Some pretty good for for thought for the OP, here's mine.

Think that every breath you draw and every moment you wake up to a new day, no amount of BTC could buy that opportunity to do so. Meaning, there are people, as i type this, who would give anything to see the next second/minute/hour/day out.

Too many people living these days like they want to be the richest person in the graveyard. I say fark that.

BTC train has not yet left so there will be opportunities but even if they are missed, you still have your life.

Make the most of it.

Do what you love, the BTC will follow.   Wink

This thread makes me think the value of Litecoin will go up based on the premise people will feel they "Missed the Boat".

I believe we have yet to set sail, so jump on board and quit whining about the price.  Any Bitcoin you secure today will be worth much more in ten years if Bitcoin succeeds at existing that long.

Countdown to Raffle

I've been looking forward to this for many months.  Thanks again for sponsoring this!

I set the clock to UTC, dunno when on Jan 1st, just that Jan 2nd there will be 31 happy Bitcoin addresses!

Good luck to you all.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 24, 2013, 05:03:18 AM
How much does it cost to advertise at http://mastercoin-explorer.com/ ?
Anyone knows? buymastercoin maybe you can tell me.
OMG - that infection is back?  What a rip off.  If anyone buys from that guy - sucker!!

Just going to state my piece, if buying from this guy is simpler to the trader investing than buying from the orderbook (whether true or not),
than as long as the buyer holds out till it's worth more, who cares.

If someone finds it easier or faster to deal with that guy, sobeit...with every purchase the overall value in the market just goes up.

I've paid a some hefty premiums for some of my Crypto-collection, and in many cases, I have made much much more than I've spent,
even with large markups in place.  The longer you do this stuff, the more you tend towards market rate, but I don't see why the 7-11's of the world
can't compete, always a market for convenience.

That being said I am downloading a fresh copy of Bitcoin-Qt to secure an address for a Mastercoin wallet and posting on this thread...but the people
buying from that guy probably never make it here, they just want it now.
245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trading on edge, for next 2 days on: December 24, 2013, 02:22:27 AM

Markets reached 670 (accuracy +/- 3.6 %)

Look at all you stock guys thinking you can predict Bitcoin.

i realize much of this is the same human psychology involved in stocks.  But you are not dealing with the same beast itself.

Rather than predict whats going to happen 3 hours from now, can you tell us when your crystal ball says we will start rising to a new price category higher?

I hope you guys making all your predictions with all your way cool day trader jargon are actually subscribed to Google news feeds for "Bitcoin" so you can see the true factor in Bitcoins true value:  Whats happening in the industry.

Bingo. Well said.

I have to agree that Bitcoin is bigger than a simple stock, however, the market responds like a money market, and the Op appears fairly well versed in that field, see earlier in the the thread where he's been hitting numbers with deft accuracy.  I believe Fibonacci scaled trading can be applied wonderfully to Bitcoin, as it can with just about everything.

I also believe these numbers are scaling out just as quickly as the Bitcoin infrastructure, which is building exponentially, but there are limits, and within those limits are fantastic opportunities to double, triple, or even quadruple your holdings, and that is where people like the Op sail regularly...I like those seas.  And yes, I am subscribed to several Google Alerts related to Bitcoin...this is Bitcoin's Anonymous, is it not?
246  Economy / Speculation / Re: Estimated inflection point ( from the last bubble ) on: December 17, 2013, 08:27:53 PM
Anyone else think the fees on BTC China are a big contributing factor to the fall?  No more free bot trades inflating volume...it's probably a very good thing long term, but definitely seems like it's helping curb China's insatiable appetite for BTC lately, the volume is dropping rapidly on those exchanges.
247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Estimated inflection point ( from the last bubble ) on: December 16, 2013, 11:29:11 PM
With more news coming out of China, we may see some of the 550 support evaporate, what's the lowest point you would set buy orders at?
248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Estimated inflection point ( from the last bubble ) on: December 15, 2013, 07:57:26 AM
Hey Op, what program are you using for your analysis?  Are those Fibonacci indicators something you added, or are they already in the software?
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advanced (order book) trading for XRP using Bitstamp and the Ripple Client on: December 13, 2013, 01:36:45 AM
Update...process is still mostly the same, but they have now added a Trade tab rather than having to click on Advanced.

To briefly summarize the process again:

A. Buy Bitcoin
B. Send to a Verified Bitstamp Account
C. Grant Trust to Bitstamp through a Ripple Wallet and withdraw bitcoin straight into your Ripple account.*

You may be able to secure your first XRP's (75 is all you need to grant the proper trust line) that you will need via Peercover and a credit card.

Peercover is actually looking like an interesting inlet to XRP, and by extension Bitcoin.
250  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: N00b - Thinking about going with Cointerra on: December 10, 2013, 09:41:36 PM
To play Devil's Advocate here...the amount you spend on it today may not be worth it due to rising network hashing rates, BUT if the price keeps rising, ROI may still be attainable...if not fantastic depending on how far it goes up, which is the gamble.

Technically, my mouth is drooling a little as well, especially since I watched my friend get ROI on his USB miners just a month ago, when he thought it would never happen (hitting 1000 helped significantly...and imagine if we hit 10,000...if you set it to solo and find just one you're good to go and then some (with that kind of hashing, I'd go solo to start just because, despite everyone saying it's the same or riskier than pool mining profits).

The big question is...if it does rise significantly, would you be better off owning a mining rig, or the equivalent in dollars worth of Bitcoin at todays price...will the rise or the device pay you more is the true question here...because either way, we all anticipate the price rising in order to make these worthwhile, but would you yourself make more with the device or the trade?  That's what you should weigh here to decide...also...lots of hassle mining and keeping your device locked down (people have reported butterfly labs thefts straight from their homes) vs complete freedom and ease of spending liquid coin.  You can tell which way I'm leaning.

I can't help but remember that the people selling the shovels were the real winners of the gold rush, so personally I'm just buying coin for now.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: casascius and other physical bitcoins is a fraudulent idea on: December 06, 2013, 07:16:44 AM
There are coin collectors the world over seeking to purchase a piece of brass with a fancy sticker for nearly twice the face value of a commodity-like instrument that didn't exist 10 years ago (which means there are many more people just becoming acquainted).  Will people try to counterfeit Bitcoins, and maybe even Casascius coins?  Does the Pope fart in the woods?

Calling it a fraudulent idea...well that's just naive.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: casascius and other physical bitcoins is a fraudulent idea on: December 03, 2013, 08:52:27 PM
if you're changing your username and are sticking around for a while, kill two birds with one stone: it's "analyst".

Lol.  Its current form reminds me of David Cross in Arrested Development...AnalRapist
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: casascius and other physical bitcoins is a fraudulent idea on: December 03, 2013, 06:04:26 PM
Casascius coins helped bring a digital intangible into physical form...one of the best things to hit Bitcoin since the blockchain if you ask me.

255  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Game Idea - Basically a Cryptocoin filled version of Ingress on: November 28, 2013, 03:13:21 PM
Indeed.  I thought about this after hearing that MCXnow will be re-released with gaming that you can win crypto with.  Made me think...what if Ingress offered a reward for taking a portal...in the form of bitcoin...and apparently with extra code to ensure no one is gps hacking and doing it from home.
256  Bitcoin / Project Development / Game Idea - Basically a Cryptocoin filled version of Ingress on: November 27, 2013, 08:05:38 PM
I have no knowledge on making this happen for real...but how cool would it be if you could play a game like Ingress (which is already very much like a game form of Geo-caching), and yet when you capture things you get a payout in coin which you can also use in the real world to trade against bitcoin, etc.

Just a random thought...posted in a place where someone might actually take it and run.

If you actually make this...please feel free to share some of your mad profits with me for giving you the idea, cheers.

Please deposit here if you like this idea: 1KZeE1GU3ZBemiZAFBz81emgkeyusc3h8Z

I put this in the Technical forum...mainly because it would require someone technically inclined to do anything about it, if there is somewhere better I should post it, feel free to move it there.

If you outright steal the idea...at least give me a beta-test pass, lol.  (history of Ingress suggests Google stole the idea from someone else already).
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP surge open source and ZipZap news! on: November 26, 2013, 08:28:31 PM
 Cheesy

Zipzap shnipzap...it's all about China hearing about Ripple at the Senate meetings and the newly improved Trade
tab in the ripple wallet.

I believe we've only just begun...Ripple is the second market cap on CoinMarketCap.com (look at the bottom of the page...click "Looking for Ripple")
and yet the price is one of the lowest of all cryptocurrencies...somewhere between .028 - .033 (USD value).  Which means anyone who bought it for
1 penny a piece or less has currently doubled or close to tripled their money.

260  Economy / Goods / ► Selling Mint 1 BTC Casascius Coin - Series Three on: November 24, 2013, 05:11:59 PM
This coin is in pristine condition and has been vacuum sealed to preserve it's Mint quality.

This coin was sent to me direct from Mike Caldwell (Casascius).

All Casascius coins are rare, and the intact ones are even more-so.  I have yet to have this graded, but I vacuum sealed
it the day it arrived (in a foodsaver bag).  According to the gentleman I spoke with at ANACS, this
was a good call on my part, and serves to protect the coin until it can be properly graded.

I will probably post pictures, but if you are serious about buying this, you know what it looks like, and this one is just
as shiny as the day it was struck, with absolutely no signs of oxidation.

I am asking 2.2BTC including First Class Flat Rate small box shipping in the United States, or 2.25BTC for worldwide shipping.

Also open to XRP, XPM, or LTC equivalents

Happy to use Escrow or simply direct payment with immediate shipping.

Please PM me if you are interested so I can arrange a payment address.
