Agree with @bryant.coleman Kiwis were not interested and WC is too big tournament for them, historically they never hosted WC on their own but only with the partnership. ICC could have contacted UAE for that matter.

Australia would have been the perfect hosts, as they have more than two dozen first class stadiums where the WC matches could be conducted. NZ is a small country and I don't know whether they have that many grounds. Unpredictable weather is another issue in New Zealand. UAE is also another option, but even with them I am not sure about the number of stadiums.

Not every 3 year but every year. (Feb-March)2017(In India), 2018-2019 ( Nov-Dec-Jan In Australia) i remember majority of games vividly and now again 2020 series in Australia (Nov-Dec-Jan).

The Australian board will receive the revenues only if the matches are being hosted in Australia and that was probably implied by Coleman. And this is not just the case for Australia. For every cricket board (apart from the BCCI) a tour by the Indian team is like a lottery. And this is how the BCCI used to control nations such as Zimbabwe and West Indies during the voting for various ICC posts.

T20 action will be back in another two days, with the start of the inaugural edition of Lanka Premier League. I am not much excited about this tournament. IMO, it is not viable to have franchise T20 leagues in all the full member nations. I would say that such tournaments should be limited to major markets such as India, Australia, England, Pakistan and Bangladesh. I would add in West Indies, because they have large diaspora communities in the US, as well as good fanbase in South Asia.

It was really very annoying. So most of the time I watched the matches on youtube . And there was no sound problem in the live stream of youtube. There are a huge viewers of IPL. So TV channels should have solved their sound problem. Because of these problems, the channels will lose their TRP.

Here in India, I don't think that there was live stream in YouTube. Online streaming rights were grabbed by Hotstar, and I watched most of the matches using their platform. But Hotstar used the same stream which was broadcast on the TV, i.e with the artificial noise. Also, when these channels have the monopoly, they don't need to bother about losing their TRP. The viewers don't have any other choice.

I hope Rohit Sharma will recover very soon. Virat Kohli won't play the Test series against Australia, if Rohit Sharma can't play, it will not be happy for the India team. On the other hand, I would be happy to have Shreyas lyre in the squad. He is a talented player. Though he is not experienced enough, but I hope he will be able to play well against Australia.

Virat will be playing in the test series. But he will be returning to India after the first test. Yesterday, there was a warning from the former Australian batsman Michael Clarke, who claimed that India risks getting whitewashed 0-4 without Virat. But the other batsmen needs to step up their part. For how long India is going to be overdependent on Kohli for the overseas matches?
2446  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: November 19, 2020, 05:00:33 AM
if the country is led by a wrong president then all that will be devastation like Venezuela this country is so rich in oil but now this country is hardly developed so much crime and also drugs there have been traded this country is so free and everything seems It will be worse if this continues. Corruption is also a problem for many countries which makes a country's economy worse.

The problem is not with their president, but with the system. Even when Hugo Chavez was the president of Venezuela, the system was the same. However, during that time the crude oil price was quite high and therefore they didn't had to bother about the budget deficit and the exchange rate of the national currency. Now the crude oil prices have nosedived and these things can't be maintained any longer.
2447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 19, 2020, 04:49:28 AM
It is going to be a tough situation for the casino owners. And let's remember the fact that not all of the casinos are owned by billionaires like Sheldon Adelson. A number of them are owned by small-scale owners such as various native American reservations. So I don't expect all of these casinos to have enough cash reserves to pay their employees even if they remain closed for an extended period.
2448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: November 19, 2020, 04:39:29 AM
So the ISL 2020 will start tomorrow. I was a bit disappointed with the fact that there is not much coverage in the mainstream media (at least when compared to the hype which was generated during the recently concluded IPL). I can understand that football is not very popular in India apart form certain regions such as Northeast and Goa, but this is a major tournament with international players and I expected better coverage.
2449  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: November 18, 2020, 06:30:11 PM
Not all countries have implemented a lockdown.  In my country, there is no lockdown, so there are still many small businesses that continue to sell so that they can continue their lives.  However, I still admit that the number of unemployed people has increased because many companies have suffered losses.  And only small local businesses can survive.

Here in India, lockdown was in place for almost two months, before the government removed it in several phases. But now the cases are increasing once again (partly due to the onset of winter season) and there are rumors that the government may consider implementing it once again. The businesses are slowly recovering from the earlier lockdown. Another such measure may result in their bankruptcy.

IMO, Pakistan should make use of the current opportunity. Because they were one of the first countries to contain the spread of COVID 19. After an initial spike during June, the number of new infections declined to 400-800 per day. On the other hand, the other cricket playing nations (apart from Sri Lanka and New Zealand) are witnessing steep spikes in COVID 19 infections.
As per the COVID official count the number of patients in Pakistan is rising around 2500 per day for the past one week and Bangladesh is also in the same situation but a slightly lower patient count. The situation in Australia is also not that great as they might shut down the entire country again.

India is leading on that aspect as well because after the initial banging of pots and pans they forgot to continue that process Cheesy.

Hmm.. so the situation is getting worse in Pakistan as well. The winter season has started in the sub-continent and may peak by January-February. So I don't expect any slowdown in the spread for the next 2-3 months. On the other hand, the situation in those countries which are located in the southern hemisphere (Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.etc) may improve, as the temperature rises.
2451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin always remain an investment vehicle? on: November 18, 2020, 05:25:01 PM
At least for the next decade or so, I am sure that Bitcoin will remain as an investment asset. However, being a digital asset I don't expect Bitcoin to survive for a very long time. After sometime, the advancement in digital technology will make Bitcoin obsolete. It may happen after one or two decades, or even later. But until then, Bitcoin will continue to grow in terms of userbase and acceptability.
2452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 18, 2020, 05:14:58 PM
I think fair amount of Test players are schedule to play 2-3 warm up games against Australia A and if i remember the roster clearly then warm-up game would start seamlessly along with intl T-20 series (Aus vs Ind). These warm up games might help some players such as Pujara, Rahane,Vihari, Pant, Saha etc

I am glad that BCCI allowed a greater number of warmup matches this time. Normally they go for a very cramped schedule, with a maximum of just one warmup match. The players have remained in northern hemisphere for more than a year and they need time to adjust with the conditions in Australia. I am especially worried about Pujara, as the last match he played was more than 8 months back.
2453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal Reaches 85% of Binance.US Volume on: November 18, 2020, 12:17:54 PM
So from what I have heard the PayPal doesn’t let people move their bitcoins to another wallet, and that it’s not an actual Bitcoin we will be buying from it, it’s just going to be like some token or something and they will be lying to the people that it’s real Bitcoin while they won’t be able to send their bitcoins to another person or a different wallet that they own.

The only thing people will be doing is just HODL it on the PayPal platform and nothing more, you can’t do anything with it. With that I would say that it all doesn’t make any sense, because it would have been best if they allowed people to do more with it, that would have also helped in the adoption.

They have already clarified about this. Right now the functionality is limited and you can't withdraw your BTC, or make payments. By mid-2021 they will make full functionality available for the American users and hopefully you will be able to do payments and withdraw BTC to other wallets. So right now, it can be used only for purchasing and storing your coins.
2454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen for Amazon to accept Bitcoin? on: November 18, 2020, 10:56:59 AM
Guys, don't you think that the question has now become irrelevant? PayPal has announced that by mid-2021, we will be able to make BTC payments using their platform. So it will be possible to make payments in Amazon using the BTC in our PayPal account. I think this is the closest we can get, as far as Bitcoin acceptance by Amazon is concerned. They are never going to accept direct payments in Bitcoin.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 18, 2020, 10:42:11 AM
Agreed. What I proposed could be feasible if many of our community members pitched in which could lead to the sponsors gaining interest, but I forgot about what happened in the past pools.

We are in the right direction. Look at the IPL pool. We had a total of 22 participants. On top of that, we had more than 2,000 posts in this thread (despite the fact that only pool participants were allowed to post). Potential sponsors would definitely notice all these stats. For almost two months, this thread was perhaps the most active one in Gambling discussion sub-forum. For the sponsor (sportbet.one), the returns from this campaign was probably lot more than they could get from any potential signature or bounty campaign.

Anyway, all the credit goes to Royse777, for managing the pool and this thread. It would have taken a lot of time and effort. If we maintain the quality, then we can get the best sponsorships and quality participants.
2456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 18, 2020, 10:32:37 AM
Two missing ballots in Georgia after vote recount. Trump and his team have strong reasons and belief that something are wrong, intentionally or unintentionally.

I don't have belief that Trump can flip the final results after vote recounts in some battleground states but if he can win in Arizona or Georgia and more missing ballots are found, it means something. To flip final results, Trump need more missing ballot casts in big counties not 2 small counties.

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/politics/us/article/President-Trump-gets-more-than-1-000-new-votes-in-15734038.php
https://www.wjcl.com/article/presidential-lead-in-georgia-narrows-as-more-than-5-000-uncounted-ballots-are-discovered/34698540#

For all practical purposes, the outcome of the presidential election is now certain. I don't think any legal challenge or recount is going to change the outcome. Initially I was afraid that at least some of the gambling sites would use this opportunity to deny or hold back the winning amount, but it looks like they are distributing the rewards without waiting any further.
2457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 and its impact on gambling on: November 18, 2020, 10:11:31 AM
I have read the topic what I'm interesting now is about His reaction and how he handles such a Loss, being the Most popular gambling these days if he will reveal His identity ,because this is unusual thing that will only happen once in a million chance.

Revealing his identity would be like the most foolish thing to do. He can attract unwanted attention from the criminals as well as from the tax authorities. If the tax authorities hear about this, then the first thing they will enquire is how this guy can afford to risk this huge amount. There is a good chance that the money was not earned through legal means. Even if it was earned through legal means, there can be additional verifications required by the authorities.

It's official England will take of Pakistan for T20 match in October 2021 after 16 years! No doubt, Pakistan fans anxiously waiting for the upcoming series since Pakistan cricket board were desperately waiting to host international match, it's great achievement.

IMO, Pakistan should make use of the current opportunity. Because they were one of the first countries to contain the spread of COVID 19. After an initial spike during June, the number of new infections declined to 400-800 per day. 2459  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: November 17, 2020, 01:13:31 PM
I am more than worried about those Venezuelans who have gone all in on BTC. I mean, there's nothing wrong in making crypto a part of your life, but taking crypto as your whole life is stupid. And even if the government is taking shit steps like these $0.23 worth of Bolivar-bills release, I believe that going all in on BTC is not a good idea because if it ever gets crashed (and that's imminent tbh), the whole country will be there to suffer just like they are suffering from their current Government.

It is their money and they can do whatever they want, as long as they are not doing anything illegal. Those who invested in Bitcoin, or converted their fiat currency or other assets to Bitcoin are currently sitting on top of at least 60% to 70% profits. So why do you need to worry? Obviously this was a very risky option, taking in to account the volatility and lack of legality of Bitcoin. But in the end, things worked out well for them.
2460  Economy / Economics / Re: Oil and USA dollar problem for USA covid 19 New oil on: November 17, 2020, 12:29:54 PM
If oil costs more than $ 100, then a financial paradise will begin in Russia Smiley If you are talking about the prospect of 10-20 years, then I agree with you,
because every year it is more difficult to extract oil and its price will rise.
But I saw Biden's interview where he said that he would not prohibit the production of shale oil.

Obviously countries such as Russia are heavily dependent on oil revenues and the cheap shale oil from the United States was responsible for the economic downturn in these countries since 2014-15. Earlier the cost of production of shale oil was around $80 per barrel. But with modern technology, this has been reduced to $30-$40 per barrel. So unless there is some restriction on shale oil production, the prices won't go to the previous levels.
