2421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: September 18, 2019, 11:15:37 PM
@HairyMaclairy. In your opinion, will grin diseased dick itself to $0.50? What is your crystal ball showing you hehehe?

@Febo. 20 years, grin's inflation will be lower than 3%. The price will depend on adoption.

20 years is an eternity in crypto,  Why couldn't they just put a reasonable inflation rate at the start for grin.  Tech can be great but if price doesn't pump people wont care.

You cant start with reasonable emission rate. You start with 0 coins. then you add first day some coins and that day inflation is infinite. Second day you add same much emission ass first day and that day daily inflation is 100%. Third day you add dame and daily inflation is 50%, ....   You cant do it lower. It was same with Bitcoin. First days emission inflation was huge.

The issue most people have though is that GRIN won't have any halvings, it'll keep going with the same rate.

Some people find the halving as an insurance for the future, personally I see it as a pyramid where the few who found out a project early become millionaires if many poor souls join the party later.

More like a pyramid of death, since sooner or latter emission runs out to secure the network.

But a lot of people I see complain of situation right now. They dont even care what will be half year in future. Forget the 10 or 30 years ahead when Grin and Bitcoin will have some serious difference in emission.
2422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: OKEx Exchange Welcomes Hedera Hashgraph to its Platform on: September 18, 2019, 09:28:33 PM
One of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchanges, OKEx, will become one of the only exchanges to list Hedera Hashgraph on its platform.

At least their Korea branch is shitty exchange. Although there is no reasons they decided to delist Monero. They are or reading FATF policy wrong or they have some other intentions. I am just happy there are better exchanges to use.
2423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: OkEx Korea removes all privacy coins on: September 18, 2019, 08:53:42 PM
Five privacy coins including monero, dash, zcash, horizen and super bitcoin are to be delisted from the exchange. Apparently the Korean government has asked crypto exchanges to implement the FATF guidelines which include the travel rule.

It will be interesting to see if exchanges choose to implement TRISA which is CipherTrace's solution to the FATF policy rather than delisting them.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

https://tokenpost.com/Crypto-exchange-OKEx-Korea-to-remove-all-privacy-coins-including-monero-dash-zcash-over-FATFs-travel-rule-3443

Thoughts are simple. OKEx Korea know everyone on their exchange, since they KYCed themself. So they know who deposited every coin on the exchange as who withdraw coins from that exchange. That is what FATF policy is all about. In FATF policy there is no reason for delisting any coin. There are just reasons for them to focus more in KYCing their customers.

At which price will loose Bitcoin the dominance in the Crypto Market?

Coinmarketcap marketcap have little meaning. On that list are all kinds of cons, tokens securities, ... Everything and they simply cant be compared. Bitcoin can have 15 dominance but that would not change anything. It would still be most used currency.   On CMC coins like Bitcoin are Litecon and then Monero. BCH And BSV are also same, just that since so many did not claimed the coins its marketcap is way to inflated. The rest are non mineable or were started in ICO. You cant compare something that is made while burning electricity with something that they just print few billions.
2425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Privacy coins getting delisted on: September 17, 2019, 10:00:11 PM
I don't like this news. From what I know OKex doesn't handle fiat, so they should not necessarily comply rules.
On the other hand, it can be a method to avoid hacks/hackers get use of stolen coins, if the other exchanges also comply.

I agree. It is strange. Not to mention they talk for a year in Korea about it. Makes very little sense.

Well it's better than giving people false promises regarding their privacy. As soon as your real information is linked with a privacy coin like XMR or ZEC then it loses much of its anonymity.

How can you explain a bit more. You cant unlink your identity from a coin with transparent ledger once you linked your identity to them.  Impossible to do it. With Monero is simple. All you need to do is send it to another valet and no one, except you , dont know where those coins come from.
2426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Btc price is allready too high on: September 17, 2019, 09:18:08 PM
Btc price is allready too high.

And the fact that we are in Economic slow Down, so the investor who got 10k likely Not gona invest it in Bitcoin

You are right that price of Bitcoin is not cheap. Bitcoin was cheap at beginning of year and then after correction up keep continue going up for almost half year instead of going sideways. Now will most likely catch up on that.  What will other coins do depend on them. Some will go eventually to zero. Next financial crisis will definitely help with that.

There is economic slow down, but there is no crisis yet. And on long term this crisis will help Bitcoin greatly.

2428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 17, 2019, 05:32:31 PM
My theory about this is that when the mainstream coins like Libra hit the market, they will bring the Bitcoin dominance down because they will be pumped/inflated.

Im sure next year we will see Google, Apple, Amazon, etc all jump in. Bitcoins dominance will have to compete with those coins to which would likely bring the dominance down.

CMC can suck anything for money but I think even they haven't lost their mind that much to list Libra as a cryptocurrency.

I don't believe Facebook will join that MarketCap rat-race neither.

There is no reasons that Libra will not be on CMC. Of course it will. There are a lot of tokens there. What CMC should do is to make different lists and not mix pears with apples.
2429  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will The Upcoming Recession Affect Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2019, 06:48:10 PM
I think it's important to consider what impact the recession that's upcoming will have on Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has never been through a recession, and so we don't know how owners of and investors in Bitcoin will react.

My thinking is as follows:

1. Retail investors by and large, will need to sell/spend their Bitcoin to pay their expenses and suppor themselves through the recession. So this could cause a dip in the price and a lessening in demand throughout the period.
2. Institutional investors may well choose to sell Bitcoin during the recession, in order to move funds into less volatile assets such as Gold.
3. Wales will likely hold their Bitcoin, and even pick up additional Bitcoin during any dips in the price, believing that Bitcoin will outlast the recession and will be far more valuable within the next 5, 10, and 15 years.
4. There won't be any parabolic rises seen in Bitcoin as a result of FOMO after the halving. This requires retail investors who have excess cash, or access to cheap credit, both of which are lacking during recessions.

My assumptions are based on research I've carried out and summarised in the below video:

https://youtu.be/faAjgUZJu0k

How do you think the recession will affect Bitcoin?

It can happen that recession come after the bull run and next ATH. There is less and less chances for that but it still is a chance. Also. Biggest chunk of wealth is in hands of small elite. They dont need to sell anything since have plenty of everything already or most likely dont have any Bitcoin now.  When they see things crash they might consider it. Of course Gold will be strong contender here.  If recesion strikes next year, that will for sure postponed the bull run of current bitcoin cycle.
2430  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy consumption will become an issue if bitcoin really breaks through on: September 16, 2019, 06:17:20 PM
Energy efficiency has no effect on the amount of energy used by miners.

Energy deficiency have huge effect on constantly increasing hash rate. Energy spent increase way slower if at all.

To return to the subject.  If Bitcoin break thought price of energy will increase. Since demand for energy will be higher, it will push price up.
2431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are Virgin Bitcoins on: September 16, 2019, 05:24:23 PM
I have a virgin repair kit.  Grin  The reason why people might pay a premium for "clean" coins, would be that they do not want the "unknown" transaction history of coins to involve them in some of the "dirty" things that some of these coins might have been involved with.

So, my virgin repair kit involves Coin mixers, because with these mixers you simply erase all the "bad" transactions that might have been done with the coins that you received. You push it through the Mixer and people cannot trace the origin of those coins, so you cannot be implicated with anything, because nobody can track the transaction history of those coins.  Cool

They can't trace it for now, but that doesn't mean they won't be able to in future. Mixers don't erase history they only make it harder to discover.
I don't care what history my coins have. There's no taint in bitcoin and coins are not being rejected by exchanges yet. I will worry when that happens.

How are they going to trace it in the future? The Mixer sites do not keep logs of the mixing of the coins, so even if they identify the owners of the sites and they raid the site, they will not find any logs of any coins that were mixed by this service.  Tongue

Yes, there are some exceptions and some of these sites might even be law enforcement honey traps, but the one I am using for years now, looks to be relatively safe.  Grin  <See my signature for more details>

A lot of researches and development is put into blockchain analysis. A lot of startups is founded.

Mixing your coins with coins that come from serious crime is super dangerous and I would never risk that. You might want to hide you been buying weed but end up being accused of a murder.
2432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: crypto and gold on: September 15, 2019, 04:52:09 PM
Last week I saw the crypto market of bitcoin and altcoin all fell dramatically because there was competition in gold trading that made all prices fall, is gold investment more profitable than bitcoin and altcoin which are vulnerable to hacking.

Gold is way more vulnerable to counterfeit then Bitcoin. They constantly find fake gold bars. Constantly. There cant be double spent Bitcoins if you are cautious and wait few confirmations.  What you wrote is totally opposite from reality. Also a lot of Gold gets stolen from jewelers or from private houses. A lot!  IT can also happen that Bitcoins gets stolen from valets that were not secured properly.

Why gold went us is because gold is store of value for last 4000 years. It will stay that way fro some more time at least. Because of gold going up Bitcoin do not need to go down, but the opposite. When one goes up other should follow.
2433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: September 15, 2019, 04:06:54 PM
@Febo. 20 years, grin's inflation will be lower than 3%. The price will depend on adoption.

Price always depend on adoption. Adoption is part of a demand and demand pushes price up. Supply are the coins that people want to sell and is pushing price down.  Newly mined coins or emission adds to the supply since a lot miners have to sell to pay their electricity.  Influence of emission of a supply reduce over time.
2434  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed and Europe and Even Australia did rate cut but btc Still low on: September 15, 2019, 03:43:15 PM
Fed, au and europe is about to cut rates.
But Why Bitcoin is Still low?
2017 was Even less rate cuts but btc was 20k.

Bitcoin lost 50% from 2017. It will take decades or even a century with this pace that we will have -50% interest rates.
2435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: September 15, 2019, 03:18:16 PM
Is it me or is the Dash price wayyy UP lately ?  Grin

One would think that after noticing this thread has no longer a Monero-controlled narrative, Monero 'fans' would find it in their own interest to stop bumping this thread with easily detectable and easily disprovable anti-Dash fud. Specially in a time that Dash is getting UP on a daily basis, with regards to price and integrations.

To me it seems that market is totally same as the title of this thread

Man is fun to chit chat with people that imagine things and see them totally differently then everyone else. But not over 5 years. Then it gets boring. Trust me no one wants to argue with you or few minded like you. Just read what you wrote. "Monero-controlled narrative"   There is no one beside you and your friends that believes that a Crypto currency Monero so a code or mathematics is controlling DASH price and makes it worth less and less daily. Conversations ends totally pointless. Constant provocations and then crying when calling you out. Never accept the reality.  While on other hand no one really care about just another Bitcoin clone. There are 10000 of them.

2437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are Virgin Bitcoins on: September 15, 2019, 01:48:52 AM
Can BTC be wiped and reconsidered virgin say by companies like Ciphertrace or the government if seized?

It will always have history. No matter who held it in past you will always be able to trace any satoshi to coinbase.
2438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shit Exchanges, an end to good projects. on: September 15, 2019, 01:21:22 AM
It is almost impossible to believe that after developing a good project which might likely succeed because of the product, some so-called developers and teams will still go ahead and list in a shit exchange all in the name of reducing the listing fund or all in the name of no fund to list in the big exchange, if you cannot afford good exchange, why not continue with the development of the project to be able to attract the right investors, why rush to a shit exchange. So many projects that could have succeeded have been buried by shit exchange, and if you care to know, you are the reason why we still have shit exchange because the owners of shit exchange knew that some daft developers and team will surely come and list their projects. Why will someone prepare a good meal and then decide to keep it in a cabinet full of cockroaches? Wake up.

How can you be buried by an exchange?   Every single exchange helps you to provide more liquidity for token/coin. There is impossible to be to many exchanges. But yes if there are to many then on some that coin will be just listed but no one or rare will trade it.
2439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why isn't anyone talking about NULS? on: September 15, 2019, 12:28:42 AM
Pretty impressed with NULS technology and recent announements regarding their upgrade and newly announced staking alternative. This coin has seen some subtle growth for a good reason and will continue to go up in value imo.

Would really like to connect with anyone who has also invested in NULS and hear your thoughts

I just read about NULS, I read it after seeing your topic, I think NULS has the potential for long-term investment because it uses its own blockchain. and recently NULS announced the launch of mainnet NULS 2.0. if you are a NULS token holder you need to read this article https://medium.com/@nuls/the-2-0-mainnet-is-live-and-nuls-has-delivered-the-worlds-most-modular-blockchain-6c8496ea0816

Yup their website looks nice. I find Nuls a cute token. But that is just first impression.
2440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will TRX ever reach ATH on: September 15, 2019, 12:00:48 AM
TRON had a ATH of $0.25 which currently trading at $0.015, it's huge below than the ATH. Can we expect TRX to reach new ATH anytime soon? I'm holding a bag of TRON which is a significant loss for me. Please share you constructive opinion why do you think TRX will reach ATH soon, or why not.

Man just cut the loses. You are just bothering yourself. Most of coins is cheap now. So if you exchange your TRX for them ( and dont pick another scam coin) you will do fine.   I dont know what you need to do that? You need that Sun again lie that have kidney problems just t not go to lunch with Buffet but he goes party in San Francisco. Is that lie not good enough for you that he is making fun of you and Buffet and everyone else?

If you will not sell you will just keep thinking about this. Same as Bitconect holders. They are still totally sure Bitconect will do fine when Bitcoin reach new ATH.  LOL
