Had a very interesting discussion with a friend who is a financial advisor. I ordered him to buy some bitcoin end of last year and he did and he took me out to dinner as a very small thanks.

Very interesting discussion on the concept of money, digital immigrants, the concept of nation states, and such. Fascinating. But the basic thought that a global currency that can't be manipulated by banks or nations is one that when certain people in the club wake up and think about it are not going to like it much.

Then again it could be like the euro. I'm still thinking about this one, will be for the next few weeks.

Hm.
2422  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Cheap and simple repair of S7 hash board on: December 13, 2017, 01:51:43 AM
Hello everyone,

I have a S7 with 45 chips...
Board one only detects 23 chips...but sometimes it detects all 45 chips..
Once (1 from 100) it runs perfectly with all the 45 chips
Even if it's dectects 23 chips it runs only stable for couple of minutes..is there any chance to repair it?

Is this Picture https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GOoFIu8c82s/V18K4PYcePI/AAAAAAAGi6I/BOOf0PaRMkoezoFTYsaj1cJOeUiurgq8QCLcB/s1600/antS7-top-view.jpg correct?
So my faulty board (one) would be on the left side?

Thank you

Hm. What is the voltage as measured between ground and the inductor?

Ok, Litecoin has just surpassed bitcoin for the 24 hour total dollar volume on worldcoinindex.com

We are officially fucking nuts.

People are tired of $20 transaction fees and vendors of stuck bitcoin transactions. Average litecoin fee is under 50 cents. If I were selling on the marketplace I would be accepting litecoin only right now until LN is working well.

Genius
That's pretty much why I take LTC for payment. Still weird to see it happening.

They need your btc. You should trade yours to them for some litecoin. Or eth. Or some other shitcoin. Can't you see they're going up?
Hm. Interesting theory. However shouldn't people be trading this now worth a lot more LTC for BTC?

What do you think the litecoin whale pumpers are doing?  Grin
Perhaps. However I'd expect more movement from Bitcoin. Then again bitcoin big, litecoin small.

Hm.

Myself, I'm trying to debate whether the next big stock pump will be in the Hefty Trash Bag company or the Glad bag company.....

The next 24 hours are critical, right?

Jesus fucking Christ I lost a lot of money yesterday by beating that traffic light.

Note: The above is a very, very bad way to think. Are there meditation techniques to fix this?

Or in my retarded calculations yesterday, cash? (That worthless green stuff people put in garbage bags?)

Wtf litecoin
As I said earlier, sold a couple of them yesterday at $160 or so each, part of my have to take money out thing for quarterly expenses and such. Every time I do this, the price of that coin goes bonkers that afternoon.

(Yes, sometimes I feel like a narcissist, sometimes I feel like the universe personally exists to toy with me like a cat with a ball of yarn).

Anyway, never dull. I'll have to remember to sell a few bitpennies next time or something... :-)

2430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 03:34:34 AM
Ok, that was perfect.
2431  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 03:28:37 AM
Main advantage of litecoin: You can go to the bitcoin ATM, put in your LTC, and in about 2 minutes tops the money pops out. With bitcoin that can take 20-30 minutes.

So for hooker speed transactions it's the way to go.
2432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 02:29:25 AM
You can thank me for that: I sold 10LTC this morning for $170 or ao.

Enjoy!

Worst of all is the ENVIRONMENTAL damage caused by the chemical spills caused by all mining including gold where mercury is used.  Most mining industries have tight standards in developed countries but the pollution left behind trapped in pits and lakes eventually fail and flow into the rivers and aquifers.  The damage is appalling!  In third world countries even children are exposed to mercury in the processes of gold extraction.

Who here hasn't played with mercury as a child?
2434  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s9 hashboard repair on: December 11, 2017, 05:23:01 AM
Assuming I am out of warranty, is it possible to run the antminer s9 with the two outer hashboards while I send the cebter one out for repair(or to sell) because I would't like to forgoe the cool 0.01 BTC it is generating every six days while I have the board fixed or sold.
I am using the apw3++ PSU
Thank You. Feel free to pm if youve had similar troubles so we can see what each did to fix the problem... Or better yet just reply this thread
Probably. Just watch the temps on the other two, meantime what's wrong with it?
2435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 11, 2017, 03:18:56 AM
So it looks like the drop to triple digits isn't going to happen tonight, go figure.

Gotta fix more miners! Finally figuring out the Antminer series, those things are basic as a box of rocks. I always though Bitmain had some super cool tech, naah same basic issues as the rest of them.

In germany a court recently allowed banks to collect negative interest for savings from their customers. It's like they are forcing us to buy bitcoin.

source: I only find german sources: http://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/service/kleinsparer-gericht-haelt-negativzinsen-bei-neuvertraegen-fuer-zulaessig-a-1182416.html

Aww man, that's just criminal. These banks are going to go extinct.

Hardly: The banks are providing a service: Safeguarding your money.

(I know, hahahahaha!!!!!)

Meantime, looks like things are back to normal, where normal seems to mean 15k. That's ok but it would be nice if bitcoin did something.... :-)
2439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 10, 2017, 02:39:07 PM
do you guys know when the next antminer s9 will be available? the current stock is sold out and I can't find any dates. or do you know something about current or upcoming s9 alternatives?
No idea, but given who is selling them I'd wait for competition to come out. There was one company that was just about ready (forgot the name) from China and one that is currently in the research phase in Japan. I'd go with GPU mining some other coin until it's possible to avoid Bitmain though.
This is how crazy mining is: People are asking for advice and sending in parts to get Neptunes working. Yes, KNC Neptunes.....
