1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's About time We Look Beyond The Digital Currency on: April 07, 2019, 05:07:52 PM
In conclusion,  I think the project developers need to reconsider their options. Why must they all have dedicated currency? Why not create a project with unique usecase and implement your product to accept cryptocurrencies that are already established in the space?

I agree with your point. Starting new projects backed by new cryptocurrencies no longer make much sense. 90 out of 100 such projects are either failed attempts or non-serious try.
But crypto space doesn't have any other option so far. When raising money from people, projects have to offer something in return as a security to investors. Unlike real world, crypto space is unregulated so it is not possible to issue shares validating invested amounts. Tell me why would I invest money in XYZ project if XYZ isn't giving me anything in return? Creating anything requires funds so without funds projects won't thrive. Therefore, issuing tokens is one of the best way to solve this issue in crypto space and to power the value of such tokens, projects integrate tokens in their platform. Theoretically, that's the win-win situation.

Are you into sports betting games and sites? Well, my friend is encouraging me to engage into football sports betting games, Do you think it would be a good idea?

I personally believe sports betting is better than casinos

I always hear that words. People keeps saying that sports gambling are far better than any other types of gambling games but i wont agree on them . i tried to play sports based games on the past but why i still loose even though i analayze the team and the players  . for me i still love casino based gambling games especially the ones that you can find on 777coin.com

The predictability in casino gambling is almost zero while although sports betting is uncertain too but there exists a certain degree of predictability. You say you lose even though you bet after analyzing teams and players. Well, that doesn't make any sense. If sports are so obvious that one can predict the winner of the match just by analyzing players and teams than why do the millions of people even watch matches! Anything can happen when you are betting on real-world events. So depairing that you didn't win even after deep analysis is irrelevant.
But still compare below two cases:
1. Betting 0.01 BTC on 10 straight FC Barcelona's La Liga matches.
2. Betting 0.01 BTC on 10 Hi-Lo dice game with 75% win chance.

Since Barcelona is one of the best team in La Liga, max. odd would be 1.25. So one can win 0.025 BTC if Barcelona wins all matches. In the second case, one can win 0.025 BTC if all 10 games go in your side. Now compare both events. Even with 75% win chance in case two, it is more certain that betting on Barca would be a better option because there is zero predictability in casino.

1466  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-21] Blockchains Have Merit, But Cryptocurrencies Won’t Take Over on: March 22, 2019, 04:22:14 AM
I don't know how being a substitute of money is considered as a only mean success of Bitcoin by many. I believe Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies as a whole have much more advantages than the present form of money. We can't speculate money but we can speculate on Bitcoin's value. So it is wrong to put both money and cryptos in same bag as most of the governments and authorities are doing. It shows they aren't fully aware of what Blockchain provides. Instead of just being token serving basic features of money, cryptocurrencies provide much more with the features like Proof of Work, Public Ledger, transparency, etc.

I personally believe sports betting is better than casinos (although I love rolling dice on WinDice Cheesy).
Among sportsbook, football betting is my favorite and I have done lot of such betting in last few months. My favorite site is Wbet7. Wbet7 offers instant deposits and withdrawals with no need of verification of any kind. Moreover, it provides wide range of options to bet on, for example, in addtion to bet on teams, you can bet on number of goals scored, odd/even, half time goals and many more betting options. Also they cover all matches of top leagues plus international fixtures.
And the best thing is that they aren't limited to Bitcoin. You can bet using Ethereum, Ripple, Dogecoin and few other coins too.
1468  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap hit $140B is this the start of the next bullrun? on: March 22, 2019, 03:04:04 AM
This past week was pretty cool to watch the market cap go from 133b - over 140b today. Alt coins are starting to move again. If someone had to start trading to build up their nest egg and had $30 to throw into the mix where would you put the money?

My pics:
ADA
FTC

The movement of $7B is no indicator. CoinMarketCap estimates the total value of cryptocurrencies by multiplying current price and total supply. So even if it goes up and down, it won't have any psychological on traders.
About investment, with $30 as an initial amount I would suggest you to follow trends. Deposit them on Binance, put them on coin in pump, sell every now and then. During pump if you act smartly you can easily double or even triple by  simply buying/selling same coin many times within a day.
1469  Local / India / Re: New P2P exchange in India on: March 22, 2019, 02:36:50 AM
Hi recently came to know about Giottus exchange.
Its good for selling cryptos in India.

The exchange is genuine and few of my known have reported successful trade on Giottus so yeah you can try it. But I have also heard about fake volume on Giotuss, well never tested myself.

No matter how advance they are, Indians using a homegrown p2p platform is a big no no! At least for me! Any day RBI or SEBI can intervene and close that exchange because India is a hostile territory for crypto users. Along with that, those regulators will get every possible data from the exchange owners and track down the users if they feel so! Being an Indian, I will personally prefer an onshore p2p exchange just like Localbitcoins where Indian Government can't do much to track down the users!

Exchanging crypto in India is quite a deal now. But RBI has given green flag to peer-2-peer trading hence it's not too risky to use Indian platforms for P2P if they are not involved in shady business. Well, it's also a point how could we know that exchange is fully legit. So yeah your point is correct. I personally use Remitano and it's working perfectly for me. Also there is no requirement to do KYC on Remitano (LocalBitcoins requires KYC). I recommend Remitano to Indian traders.
1470  Economy / Economics / Re: Latest Bitcoin market trend - Looks like the Bitcoin Whales are losing momentum on: March 21, 2019, 06:46:59 PM
I think a lot of these Bitcoin whales might be losing momentum now, because we only see the price going slightly above $4000 and then they take profits and the price goes down below $4000 again. <They are playing around within a $400 to $500 price range for their profits now>

We also know that Bitcoin whales will decline over time as more coins are distributed from them and hoarded by more users. This process are slowly gaining momentum. <The $400 to $500 price increase is simply not enough incentive to tempt hoarders to start selling their coins again.>  Grin

Do you see this same pattern or am I imagining this?

I think the ongoing bitcoin fluctuations are too small to be called the manipulated ones. In last one month, Bitoin price remained in the range of $3.7K to $4.2K. So with the range of $500, it's too risky to do any kind of shorting.
No doubt most of the cryptocurrency market is manipulated by whales and bots but present scenario doesn't show that. Also by reading chart, it is hard to tell any kind of continuous pattern. So it is due to natural market movements and traders in large are buying/selling with increase/decrease in price thus nullifying any kind of huge surge or fall presently.
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: March 21, 2019, 06:06:50 PM
Personally, I think that the throne will get back to the Baratheon family where it all started.
I don't think that all the favorites are going to rule, Jon Snow, Danearys, Bran, Sansa etc will probably all die while fighting the Whitewalkers.

I would be happy to see such a situation in the show and I will probably bet for it. It is a value bet for me!

Baratheon family? You are aware that the bastard gendry is the only living baratheon now right? So that's highly unlikely. Spoilers seem to be popping up quite often now though most of them are questionable lol. Just a few more months guys lol.

Of course I am aware and he is the guy who I was pointing out that he is going to take the throne!
I am glad that someone realized that! I would love to see Stannis taking over the iron throne but he is dead, so Gendry is going to work for me. I don't think that there is no reason that they kept him alive all these seasons. He may be a key role in the TV series.

Gendry is not a king material. How can someone who spent all his life forging weapons can suddenly turn as a ruler. However, there is a possibility that throne may return to Baratheon family but who can become ruler? Well, yes Stannis Baratheon and who else! But he's dead! Well, did anyone see his head detaching from his body when Brienne of Tarth wield her sword? Who knows if Brienne actually killed him or there was some sentimental conversation among them and she let him go. Anything is possible!

By the way, my vote is on democracy! GoT will end with the end of monarchy and democracy will rule the seven kingdoms.  Grin
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Funny Them, Bitcoin is still King on: March 21, 2019, 05:44:53 PM
Nice post.
You should realize most altcoins are getting pumped because most of them only have trading pairs with btc
alone. And most of them either have fake or zero volume.
So when btc gets a pump, alts get a pump naturally because of those pairs that I mentioned earlier.
The real problem begins when people start to cash out their alts. Then those alts tank like there is no tomorrow.
There isn't really much support for altcoins at all. The volume you see on coinmarketcap is either fake or non-existent.

You are right to some extent but I don't think it's wise to put all alternative cryptocurrencies in single bracket. Although most of the altcoins are nothing individually and exist only due to pump/dump but there are few altcoins which have their own existential importance. Suppose if ETH would have never been created, does people able to create tokens as easy as they now with Bitcoin ecosystem?
There are many cryptocurrencies like XRP, Tron, Monero, etc. which have provided something new to cryptocurrency world that was lacking in Bitcoin-Litecoin era.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Disorder (Compulsive Gambling, Pathological Gambling) on: March 21, 2019, 05:14:40 PM
I'm assuming that everyone really knows the bad effects of gambling including me. But I won't categorically say that I'm a pathological gambling. Maybe in the early years of my gambling journey, wherein I don't have responsibilities in life. But it didn't arrived wherein I need to seek medical attention. I simply go and mature and learn to prioritized things in my life that's why I was able to learn how to control my gambling habits up to know, I win some, I lose some, that's just the way it is. I wake up the next morning, not thinking about it and go on life a normal life as if nothing had bad/good happen to me last night in my gambling world.

Not everyone is same. I have seen many people involved so much in gambling emotionally that they end up losing everything. In order to curb this psychological setback, the only way is to become emotionally strong. After all gambling is more of competition against own self than against odds. In order to become mature gambler, one can choose any of the following way:
1. Pro Gambler : Here professionalism doesn't refer to expertise in picking the right odd but refers to the calculative mind. If you are practical and calculative in every bet, recording your financial gain/loss after every bet then you may not lose much even if odds are against you or even end up winning huge.
2. Fun Gambler : So instead of taking gambling as gambling, assume it as a game. Use only that much of your funds which you can afford to lose. I generally bet just $30-40 weekly in sportsbook just for fun. Even if I end up losing, it doesn't matter much.
1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 Best Cryptocurrency Exchanges for Crypto Trading in 2019 on: March 21, 2019, 04:34:15 PM
Now more and more new exchanges have sprung up and many of them offer benefits to traders but I don't believe much in them I only use binance and bitrex as the most convenient trading places

I had one of the worst experience with Bittrex. Back in 2017, Bittrex was my favorite choice and I mostly used it for trading but from July 2017 they made it necessary to do KYC in order to trade. For personal identification they provide three choices, Passport/National Identity/Driving Licence. I didn't have Passport so I firstly filled National Identity but they denied. Then I filled KYC application with Driving Licence but they denied me again. I had 0.22 BTC worth of coins on my Bittrex account, even after series of support tickets nothing happened and still to present day my money is stuck in Bittrex. Now coins only worth 0.023 BTC.  Cry

I don't believe on the ranks for crypto currency exchange because it simply based on trading volume I think but it doesn't alone make the exchange better,there are even small new exchange also have better trading experience.

They may provide good trading experience but I would still prefer big exchanges. Back in December 2017, COLX coin multiplied 72 times. I had done translation for COLX and got around 0.02 BTC which became 1.4 BTC. I deposited my COLX on exchange named CoinMarkets and a day later exchange went offline. After 2-3 months of ambiguity CoinMarkets turned scam. From that day I swore to never use an exchange having less than $10M volume.

1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's your favorite to win this year's Europa League ? on: March 18, 2019, 06:05:36 PM
I see Chelsea probably pushing for the finals but I can't predict if they are going to lift the cup. I just believe that they will do well with there scoring power in the tournament.

Chelsea lacking the winning instinct this season. They aren't playing like the champions in any tournament. They are below average in PL (how easily Everton beat them yesterday!), lacking charm in Football League Final and what not. I think Chelsea won't past through Semis of Europa League.
So who could be the winner? My bet is on Benfica! Currently, the table leader in Primeira Liga, Benfica is the stronger contender for Europa League. Also they got the easiest draw in QF so it may be an easy sail for them till Finals.
1477  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-14] The death of exchange’s founder exposes cryptocurrencies’ biggest on: March 18, 2019, 03:38:55 PM
~~~
Oh my, exit scams everywhere. we should always stick with the top exchanges to avoid getting scammed by these perpetrators.
None of the exchange is safe, even the big names went scam in past.
Moreover, there are exchanges out there which although not wholly turned scam but are operating very shady such as HitBTC. So it is always preferable to use exchanges only for trade purpose, never ever hold funds on them. Also there is new trend growing among exchanges i.e. launching their own coin. Now I find this thing to be very risky for investors. Exchanges are already earning entities through trade fees, throwing them extra money by buying their coins is not a good idea from investors point-of-view. This model may survive in case of one or two big exchanges such as Binance (BNB) and KuCoin (KCS) as they have first-mover advantage but for other exchanges which are now adopting this idea, it leads to creation of liability which is not backed by any additional service. Moreover to lure investors, they promise fees sharing. All these things will backfire in future and such model will collapse.
1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey is a very active Bitcoin supporter! on: March 17, 2019, 05:39:55 PM
almost everyone that you ever see talk about bitcoin positively is doing it for their own benefits otherwise why would they waste their time this much to advocate bitcoin? it is not just positive talks either those speaking negatively have other kinds of interest that they are seeking out.
True. JP Morgan slammed Bitcoin last year and it caused immediate fall in Bitcoin's value. Later it was found out that JP Morgan bought loads of btc after fall. So such statements no matter positive or negative are purely for personal gains. Crypto community instead of giving air to such statements should focus on becoming more mature. The crypto market need to be more stable or growing upward constantly in order to gain more adopters.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A new look to KYC, from a customer's perspective. on: March 17, 2019, 04:48:44 PM
I think there is a need of an intermediary. A trusted intermediary which should receive the KYC of the applicants on the behalf of companies, verifies them and send the results to concerned company. I think there are already few websites providing this service but adopting them as intermediary is not a common practice among companies.
Such intermediary should work two-way, verifying applicants KYC one way and verifying the genuineness of company the other way. Everyone will be in win-win situation.
1480  Local / India / Re: Impact of Loksabha election on bitcoin price on: March 15, 2019, 10:12:17 AM
As you all know that 17th LokSabha election is just around the corner and most probably it will be held during the month of May and June.
Also a lot of people are aware that the current government is exploring opportunities to regulate cryptocurrencies in India. They have appointed a law firm to submit suggestions and Subhas Chandra Garg panel also submitted a report. Deliberations are ongoing on regulating (not banning) cryptos are ongoing.
Do you think there will be any positive impact  on the crypto prices in India if the current government wins again? Or do you think a new government will treat cryptocurrencies in a better way? Share your views!
I don't think General Elections in any way are going to impact the prices of Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Elections are fought on issues and cryptocurrencies are not the minutest of the issue. If we see the Indian population, after the closure of direct exchanges such as Zebpay only 50-60 lakh people are engaged in cryptocurrencies in one way or the other. I don't think any political party is going to care issue which can only give 50 lakh votes. So don't expect anything big for crypto from these elections. However, if the current government returns to power, capital market (inc. share markets and mutual funds) is gonna surge exponentially. So as a by-effect, crypto market may grow a little too.
Quote
If there is a betting ongoing on loksabha election results, I would bet my entire crypto networth in favor of the current government.
Agree beyond doubts.  Wink
