2401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Quality Post? on: November 13, 2022, 10:10:01 AM
Your post is quality but lacks one quality. One which I've scanned to see on the list and didn't find it. Maybe, it's there, if not there, I'll add that a quality post is a post with references to the source. And it adds more quality to the first point on your list. References on a particular answer to a question facilitates a better comprehension to the reader by encouraging them to further research about the subject.

I should warn you that not every post with a link will be considered good. What the OP did is based on his own experience; what other links do you need? I will show you an example of those posts that have recently been massively deleted, this was a retelling of articles (check in the archive). But to be safe, the person always gave a link to the source.

A good post or not is always the opinion of the one who evaluates it. Any joke or casual remark can be so subtle and to the point that after receiving merit, it will be considered a quality post by others. A good post always evokes a response - not just soulless communication, but the feeling that the interlocutor is next to you.
2402  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN][In Merit] Post Count Down To Your Next Rank Here. on: November 13, 2022, 06:19:39 AM
In addition, there is already a thread in the Meta where DdmrDdmr regularly reports on all participants who are close to increasing their rank. All participants publishing here their statements about insufficient merits really look like beggars because the forum has long known everyone who may really need a few merits to increase in rank as soon as possible.
Modesty in this thread is not the predominant quality of the nominees. Grin
2403  Other / Meta / Re: The Reason why you chose your username on: November 13, 2022, 06:04:39 AM
Tbh, I don't want my current username because it was generated from random thoughts, is there any particular privilege to change username without waiting long or at least remove some characters? I saw some users managed to change theirs without waiting long, and some just waiting for an uncertain application.

Is it worth worrying about? My nickname was generated exactly the same, but I don't see any problem with that. I see that there are people who want to change their and there are even members who were able to convince the administrator to change their nickname several times, but apparently, they had big reasons for this. Being on the forum, we already recognize many by their nicknames, and it's fun to some extent, but we don't know their real names. But if I tell my friends about some forum members and pronounce their nicknames freely, my friends laugh heartily and say that the forum has become a small country with its own life and people's names.
On the other hand, we all want anonymity, and choosing the nicknames that we use on other resources is, in my opinion, very careless.
2404  Other / Meta / Re: Not Your Keys Not your Coins Banner Needed Everywhere? on: November 13, 2022, 05:46:21 AM
In addition to the forum rules, which have been suggested several times as a welcome message to newcomers after registration, add this motto and some explanation of this rule. If a person checks the box that he has read all the rules and warnings of the forum, everything that happens to him in the future lies entirely on his shoulders. Of course, it is difficult for a beginner to learn this rule from the first steps, but if the forum is "mother," then it is convenient to teach such warnings with mother's milk.
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My First Purchases of Bitcoin on: November 12, 2022, 03:32:01 PM
Congratulations, OP! Even though your purchase came out for a small amount, the main thing is that the first step has been taken. Likewise, as a newbie, I bought a few dollars worth of bitcoin in 2018. Being a beginner, I did not know about all the intricacies of wallets and bought them through Web Money. And only after I began to study the forum deeper did I realize that I should not trust such wallets.
Even if bitcoin starts to rise sharply, your profit will not be big, but it is always nice to realize that you, although small, are already a bitcoin holder to some extent. Don't stop with your investments, and don't stop believing in bitcoin.
2406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your key not your coins is real, not just quoted. (FTX Issue) on: November 12, 2022, 06:50:03 AM
How many people draw the right conclusions after we sometimes hear about bankruptcy or revocation of licenses from some banks? What do they do next? They go to other banks. I think the same will happen after the FTX bankruptcy. I don't understand why there is so much trust in centralization when the idea of bitcoin is completely different. People are lazy and greedy, and for some reason, many people have a strong belief that all bad stories will never touch them. The impression that some people live in parallel worlds and do not see obvious things. People need experience to sober up.
2407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Reminder: Treat Exchanges as Marketplaces on: November 12, 2022, 06:09:47 AM
Great comparison; it would be great to explain to beginners all the other points in such a simple way. But people have a short memory, and very quickly the drama that happened with FTX will go down in history. In the next topic, we saw agitation for the storage of funds on the exchange and a strong belief that the exchanges are obliged to return losses. This suggests that no matter how simple the language we try to use to explain the dangers of holding funds on exchanges, there will always be people who read vertically.
2408  Economy / Reputation / Re: Please check. Account with suspicious username cozytrade on: November 12, 2022, 05:37:55 AM

His dad taught him English, but later on mom relocated with him where he unlearnt English for Dutch.  Grin

There are a lot of similar accounts in the Indonesian and Filipino local sections. Some are not even shy and do not delete posts that clearly say that the owner of the account has changed. But as long as there are no clear rules on whether such accounts should be tagged, no one takes any action. Of course, these accounts are harmless on the one hand, but given that so many newbies are trying to raise their accounts to participate in subscription companies, the participation of purchased or hacked accounts should be limited.
2409  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Friends and Family members want me to invest for them, help! on: November 11, 2022, 01:12:19 PM
I find it hard to believe that you cannot explain the situation that you can expect in the case of unforeseen circumstances. If these are friends and relatives, and they and you wish each other well, there must be trust on both sides. Set thought-through deadlines for your friends to give them more information and review materials, so they understand the risks. Adults should be responsible for their actions. You can help them, but first, imagine all the situations and the way out of them. To be honest, I don't see a problem if you have a really strong relationship.

A brief look at the history of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies reveals why is dangerous to leave your crypto funds in an exchange. Since 2011, over $1.65 billion worth of crypto assets has be stolen, and the the numbers are accelerating on a daily basis.
Keeping your digital asset in an exchange wallet it comes with added risks. So storing your cryptocurrency there for a long period of time is not a good Idea.

There are many malware variants that infect computers, monitoring every key you press on your keyboard; they are called KEYLOGGERS. Some enterprising security researchers have discovered that with certain wireless keyboards, they are able to bypass the computer completely.
According to there experiments, they where able to scan the radio signals passing through the keyboard and the computer - from 50 meters away. When they analysed the data it was found that many keyboards were sending that information in a plain text- INCLUDING PASSWORD AND PAYMENT DETAILS.
The good news is that most wireless keyboards now use Bluetooth which automatically encrypts keypress data making it almost impossible to intercept or read.

When we talk about bitcoins, it’s never too late or early. Receiving them as a payment is a great idea indeed. Bitcoins are profitable but volatile and if you are not sure then take your time. Bitcoin, and most other crypto, is considered to be immune from inflation since there is a fixed supply of it and the government can't manipulate its value. However, its value is tremendously volatile, so relying on it comes with an element of risk.

2411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is BTC to the Society? on: November 11, 2022, 05:27:08 AM
For me, Bitcoin is primarily a convenience. The convenience of fast transactions, the free storage of your funds without unnecessary control and eyes, as well as the education of a person who is responsible for his actions, which is important for the younger generation. Being organized and responsible for your investments, analyzing the market, and having the ability to properly manage your funds are all advantages of bitcoin. And as a result, the formation of a free person, soberly assessing all the actions of the government and preventing manipulation of his life

1st Rule of Investing
Past Performance is no guarantee of Future Profits!

Where as in the Past, the Baby Boomers have been providing Massive Venture Capital to any moron with an idea.
Baby Boomers are now converting to safer investments ie: US $, as they retire.

The giant sucking noise in the Markets, is those retiring Baby Boomers leaving (since late 2021.)
All that free venture capital that was propping up all of the Proof of Waste mining operations,
is disappearing faster than a magic act.

So the real question, is how many of you are going to be alive in 2040 when Venture Capital Investment is again at maximum levels.
Not to mention the Proof of Waste Ban warnings from US & Canada & Europe much much sooner.  Tongue

Good point of view. How much can people deprive themselves of by expecting a high price of bitcoin? I always want to ask such people: “How many years of life have you measured out for yourself?” It is necessary to live life in youth, when you want everything at once, and to get rich in old age when there are no former strengths and desires, I do not see much joy in this.
Bitcoin is rising; if you see profit, withdraw; don't be a fan. Of course, a pillow in old age will not hurt, but who knows if someone will have old age and whether it is worth limiting life now?
2413  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Laplas, new clipboard malware on: November 10, 2022, 08:11:12 AM
The originality of this clipper is really amazing. Users need to be very careful, as the wallet address that Laplas creates is very similar to the address of the victim himself. Therefore, it is not enough to check the first and last few characters of your wallet address, as there is a danger of similarity. I have read that it is possible that the hackers pre-generated several hundred addresses so that the clipper can best mask the wallet input.
And again, of course, because this "gift" works on Windows systems, I wholeheartedly support the call of those who advise stopping trusting this leaky system and switching to Linux systems.
2414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about forum discussion on: November 10, 2022, 07:52:26 AM
Don't be embarrassed, OP; you're not the first nor the last to get embarrassed before a user is told that a question is not new to the forum. We can't manage newcomers and regularly send them to read the same threads that have already been created thousands of times. Over time, everyone learns to use the forum, and the questions stop. And the fact that old users are forced to answer the same questions, in a way, becomes ridiculous. Someday, all answers from one user will be considered plagiarism in some sense. Grin
2415  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask bargain for prices never pay full specially now on: November 09, 2022, 07:33:58 AM
I like your OP's suggestion, but it looks like a utopia. Based on your philosophy, when inflation rises, we have the right to bargain. At the same time, why are food prices rising? If there is no need to raise the prices of goods, why do they rise? I don't see the logic. In my country, prices can only go up. For whatever reason, they will always find an explanation for why goods have risen in price. If I go in and start haggling, explaining that I now have the right to do so, I will look like a crazy person to others.
2416  Economy / Economics / Re: Consumers to Spend More on Black Friday Despite Economic Downturn on: November 09, 2022, 07:19:30 AM
I think that many are just waiting for Black Friday to save on their purchases. Psychological reassurance that the product was bought at a cheaper price gives positive emotions and awareness of the correctness of one's actions. Although, of course, everything that you did not buy at the time of urgent need will remain an unnecessary purchase, even at a cheap price. They get used to good things very quickly, and it is almost impossible to wean them off. People do not want to think about bad things, and complete savings on everything can have a very detrimental effect on their physical well-being. Someone calms himself down with bitcoin deposits, and someone makes purchases of goods on Black Friday.
2417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie how can i invest in Bitcoin on: November 09, 2022, 06:54:42 AM
Bitcointalk is a community forum — you don't really do any "investing" in this platform (Bitcointalk is technically not an exchange, though you can buy/sell crypto here), unless you're planning on starting some online business and sell stuff here.
Exactly, but the OP could invest some time here learning about how bitcoin investing is a better option than invest fiat in a bank account.

Some users may misunderstand what a community forum like bitcointalk does, it could be because of wrong information or indeed something else. I believe the OP will learn, but now it seems he knows that forums are not investment platforms.

I am more than sure that the OP came to the forum on the advice of friends or acquaintances who also have the hope of getting rich quickly. I always pay attention to the posts of a person who is going to invest in bitcoins with great enthusiasm, but after reading the posts, one can easily draw conclusions about the real reason for the person's appearance on the forum.
Posting topics on very distant topics from Bitcoin and an instant desire to invest in it suggests that the desire will remain a desire, since the user has not yet developed a real interest in the topic on which he created the post.
2418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Notification Pop for Wallet domain name on your trustwallet is a Scam on: November 09, 2022, 06:31:48 AM
I don't think this ad was able to steal money from your friend, OP. Such advertising can now be found on devices in Android phones. The offer to get a free domain from Trust Wallet and Unstoppable Domains is puzzling to many users, but the news that this could cause theft of funds is only for you.
Advise your friend to reset the settings to the factory defaults and not download pirated software to the phone, which was most likely already installed on his device.
2419  Other / Meta / Re: Could This Help To Reduce Spam? on: November 09, 2022, 05:59:19 AM
I am generally surprised at the ability of spammers to repeat the same post in their own words. I tried to check their posts for plagiarism, and surprisingly, the posts show uniqueness, but the idea and meaning of everything said are repeated in many posts.
Perhaps it was worthwhile to establish a rule that any post whose meaning is no longer new should be deleted. If we complain about positions that are similar in essence and the moderators delete them, it will probably create a task for spammers to think about what they write.
2420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Bitcoin Holdings for your child from infant. on: November 08, 2022, 11:01:57 AM
Your idea is not new. I have already met people with similar ideas on the forum, and even people who follow your idea. During my youth, my parents put some money in the bank as regularly as they could. After some time, a good amount has accumulated. Now that it is possible to keep savings in bitcoins, those who are familiar with the subject understand that investments should be made for a fairly decent period of time. And at the same time, fears that in the time it takes for children to grow up, a lot can change should be taken as a fact that surprises can happen at any time. The aphorism "Nothing is more permanent than temporary" will always be relevant.
