't see any coin out there that has delivered as much as Keycoin in such a short period of time.  And that's the truth, no matter what you think of the devs, major investors, or supporters.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 16, 2014, 12:30:50 PM

Well I wouldn't be surprised if you are wrong this time, people have been saying the same thing about Cryptcoin since it was 10x the price it is now. It seems to be a good excuse people use when a coin is dropping like a stone

Again, you speak as though this is just unique to Key (and Crypt).   People say the same thing about pretty much any other coin they support.  You can either call it being hopeful or being in denial, but that's just what supporters do.  The real difference is that Key actually has features and devs are still updating on progress and seem to be hard at work.

I think next week will say a lot as KeyOS gets closer to being released.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 14, 2014, 02:41:42 AM
Yeah, not everyone out there is going to care for the anon features or even the OS.  And not everyone out there is going to care about the trading app.  But it's definitely nice that Keycoin has different features to appeal to more than just one set of audience.

Would be awesome to finally see every feature together as one, coherent product.  I'm assuming this is one of the goals of the devs.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 14, 2014, 12:18:41 AM
It seems the question of the moment is "to charge", or "not to charge" for the custom apps.  Both sides have valid arguments, but here is a third option.  Do both.

Release the full version (after bugs have been squashed) and charge for it - pricing structure TBD.  There will definitely be demand for the apps.  Maybe do some giveaways to increase publicity.

After an amount of time (again, TBD), make the apps free to anyone.  This would be another boon to the community and good publicity.

This is how money is made!

One ultimate Marketing Strategy for Keycoin.  Grin

To sell KeyOS in every store around world on the rack where gift cards are sold.  Now everyone can shop with, trade & own Crypto Currency!   Plug and Play Baby.Cheesy  Even a child can do it.

Once the account is activated by plugging in, a portion of the 25 dollars is converted to KEYS based on the current market prices.  The end user can start trading Keys immediately without purchasing Bitcoin but can still immediately buy Bitcoins with their KEYs.

Yeah interesting. This could perhaps solve the problem of bringing crypto currency to the mainstream that many coins so far have failed.  Ease of obtaining and use is always good.

Definitely a long term strategy but as long as continued support and development is there, it could become a reality.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | Daily Updates | 8/13 - KeyTrader! on: August 13, 2014, 11:25:23 PM
The grudge is real apparently.  How on earth does a coin with this much going for it have a 240k coinmarket cap.  Yes, it's currently lower than mint coin. Wow.  I need to sell my soul for some BTC to buy key at these prices.

I know. A coin that actually has good reason for people to demand it.  But it's still in it's infancy. More people will take notice with time and we will see price reflect that.
