2401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: May 11, 2017, 03:22:15 PM
Bitcoin is more than money. We can use bitcoin more than for payment. Bitcoin can we trade with altcoin and we can reap the benefits of it.

Who told you that you can't perform similar thing with fiat money like US Dollar or Euro. Have you heard about Forex? Forex exchange refers to trading different international currencies for speculative purpose and earning profits.

What is the problem going techy and use internet? Monthly internet in my country, India is cheaper than mobile bills.

Fees and risk is always higher in hard cash/ATM/etc. You can easily be theft, your bank details can easily be hacked. ATM withdrawal does have fees, so is using internet banking.

2403  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of global population are using or have at least 1 satoshi? on: May 11, 2017, 02:58:29 PM
It is pretty impossible to tell the exact number. But I don't think it is any more than 1% (70 millions) of the world's population.
So, you don't need to worry, Bitcoin has much to climb as it is just a starting. Wink
2404  Economy / Economics / Re: Nobody Can Have Benefit From a Big Pump on: May 11, 2017, 02:53:30 PM

I think I can successfully challenge all of your points

First, with markets thinning as it seems to be the case with prices climbing, we can see both dramatic price spikes as well as price crashes. Empty (well, mostly) orderbooks make it possible for someone both to sell through all liquidity provided or satisfy all demand for liquidity, and thus prices can be however low or however high at a given exchange. And this is not just dry theory, I've seen it many times at small exchanges when orderbooks get empty by some huge buy or sell order. Second, the exchange does know where the price is going beforehand since, technically speaking, it is them who are placing the orders, not traders, i.e. they see the orders even before they are placed. So no problem here either. Third, prices may be rising at one exchange but trades can halted at another. As simple as it gets. Fourth (and that's the tricky part), you can't know for certain that exchange is not actively trading itself, so the answer is yes, they can be in losses, and thus may have an incentive to halt trading

Yesterday I was reading about 'Perfect Competition Market' in economics book. There was a full fledged chapter, I think consisting 20-25 pages. I started enthusiastically but lost my all interest right after reading first line. The line was-
"Perfect Competition Market does not exist in real, it is just a theory".
Your take on my post remembered me the same thing, human race has reached far ahead of reality in the ideology based world with assumptions only, no reality.  Lips sealed
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: May 10, 2017, 04:35:15 PM
I don't know about being gentleman or elite but we can accept with complete dignity that we are technology superiors. In the era when everything is turing high-tech, why not the most important aspect of human life ie. money. Bitcoin has provided new grounds to the definition of money and early adaptors have made the well-deserving profits till now which gonna multiply more in coming years!!
2406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM on: May 10, 2017, 04:26:46 PM
I don't think BITCOIN ATM is sustainable idea.
If we take the example of fiat money then ATM is predecessor of net banking and e-money.
Whereas in case of Bitcoin, we are already at successive stage then what is the fun of stepping back and develop something having zero utility when person can easily buy/sell btc over net at much lower prices.  Undecided
2407  Other / Off-topic / Re: is worth to buy bitcoins? on: May 10, 2017, 04:22:20 PM
hi;

i have 3000$ and what do you think? im going to buy bitcoins and i will wait for years last;

is worth that decision good ?

Do you got any other source to generate btc? Possibly not!
So yes it is good to go with flow and buy btc even today! It is not tomorrow that gonna decide your return. Keep your btc as long as you want and in future (although not fixed when) but surely you gonna get 2-3 times return on amount invested!!
Because bitcoin is meant to break records!! Wink
2408  Economy / Economics / Re: Nobody Can Have Benefit From a Big Pump on: May 10, 2017, 04:18:32 PM
If Bitcoin price pumps from $1300 to $3000 in few hours, nobody would make profit from it, because the exchanges wouldn't allow you to sell your Bitcoins and make the fast profit, it would bring a big loss for exchange sites.

Do you agree with this?

First of all few hours is too less time for more than 130% pump at the price of $1300 !!
Secondly, how exchange gonna know btc is going to be $3000 or even more before hand, its people who makes prices. Thirdly, if exchange stops exchange how can price keeps climbing?
Fourth and most important, Exchange will not be in losses, it is not exchange who buys your btc but the people in form of buyer, rather exchange will make money in form of commission from increased transactions.
2409  Economy / Economics / Re: How to double your money using BTC? on: May 10, 2017, 03:57:00 PM
Here is a tutorial for dummies about doubling our money and not Bitcoins with scam scripts, remember no one has your best interest in heart to help you double your coins, however there is this thing we call it Bitcoin and indeed you can effectively double your fiat money with it.

But how?

-Simple, whatever you have buy Bitcoin(s) and deposit them in never before used addresses and forget about them for literally 6 long months/half a year.

-Tip: don't pay any attention to news and don't participate in crypto related forums and social medias, it will drive you crazy.

-Result: after 6 months and after your phone alarm went off since you set it to ring in calendar for exactly 180 days, open your browser and go to one of the reputable exchanges and look at the market price, if your fiat money wasn't doubled if you were to sell your Bitcoins then find me and kick my ass lol for bad advice.

Please refer to the Bitcoin price and charts to see if the price did or did not doubled every 6 months.

I can't find anything remotely similar to this can you? and if so please share with us.

Hehe, funny enough. You remembered me of roadside astrologers from my country claiming "Cure" within 3 days and guaranteed 100% refunds.
Well on serious note, Bitcoin investment has become profession in its own (thanks to continuous Bitcoin rallies).  180 days don't gonna work in present situation, one need to be more practical and forum lurker (whom you said a mean of getting crazy). Only having complete and present knowledge of ecosystem gonna help you make some profits.
2410  Economy / Economics / Re: Why 21BTC seems to be the target of anyone?? on: May 10, 2017, 03:50:28 PM
I have been reading posts on forums and articules about BTC and everybody seem to focus the target to achieve 21BTC, Why 21 Huh?

This is because supply of Bitcoin is limited to 21 Millions and holding 21 BTC will make you one in the million. You will be automatically placed in the list of top 1M holders of Bitcoin. However for me this is totally rubbish. I believe in continuous circulation of Bitcoin, no matter at what price it floating on. I use it as currency and spend it on regular basis.

2412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk Twitter Awareness Campaign - apply now and earn 512 LISK (0.16BTC) on: May 07, 2017, 05:11:03 PM
Dear all,
This thread was just for informatory purpose. OP very clearly stated that you need to make application in LISK own forum by 28th April. Now application period is over and campaign is in run.

Why only need 8 participants, this twitter campaign should be more for the participants to follow it or maybe you just have a little budget to pay the participants?
Campaign is paying 512 LISK to each participant. Check the latest LISK price and then tell me whether it is low budget or high!
2413  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a leading currency? on: May 07, 2017, 03:33:06 PM

Let's inventory the other constraints.

1. Unawareness - The prime constraint in the BTC way is it being too technical. Major portion of the globe is still technical conservative and money over internet is still utopia.

2. Governments' intention - No country would like that its citizens use currency unregulated by it. This will make the country economically weak on international front until it accepts bitcoin as prime currency which none country gonna do ever.

3. Internal conflicts - The scaling issue has arisen the internal conflicts and who knows we gonna see more conflicts and constraints in bitcoin ecosystem in future.
2414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If LTC succesfully implements SegWit, will and should BTC follow? on: May 07, 2017, 03:24:49 PM
Hey guys,

the main question of the day is LTC Segwit activation, as I see, the support is over 80% ATM and this has affect the price big time, LTC price has skyrocketed recently.

Once this gets implemented, hopefully without issues, would this be a signal what road should BTC take? Would this finally close mouths of BU supporters? Finally, would this be a sign what would happen to BTC price once this scaling issue gets resolved?

Thx

I don't know about 'will' but I surely say it 'should'.
I am not a complete Segwit supporter but keeping in mind the scaling issue, undoubtedly Segwit seems a great way out. There are several drawbacks in Segwit which may bring certain unforeseen threat to Bitcoin ecosystem but still I don't wanna loose Bitcoin as a means of micro-payment remittance therefore I support.
I wanna see back legacy of Bitcoin where people could proudly say, "Bitcoin is the cheapest mean of remittance.
2415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason of increasing bitcoin price on: May 07, 2017, 03:18:34 PM
Who are know the actual reason of bitcoin price? How can i predict about bitcoin pricing high or low?
I guess enough people have already told you the reason for present hype in price. So I would specifically come to second part. The clear answer is - impossible.
No one in the whole world is capable enough to predict bitcoin pricing accurately. It is primarily because of two factors-
1. The number of buyers & sellers in market is numerous. So share of single buyer/seller is negligible and he is not in power to manipulate price. However, there are parties with big reserves of btc and are in power to drive prices but still they can't predict btc future rightly.
2. There are several short-run factors which unexpectedly drive up/down bitcoin prices. Such contingencies are generally unforeseen.
2416  Economy / Services / Re: [OGC] OneGram.Org Bounty Thread - Get Paid for Your support on: May 07, 2017, 03:10:12 PM
I have a question manager, its about Social Media bounty. You mentioned 5 stakes per week. What is the fun of having 5 stakes if everyone gonna get same pay for a week? This means that person can has 5, 10, 15,...stakes and in the end even if you divide the whole stakes with 5, nothing gonna change. Why isn't it 1 stake?  Huh
Or I got that wrong?
2417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you convince people into you using Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2017, 03:19:15 PM
Many people need big proof to satisfy that this site is legit ..whats the best way to convince your relatives or friends

What do you mean by this site? Bitcointalk isn't bitcoin generating hub. It is simply a bitcoin discussion forum. Bitcoin is one of the most remarkable discovery/invention of 21st century and we all need to clear about our basics before inducing others to use it.
What I suggest you is to discover bitcoin through articles and forum, invest in btc by buying some units or best make some amount in btc through earning. In this way, you yourself will be an example before your friends and family and they will be easily convinced by you.
2418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transactions now take ages to confirm? on: May 06, 2017, 03:10:03 PM
I've been using Bitcoin before it was cool

I don't ever remember a transaction taking so long. It has been 3+ hours, my VPN subscription payment is long overdue. Is anybody else having this issue?

If you're going to moan about how I should pay more fees, then please don't waste your time by posting

LoL! You are talking about 3+ hours, let me welcome you to 3 days league. System recommended fees has reached its all time high and as far as I remember touched $0.82 to get transaction confirmed in 10 minutes. Last 5 of my transactions had taken around 2 days to confirm.
Time to say goodbye to Bitcoin for daily transactions, switch to Ethereum, the best alternative.  Wink
2419  Economy / Economics / Re: Increasing Bitcoin Market Capitalization, when does it affect real economy? on: May 06, 2017, 02:58:28 PM
Presently the part of global economy using Bitcoin is negligible. It is around 1 in 1000 persons. In such scenario we shouldn't expect that Bitcoin could have great impact on economy. However, Bitcoin has invincible potential. As mentioned in above picture by "cellard", bitcoin is presently just a point in total economy of the world. But as its use is growing constantly, market capitalization of Bitcoin gonna break its 2013 record soon and will multiply itself to 10 times by 2020, for sure.
