24041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP.. bitcoin transfer between my wallets big problem on: January 14, 2018, 02:15:24 PM
I posted it now.  You have been very helpful, but as I said, I do not understand blockchain enough to trust that, if I sent you by PM the signature / addresses / transaction ID's etc to check, you would not be able to use it 'against' me.
It's entirely up to you. At worst, a txid can be used to tie a certain transaction to you. In other words: it compromises your privacy (a bit).
In general, posting your full name and email address does more damage to your privacy. Any transaction you can find on blockchain.info's block explorer is public knowledge, it just doesn't say who owns which address.
It doesn't hurt to be careful with data though, in fact, I consider it to be a good thing to be (almost) paranoid when it comes to Bitcoin. For the future, it doesn't hurt to know a bit more about how Bitcoin works either.

I'm curious to see if Coinbase helps you out now, so please post back here.
24042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not showing in blockchain on: January 14, 2018, 01:13:38 PM
Also blockchain.info is showing all transaction even with extremely low fees.
This is not true, as the above transaction proves.

Quote
My advice is to abandon transaction and move to better wallet
There is no better wallet than Bitcoin Core. It's the original and gives you full control. The fee problem isn't caused by Bitcoin Core, it's a result of the user being in full control.

What is the best way to abandon the transaction with bitcoin core?
Let me quote myself to answer this:
You can manually remove the transactions from Bitcoin Core:
-Exit Bitcoin Core
-Backup your wallet.dat, even though you should have a backup already, make another backup
-Start Bitcoin Core from a command prompt with options -zapwallettxes -rescan (if you're using a pruned wallet, you can't use this)

Depending on your hardware, it will take a few hours to rescan. After this, your transactions should be gone, but Bitcoin Core might pick them up from mempool again. In that case just wait for it to drop again.

Full description of the commands:
Code:
  -zapwallettxes=<mode>
Delete all wallet transactions and only recover those parts of the
blockchain through -rescan on startup (1 = keep tx meta data e.g.
account owner and payment request information, 2 = drop tx meta
       data)
Code:
  -rescan
Rescan the block chain for missing wallet transactions on startup

I'm afraid I don't understand blockchain enough to include all the id's in this post or to you - I hope that is ok and you will understand.  I'm confident the codes are correct.
If you PM me the txids, I'll check them.

In July 2017, I withdrew 1.75 BTC from Coinbase to my wallet (Blockchain.info) with txid: xxx

Last week,Two weeks ago, on January 1st, I wanted to deposit 1.25 BTC to Coinbase. But, instead of sending it to my own deposit address, I returned it to xxxKMM, which is the address Coinbase used to send me 1.75 BTC last July.
I now know this is a mistake, and it can only be fixed by your manual intervention. Can you please credit the 1.25 BTC to my account?.  Here is a signed message as proof I sent it to you myself:

Message:
Hello Coinbase Support - this is Tim xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx This is a signature that shows the address I mistakenly sent 1.25BTC to your address: xxKMM from. I am writing to prove to you that it was ME that sent this so you can please re-allocate it to my Coinbase Wallet. The Transaction ID was xxx
I suggest to edit your personal information out of this public post.

I'm quoting the admin of whatismyip.com,he had stated this in quora :
Quote
The WebRTC vulnerability could give away your real IP address.  Even if there were no vulnerability, it could come down to how the VPN is set up.  Are they using tunneling?  If not, then everywhere you surf could see your real IP along with the IP of the VPN.  Is the VPN including your IP in their header?
You can of course disable WebRTC.
Quote
Quote
Even if the VPN were locked down and no trace of your IP were leaking, this doesn't mean you can commit nefarious acts online without getting found out.  There are log files on every server.  The amount of time logs are kept varies.  With enough resources and legal action, log files from VPNs could be turned over to authorities.  Once they see your real IP, they simply subpoena your ISP and will find out who you are.  Realize that it can be more complicated than the scenario I use above, but my example is to simply help you understand that you're not truly hidden online.
A good VPN doesn't keep logfiles, so there's nothing to subpoena.
Quote
Obviously not everyone on this forum is a tech savvy bad ass to be as careful and take all measures for revealing your real IP, but I just realized that it just cannot be implemented on this forum, as I began reading more on it, seems to be really hard to implement and theymos alone will almost find it impossible to do such.
Aside from technical possibilities, theymos values user's privacy. That alone is a reason not to do this. And in the end I don't expect it'll stop spam anyway, it's the core business for spammers.
24045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: URGENT - Is my Ledger damaged? Big tip for successful retrieval of my BTC on: January 14, 2018, 12:18:24 PM
They look pretty legit, real name, public domain registration data, etc.
You also recommend that same unknown website in most of your posts, which means you're totally related to it!

https://walletrecoveryservices.com/ is highly trusted on this forum, but here too: don't take my word for it, do your own research before trusting anyone with your wallet!

I wonder why didn't you already try to reset your ledger?
You can reset it as often as you wish without losing access to any of your coins.
But hopefully you have written down your seed correctly..
Even though resetting it shouldn't be a problem, just to be sure (and considering the amount!) I'd recommend to import the same seed into a new Ledger if you want to test the same seed.
24046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not showing in blockchain on: January 14, 2018, 12:12:54 PM
I don´t find the TX ID in the Blockchain-Explorer.
31b3e23780cf5e459ce8b2baeaf3582de97e1b412a8357b191d0a58f0beb341b

How can I solve the problem?
Blockchain.info is just one of many block explorers, and it ignores transactions with low fee. There is no "one memory pool".
Your transaction does show up on blockexplorer.com. At 20 satoshi/byte, I would have expected blockchain.info to show it though.

At this low fee, it's very unlikely to confirm. It's best to abandon the transaction and try again with a higher fee.
24047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP.. bitcoin transfer between my wallets big problem on: January 14, 2018, 12:06:19 PM
No answer so I am composing a new message. they will likely get to reply but I thought a new ticket may have higher priority.  I plan not to refer to the existing ticket
Use my "business like" example, send that. Feel free to PM me your final message including all txids and signed message before sending it to Coinbase if you want me to review it.

Quote
You suggested telling them the original transaction ID where I sent it FROM coinbase to b.info.  looking on b.info it seems for this and all transactions, there are 2 stages,

My 1.75 went to the address I recorded as it coming from ending KMM ... GREEN

The same amount went a few hours later from that address to 2 others RED

Am I right the original GREEN one is my transaction and the 2nd is some sort of reconciliation?
On blockchain.info, transactions received by the address are GREEN, transactions sent from that address are RED.
24048  Other / Meta / Re: Spam from @AlexPromotion on: January 14, 2018, 11:47:52 AM
@hilariousetc,can you please request theymos to implement or at least consider this :-
There is this thing which detects your original IP even if you use VPN or anything, so if you're banned, you cannot access your account/s even if you use VPN. Simple as that. If this feature gets implemented, then people won't have to fuss about shit posters.
I had mentioned this in another thread couple of days ago
I don't know what "this thing" is, but a good VPN won't allow any scripts to detect your real IP address, and neither does Tor.
Bitcointalk has units of evil based on IP addresses, it's not perfect but it's something.

I know it's annoying and frustrating but all you can do at the moment is keep reporting them and staff will keep on nuking them.
Don't worry there, I'll keep reporting them Smiley
24049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 14, 2018, 11:30:14 AM
a) Exchange Listings: What if an exchange was able to offer every one of their clients a little bit of "free money" and get some in return (say 10% of what is distributed to their clients for performing a service that ByteBall wants) - a little taste of ByteBall for all their clients as a promotion - do you think the Exchange would like that? I do. It would be a Fantastic No-Brainer Promotion that I would jump on in a second (good for them, good for us, good for everyone).
I've been thinking about this too, but I see several possible problems:
-it has to be an exchange with full KYC to prevent double accounts (people are already selling Binance accounts, and Bittrex for example has disabled all unverified accounts).
-you risk airdropping money on old unused accounts, basically just making the exchange richer.
-many people who "trade altcoins" on exchanges don't ever install a wallet on their own. Even if giving more free money to more traders can pump up the price, it doesn't accomplish Tony's goal of getting actual users to really use the wallet.
-you have to trust the exchange, you can't verify how many users they have.

Quote
Imagine if we could sign up a couple million new users in a few weeks time by offering this to a few exchanges we feel are worthy.
Reaching millions is the dream! The Transition Bot currently shows only 69249 entries, and that includes many people with more than one address. Giving away many millions of dollars worth of Bytes and Blackbytes didn't reach that many people, and yet, this little number of people already lead to a great value.

Quote
What if we set up a Smart Contract whereby a Byteballer Invites someone to participate, and gets a 10% refferal fee (or other percentage)?
This has the same problem of abuse: how do you know they're not just referring themselves? I alone have installed at least 7 wallets already!

I think the best advertising for any product is mouth to mouth marketing. Most Byteball users got many bytes for free. Just send some textcoins to people you think might like it, and let Byteball roll!

24050  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: January 14, 2018, 10:50:04 AM
I strongly encourage you to switch to using a SegWit address (and learn about it if you haven't yet)
I've been wanting to use SegWit for a while now, but Bitcoin Core doesn't have native support yet.
I don't really want to switch to Electrum entirely, but i can use it as an extra wallet.

Note: when using SegWit, you can no longer sign messages from that address. You can Stake your Bitcoin address here before switching to SegWit.

First, amazing job on selecting participants and pruning the members of this campaign.  I actually took the time to check out the members’ posts, and I’m amazed at the post quality of the majority of the members here Smiley
I use ChipMixer's signature as an indicator of posts that are worth reading.

We had a bot to crawl and nuke these users but it hasn't been working since we changed to cloudflare. Just report them manually for now and they'll be quickly dealt with.
I have reported a lot of them yesterday, the problem is that @AlexPromotion uses many different accounts.
When I search on Google for "@AlexPromotion site:bitcointalk.org", it gives me many new accounts. I've just reported about 100 more. At least this is fast again, the forum performs very well at the moment.

Is there any chance the bot-banning-bot will be working with Cloudflare in the future?

We will also send out $10 worth textcoins to all 1000 participants of the conference.
Please communicate this Gift not in Fiat Money $$$, please make all participants of the conference to Millionairs --- Byteball millionairs !!!
So must the conference participants look deeper into Byteball to see the worth.
I would like to add: can you make it $25 instead of $10? It's the difference between using about 10 or about 25 GBYTE from the undistributed funds. Considering it's the World Crypto Economic Forum, $10 seems so low.

Disclaimer: I'm not at that conference!

@Lauda: I usually report them for cross posting (or just plain spam), so I don't have a good example to show you.
24055  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: January 13, 2018, 04:23:36 PM
I think its high time service providers took a definite stance on this.
Most weird forks are only traded on equally weird exchanges. Once there is enough demand from users, other exchanges add them too.
I've predicted it months ago already: as long as forks are profitable for the creators, they'll keep coming. Just like altcoins, just like ICOs, this is just the next step. Hype a fork, premine 100,000 coins for yourself, and once people start buying it, you make tens of millions of dollars profit! Then, just like any ICO nowadays, you just pull the exact same trick on the next fork and profit even more.
This will only stop once Bitcoin users stop caring, but since it creates an "if I don't do it I lose out on free money"-feeling, people will keep using forks. I too can barely keep track of all the forks nowadays, but not claiming them means I lose money.

Now, back to mixers: be very careful when you claim forked coins, any transaction on any forked chain can link all involved Bitcoin addresses together, and this can compromise the privacy you're so carefully guarding when you use ChipMixer!

I've seen many posts like this in the past days:

We offer promotion and trаffic from the forum bitcоintalk and sосiаl nеtworks. ROI for оur servicеs is 600-2000%.
Wе оffer:
- Send private mеssagеs to  Вitcоintalk users (Onlу tо usеrs who visitеd АNN thrеad lаst mоnth)
- Twitter prоmоtion (Wе will do a twеet with a dеsсription of yоur prоject аnd will mаrk оne user on eасh twеet)
- Tеlegram reаl сhat usеrs
- Privаtе mеssages to telegram users (A+ tаrget audiеncе)

This is autоmatiс mеssage. Fоr аll tеrms х conditions write tо tеlеgrаm - @AlexPromotion

Would it be possible to ban based on keywords? A telegram-nickname seems to be quite unique, any Newbie posting it should get an instant-ban. Once such a blacklist is in place, it can easily be extended with new keywords.

You may find this quite an authentic marketing possibility for a future portion of the remaining Bytes:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ByteBall/comments/7opnl4/bytes_accepted_here_contest_10000000_bytes_prize/dsgoj8c/
Allow me to quote the main part of this link:
Quote
What if… Byteball makes a special ‘Discover Byteball’ page where people can upload their contactlist with email addresses. Every email address you provide will receive 1 MB (± $0,70) via textcoin from this fund.
I see two main problems with this:
1. Basically, it's spamming people. And although that is a powerful method used by almost every social media website, I personally hate it when a company sends me an email because someone else leaked my email address.
2. It will be very easy to abuse. Giveaways in general are heavily abused, and if all that's required is an email address, many people will claim this many times.

24059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will more and more restaurants start to accept bitcoin as payment method? on: January 13, 2018, 12:51:47 PM
Paying for food delivery with Bitcoin has been possible for years now.
The Dutch website thuisbezorgd.nl has over 7000 connected restaurants to choose deliveries from, and it's been accepting Bitcoin for years.
I used to use it, until fees got higher than my order! I highly doubt any restaurant will start accepting Bitcoin until the fee problem is solved.

The “Bitcoin Bucket” costs .0011204 BTC and comes with two dips., at current fees that almost doubles to around 0.002 BTC out of your wallet, and if KFC wants to spend the 0.0011204 BTC, most of it will have to be paid in fees again. Unless you order much more than just one bucket of course.
From a company's perspective, it's okay to spend money on publicity, but long-term they want to make a profit.

I've seen many people post the same message in different topics before.

I wrote in message why I posted on all that forums, so please before saying that I am scammer ask why I do this.

How is that scam? Whom did I scammed or what did I earn writing on that forums? I don't understand why you thought that I was scammer  Huh Huh
Lauda's "Illiterate" covers it quite accurately. Nobody called you a scammer, the word is "spammer".
