Uh, get people to trust you, they go to your trust profile and post comments like 'Done trade with him, sent goods on time'.

That's what I mean, you don't click a post if you don't trust it. Also, one's IP is not a dangerous thing.

Because they've been here for a long time, they've made the effort to donate, etc.... and they deserve to be able to speak [a little more] freely, as restrictions don't really apply.

This was a bad change. In regards to tracking pixels - if you don't think it's trustworthy, don't click it!

Add a way to publish GPG keys, that can't be changed without a revocation cert? That way, hacked accounts can regain easily.

|
|
Personally.... No. Edit: It's OK to do it in specific subfora, but not all over the place, please.

Add the ability to mark an account as sold That way, people willingly selling their accounts can make it clear

I am having trouble to add an avatar to my account/profile. I tried both uploading it as well as hosting it externally and linking to it. The image is shown in the preview right next to the image select, but when I press save, it doesn't seem to be saved.
Could this also be caused by the image proxying?
Read the fucking threads in Meta and stop derailing threads! plus one.

Problem is that mods can't see ip's (thankfully) so I have no way of knowing if someone is using their real ip or a proxy when I ban them. If I knew they were using tor I wouldn't bother. So you can either suck it up, or we can violate everyone's privacy by letting ips be seen by many more people. The former is the more desirable option, though more Inconvenient for you.
If you have to make a decision between privacy and convenience, then, of course, privacy is more desirable. I agree with that. However, I think you don't have to make this decision; we can have both. Why don't you make it this way:Every user account that is not banned will be "white-listed", and white-listing overrules banning. That is, if a non-banned user logs in from a banned IP address, then the user is allowed to make posts. (Of course, banned IP addresses aren't allowed to register new accounts, because this would allow to circumvent the banning.) If technically possible, please do this. Using TOR should be encouraged.Uh yes, that's very technically possible.

Well this sux. It's going to be harder to ID alts of scammers LOL. Ask theymos to enable unproxied images just for you? XD

Also, being able to automatically GPG sign messages would be nice.

Can anybody tell me the command to post .gif here in posts. I can't get it to work with {img]http://*URL*[/img}
yes, img is correct (with square brackets) Unfortunately, the bitcointalk website is now uses a proxy for some reason, so multiple different image hosts are no longer working correctly. This is because someone was using "image counters" (pixel-type or otherwise) in a recent incident... except it was something perhaps a bit worse ( the pixel / tracking / counter image method was being used to leak people's IP addresses and such, and perhaps even some other "unspecific things which are bad" described by at least on forum admin as "an attack") I'll be clicking "report this post" on the thread to get an admin comment ( I've encountered at least 6 threads in the past 24 hours with broken images which normally work fine, but not through the proxy. The collateral damage from this proxy is PERHAPS worse than the alleged attacks, but I can't say for certain because I don't have all the details) Proxy is there to prevent 'tracking pixels'.

Looks pretty fair to me, 0 risked BTC, and a warning with evidence.

Killer feature: Show 'responses to untrusted feedback' For example, looking at my trust list, Magazine and just_me have both retaliated at me for neg-trusting them. It would be awesome if you could show the feedback I sent to them next to this.

I just added another note to Evolyn.
Wut? ^.- Nice work jackjack! Well, I have a few suggestions: 1. while chat disabled, hide the quote in chat buttons. 2. option to hide toggle auto-refresh button. 3. a toggle chat button to disable/enable chat next to the toggle auto-refresh button (hideable in options, too) (I noticed the hide/show button, but I want to toggle the whole chat thing) Done in 0.2.47 * whiskers75 what about my whiskchat idea?

|
|
Maybe put a warning next to links from forum users with activity<60 (or 90 or whatever)
* whiskers75 looks at jackjack with his fancy BT++ script.
